Yeah no hard disagree with this post. I'd understand the logic maybe a few months ago, but tumblr is making some EXTREMELY questionable decisions rn that really don't deserve rewarding.

Are they financially struggling? Yes. Is that bad for us? Also yes, but their solution is even worse! We've seen how they're planning to strip down posts, hide notes and move tumblr away from being a blogging platform and more into a twitter-instagram-tiktok mashup. American users are gonna stay stuck with tumblr live (which they confirmed is here to stay), they're stripping away huge amounts of features, and they're telling epileptic people to BUY AD-FREE IF ADS ARE STROBING TOO MUCH.

Honestly, if you'd told me they were in the red and planning to open donations/do crab day last year, I might've even donated. But tumblr needs to learn that pulling this shit is NOT gonna start making them money. If they want to get out of the red they've gotta start caring about their users.

Don't give them a damn penny till they back down from some of this shit. I'd rather watch the site burn to the ground without funding than watch it become a sanitised social media clone filled with advertisers and nothing that makes tumblr tumblr.

GOSH man. i almost never check my followers on here and now im overwhelmed by it, so i thought this would be easier lol. but i find myself wanting to be More involved here at this time? and i wanna feel... idk more of a PART of all of it?

i have this compulsion?? to make sure i catch up w my social media feeds every day (meaning get back to stuff i saw the previous day) which is why i don't follow a ton of people, because i get easily overwhelmed, to the point where i start to feel.... uncomfortable if i am out of the loop for too long, and i am rly trying to get past that and make that not matter to me? to make peace with what i Do scroll thru in a day and be cool with not seeing every single thing.

anyway point being, i wanna follow more people, and meet new people, and be less..... standoffish? i am feeling particularly fond of the fandom right now, in light of everything that's happened, and i would love to make more connections i say even tho i can never keep a fuckin conversation going lol

i've been realizing lately that i never reach out to ppl, i never initiate a conversation or approach others first, and often let conversations die because idk how to continue them, and idk, that kinda makes me sad? when did that start? and no promises that'll change, but... idk i gotta start somewhere. and it makes me nervous even tho i KNO it's not that deep? idk!!!

Y/N Deleted Her Twitter Account and PPL Are *Very* Concerned

The multi-awarded actress-songwriter didn't give a reason for the sudden departure from Twitter, but she's still keeping her fans posted

On Friday, in the same day as April Fool’s, actress Y/N deactivated her Twitter account. Y/N, 27, didn’t share any reason for her unexpected departure from the social media site.

Y/N’s name began showing up on the said platform’s trending list Friday afternoon when her fans learned her account “doesn’t exist”. Users posted screenshots of her account’s blank page that says, “Something went wrong, try again”.

This sudden move by Y/N fueled more confusion among fans as she also left a couple of projects just last month. Fans were left to solve to find out who or what is the culprit with Y/N’s recent exits. Some wondered if this is for a new career move, or perhaps a personal life event is going on. But whatever the motive is, it appears the actress won’t be updating via Twitter anytime soon.

The actress-songwriter-producer had a busy six years. Ever since the year of 2016, Y/N appeared in at least two movies annually. She has been The Highest Paid Actress in both 2020 and 2021. She also co-produced a couple of films and series. She’s been doing and attending charity works and events every year as part of her advocacy for children’s welfare. In addition, there is a rumor going around about Y/N planning to dive into entrepreneurship.

The Don’t Look Up actress’ social media presence isn’t completely gone. Y/N is still active on her Instagram account although she often only posts images of her iconic Persian cat, Francheskat. Other than that, her last non-Francheskat post is about her holiday celebration in South Korea. She shared images of the said trip on Instagram after her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this year. When asked about the trip during the red carpet premiere of From The Other Side, she simply replied with a shy smile:

Hey Ella. I thought I'd come to you with this because you always give off a kind and sympathetic nature so at the very least I won't be treated like a shitty person for what I want to say.

I'm really struggling with Harry atm and it's actually kinda devastating because I never saw this happening. There is so much around Harry that I vehemently dislike, from the people around him to aspects of his public image and narrative. I was so good at separating all that from Harry himself but lately I've been feeling my bitterness bleeding onto Harry. I've seen this happen so much. People who were originally fans getting annoyed at small things and that growing bigger into bitterness and hate. I don't want to be one of these people.

What is making this worse is that I as a person do not place a high value on things like career and ambition. Not in my own life and not in others. So it's getting hard for me to relate and support Harry in his ambition as to me there are infinitely more important things in life. This wasn't a major factor before because his fame and success wasn't at the level it is now.

I honestly don't know what I'm trying to do with this message. I guess I would just appreciate some perspective if you're willing because I genuinely do not want to start resenting Harry. Honestly just typing this is making me tear up.

hi kind anon, i think you're dealing with a pretty common problem in the fandom these days. it's tough to feel like you don't relate to someone you really always felt comfort with. maybe a first step is to take a breather from the fandom as well as gp/main media talk about harry. no twitter (and i'm not saying this bc i have a weird biased thing against twitter. it's a place where opinions are thrown around like it's something ppl have been begging for, like it's fact, and it's really hard to keep reading opinions and debates without getting influenced), no harry content on instagram, no tiktok. i am not interested in anything others have to say about him, and i actively shield myself from it. i don't watch videos others have made with commentary, i don't read articles, i don't even read discourse on here usually. i think the habit of picking everything apart, of making sure you focus on the negative to properly enjoy the positive, is unhealthy, or at least for me. i know myself enough to not fall into blindness or naivety when it comes to what's wrong with enormous success and the industry. i just don't feel the need to get into it every time harry achieves something.

when it comes to harry's ambition and success, i just know (from what he's shown over the years, but the full extent we never will) how much it means to him. i think it's also a mix of actually wanting to be big for him and getting as high as he can to prove that he can to everyone who told him he couldn't. i don't relate to it either, and i don't think it's cool to have all those riches, but i still cry with harry when he cries of joy at his madison sq garden banner. i'm okay living with that nuance without always debating it. i love his music, i love his artistic vision, i love his lyrics, i love the way he carries himself. i also know i don't know him, that i never will, and that there are things he does and says i don't agree with. i have the exact same thing with some of my lifelong best friends, as they have with me. i'm okay with that. happy, even, of how unique and imperfect we all are

what i do, and what keeps me so in love with harry beyond the noise of the gp and the fandom, is focus on what makes me love him. remember that this is an interest, something that makes you happy, and not your object of study, or your career in politics. enjoy it all for you, enjoy it offline as well. and then, i guess, if that doesn't do the trick, a few steps away from harry and all that surrounds him might be necessary to let go of the bitterness. bc you can also just stop liking something, and that's also okay

a little while ago on twitter the idea was spreading that if this was lebron james he would have been back already. that's stupid. had this been lebron james, it would have been worse because the united states and russia are not on good terms and moreover the united states is actively resisting russia as they go to war with ukraine. unlike when trump was president (who was kissing putin's ass) biden is not. therefore any opportunity russia can use to hurt us, they will. the fact that she's a high-profile black woman is just a plus for them because they know that arresting her, jailing her will flare up many levels of tension in america including racial. and they can use that to their advantage in many ways. so would this happen to a white person? we already know the answer is yes because it already has but that person isn't a high-profile athlete therefore it didn't make the news. would this happen to a high-profile white athlete? yes. would this happen to a high-profile black athlete? absolutely. cuz the point is to embarrass, harm, and riled shit up against biden. if russia got their hands on lebron james in the exact same circumstance, they would be dancing behind doors because he is the highest-profile athlete plus he's black plus he's a liberal. they would be parading him around. it would be crazy.

never forget that one of the principal goals of russia is to always embarrass america because america is a democracy (kinda) while russia is a communist country. so russia is always looking for opportunities to point at america and say "hey look at this thing called democracy and how bad and weak it is, we don't want to be like that." so this becomes just another opportunity for them to do so. all that being said biden got to do what he's got to do to get her back. and for all the people who are like "she commit a crime so she has to pay the consequences," these are the same people who think all those (mosty white) ppl who try to commit an insurrection on january 6th are heros who should be let go and that chick ashli babbitt or whatever her name is is a martyr. so fuck them.

I agree with everything you said in your response to that ask. It's obvious Chaggie wasn't something she was always going for. What confuses me is her mindset of, well now that it's canon, I don't have to put in any work for this ship. Excuse me? What? Has Viv never shipped before. That's not how canon works. You have to make ppl care about the ship and she or the writers haven't done that. How is Chaggie good enough to become canon because of some fanart but not good enough for you to flesh out their relationship for ppl to care about? That's dumb as hell. For all that, she should've had them stay platonic. I'm not even a Chaggie shipper but the fact that the creator of this ship doesn't even care about them is disgusting. Nobody told her to make them happen. She did that herself.

Let's be honest, she's likely been on the internet long enough to know what shipping is, explaining her more cavalier attitude on fans shipping which used to be the norm. Her "ship what you want but don't be a dick to other people" attitude is precisely what old fandom used to be like before the influx of what I can only describe as normies decided they wanted to be a part of fandom.

See, the thing about the old internet (and by that I mean before the rise of mainstream social media platforms like Facebook, insta, Twitter, etc.) the internet by and large was by nerds for nerds. We kept the shit we liked online to ourselves irl and we definitely didn't talk directly to creators because it was understood that there was an invisible line we knew not to cross. You didn't harass actors or writers trying to get what you want. But the rise of mainstream meant the rise of accessibility to creators, and the trolls morphed into something much worse.

Look up the fiasco with Alex Brightman during the height of Beetlejuice on Broadway. The poor man was stalked, harassed, and asked over and over again if he condoned Beetlebabes, a ship which had kept that fandom alive for well over 30 years. Until he eventually released a statement so carefully combed over by PR experts only the people who lack media literacy took it at face value. It didn't reflect any previous attitudes he had on anything, and moreover it doesn't align with his current views considering the projects he's actively working on. In reality I don't think the man really gives a shit what people ship he was just sick of the harassment and likely worried that public outcries of him being a pedophile because of a fictional ship because he didn't actively condemn it and call for the harassment of people who did like it would ruin his career.

I have several friends who have come to hazbin from Beetlejuice, and many of them have met him pre pandemic. All of them say he's a lovely and sweet man with a good sense of humor. But imagine going through all he went through for over a year. Viv, and I hate to say it, went through something similar. I was pissed to find out toxic charlastor shippers on Twitter were harassing her to make it canon. So if that ship squicks her out now? I honestly don't blame her. Things are even more sticky with wlw or any gay relationships where you legitimately aren't allowed to portray them as complex or problematic. One thing I've noticed in particular is that male and straight ships are allowed to be as grossly sexualized as anything but women (or femme identified characters) cannot.

Look at all the chaggie art, not a single sexual thing. Even their official pinup stuff is fairly tame. Look at the Vees, despite the fact that velvette is an adult woman who died and is dating... Valentino I think? All the fandom sees is two gay dads and their uwu not sexually active daughter. Same with radioapple come to think of it, Charlie becomes a fully non sexual, almost Madonna figure in relation to the overt sexual nature of the gay ships. I'm guessing some of that still internalized homophobia and kink phobia coupled with sexist attitudes of what women can and cannot be interested in. Lesbian ships cannot be interested in sex, they must be pure and good. Meanwhile there's no end to overtly sexual art of the gay ships across the hellaverse. And the fans get rabid when any female ship isn't innately good and pure.

Another real world example; people flipped their shit when catradora became explicitly canon at the end of the she ra reboot. Because catra had gone through a corruption arc before a redemption one and therefore was forever culpable for the crimes she committed when in an obvious downward mental spiral after a life raised under an abusive mother figure and being abandoned by the person closest to her, and the major brainwashing of the Horde, but we don't have time to unpack all that. Ironic that in a show all about second chances and becoming better than the person you were these attitudes are still pervasive and ugly huh?

To a certain extent I think Viv has been on the internet long enough that she's seen what happens to creators who don't "perfectly" encapsulate a gay romance. Which means that it's unique while also being applicable to everyone. Totally an achievable standard right? (Insert sarcastic eye roll here). For her, I think making chaggie as boring in canon as possible was probably the safest move she could think of. I will critique it from a writing standpoint but overall it was the smartest choice to avoid backlash. I still prefer Vaggie/Emily and charlastor because it's two vastly most interesting dynamics, but I get why the writers might have been wary.

Sorry for the rant but unfortunately the depiction of chaggie wasn't created solely in a vacuum and there's a lot of cross fandom history context that needed to be brought up to explain why chaggie is the animated tofu of hazbin hotel ships.

I know I haven't been active since a good long while ago and that is cus I've moved to a more mature blog/blogs that fit my interests a bit more then this one. I only come back here to let the people who follow me and are mutuals with me that I will leave this blog unactive, for a few reasons. One of them is just that I'm not as connected to this blog as I use to be the other one is what I'll get into. This information is already on place like youtube and twitter, and somewhat on here. But regardless I still feel the need to talk about it. These are videos that should help explain why I'm not only leaveing hti s blog but also why I'll be taking a small step back from the undertale and undertale au community. [pt1, pt2] I am disgusted that this is a norm here. Because not only do the big top dogs do this kind of shit, but the smaller ones as well. And I won't blame the game or the aus for it, but please can this community get it's act together? There are too many grown adults going around here talking to CHILDREN in the most vile ways. I have been a mod in an utau server and had to deal with adults being disgusting towards me and my friends [all minors at the time]. Why is this so common and why is swept under the rug allowed to keep going? 1 person supposrting these ppl still, is too many, but 50-100+? 100 people who would rather children be prayed upon then even dare go a day without their percious au animations? And I can no longer comfortable saying that I'm apart of this fandom anymore. It sickens me to my core that there are still ppl defending and supporting, Camila, Nyx, Jaki. So I'm leaving this blog and taking a break from the fandom. If you are a minor in this fandom or any, and you see this, please stay safe. If an adult flirts or talks sexual to you, if you can, screenshot, record, tell another adult, report them, block them, get away from them. They are not your friend. They are an adult that does not need to be speaking that way to you. And if they try to guilt you, rather that be with getting their friends/followers to bully you or with taking ur own life, just get you evidence and don't bother contacting them anymore. There are adults and groups of people who can help you and support you and give you more saftey tips. One of those people being a youtuber by the name Lio convoy and the small group he works with. There are other groups like him that you can go to and they can help you file a report or at the very least, make sure that person isn't allowed to show their face on any platform. I feel now but heartache for the victims of this disgusting situation and wish them nothing but peace of mind and justice . And as harsh as it may sound, I hope that Veir, Artty-chan, Camile, Nyx, Jaki, and all the other scum who partook and/or kept quite about this rot and burn. This is absolutly disgusting and I hope that something like this dosen't happen again.

It’s the fact Elton blamed snc for the hate comments, he said they are telling their fans that. Not okay and just trying to make snc look bad. I don’t think it’s appropriate that the fans are sending him hate, but saying they are coming from snc themselves it’s dumb

this might end up being super fucking long so i'm sorry in advance.

i read thru elton's replies on twitter and there was really only one that made it seem like he could have been implying what you're saying.

i'm gonna believe that he was just mixing up his words bc i can't fathom him legitimately believing that snc are telling fans to be hateful towards him. they don't even mention him unless necessary, let alone tell fans lies about him and then tell them to spread the lies and send hate. i'm just gonna assume he meant something else bc he's a lot smarter than that.

so… i have always had a lot of opinions about elton. we all know this. i've jokingly said that this is an elton hate zone, but i'm gonna pull that back for a moment so i can really lay out how all of this is fucked up in both directions, if that makes any sense. i'm even gonna refrain from calling him old or any names really. i'm just gonna state the actual facts about all of this.

elton doesn't deserve hate. sure, he does things that i will never comprehend towards actual fans of his (like being really snappy or in the past outright blocking fans that criticized him). i mean, even on his newest video, you can go to his comment section and see ppl that actually sat thru the video and watched make comments criticizing the video and he responds back like they insulted his mother. even tho i don't agree with him or the way he interacts with fans, i still don't think he deserves hate. no one deserves death threats. no one deserves lies being spread about them, especially some of the ones i've seen about him on tiktok that eventually move onto twitter. but let's be honest here. let's have an open and honest conversation.

elton started a war he didn't think was gonna go for as long as it has. elton was not an innocent bystander that all of sudden started getting hate for breathing in snc's direction. that's not what happened.

snc came out with 25x25 and elton immediately stuck his nose where it didn't belong. he believed that they were stealing his content, tfil. reality is, that's not what happened. we physically can see everything they put out for 25x25 and none of it was ripped off or is in the same style as tfil. elton jumped the gun and believed fans who heard snc describe the content they were going to make (bc elton started this before snc had even filmed anything) and ran with it. he constantly would make comments about them copying and then eventually seemed to do the same with cerro gordo and other places snc went to. elton moved onto overnight when corey moved out, and snc had just started to ghost hunting again not too long after. elton then felt like they were in direct competition and made it his mission to put out as much content as possible, faster than snc, so that he could be seen as better. this later came back to bite him in the ass when he had 18 videos back logged and no editors and nothing to post for halloween weekend. he argued that he and corey were the only real ghost hunters in la when fazerug wanted to collab with someone. elton would go silent on snc for a while, and then pop back up with something else or some other random shade to throw in snc's direction.

all the while, snc were minding their business and making content.

there was a long period of time when elton was doing all of this bs that fans weren't picking up on it. i remember being one of the few that actively didn't like elton and i was an outlier. i remember arguing with ppl as to why elton was a dick bc a lot of his shit went unnoticed for a while. but then in 2022 is when ppl really started noticing the shit he pulled, especially when it became apparent that they were never gonna collab with each other ever again.

if elton truly felt slighted by what snc did, he should have talked to them behind the scenes. is it possible that he tried and snc blew him off or something else happened? yes, of course. i'm not gonna pretend that snc can't be dicks too. everyone has their shitty moment. but what we know, elton is the one that looks obsessed bc he's still shitting on a friendship that hasn't existed since 2020. if something happened bts, we don't know. share with the class there elton, and maybe ppl would side with you. you have made everything else a public affair.

what i think happened is that elton can't accept that he is no longer the bigger content creator. snc weren't always popular. there was a period of time when snc were smaller than elton and not as well known. the reason i know of snc is bc of elton. but i think that went to elton's head, and he can't accept that snc are bigger than him and technically "competition" even tho they aren't. and the moment he thought that they could succeed in a field he had plans to leave anyway (bc he did plan to shut down tfil and turn it into a documentary channel but that failed so he had to go back to travel vlogging), that was when he felt burned by snc. and if he didn't act the way he did, he could have coasted off of being known as snc's friend for a long time. but instead, he burned a bridge that didn't need to be burned. he shot himself in the foot and blamed everyone else around him.

all of this being said, the shit that has transpired on tiktok is really bad. idk why fans started lying about elton. idk if this is just backlogged old fans that want to start shit, idk if this is young fans that are reading into things that didn't happen. idk if it's fans that read too many fanfics and took it to heart. i'm not sure and i never will be. but what i do know is that there are fans on tiktok that lie about elton and it just becomes one long ass game of telephone.

elton has never made colby show self-harm scars. the pranks he pulled on snc were not that bad - snc were literally apart of the killing best friend prank aka the worse prank ever as dubbed by the internet. they signed off on the prank wars and what elton did. colby has admitted to a fan that elton never damaged his car. surprise! some pranks aren't real.

if you wanna dislike elton, you can - just actually dislike him for shit that really occurred. don't make up shit about him. and especially don't send him death threats.

and to any of elton's fans that think snc need to say something about this, i agree with you to a point. the thing is, even if snc come out and say something, it's not gonna stop the hate. case and point, literally any girl colby has ever been friends with. not to mention, elton has a tenth of the amount of subs that snc have. snc have more subs than there are ppl in the city of new york…… they can't control that many ppl. the best course of action is literally to tell fans they are wrong when they lie, and then report and block them. at this point, we have to govern our own fandom. snc can only do so much. snc are lovely ppl who are nice, but for some reason they attract the worse fucking fans. and this has been an issue long before elton.

if you, currently reading this, don't like elton - please just block him and move on. it is that simple. do not argue with me on this. just block him. there is nothing more to it. i don't pay attention to him at all anymore. i get told when he does shit and check it out for myself then. otherwise, i truly forget he exists. sending hate to him isn't gonna do anything except reflect poorly on snc. so just stop it.

on series 14: I kinda lumped it together with the 60th special because I have only been hearing news and am unable to properly place them with one or the other. Here are the things I am mainly concerned about:

RTD bringing back everyone from last time and (apparently?) actively keeping new talent at bay. Moffat and Murray Gold are the biggest names and yes I loved their work and yes I understand they're buddies. But the thing I liked about Chibnall's era was the attempt to let more diverse voices speak as writers and directors. Both rtd1 and Moffat era have flaws (chibnall's too obv, but I don't think he will be involved from now on?) and we should have learnt from them. The biggest takeaway should have been that we need more input from different writers/directors/people in charge of decisions. And so far it seems like series 14/the 60th is actively preventing that. Also, Murray Gold's music is amazing but we've had 10 series of that. We could give someone else a chance! (This rejection of change is my main point of concern tbh but it's a big one)

Conected to that I am concerned about racism. Especially rtd1 is - not great with that. And we'll be having our first full-time black Doctor. Luckily, it sounds like Ncuti was able to add to the role and decide some things. But if everybody writing for him is white? (not saying that they are but I've yet to hear the opposite) I am afraid how that will go down. There's already been that unfortunate (to put it lightly) bit about the announcement in a twitter post and the wrong regeneration plus numbering issue, making Ncuti be overshadowed by both David and Millie. That's not a good start. So, I sincerely hope they will do better from now on but as I said, reason for concern.

Again, connected to that. Rose. Oh God. I hope the name is just a coincidence that will go without further comment. Do not have a second woman of colour be forced into the shadow of Rose Tyler. Please.

Ruby. I actually thought Rose would be travelling with the Doctor, so in the beginning I was just confused. And since then I've been kinda bored? I mean, Millie's sweet. But I was hoping for an alien companion. Or a proper old companion. Or a literal child. Or a single male companion. Or a black companion. Literally anything but yet another young, white woman. We've had that so many times now? But like, honestly, this is a weaker concern. I'm still hoping she might be an alien after all and even if she isn't, it'll be fine. I've loved every single companion until now, I'll love her, too.

The clothes. There's the obvious thing with the regenerating suit but also the other outfits have left me kinda baffled? Since when does the Doctor know how to dress? But I mean, maybe it's an incarnation thing or maybe Ruby is just a really good influence. I'll take it, at least it looks beautiful.

Several of the things happening ( the regenerating suit, the old writers+Gold, the way press has been handling it (!) ) , also feels to me like they're trying very hard to forget about Chibnall Who. To make it seem like it never happened. Maybe that's paranoia but I think there were some really beautiful takeaways from 13 and her run (first and foremost how explicity nonbinary the Doctor is) that I am afraid might get erased/hidden now. I mean, canon is flexible in dw anyway and that's a good thing. But 13 is important to me and I want her to be honoured and remembered suitably.

Now, as I said, these are merely concerns. Not unfounded, I guess, but I am ready for the show to prove me wrong. I hope series 14 will be everything we hope for and that I'll be able to laugh about my ridiculous fears from above once it takes off. But, well, for now I remain only very cautiously optimistic.

Okay yeah, in terms of ppl working on the show, I agree that there's vibes of them making RTD2 have RTD1 vibes. I think the main RTD1 team being back makes some amount of sense bc I guess RTD just likes to work with the same group of ppl and they presumably all work at Bad Wolf together, and Moffat potentially doing an ep or two won't bother me as long as the line up of writers isn't just made up of returning writers (which I'd like to think it won't be). Murray Gold being back is probably the thing I'm most not happy about bc I think it's idk, cowardly? lazy? boring? to decide to bring him back instead of seeking out new talent. I saw some ppl be like 'well we need someone who we know can do good DW music' and I'm like... why are you acting like composers are rare as hell like I'm sure there's plenty out there that would've loved to work on Doctor Who but now they don't have the chance bc RTD brought back the same guy whose already done 10 seasons. I don't think it's the end of the world bc yeah I like Gold's stuff too but there will always be part of me, regardless of how good his new stuff is, that will be a bit bitter than RTD didn't get someone new in for S14 onwards. I think it makes sense for Gold to do the 60th, that's kinda fun, but past that it's like... why.

I defo agree about the racism concern. RTD1 isn't great with it at all. I always think about that bit in The Shakespeare Code where Ten tells Martha to walk around like she owns the place and the fact it's in an era ran by the person who is now in charge of our first main black Doctor. The general treatment of both Martha and Mickey is awful at times as well. I think I'm just kinda assuming/hoping that he's grown/learnt over the last however many years and will take more care with things. Bc I am interested to see how being black effects how the Doctor is able to get by in some situations and if we get some Shakespeare Code bs every time he's in that kind of situation I'll lose my mind a little bit. and yeah if RTD doesn't bring in at least a couple of black writers that will be genuinely weird as hell imo. Like even if the Doctor wasn't black, I think it's important for the show to keep trying to bring in diverse writers, new talent, etc, but especially now that the Doctor is black, a big ass team of white writers would be odd.

Honestly I think no matter why Rose Temple-Noble is called Rose - if it's a coincidence put in there purely for 14 to have a shock reaction or if it has some explanation within the story - I think RTD casting a black trans woman and naming her character Rose is ridiculous and I'll never be fully on board with it. There's literally been articles calling her Rose Tyler and imo it's very possible it has just increased the amount of hate Yasmin Finney has had thrown her way bc ppl don't like the idea of someone else (probably especially a black and/or trans woman) being called Rose or replacing Rose Tyler (even though that isn't what she's doing). I honestly find that interesting bc one of RTD's reasons for not wanting to have DT wear 13's outfit was bc he didn't want tabloids to run with it and stir up more transphobia but he has no issue casting the first trans actor in the show and giving her the name of one of the most beloved characters the show has ever seen??

Yeah I don't really feel much of anything towards Ruby rn. I'll probs like her once we see her in episodes bc I tend to like all companions but rn I'm just in awe at how unoriginal RTD has been in his character creation of a white blonde teenage girl who has a four letter name that means red and is, as far as I know, from London. Feels like 2005 all over again. the main thing that I've heard that I think sounds fun is how they've described 15 and Ruby's relationship as sibling-like.

14 not wearing 13's clothes is something I will be salty about forever and based on RTD's DWM explanation I think some of his reasoning for it was really not great despite what he says about it being out of concern for giving tabloids a reason to be more transphobic than they already are. I'm not about to analyse what he said rn bc this is getting long enough but the vibes are off imo. 15 is definitely way too fashion conscious like yeah the outfits for the most part look great but they don't scream Doctor to me at all. I also don't love that he so far doesn't seem to have a signature outfit, he's always in something different.

Tbh I think chances are the big step away from 13's eras that seems to be happening is probably bc RTD wants his new era to feel like a good stepping in point for the show (which is a thing I can't stand) but it doesn't worry me too much bc the show has obviously done that kinda thing before.

There's a couple things I will always be not too happy about but yeah most stuff atm is very dependant on how things go over the next year-ish. I'm really hoping all of these concerns just get washed away and RTD2 is amazing, and tbh I'm hopeful that it will be amazing and most of this stuff will end up not being an issue, but I don't think that means we're not allowed to have these thoughts rn yknow? Like I'm more than capable of changing mind as more info comes out and I'll gladly do that for these things.

SAG AFTRA issued a statement in favor of supporting Israel and twitter was going batshit condemning writers and also actors, suddenly the whole support for the strike became empty in ppl's eyes due to the state of politics.

I am unaware of this. As a general rule I'm not a fan of people airing out their opinions or even being expected to air out their opinions about everything under the sun but especially highly sensitive issues such as these for nothing but posturing. That's all. I saw some dumfuck post about history asking you what you did to stop the genocide. Keep your answers ready or whatever. And I'm like. Tell me what you did apart from a stupid Tumblr post abt your (not really) bleeding heart.

Mine may be an unpopular opinion but I do judge people who make it so that expressing their opinion on each and every sensitive issue of the day in public is their whole personality and making it a metric of judging people but most importantly propping themselves up.

If you're not out there doing shit then you aren't doing shit. Period. Please don't delude yourself into thinking that a name.txt post is you contributing towards the cause. Get off the high unicorn.

If SAG-AFTRA has done this, it's yet another incident of sticking it in the wrong place. Not everyone has the bandwidth of understanding everything. In fact, no one has that. And sometimes shutting the fuck up is good and recommended.

There's no need to add to the cacophony. As could be seen earlier more was made of what a celeb says instead of idk devoting that time to asking themselves what they did to stop the genocide for their history test or whatever.

My anger has and always will be for people wearing causes like designer bags. In this season, out the next. You're cool if you're wearing it and fuck off if you're not on it yet. How dare you.

That's what's happening. That is the long and short of it. I too have been a part of this posturing crowd in my youth but it was stupid then and it's stupid now. (I talk about myself preemptively answering any ask that may try to counter me on this daftest of points.)

The changing of the profile picture, the hashtags, they do nothing. If you're not converging with black armbands on the road, it's not a protest. If your work was done as you lay on the bed holding in or letting out a fart it's not work. Activism involves activity. And therefore, idgaf abt the discount slacktivists who tweet or tumble in the way one lies about speaking French on their CV.

Celebrities, non-celebrities, organisations not in the service of serving the cause, etc. can all go fuck off. An opinion is an opinion and it may be right or wrong. But it cannot take precedence over reality. You hate someone's opinion - then you want to hate them - but no you want them to first learn and apologise - and yet you want to hate them - or maybe you don't - and that will be your personality for a while. And guess what the issue was never what one fucker thought about something. The issue was always that *something*. And that something wasn't glamorous enough a 100 years ago and it isn't now.

We'd much rather engage in debating a reaction to a thing than understand that in the grand scheme of things a right and a wrong opinion both hold the same weight of a grand total of nothing. Because none of us is DOING anything. Poseurs the whole lot of us.

SAG-AFTRA put out a statement. Did it take a vote of its members to see if they agreed? If they took a vote was the vote split published? Why does an opinion on a geopolitical conflict have any bearing on the demand for better working conditions of members in an entirely different geographical location and vice versa?

Right now. At this moment. I could be pro either party or neutral or whatever and it would do nothing for nobody. Zilch. Anyone feeling otherwise about their own opinion is STUPID.

The witchhunting never stopped. We have more candidates that qualify for being witches and even more witchhunters now. And that's the main sport. That's the cause. Everything else is in assistance of. At least on twitter. N I guess even Tumblr now.

Before any asshole chimes in, I'm not talking about people doing the work. I'm talking about people who think they'd be deemed mute if they don't speak for once.

So I don't care for the opinions of anyone who's not a man on the ground. I just don't. Neither should anybody tbh.

hi gen time for the annual me explaining something since im seeing ppl in your asks not knowing. scutes is a name for a group of friends that formed from the very first hermitblr discord server back in 2018. this was even before evil xisuma fanclub which was the first *big* one. eventually scutes just became a private group of friends not related to hermitcraft. that's it. uhf- underrated hermit fanclub- was a separate public server made a bit later on, of which about half the mods were also in the scutes server.

back then many of us were against shipping, including myself, but everyone who was has either left a long time ago, is now neutral on it, or a shipper themselves.

after the events i described in this ask: <https://aroaceacacia.tumblr.com/post/660177626185580544/heyo-just-read-through-your-whole-2019-tag-and> , the people who left hermitzine's original organizing committee mostly being in the scutes discord server, and me complaining about what happened in what was again, a private chat with friends, several of miles' friends started publicly saying awful crap about us as a group. at that time a good chunk of people weren't even active in the hermitcraft fandom and of those who were most of them had nothing to do with this. their main thing was accusing us of "fandom policing" due to a few of us who were anti-ship at the time also having that same mindset about drawing the hermits doing drugs, which for some reason was a thing a lot of other anti-ship people were really into doing at the time. they also spread a lot of blatant lies, most prominent one being that we excused x's transphobia at the time because we didn't openly hate on him. (in actuality we were some of the first to publicly confront him about it both in the chat live of that stream while it was happening and afterwards on twitter, so no clue where they were coming from on that)

pretty much until the incident with cleo when they all finally left tumblr, this continued on and off. it did mostly just take place in various discords after the initial wave of them making tumblr posts, but it was still really bad at times. there were many specific incidents that i won't get in to because i wasn't at the center of them and it may bring up a lot of bad things for those who were. they're not my stories to tell.

i'll also mention two more things. miles did try to apologize to me early on in all this, before any of this escalated and was just a dumb argument over how to run a zine. i refused to accept his apology because i saw it as insincere when he had refused any of the compromises on how the zine should be run. second is that once the harassment on tumblr started i asked for advice on what to do in joe's patreon discord. joe was one of the people who responded, and at the time his response was pretty much just questioning why it was a problem and not really understanding the power structure of decentralized fandom. miles caught wind of this somehow and tried to get me to tell joe that what i had said wasn't true. something that i obviously refused to do.

i don't care about miles anymore, don't go trying to confront him about any of this or anything please. ive since gotten back into therapy (i wasnt at the time this all happened which def did not help the situation) and this is in the past. but a lot of other people have wounds that are still in the process of healing from this and would rather it not be talked about, especially by people who weren't involved in it, which is why there's been little to no public documentation of it.

Also what confuses me more is H talking so much about the movies in the interview. He should have said "great experience can't say much aboutit yet"(since it wasn'tan interview planned from the director, mp's at least)...I mean if I was the director I would be pissed bc everyone was excited about this movie (mostly ppl who don't care about harry) and he's just bringing drama to it. Also it's damaging his image for future movie works( ..if he wants to do one again)

Ehhh, tbh he literally said one sentence about dwd, the rest was the leech talking which only made it obvious they got Harry this cover so that they can push her, her persona, this sorry excuse of a relationship and that flop movie. In a way, I am glad this backlash is happening because hshq needed a slap in the face - a team consisting of a bunch of talentless and arrogant nepo babies who thought they could do everything they want and people would be licking their asses, I hope Jeff has been crying picking up calls since yesterday, considering how much they fucked up promo for MP. Harry was all over twitter yesterday as a meme of a straight no homo dude being repulsed by any gay activities and I can guarantee you that if they release the trailer for MP soon and any intimacy will be shown between Harry's and David's characters, the memes will come back and no one will take this movie seriously.

I am praying this is a wake up call for Harry regarding his team and oh-so-lovely best friend of a manager that they don't have his best interest at heart and that what they have Harry do to satisfy everyone and their mother is just not worth it. He could have all of this and much more if they just let him be himself but Jeff is too lazy to even try.
