Motaz Azaiza saying that he felt guilty about only being a journalist is probably one of the saddest things I've ever seen.
He does so much for the people of Palestine, especially Gaza. He is our window into the horrors happening in gaza. Him and so many other journalists and photographers risk their lives everyday, just so people can know what is going on.
They are surrounded by death and violence and the sadness of a desperate people.
Him saying that he is guilty for only be a journalist is similar to most of us. We sit in out homes, on our phones and laptops, reposting and showing the world what these Palestinian journalists do. I feel guilty that the only thing I can do is type these words and repost on insta, because even with that, there are still people dying. There is still no permanent ceasefire.
But we have to stay strong. It has been working. People have been protesting. They have been calling their legislators, their state representatives. They have been boycotting. All of this is working.
The Palestinian people are relying on us. These journalists create a window into their life and it is our job to expand it. It is out job to shout so loudly, that all the world will see the plight of Palestine.
Keep reposting. Repost all of them. Follow the journalists, tell your friends to follow them. Tell the world about the warriors of Gaza and Palestine. Make their work worth it.

Grounded - Roseverse
Ink is young, troubled, and (most importantly) the "child" of two of the best "parents" ever. Error and Nightmare weren't his true parents, Error being his brother, but they were the ones who raised him. He was always thankful for that, despite all the conflict, there was always something good to take away.
——
Error sat in their living room, watching UnderNovela through a portal. He was starving! Nightmare took way too long to cook. Truly, it's been four minutes since he asked for food but being dramatic was his specialty. He groaned and leaned his head back, listening to the conversation between Asgoro and Sin. That was the only thing he could hear. Strange... It was never quiet, usually there would always be the pitter-patter of small feet running through the house.
Error stood up, confused. He looked around himself, not finding his little brother anywhere. He moved to their rooms and checked each of them, one by one. After the fruitless venture he heads to the kitchen where Nightmare makes supper, grilled cheese.
"Nighty? Have you seen Ink anywhere?" Error asked, slightly worried but also enjoying the relief of the quiet.
Nightmare doesn't spare him a glance, focusing on cooking. "I sent him outside, he tried to touch the stove. He went in the backyard."
"And you wouldn't send me to watch him?" Error's voice rose in volume. "You know he's finicky!" He recounted the many incidents that were because Ink slipped out of their gaze.
"You were watching your show, I didn't want to bother you." Nightmare threw his hands up defensively. A smirk forming on his face. Error lightly punched his shoulder causing it to drop.
He walked away and went to get Ink, opening their sliding door. He called Ink's name and received no response. He started to panic and looked around. Another shout of Ink's name had them falling from the comically large tree in their backyard. Ink lands on their stomach with a thud, they push themself up and smile. Dirt and mud scuffs their face and they try to wipe it with their palms, only smearing it more in the process. Ink stands up and rushes to hug Error. Error tries his best to hug back, Ink's backpack getting in the way of a complete hug.
"Thank the stars you're okay... You're supposed to tell me before you go outside!" Error scolds.
Ink tilted their head in response, confused. "Nightmare sai-"
"Nightmare's irresponsible! You come to me, remember!" Error interrupts rather loudly. Ink shuts their mouth and nods, not wanting to upset Error anymore.
The two head back inside, Ink's head hanging low as they hear Nightmare snickering. After a scowl on Ink's end they take a seat on the couch, Error telling them supper would be finished a few minutes.
"Oh, Error!" Ink stands up, trotting over to Error. Error gives them a suspicious glance as they take their backpack off.
The bag rustles and Error gets even more paranoid. "Ink, what's in your bag?"
They smile, letting a few words fall from their mouth. "It's a friend!" Fear flashes over his face at the response.
They open their bag and a squirrel hops out. In a flurry it runs around the room, climbing and jumping off anything. Error shrieks and attempts to run out the room, only falling after a few steps.
"NIGHTMARE!" Error yells, his voice dipping into a dial-tone as his glitches fizz wildly.
Nightmare rushes into the room as requested and slightly panics at the sight, trying to decipher what the brown flurry was. Before he could the brown flash hopped onto Error, getting another yell before a loud beep echoes through the house signalling that Error crashed.
Ink giggles at the whole ordeal, not understanding the situation. They hide in the hallway, missing all the action. Nightmare opens the door and chases the squirrel around until it scampers out the house. Ink frowns, seeing their friend leave, whining as the door is closed behind it.
Nightmare rushes over to Error, checking on the unconscious glitch. He lays Error on the couch, sighing when he turns to Ink. "You're grounded."
Ink stills and stares at Nightmare before breaking into sobs. He rushes over to the child and comforts them. He reaches his hands out before pausing, getting a curt nod from Ink before hugging them.
"Ink, I'm sorry but you shouldn't have brought a squirrel in the house. You scared Error to death!" Now it was Nightmare's turn to scold Ink. "No more TV or outside time for a week!" His tone and delivery was harsh, causing Ink to shudder.
Ink reluctantly nods and pulls away from the hug. They hang their head low and drag their feet against the floor, heading to their room. Nightmare sighs again as Ink leaves before heading back to Error.
A few minutes pass before Error wakes up and is greeted with a hand on his head, preventing him from sitting up. The two discuss the terms of Ink's grounding before a scent starts to fill the house. The scent if followed by smoke, and then the loud beeping of a smoke alarm.
Nightmare perks up at the noise and dashes back to the kitchen, seeing the burnt grilled cheese sandwiches sitting in the abandoned pan. He turns off the pan and opens a window to air out the house.
Ink runs out of their room, crying while covering where their ears would be. They blabber asking for it to stop. Error responds to their cries and goes over to them, placing a kiss on their head and rubbing their back.
As the house airs out, the siren dies down. Ink's cries slow before coming to a complete stop. Nightmare joins the two and rubs the back of his skull.
"Sorry, buddy. It's over now, it's okay." Error hushes Ink and sits them on the couch. Nightmare heads back to the kitchen, warming up leftovers from last night's dinner.
Ink takes a minute to calm down fully. "error... i'm hungry." They mumble in their small voice. "what are we eating?"
Error looks at them before smirking. "What do you think we did with the squirrel?" Ink's face is filled with fear as they start to wail loudly. Error panics and tries to reassure them. "I'm joking! We didn't eat your friend!" Ink doesn't listen and continues to cry.
Nightmare yells throughout the kitchen. "I let the squirrel outside, it's fine!" Again, ignored by Ink. They sit and cry all evening, missing their friend.
By the time leftovers were heated up, Ink had run out of tears. They shakily ate their food, not trying to imagine their friend on the plate. Error muttered crybaby under his breath, receiving a kick from Nightmare under the table. Error chuckles and stays quiet the rest of supper.

Pray for them
Tumblr media
(by request, my homily from Sunday)
You and I were never meant to do this alone.
That’s what the end of today’s Gospel – the “where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in the midst of them” – is all about.
We are supposed to come together. We are supposed to do this together. That’s how God made us.
The point of us coming together? As Jesus tells us, it’s to pray.
There’s nothing wrong with praying for ourselves. Whether it’s our hopes, our dreams. What we know we need, what we’re afraid of. The things we don’t want to admit, even to ourselves. All of it.
Take it all to God in prayer. But don’t stop there.
You can give someone the support that they need. You can give someone the strength they need. You have the ability to change their life. And it starts when you pray for them.
This is central to our life of faith, that’s why it’s one of the Four Pillars from our Diocesan Synod, and it’s something that you and I are told to do over and over in the Bible.
St. James tells us to “pray for one another,…for the fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.” (James 5:16). Your intentions for this Mass? That’s a great place to start. But this isn’t just a Sunday thing, or even a when-I-go-to-Mass thing. This is an everyday thing.
Take time every day to pray for others.
Look around you, look at the people in your life, and look at the people who cross your path. Your relative who just got the diagnosis? Your friend whose marriage is in trouble? That neighbor who’s struggling? Someone you barely know who’s headed in the wrong direction? Someone you heard about who lost their job?
That’s who God is calling you to pray for. That’s why God sent them your way.
After the Lord’s Prayer, the Our Father, what’s the most powerful prayer in the Gospels?
I’ll give you a hint – we say a version of it at every Mass.
“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”
That’s a paraphrase of the most powerful prayer in the Gospels that’s not said by the Second Person of the Trinity. Here’s St. Matthew’s account:
When he entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” Jesus said to him, “I will come and cure him.” The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed.”
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith.”…And Jesus said to the centurion, “You may go; as you have believed, let it be done for you.” And at that very hour [his] servant was healed. (Matthew 8:5-8,10,13).
This is what St. James is talking about, when he tells us that “the fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.” If you want to see God in action, pray for others.
And this is why St. Paul tells us to, “bear one another’s burdens, for in so doing you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2). Paul knows, from his own experience, that you and I need to be praying for others. Why?
Because Paul spent a big part of his life as a self-righteous accuser, and he understands human nature all too well.
And you’re thinking, “I’m not getting paid to persecute people.” I know. I’ve seen your social media. You and me? We are way too comfortable with doing it for free.
Because if you and I aren’t kneeling in prayer for someone, the odds are we’re standing in judgment over them.
It all goes back to our human nature. If you’re praying for someone…
Let’s be clear, I don’t mean the “thoughts-and-prayers” throw-away line that you hear after a tragedy or a natural disaster.
If you’re praying for someone, if you’re really praying for someone? If you’re lifting them up in prayer whenever they come to mind? If you’re taking their needs before the very throne? If you’re bringing them with you to Mass in your intentions?
That will change how you see them. You will start to see them through God’s eyes. And you cannot see someone through God’s eyes without loving them.
When you do, not only will you start to see God at work in their lives. You’ll see the opportunities that God has given you to help them.
To give them a ride to that doctor’s appointment so they don’t miss it again. To help them figure out a confusing website – so they can apply for that grant or scholarship. To watch their kids so they can go to that job interview.
Or to just listen to them and be with them.
And no matter what you do, let them know that you’re praying for them.
Not because you want them to think you’re wonderful. Not because you want them to thank you. Not because you want anything from them.
But because they need to know that you’re there for them. They need to know that you are on their side.
Because you and I were never meant to do this alone.

WIP INTRO: Black Forrest Cake
I am finally handing over BFC's WIP intro! It has been a long time since I have been able to properly make a post. My laptop died on me, and I just recently got a new one! Whether or not you care, you know now.
disclaimer: this is an original work, and any sort of plagiarism will not be tolerated.
Genre: Adult literary fiction (?)
Synopsis: Front worker Rosemarie and dishwasher Simon find out the owners of Good Intentions aren't all that good.
Setting: someplace in Illinois
Trigger warnings: violence, blood, animal death, cult depictions, death
The vibes: misty mornings, pot-roast, Gilmore Girls, chipped green nail polish, summer into autumn, doc martens, mohair cardigans, bruised knuckles, almond cookies, bitter black coffee, an awkward pairing, kind smiles, sweet tea, autumn leaves, hushed whispers in a closet, bitten lips, soft glances, awkward pining, a cult in the woods, muddy footprints, a butchers knife.
click me for the playlist! and click me for the pinterest board!
Snippet from the first chapter "Maraschino Red" below the cut!
Almonds hide the taste of cyanide; this fact Rosemarie will always remember as she places a cookie on the porcelain plate, a single almond half placed carefully in its center. In front of her stands a mother with her child, bags bruising her under eye, a strange compliment to the blue veins beneath her translucent lids and olivine eyes. She already has a mug of coffee at her table—black, but Rosemarie watched her empty three tan packets of brown sugar into her cup.
let me know if anyone would like to join a tag list! otherwise, it is nice to be back at it!

Incorrect MHA-40 (KaminarixReader)
Y/n: Hey Mina do you know anyone who can teach us how to play the trumpet?
Mina: Why?
Kaminari: We wanna wander around the dorms and annoy Bakugou
Mina: Well technically you don't actually need to know how to play it for that
Y/n and Kaminari: [gasp]
Y/n: Mina you've opened our eyes.
Kaminari: One obnoxiously loud and annoying trumpet solo coming right up!
Mina: What have I done?

This is one of the pro choicers going through my blog right now and leaving comments like this. Of course they have blocked me and I don’t believe for even one second that this is actually happening but it just goes to show what absolutely vile people pro choicers can be.

And they are just trying to understand what's going on
