I do believe that Yennefer was a constant in Babys life once she knew; even though I think she wasn't there often, because there was stuff happening (with Ciri too; on a bigger scale and sometimes more... urgent) - but she was there when it counted. Hanahaki Disease.

When Jaskier was young, he was cursed. That’s would he had been told. Any form of unrequited love would cause him to cough up Flower Petal. Not only that, eventually, the curse would be over, and Jaskier would turn into trees and flowers.

So Jaskier had been told not to fall in love. Which was a lot harder said than done. As Jaskier found himself falling in Love with everyone. It was never too bad. Only a few flowers.

Then came Geralt. Jaskier fell in love, and he fell in love fast and hard with the Witcher. Sometimes, it only felt like falling with Geralt.

Of course, Geralt did seem to return his feelings, and so the petals kept coming up. But Jaskier hid them; he could die happy if it were with Geralt.

Geralt left him on the mountain, but the petals didn’t stop.

Sometime Later, Jaskier found himself again with Geralt, this time in Kear Morhen with the Ciri, Yennefer and the rest of Geralt’s family. Now, Jaskier knew he didn’t belong; if he did, the petals would have stopped. But at least Geralt was trying to be nicer to him.

One morning, Jaskier awoke to find bark on his legs, and he knew his end was coming

You know, when you realize how - being a prince growing up sheltered at court and all - it’s highly unlikely that Radovid’s parents would ever have told him something along the lines of:

 “No, son.  You must learn to stop staring at boys like they’re a snack that you’d gladly wish you could swallow whole.  That could make them feel uncomfortable and like they are being objectified.  I know we condescendingly call everyone that’s "not us" our "subjects", but they are full-fledged individuals, and not something for you to play with.  So, please, try keeping your interest in them more subtle.”

His intuitive, genuine response to meeting Jaskier for the first time makes even more sense!

And look, now that I think about it, it's not really surprising that he didn't mind if things got a bit cold and humid on that cabin’s floor!  As long as the food was phenomenal, he felt right at home!

No because jaskier making jokes about geralt dying as a coping mechanism for them BOTH like the reason they work together and have lasted so long is because geralt NEEDS that lightness and the jokes and the downplaying how bad it is bc otherwise he gets too in his head he NEEDS jaskier to come in a joke about milking his death for at least three songs (and one epic poem) because they both know deep down that geralt dying would change jaskier as a person forever and so jaskier joking about it (IF geralt dies) is a way for both of them to take heart because geralt knows that jaskier just has this complete faith in him and THAT’S why jaskier makes the jokes because the alternative to jokes is too horrifying to even consider

If Radovid ends up breaking Jaskiers heart and betraying him, which honestly is a very likely scenario I need Geralt being an overprotective best friend and protecting Jaskier and telling Radovid things like “he loved you” “he trusted you” “you broke his heart.”

Thanks to the this first half of season three we know Geralt loves Jaskier and wants to protect him so can you imagine Jaskier actually lets someone into his heart and trusts them and loves them with his whole being and then they betray him by taking Ciri or hurting Ciri or Yen or Geralt.

If Radoivd does betray Jaskier and like assists in a kidnapping of Ciri, Jaskier will be devastated. I personally wouldn’t want to be Radovid. Cause not only have you kidnapped his daughter but you also broke his best friends heart. AND Jaskier would blame himself for what happened and would be withdrawn and wouldn’t trust himself around Ciri and like ugh Geralt would be pissed for so many reasons.

And Yennefer oh dear I think I’d be more afraid of her.

And Ciri coming back and wanting to talk to Jaskier but Jaskier afraid she’ll get taken bc of him again and refuses to be alone with her.

The angst is endless. I’m so sorry its also 4:45 am and I can’t fall back asleep.
