Y'know, it always bothered me when people said that Remus is the only sides that doesn't care about Thomas well-being and health. First of all, I do think he cares, but even if he doesn't... neither does Roman.

Calm down, I'm not saying that Roman doesn't care about Thomas, but that he cares about things like his dreams, career, reputation and goals.

In Why do we get ouf ot bed in the morning when asked by Thomas "You don't want me to live a long, healthy life?" Roman's answer is a nonchalant "I mean, like, sure, whatever" and in that same video he basically says that Thomas should use time that could/should be spent taking care of his healthy in pursuit of his dreams, even going as far as saying "who needs sleep when you could be writing".

And as much as Roman likes to pretend he cares about the same things the others do, it's... not his job to care about those things. And neither is Remus'.

Actually, when you think about it, Remus and Roman care about the same thing: Thomas' reputation, goals, dreams and career, even if Remus has... questionable opinions about how to pursue those things, because, again, it's not their job to care about anything else.

So Remus cares about Thomas. He cares about the thing that he's supposed to care about, as creativity.

I do feel like when it comes right down to it, Darcy can be as rude as he wants, without any real consequences, because he’s a “great man” and it really doesn’t matter what most people below him think of him.

Elinor Dashwood is just as introverted as Darcy, if not more, but she forces herself to be polite and make small talk because she cannot afford not to do so. (Marianne acts kind of like Darcy, and is rude, without seeming to understand what it might cost her). Even Emma doesn’t dare be as rude as Darcy, and the one time she gets close she’s told off. But who has enough power to tell off a person like Darcy? Probably only his uncle the earl. And knowing Lady Catherine, the earl might be just as snobby as Darcy!

Mr. Gardiner says it all at Pemberley, “But perhaps he may be a little whimsical in his civilities,” replied her uncle. “Your great men often are; and therefore I shall not take him at his word, as he might change his mind another day, and warn me off his grounds.” Which is to say, Darcy can give and withdraw favour like some kind of petty tyrant and all the unfortunate people below him just have to take it, because there really isn’t anything they can do. Absolutely no one would care that Darcy of Pemberley was rude to Mr. Gardiner of Cheapside (*ahem* Gracechurch Street).

Which would make Jane Austen’s point in Pride & Prejudice, and her other novels I think: just because you can do whatever you want, doesn’t mean you should.

Ryan was sheltered his whole life and the one time he tries to use his (untrained) powers he ends up killing the person he was trying to protect. To any normal person this was obviously a horrific accident but also not his fault. You can hate Homelander all you want but not everything he says is automatically wrong and the reason Ryan is with him is because butcher failed. You cannot blame a kid for choosing the person he believes will give him more love and security, especially when he has absolutely no context for any of the rest of it
