Not so random wrassle gibberish.
Because I’m going to level with you.  I half saw some of this coming.  For those who don’t know, WWE is literally diluting its own trademarks and getting away with it in the name of being “PG” and “Family Friendly.”  And their excuse is that basically Vincent McMahon Junior and CEOs and advertisers--rich bitch old men like him, basically--are a squeamish and weak-kneed lot who can’t take it anymore.  No really, McMahon has admitted as much on Twitter.
So what do they do, now?  They bury their business, whole entire Pay Per Views at a time, and no, I REFUSE to use the new name for them, there was almost NOTHING “premium” about the series of unchecked wet farts and outright bowel accidents masquerading as “sports entertainment” tonight.  The first event, the women’s Triple Threat Match, was easily the best thing of the night--you could have turned off your set after the first match and literally have missed nothing.
But nah, people have to hype this up with “new arrivals” that never happen because otherwise it’s a shit-show.  Enter the burial and dismissal of Hell in a Cell.  I’m not even going to dignify most of the drivel in between the beginning and the end of this, except to say that Baron Corbin did a solid job of putting Create-A-Wrestler-Mode Moss over as a serious threat.  That match belonged in a Pay Per View.  The others, mostly not so much.  And they weren’t Cell matches, as per the title.
The match that WAS a Cell match?  Controversial for all the wrong reasons.  People on the Commentary Team spent the WHOLE Pay-Per View hyping up that Cody Rhodes was injured, torn pectoral, maybe torn biceps, hurt bad, and yet nobody said the obvious things: That the ONE and ONLY Cell match of Hell in a CELL was cancelled, or that Rhodes was at a hospital already, or who his replacement was.  This led a lot of people to suspect fakery, kayfaybe, Special K, whatever you call it in your time zone.  That’s fine and part of the business, to a point.
What wasn’t fine was clearing Rhodes to “wrestle” like he appeared to be.  He literally appeared to be massively injured with a torn pectoral and high on painkillers to compensate.  Half of his chest was black and red with deep wounds, and yet somehow he was supposed to wrestle, in a Hell in a Cell (hardcore giant cage) match with ONE ARM. And somehow he won.  Edit/Update:  Well things changed quickly.  Apparently Rhodes did stick around for an off-air thank-you/promo after his match, and the next day WWE personnel did downgrade the injury itself from “hanging off the BONE” according to Commentary, to a “partial tear in his pectoral”.  So there was a LOT of hype and exaggeration.  The injury was bound, iced up and numbed out until the last second, but perhaps NOT body-painted to look worse.  Nonetheless it did visually GET worse as the match wore on.  I think my point still stands, that this was a decision by WWE to make their ONE Cell match as repugnant as possible.
Well, WWE normally has an airtight injury protocol.  People suffering gym injuries are just plain yanked out of matches immediately and on a no-questions asked basis.  So what purpose does it serve to have Rhodes do this?  IF his injury is as bad as it seems, then it’s just gotten worse and he may have ended his wrestling career.  IF it isn’t, then it sends a message of a different sort: that WWE will stop at nothing to ruin their reputations entirely, seem as inhuman as possible, if it ruins a Pay Per View Event for a generation or two.
No really, 99 percent of the fanbase on Tumblr are decent human beings and appalled that Rhodes was even allowed to show up.  I want to be a decent person alongside them but after seeing this company put their Extreme Rules event through a similar screw-job, and then selling out their Elimination Chamber and TLC brand events to make them Saudi Shows (a.k.a. untouchable), I have to ask, what did they put Rhodes through to get that mess done!?!  Did they just load him up on painkillers and send him out with a reminder to “not bleed out?”  Did they take a small bruise, numb the hell out of it and his arm too, and then shellac the side of his chest with Finn Balor’s allowance of Body Paint and tell him to “ham it up until the first three rows puke?”  What even?  Because IF Rhodes was that badly hurt, there could be lawsuits, or, Cody Rhodes could just as easily take a Bayley Clause in his contract and go into “rehab hibernation” for two years or so until the whole world forgets who the fuck he was.  He could do that, get his contract frozen and get WWE to pro-rate his pay while he’s on the couch at home.  None of this makes any sense in the context of “Yes, he was that badly hurt and he was allowed to DO THAT.”  WWE isn’t that stupid, and Cody Rhodes has too much ego to end his career TONIGHT, like that. Nah, this only makes sense in the “Let’s use a slight injury, blown up to HUGE proportions, to completely sicken the crowd and make them HATE the Hell in a Cell concept.”  It’s ridiculous that I have to be that paranoid about this shit, but the last time I wasn’t this paranoid, Chris Benoit really did snap and murder his wife, child and himself.  And I was caught off-guard.  And I mostly stayed away from the wrassle for a decade plus.  So yeah.  Pardon my paranoia and cynicism.
Short Version: THAT series of events had no business happening and it’s set pro wrestling back at least two decades, just like Vincent JUNIOR planned it.  It’s shameful.

Zosan Wrestling AU
Tumblr media
- Although many agree that Zoro is more entertaining as a heel, many also feel that he has potential to be a baby face due to the Roronoa family angle that played out and led to his first heel turn. Zoro got praised for his acting skills and many felt sorry for him even after he finally turned heel
- Sanji is almost always Zoro’s kryptonite. Even though Zoro successfully turned on Sanji, he was visibly emotionally torn. On one hand, he finally gets the big shot at the World Heavyweight championship and on the other hand, he lost the man he loved. That love ended up saving Zoro because he finally turned face after so many years as a heel and has remained that way ever since
- Sanji himself turned heel that night and that gave birth to one of the rare few heel vs heel feuds and a very interesting one at that. Sanji turned face after Hell in a cell
- Each of the Four Horsemen have a winning streak associated with a PPV:
Zoro: Wrestlemania and Hell in a Cell
Gojo: Elimination Chamber
Yusuke: Fastlane
Sanji: Backlash
- Zoro acknowledged his and Sanji’s real life marriage during an interview: “Babe get well soon and get that allergy to tap out!!” A lot of fans were delighted by this because Zoro the character calls Sanji the character babe
-The second time their marriage gets acknowledged is during the feud with Giorno that led to the streak getting broken
- Zoro has the most championship wins of the Horsemen at 14
- Zoro has torn his quads multiple times to the point where there are memes about it
- Sanji stole Zoro’s stomp finisher during a match. Zoro found it adorable and stole Sanji’s spear finisher
- There was supposed to be an angle which got teased months prior that would have led to a feud between Dio and Kars vs Zosan. That did not happen because Dio was involved in a car accident on his way to the arena. Thankfully Dio lived but was seriously injured for months
- The episode where Sanji and Zoro finally put aside their differences and made up and kissed was the highest rated episode in the history of Smackdown.
- People often compare them to Dio and Kars. Dio finds it adorable as Sanji reminds him of him at times. Kars acts like a dad to Zoro and ironically the Roronoa storyline revolves around Zoro having demonic heritage courtesy of Kars making Kars his kayfabe dad
- Doflamingo, Dio and Mihawk gave Zoro the talk behind the scenes because Sanji was a virgin at the time and Zoro needed to be schooled on how to take it easy with his beau and at the same time have fun. Zoro jokes about that incident a lot.
- Sanji got the talk from his mum, Tsunade and Jiraiya
- Zoro suffers most of the worst bumps of the gang. Like he does hardcore matches a lot and has take a lot of unprotected chair shots to the head and got severe concussions. Sanji gets put through tables and chairs a lot but not to the brutal extent of Zoro
- The worst injury for Sanji was that time he smacked his head hard into the turnbuckle and was bleeding at the back. He lost consciousness after that and was taken out for medical treatment
- Zoro’s fave match is his Hell in a cell match with Sanji
- Zoro loves being a heel as it gives him a nice challenge to be out of character for once
- Zoro’s win streak at Wrestlemania ended once Giorno defeats him. The Hell in a cell one ended after Kars banished him to the depths of Hell. Kars would pay for that weeks later

I dont know if this is a weird question but how did you get into wrestling also who’s your favorite wrestler? (Mine is Kenny Omega)
Hi! Not a weird question at all!
So I'm one of those odd people who actually got into wrestling through video games! (But so did Shinsuke Nakamura, so I'm in good company!) I love a good character creator (can literally spend hours in them) and a YouTuber I watched at the time (thanks NerdCubed) was covering the WWE 2k games. Needless to say, my mind was blown. I decided I *needed* to buy it, even though I had no interest in wrestling at the time... And I loved it!
Then at about the same time (2015) some uni friends and I had started playing the old Smackdown vs. RAW games on an old PS2, and we were having so much fun that we decided we should watch some actual wrestling! Our first PPV was WWE Hell in a Cell 2015. We had such a blast that we ended up staying up until 5am for every PPV after that (oh to be 20 again – it would literally kill me if I tried to do that now). I fell *deep* into the wrestling rabbit hole after that (thanks, suspected neurodivergence) and 8 years later... here we are!
As for NJPW specifically, I started watching in 2019 because I'd quit WWE cold turkey and I needed something to fill the gap. (I'd always promised that I'd stop watching if they brought back noted racist Hulk Hogan... and then they did. So I had to follow through.) But I'd already realised through watching NXT that I preferred other styles of wrestling to the main roster WWE style, so it was the best thing that's happened to me as a wrestling fan really!
As for my favourite wrestler... it depends on when you ask me tbh! There are so many great wrestlers out there and I find it really hard to narrow it down to just one. Kenny is up there for me too, definitely. He's so damn good. But if you forced me to choose right now, I'd probably (after much complaining and indecision) have to say Zack Sabre Jr! He's on such a tear right now, and I adore his technical style. Plus his promos crack me up and I like his politics and taste in music.
But honourable mentions to Eddie Kingston, Bryan Danielson, Tomohiro Ishii, Shingo Takagi, Willow Nightingale and Jamie Hayter (pls come back soon), and Sami Zayn who was my first favourite. Plus many more who I'm sure I've forgotten!
Sorry for the long-winded answer – I didn't have time to write a shorter one! Hope that answers your questions though!

Can you do head cannons for a young male wrestler(19 or 20) dating John cena and the read becoming the first open gay WWE champion?
Of course!! Sorry it took me so long to get these done, work has been kicking my ass!
Tumblr media
You had been number one contender to the world title four times before, an impressive feat for being 20.
As the youngest son of Vince and Linda, everyone assumed you got everything handed to you on a silver platter which couldn’t be further from the truth
At the age of 17 when you made your debut for the company you told your father that you wanted to do this on your own and be treated like the other superstars.
This was how you met John. He had come in for a match against Kurt Angle and lost, but you saw something in him and offered him some advice although he’d been wrestling longer than you, he took them in stride.
You and John being a couple was never a secret. You just never advertised it. You weren’t ashamed of who you were and that’s why John loved you
Your siblings were VERY supportive and so was your mom
Your dad didn’t really seem to care all that much when you came out. You were still his son and he loved you. But that doesn’t mean that he liked talking about it.
This lead to where you were now. Your boyfriend as WWE Champion and you as his number one contender.
In your three years of wrestling in your family’s promotion you had never faced your boyfriend
You and John were both very popular. He was one of the top baby faces and you were one of the top heels
It was hard on you both to feud but in the end it was so worth it
You had somehow managed to get the match changed to a Hell In A Cell match
A match type that you were undefeated in
In the buildup to the match you were decimating opponents left and right and so was John
This was almost a game for you both. This was a match that you were both told the outcome would be what the outcome would be. There wouldn’t be a scripted finish
You became a different person once you got into the cell. Nothing else mattered but destroying your opponent, even if your opponent was your boyfriend
You and John were main eventing the PPV and this was the match everyone was waiting for
You either tore the house down or put the crowd to sleep.
You and John tore the house down.
While John was used to mat wrestling and relying on his strength while you relied on your high flying moves and riskier spots.
As you both went on the fan's screaming got louder and louder.
The biggest moment of the match was when you hit your brother’s Coast to Coast move and then locked John into your submission the Guillotine
You and John knew this match was strictly business and it wouldn’t affect your relationship but as John faded slowly you couldn’t help but whisper “I’m sorry”
The minute the bell rang your ears started ringing. Even though you were the heel, the crowd was cheering for you
Raising that belt in the air felt euphoric, almost like the first time you and John were together intimately
You could see John slowly come to and even though he was disappointed he didn’t win the match, you could see in his eyes how proud he was of you
In a moment that you were sure would have your father red-faced, and send the shareholders into a frenzy, you helped John up to his feet and kissed him
On national television
in front of the fans watching around the world
the cheers that were slowly fading had erupted again
it was all over the newspapers for a few days
you and john couldn't give two fucks though
you were both happy that you could both fully be out together
Here you go, Justin! Sorry, it took so long, life kinda got in the way haha! Hope you enjoyed it!

Why I started watching WWE again
The earliest memory I have of professional wrestling is The Undertaker/Yokozuna feud. This fond memory was the catalyst to moulding my enjoyment to this form of entertainment.
Tumblr media
Years later I began watching WWE/WWF on a full-time basis because it was aired weekend mornings. The Stone Cole Steve Austin/Vince McMahon feud hooked me. As a child, it was an awesome to see an authority type figure getting their ass kicked. Both McMahon and Austin produced classics moments in wrestling history. I bought PPV’s on VHS such as St Valentine’s Day Massacre. I must of watched that tape a couple of times a day over the next few weeks.
WWE became a part of my life. I made it my business to watch Raw and Smackdown every week; I even watched Velocity and Sunday Night Heat. I couldn't get enough! I tried to get my hands on stuff from independents and in 2004 I did some pro wrestling training. But if WWE was such an important part of my life then why did I stop watching it?
2017 wasn’t the worst year in WWE. The Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens feud was fantastic, The Hardyz returned, Kurt Angle was inducted into the Hall of Fame, The Shield reunited, and Samoa Joe made his debut. Despite all of this, a babyface Roman Reigns just couldn’t get over and Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion. I’m not even going to go into the House of Horrors match, but it was something. But it’s OK to have bad moments. They can teach you to never repeat those mistakes again…or can they?
2018 was worse. Some moments left a bad taste in my mouth such as Dean Ambrose turning heel on his fellow Shield member, Seth Rollins. This was the same night that Roman announced that he had leukemia. What the fuck was Vince thinking? The storyline was uglier than a dog’s dinner. Dean would leave the company less than a year later. WWE also went into a controversial deal with Saudi Arabia. The Saudi PPV saw Shane McMahon win WWE World Cup tournament becoming the ‘’Best in the World’’.  This is the same PPV where Shawn Michaels came out of retirement for an awful tag team bout. The worst part to 2018 was on December 17, when Vince McMahon came to the ring followed by Stephanie McMahon, HHH and Shane. Stephanie would go on to say ‘’We haven’t been doing a good for you lately.’’ She would rattle on about not listening to us, the fans. We were told that we were now the authority. This was such a surreal moment.
Tumblr media
Months prior we got the first All In PPV that would eventually lead to the formation of All Elite Wrestling. The All In card was stacked and displayed some incredible matches that left me wanting more. I started to binge watch BTE on YouTube as well as a history The Bullet Club. I began to attend Irish wrestling shows from Over The Top Wrestling. The first shows I went to featured Will Ospreay, Gunther and Pac. Seeing new talent and the interesting ways they told stories was refreshing. Witnessing smaller promotions putting on better shows compared to a billion-dollar company creating mediocre content was shocking to me.
Appointing us - the fans - as the authority figure was a great rib by WWE as they continued to sling crap in our faces as 2019 saw The Undertaker battling Goldberg in another Saudi show that resulted embarrassing bout. You can visibly see the disappointed on Taker's face post-match. Kurt Angle would have his retirement match against Baron Corbin. Angle is on my mount Rushmore, so for his career to lead to anti-climax was a disgrace. Seth Rollins was on a babyface run and I was enjoying it, until the infamous Hell in the Cell match with The Fiend. This match should have been a decent bout, but the arena was casted in ugly red light and the finish came in form a DQ. During a live reaction broadcast WWE were putting out at the time, X-Pac said ‘’You may not ask me back for one of these but how do you get DQ’d in a Hell in a fricking Cell match.’’ I often ask myself this. Things would get worse when Kofi Kingston was squashed in seven seconds against Brock Lesner. Kofi’s six-month title reign came to an abrupt and miserable end and so did my love for WWE. At this point I felt cheated and insulted. How can I continue to watch a product that simply didn't care?
Tumblr media
At the tail end of 2019, AEW was launched. The new promotion featured new faces, different styles of wrestling and an opportunity for talent to thrive. I gravitated towards this. I periodically watched WWE clips, but it was clear Vince was out of touch. Talent were also fired during the pandemic. It was as if Vince didn't care anymore. Remembers Erik Rowen’s spider? On top of all this, Vince's scandal was aired across the internet. During this insane time, Vinny had the balls to appear on Smackdown just to wave his ego around.
So, what's changed?
I watched night 1 of WrestleMania and I was impressed. The highlight was Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair. I liked what I saw with the Bloodline storyline. It was great to see Cody Rhodes, and a heel Dominik Mysterio intrigued me. I kept up with things and noticed consistent story telling. With Vince gone, it felt like everything was moving in a cohesive way. Yes, Vince gave us years of entertainment, but he also held on for too long and it was clear it was causing damage.
Tumblr media
I decided to tune back into WWE full time and write about my viewing experience. If you’ve read my past posts, then you know that I still have issues with WWE, but I’ve never seen a promotion do anything perfect. I think WWE do a much better job with their women’s division and keeping storylines simple and clear, but they lack on match quality with many silly finishes. They play things safe, but that's okay. For now I'm enjoying the ride. And that's good enough.

Here’s a fun fact: Becky is the first woman to compete in a cage match on Raw, Smackdown and a PPV (steel cage match vs Alexa on SD and Bayley on Raw and Hell in a Cell vs Sasha)
A LEGEND.
AN ICON.
