Top 5 Red Rangers?
T.J. Johnson: He is stable, he is considerate, he was hand chosen by Tommy Fucking Oliver to take on the position of leadership after years and years. Also, he is just a Good Boy. KING. Lauren Shiba: The live action did her dirty and inconsistent and rude, but good goddamn was she one of the best things in Shattered Grid. Girl was a badass to end all badasses with that Burn Out technique~ QUEEN. Jason Scott: Shut up. You knew he was gonna be here at some point, and yes, Rocky in the comics is filling out to be a DELIGHT. But comic Jason actually has a background, and we see him fail spectacularly trying to date Trini, and his actually doing his best as a leader. Also, MULTIPLE INCIDENTS involving him crying. He stays right here. Virgil | Red Psycho Ranger: Specifically in The Psycho Path, wherein he feels responsible for the safety and future of the others on his team and did not kill anyone when he got the chance and is actually just shy of being gd adorable. Also that bit where he confronts Karone about the Rangers killing the Psychos twice gets me every time. Baby~ Red Sentry Skull: Twenty Years a Spy should probably be his bestselling memoir in the Coinless universe when things cool down. Also, reminder, he did his job while having to be commander of the other Red Sentries. What is that? I believe they call that GROWTH.

Not sure how to go about the headcanon things, but here's some for the comic timelines we both see and only got little hints at during Shattered Grid and Graphic One-Shots:
Eric Myers is not as big of an asshole as he was in the live action Time Force, or he never would have GIVEN Jen a hug.
Cam missed every single member of his team and his dad while stuck in Beyond the Grid, but was mostly worried that Drakkon got his slimy hands on his cousins when he saw a lot of the villains throughout the dimensions and timelines out on the battlefield.
Mia ACTUALLY learned to cook in the second month on Promethea when she lost her powers, because Tyler Navarro, Dana Mitchell, and T.J. Johnson were all there and all of them would have recognized something was not right when she didn't cook chicken and thought a Carolina Reaper made a great condiment.
Fun idea about the World of the Coinless: the Comic Relief or Secondary Characters are all badass and pretty much evolved like Pokemon when Drakkon took over. Fran got shipped to Pai Zhua with Casey when Skull finagled them out of the dungeons they were in for stealing bread and was given Orange, which made her perfect for dual combat in the field with RJ; Victor and Monty got found by Bulk trying to protect grade school children some sentries were bullying after curfew and turned out perfect to help out Trini and the first assault fighters in the field; Ben and Betty got split up during a bombing that killed their dad--with Ben getting picked up by the Coinless and taken under the wing of Rocky and Aisha, whereas Betty got caught by the sentries to be turned over to the Mastodon Division BUT got a final hour diversion into palace housekeeping because Adam is a big softie even if he can't stand up for himself. And so on~
Spike Skullovitch DOES NOT have a mother. Make of that whatever you want.
Animals still exist in the RPM universe, but are kept underground in a specialized, secondary location not terribly unlike the Son Doong Cave.
Cassidy and Devin are actually exceptionally competent when paired up with the Rangers in their high school to do literally anything; largely because the Morphin Grid sets up certain people to assist their Rangers from one team to another and these two were perfect. Though...for some reason they work 90% better with Trent than any of the Primary Rangers?
Orange is the rarest Grid Color and most of those who end up wearing it are female or have a lot of femme qualities and/or some form of mental illness.
When the Psycho Rangers were left to their own devices in the aftermath of the Psycho Path, Yellow never took up a different name and none of them ever went looking for the person that they used to be.
J.J. Oliver is a trans man and Anara is a trans woman and they're both pansexual. They go to Pride together every year and there is a MASSIVE betting pool on when they finally figure out they're basically dating.
Clare might be a massive klutz and Leelee might still be getting used to the whole being human thing, but both of them are the most responsible people in their circle of friends and family.
Sharing your headcanons is just sending me headcanons to enjoy/share with me, with I'm 100% down for. Asking me about mine is just asking me about headcanons surrounding specific teams or people. As a precaution, I haven't seen the comics at all.
I fucking love all of these!
Thank you!

I want to start reading the power rangers comic which one should I pick?
mmmm well that depends on what you want to read tbh!!! If you want to read the big ongoing main series that includes MMPR, GGPR, and MM/PR, the reading order is such:
GGPR #1 - #20 and finishing with Forever Rangers, along with the Back to School special (GGPR #8-#12 are tied to the Shattered Grid event because there’s time travel nonsense happening. So there are technically spoilers for MMPR #25-onward there.  So you can either pause at GGPR #8 and start MMPR until they sync up or you can just roll with it because at this point who doesn't already know what happens in Shattered Grid)
MMPR #0 - #39
GGPR #21 - #32
MMPR #40 - #55
and then continuing with the relaunch.  Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers are TECHNICALLY separate books but you're obviously supposed to read them together. So Mighty Morphin #1, then Power Rangers #1, then Mighty Morphin #2, and so on.
Other books tied to the main series but not 100% required reading to follow the plot are the Power Rangers Unlimited books (Heir to Darkness, Edge of Darkness, and Countdown to Ruin), Ranger Slayer #1 and Drakkon New Dawn, and Power Rangers Universe. You can also read these without reading the main series but you'll lose a lot of context.
Books not tied to the main series at all are the MMPR crossovers (MMPR/Justice League, MMPR/TMNT, MMPR/Godzilla), the PINK miniseries, the annuals (except the 2018 annual, which is tied to Shattered Grid, and on occasion the main books make tiny references to annual stories. But at this point a lot of the annual stories contradict the main series so there's really no point), the anniversary book, and the graphic novels (Soul of the Dragon, Psycho Path, and Sins of the Future).
so yeah!!! it's really up to you if you want to dive into the big ongoing story or just want to read something smaller for fun

The psychos’ little secret
Plot summary: Yet another variation/retelling in the ‘Virgie and the psychos’ verse. What happens when someone Karone doesn’t even know exists overhears her initial request at the end of ‘The Psycho Path’ ?
For all his talk and desire of wanting a family, in the end, Trek didn’t trust his ‘sister’ any more than she trusted him. That was why he’d advised his nieces and nephews-he supposed that was the correct term-not to tell her about Virgie at all.
Virgie, the red psycho from another time and place. She kept to the shadows and didn’t speak much, often arguing with Trek over things like hunting down rangers. None of those arguments were unfriendly ones, however, and Yellow had told her siblings that she’d overheard Trek telling Virgie that he’d had a choice to become the way he was.
A choice. That was something their mother hadn’t given them. The only reason they referred to her as such was because that was as far back as they remembered, and unlike Virgie, they didn’t concern themselves with what was left behind. Instead, they only wished to move forward and live their lives-whatever that might end up being.
They’d all talked to Virgie at one point or another, though none of them seemed to know what to make of her. Photon remarked that she seemed almost afraid, and had asked her why once. She’d only sighed and said that the psychos from her time weren’t as close as they were here. She’d also remarked that while they looked and sounded the same, the psychos Trek had introduced her to were quite different, and that was good. After that, she’d returned to that perpetually sad look she often had.
Virgil had noticed it first when Photon had remarked on her sadness. “Sad she may be, but if she’s me, inside she’s a ticking time bomb. All it takes is one thing to set her off.”
In the end, none of them had told their mother about Virgie. They were cautiously willing to try and get to know her, even humor themselves with names, of all things. Yellow was the only holdout on that, not entirely certain of it all.
On the day the rangers came to ‘rescue’ Karone, Virgie waited in the shadows. She could have interfered long before Trek and Andros both were knocked out, but she was waiting for an opportune moment. Part of her, however, hoped that moment wouldn’t come.
But come it did when Karone thought all was well and said, “I need you to let me destroy you and reprogram you to-”
Virgil and his family didn’t even get the chance to process any feelings of hurt or disbelief before a furious red psycho ranger flew across the room, sending Karone into the wall.
“YOU DO NOT GET THE RIGHT TO MAKE PEOPLE INTO YOUR TOOLS NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE!” Virgie was slamming Karone’s head into the wall with every word. Cold fury and power radiated off the little red psycho-far more than any one of them recalled harnessing.
“She’ll blow up the place,” Virgil muttered, watching in fascination.
“No she won’t,” Photon remarked from next to him. “Whatever this is...she’s in complete control.”
Karone tried to fight back, harness those powers she’d always had as Astronema. Logically she ought to have been stronger than any and all of them combined-unless of course, they banded together. Something, however, was preventing her from harnessing any of it. So instead she tried to shove the new psycho off her, with little success.
“You took five people away from their lives. Possibly from their families. They were someone’s sons and daughters, and you turned them into your tools! Another one like you did the same to me and four others. And now all of a sudden things get to be okay for you because ‘you’re good’ and it’s okay you didn’t mean it! But in the end you haven’t changed at all-you still want to use them as tools for your own purposes. You haven’t changed at all, have you?” Virgie sent Karone flying to the other side of the room, where the other woman landed in a heap next to her brother.
The other psychos didn’t move. Part of them wanted to stop this-they’d almost come to care for their ‘mother’ in this short time. But another part of them felt the betrayal and knew Virgie was right.
“Virgil was right.” Virgie laughed from beneath her helmet. “Lethal is so much easier. But killing you and your brother would mean nothing to me. So I’m not going to kill you. But you might wish I had when I’m done.” She placed one hand on her own forehead, and the other on Karone’s. The psychos had done it themselves with Andros and his team.
This, however, was something different. Karone was screaming, and the psychos were pretty sure that hadn’t happened when they’d done it. Virgie didn’t seem to be experiencing any discomfort at all.
“The hell is she doing?” Axe whispered to Virgil, who merely shrugged.
Trek, who’d woken up, sat up groggily and grinned in his own manic way. “It’s the brain drain...only in reverse.” And then he cackled and promptly passed out again.
Karone passed out shortly after, and only then did Virgil let her transformation fade. She looked tired, and turned to the other psychos.
“I don’t care what you do with them,” she said. “My point has been made.” She paused and shook her head. “Those names you picked-I think you should keep them if you want. You deserve identities beyond what you-we-were made into. What she forced you to have is yours now, just like mine is. I just-for all my mixed feelings, I just wanted you and her to know that you’re worth so much more than just-things.” She swayed on her feet, and Photon caught her before she too passed out.
“Get them out of here,” Virgil muttered of Andros and Karone. “Dump them outside and let’s get out of here-someone will find them.”
In the end, Nokrea and Axe dragged Andros and Karone outside, while Virgil put his uncle to bed, groaning all the way.
But they were together, whether it was to fight another day or just...live.

HUMAN FORMS OF THE PSYCHO RANGERS. Black and yellow look kinda accurate to their tv version but I wish red was darker like his tv counterpart. PINK AND BLACK CALLED KARONE MOM!!!!!! Lol now I can’t stop imagining psycho red calling Andros uncle lol just to piss Andros off.
also it’s confirmed that the psycho rangers used to be actual people. To quote Karone later on in the issue
“They were people. Just like me. They were destroyed. Broken and reprogrammed. Just like me. They were turned into weapons. Just like me”
The psychos get new names in this comic.
Psycho Pink whose adorable through out the comic is called Nokrea.
Psycho red is called Virgil
Yellow is still Yellow( no surprise there)
Blue is called Axe(the writers had the chance to name him tomahawk after neziblue weapons name in Megaranger but they didn’t take it..shame)
While black is called Photon
Over all I liked the comic. It showed the human side of the psychos so to speak(them engaging in group bonding activities with Karone) lol there’s a cute bit with psycho blue where he pretty much wonders what soda is and thinks Karones just making stuff up
also that one comic detailing the origin of psycho green(that’s so notorious for being hard to find is included here)

“Saban’s Power Rangers: The Psycho Path” Reunites Fan Favorites Andros & Karone in October 2019
BOOM! Studios, under license by Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced today an original graphic novel starring fan favorite characters, Karone, Andros, and the iconic Psycho Rangers in SABAN’S POWER RANGERS: THE PSYCHO PATH from writer Paul Allor (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Clue), fan-favorite artist of Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon Giuseppe Cafaro, and colorist Marcelo Costa, available in stores October 2019.
In SABAN’S POWER RANGERS: THE PSYCHO PATH, the struggle between good and evil goes galactic as secret origins are revealed and lives are changed forever in this epic original graphic novel story that delves deep into the origins and motivations of the ultimate adversaries of the Power Rangers, the Psycho Rangers! They’re are faster, stronger, and smarter…but evil. Created by Karone when she was still the evil Astronema, the Psycho Rangers were programmed with overwhelming hate for all things Power Rangers. They were defeated at great personal cost by the Power Rangers, but now someone has brought them back and they are more murderous than ever before.
Who brought these monstrous, twisted Rangers back, and why? And can Karone, the former Lost Galaxy Pink Ranger, and her brother Andros, the Red In Space Ranger, stop the Psychos before they bring the universe to its knees?
SABAN’S POWER RANGERS: THE PSYCHO PATH features a cover by acclaimed artist Diego Galindo (Kino, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).
Paul Allor is a comic book writer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has written for comic book series ranging from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and GI Joe for IDW to Kong of Skull Island for BOOM! Studios. He is also the author of several critically-acclaimed creator-owned books such as Tet, Past the Last Mountain, and Monstro Mechanica. Paul currently teaches comics writing courses through Comics Experience.
“I can not wait for SABAN’S POWER RANGERS: THE PSYCHO PATH to be unleashed upon the unsuspecting populace. The entire team has worked together to create a compelling and deliciously twisted journey that will surprise and delight Power Rangers fans all along the way.” said writer, Paul Allor. “This book is not what you think it’s going to be. And I suspect you’ll love what it is.”
Giuseppe Cafaro is an Italian comic book artist who has worked in the industry since 2010 to great acclaim. Cafaro has been the artist for titles such as Catwoman, Suicide Squad, and Superman/Wonder Woman for DC Comics, Fathom and Soulfire for Aspen Comics, and Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon and Firefly: Bad Company for BOOM! Studios.
“Being a part of the Power Rangers family is such a huge honor. I felt the weight of that honor in Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon, and I can feel it now. I think the Psycho Rangers universe is so powerful and dark; it has been very fun to work on!” said artist, Giuseppe Cafaro.
Currently, Power Rangers is celebrating over 25 continuous years on the air, making it one of the longest running kids live-action series in television history with nearly 900 episodes aired to date. Created by Haim Saban and launched in 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the franchise celebrates its milestone anniversary year with the 26th season, Power Rangers: Beast Morphers currently airing on Nickelodeon in the U.S.
“Everything turns upside down as Karone and Andros are forced to deal with the rise of the Psycho Rangers, causing Karone to struggle with her identity as the dark and power-hungry Astronema and pulling Andros along for the ride as he tries to help his sister.” said Dafna Pleban, Senior Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Things get dark and dire in space, giving fans a chance to glimpse into the shadows behind the mysterious rebirth of these twisted versions of the original mighty heroes.”
Print copies of SABAN’S POWER RANGERS: THE PSYCHO PATH will be available on October 9, 2019 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the one nearest you), October 15, 2019 at bookstores, or at the BOOM! cliché, fetish, kink, and trope headcanon asks for Nick/Virgil;
B,E,F,H,N,W
Body Fetish:
Hands. Big strong hands encircling Virgil's throat with thumbs positioned perfectly on either side of his windpipe, or fingers smoothing over his tongue so he can suck on them, like a sleepy newborn. Sometimes he'll chew on his own fingernails until he can taste blood, and then slip them over on into Nick's mouth so he can get a taste.
(Yes, he's read studies on humans; with anyone else it would be gross and disturbing, but luckily Nick doesn't have that problem.) Shoulder blades. Long, stocky, when Nick sometimes lies back and watches Virgil get out of bed in the morning, sees his arms stretch on either side of his body and then meet in the middle so he can pop his back--he has to immediately get up, kiss the tips of each blade and hold onto Virgil as he gets ready for the day. Like a koala. (And if Virgil touches his blades, Nick reacts like a vibrating teacup poodle.) Emotional Themes: Claustrophobia, being alone in a vastly empty room, not knowing where his siblings are, the inherent awfulness of not being a fully developed person while being trapped in the body of an adult. These are the things that give Virgil terrible anxiety; the kind that makes him kick, snap, and bite without motive or meaning to. Sometimes he'll find a thin thread in his sleep: this little boy laughter that he doesn't recognize, the smell of berries under a thin veil to keep away bugs, this child that must have been him waddling into water with a long shadow of an adult encouraging him to paddle with his hands as he stares with trepidation over at the shore where his little strawberry innertube sat in the shade of a tree. He'll wake up with a jolt so hard that Nick will ask what the matter was. He'll breakdown into hot, disgusting tears without an answer as to why. Fight or flight, fear of the open sky, the sound of hooves running at a gallop, men laughing raucously outside of a tavern not far from summer campsites. These are the things that put Nick on edge with rhyme and reason, but are still hard to explain. Growing up partly on the Reservation with his dads was usually good far often than it was bad, but there were still exceptions that he carried onto adulthood. Grown men drunk on barely legal liquor chasing a little boy just trying to buy marshmallows at the county store; hollering and tossing slurs his way as he ran off the road, out into a patch of too bright sun and open meadow. The sounds behind him of broken bones under cloven feet as his eldest cousin set Nick's dads into their own path; Pop fighting like a long forgotten god of battlefields, and Dad picking Nick up in a spin to soar over his head before he was up on his shoulders, looking out to find the path back to land. He gets gloomy, thinking how things might have been better, might have been worse, in the Mystic Realm, dealing with the Master's henchmen and hordes constantly searching out ways to make the people and their lives all the more miserable. He would have had a single cousin, had a single mother. The memory of Leanbow like a shadow over their heads and different songs and stories to live and learn by. They both have grief over what could have been, but regret barely fills a teacup between them. Fantasies/Frottage: Nick grew up among nothing but Rangers and his cousins, who were all a close kept, tactile, constantly in the way kind of lot. Then he was on a team with a mentor that turned out to be his mom, working and living in close quarters and with very little space between missions, or even breathing space to sleep. Virgil doesn't remember a time when he wasn't around his team that turned into his family. The spaceship they were on was big, but Photon didn't like to be alone, Nokrea was very inclined to ask questions at all hours, and Virgil sort of ended up really being the big brother to both of them. All of their fantasies revolved around being alone, or alone with each other. Sadly, it didn't happen very often, but there was this broom closet on the ship where they could lock themselves away for twenty minutes, rut and rub and make each other cum fully clothed until they got buzzed up or docked onto the next planet. "Someday," and "Later," became a huge basis of their love language. Healing/Comfort Sex: They cuddle after very stressful days. Fighting against Dark Specter or the returning vassals of Lord Vile or any other thing out in space; or stray magic user on earth in the Mystic Realm that would seek to carry on where the Master left off. Nick got hurt significantly, though not nearly as often as Virgil got hurt. Nick didn't have wanted posters with his suit plastered on data files across the known universe. So they cuddle, and sometimes fall asleep half naked. And sometimes they'll wake up in what could be called the night against the backdrop of darker parts of the galaxy, they'll pull each other closer. Then they'll suck and swallow each other for a time, all tongues and fingers and deep moans before tasting salt and sweat and cum. New AU: Koragg was never a being or a curse to be taken as ever fully gone or destroyed. Nick realized this after the end of the Master, the end of the darker parts of the mystic realm had fallen, after his parents all met each other and got to know each other and him as he actually was. Koragg waited in the dark shadows in nooks and crannies at the edge of the last battle, Leanbow no longer as appetizing as he used to be; Nick not on Earth as often as it would have liked to make a second go at things, walk around in a strong vessel. But when Nick was back in the realm, he brought along his boyfriend, the other Psycho Rangers, his non-bloodborn family. The little dragon of Green's wasn't Koragg's fair; very pretty, but too quiet, to calm. The Blue Psycho with the axe and the brilliance of coming from somewhere unknown had a touch of mystique and longing that Koragg's could appreciate, especially with that body, but he was too simple. Virgil blazed much like Nick, but Koragg didn't need the hassle of that sort of thing again. No more Reds--they were too much trouble. But a Gold, or perhaps a real Purple could be nice. The fact that they were kith and kin to Nick and would make him and his suffer was just a bonus. Wingfic: Virgil's wings look utterly ridiculous. He can't fly with them, they're too heavy to lift him and only serve as a show for mating. A kind of reverse peacock, with wings rather than tail feathers. They look like dazzling landscapes of red, orange, sienna, tan, and yellow; with whorls of black and shining blue for design. And they're an incredible pain in the ass to keep clean. Nick's wings are a fine set that would make a great golden eagle feel ashamed. All slick feathers and shining white-gold and fluff underneath. They get along just fine, even if they're a little jealous of each other. Virgil for the flying, Nick for the brilliant coloring.

You know, I didn’t think I was gonna like Karone in that pink shirt. It just made my brain glitch because that is NOT her style.
But…

It’s growing on me.
Also, I really hope they make reference to The Trial of Astronema. That would make me BEYOND happy.

I'm currently experimenting with "Everything in its Place" placement. What do you think? Either I place it before Go Go #21, Before MMPR#40 or after MMPR#55. As I see it, while the "Empyreals" don't become relevant until Post-55, it is important to establish the "status quo" that the Cover Stories set up for the series.

Force from the past
Writing this might mean the Time Force season doesn’t happen, but I wanted to. Ft. Time Force verse AJ and belongs in the year 3000 Virgie.
Jen was passed out. Katie, Trip, and Lucas could only watch blearily as Nadira led Ransik away, as the three of them could hardly move.
But then it happened. Out of nowhere, two figures ambushed Ransik and Nadira from the side. One was recognizable-sort of-while the other was a bit of a puzzle.
“A black time force ranger?” Lucas asked. “I didn’t know there was-”
“A psycho ranger?” Trip recognized the other, having heard the legend of Psycho Green from his home planet. His voice was laced with fear, and beside him, he could feel a hug from Katie.
The newcomers seemed to be working in sync to bring the two criminals down, however-both with large black swords that they seemed too small for. Ransik and Nadira fought back, but between the two newcomers working in sync with their own swordsmanship and some strange appearances by ghostly porcupines and sharks of all things, they were subdued. Katie,Trip, and Lucas watched in wonder as both Nadira and Ransik were sucked into containment chambers not unlike what the cryogenetically frozen criminals were placed in.
At about the same time, Captain Logan received a transmission. “Captain, we’ve detected a large blip in the time stream. It’s directly on the path to the prison.”
“WHAT? Get a-” He was interrupted by another transmission.
“This is Time Force Black, Officer AJ Finn calling for Captain Logan.”
“What? Who is this? There is no Time Force Black. Those powers are-”
“-unstable in most circumstances, yes sir. Guess you haven’t met me yet. I’ve got a lot to explain, but the most important order of business. Ransik’s prison bus was ambushed-”
“WHAT? Do you realize how long it took-”
“Ransik and his accomplice have been secured thanks to myself and a friend of mine. We’ll be taking them to the prison now. You should also probably send an ambulance for your team just in case.”
“Did you do all this by yourself?”
“No sir, I had assistance from a friend-a friend you might like to meet. If you’d care to have someone meet us at the prison, that’s fine. Also, my friend is a psycho ranger-”
“WHAT?”
“-but is trustworthy I assure you.”
“Young lady, I don’t know if you know what a psycho ranger is, but-”
“How about this, then. You send Officer Drake down here to escort us and the prisoners. We reconvene back at HQ in which you, Officer Drake, and my friend and I have a little chat.  Everything will be explained then.”
There was silence on the other end, followed by “Very well. But it better be a damn good explanation.”
Alex and the med team arrived at the same time. Alex’s first instinct was to run to Jen, who was just now coming to. Instead, his attention focused on the Time Force Black ranger he’d never seen before-no one had-and the Psycho Red ranger.
Jen’s first instinct upon seeing the psycho ranger was to reach for her blaster, having not spotted Alex just yet.
The Time Force Black ranger moved in front of the psycho ranger upon seeing this. She and Alex both said the same thing at the same time:
“Stand down.”
“What-Alex?” Jen asked blearily, sitting up. “But it’s-she-”
“Both of them captured Ransik and Nadira,” Katie explained.
“Impossible,”Jen replied. “They-”
“We saw though,” Lucas added. “All three of us.” Beside him,Trip nodded.
Alex looked from one group to the other. “Where are the prisoners now?”
The Time Force Black ranger pulled out the containment chambers and held them out to him. “Here.”
Alex took them, and eyed them in a mixture of wonder and suspicion. “How did you know that-”
“We’ll explain everything. For now, I think we have some prisoners to contain, don’t you think?”
Alex nodded, and said, “Come with me.” He motioned to his Time Force vehicle.
“Alex, surely you aren’t just going to-” Jen was still suspicious, even after what she’d been told.
“We’ll be fine,” Alex replied. “I’ll see you back at HQ.”
The trip to the prison and back to HQ went without incident. There were some curious glances and even stiffening in alarm at the sight of a psycho ranger showing up at the prison, but upon Alex’s assurance, everyone remained (relatively) calm.
Alex himself was dying of curiosity, though he hid it rather well. It was only when they were in Captain Logan’s office that the Black Time Force ranger powered down and revealed herself.
“Hi there. My name’s AJ Finn, and I bet you’re wondering how I got these powers, why we’re here, how we knew, and that little time disturbance. That was us, by the way. And before you start yelling, Captain, we had a good reason.”
“I can’t think of any good reason to mess with the time stream, but go on,” Captain Logan gestured. He was annoyed more than anything else; they had almost lost Ransik, and it had been two strangers messing with the time stream that had gotten him back rather than his own people.
“Before my friend reveals herself, I’d like to explain a few things,” AJ went on. She told them about coming from a time where Ransik had escaped to the year 2000, how Alex had almost died, the Silver Guardians, and how she’d gotten the black Time Force powers.”
“So if Ransik was meant to escape and be recaptured in the year 2000, why did you bother to go so far as to interfere with the time stream?” Alex asked. “And are those powers stable for you?”
“I’m getting to that,” AJ replied. “As for your other question, they’re stable for me because of my animal spirit. I’m a student of Pai Zhua. We’ve found that using the black Time Force powers alongside a secondary force stabilizes them.”
“Interesting,” the captain mused. “But about your time interference, that is serious-”
“Yeah, but we did it because we have something that belongs to you,” AJ replied. “Or someone, rather.” She’s going to nod at the psycho ranger, who would power down in silence.
The psycho red ranger turned out to be a short, black-haired young woman no taller than five feet. When they saw her, both Alex and the captain turned white. They said her name at the same time:
“Virgie.”
“What-how did you-where has she-” Captain Logan finally found his words.
“My brother found an injured Virgie back in our time,” AJ explained. “He patched her up and tried to show her that not everyone is-well, out to get her.”
“That took a while,” Virgie admitted. She was looking from Alex to the captain with uncertainty, as if afraid of what they’d think of her.
“She even learned a little bit about Pai Zhua herself,” AJ explained. “Enough to find something all her own-not something that was forced on her. There was a problem, though. We didn’t know where she came from. “
“I figured I came from another timeline, being that the Psycho Red of this timeline is male,” Virgie mused. “We had some DNA tests done, which I totally didn’t like.”
“The results weren’t too helpful though,” AJ added. “We found distant relatives, but nothing or no one close, and no missing persons reports. So instead we asked some ranger friends and acquaintances to search the timelines and the grid itself for past disturbances.”
“Then somebody from SPD hit on something,” Virgie continued. “A dimensional disturbance approximately 2995 AD. Apparently you had a lot of forces deployed elsewhere at the time, and another timeline’s Astronema came and took me away. Then I became...well, that.” She sighed.
“We’re not sure how Virgie ended up back in the right timeline though,” AJ said. “Maybe something or someone wanted her back. Anyway, when she landed in this timeline, her mind had begun clearing from whatever evil programming that had placed her under. At some point, her mind started questioning-well, everything. Anyway, she’s not under any evil influence at all now.”
“I can still use the psycho red powers, as you’ve seen,” Virgie explained. “But they’re mine now to use as I see fit-I guess. I honestly don’t use them very often any more, because I never really asked for them in the first place. Anyway, we came here after finding out who I really was and where I came from so I could-well, meet the people that I’d been taken away from. And I kinda wanted to help, so that’s why we kinda sorta changed the timeline. I hope you’re not too mad...or that you hate me.”
“Of course not.” Alex let out a breath-how long had he been holding it?-and moved to Virgie’s side. He found himself hugging her tightly, eyes misting over. Only when Virgie hugged him back did he remember Jen-he’d just asked Jen to marry him-and he gulped.
AJ watched them for a moment and said, “SPD ran a backgrouind check on her. Virgie’s committed no crimes in this timeline, so her record is clear. In fact, she’s actually helped out the rangers sporadically. Of course if she had committed any crimes, I’m pretty sure she’d get off on the ‘under evil influence’ technicality.
Virgie and Alex broke their hug, and Virgie glanced up at Alex, whose eyes were still full of emotion. “I still don’t remember my past, I’m afraid,” she admitted. “But seeing you both-I remember you and who you were to me. Both of you.” She paused. “No matter where you are now or with who, Alex-I hope I’ll get the chance to get to know you all over again.” She glanced over at the captain uncertainly.
“Well, Captain?” AJ’s going to glance over at him. The stern look on her face was one that would make Eric Myers proud, and said ‘You hurt her and I will END you’.
Captain Logan sat in silence for a moment. Then he got to his feet, and walked to his daughter’s side, and said two words:
“Welcome home.”
