I had to move my prayer plant on my nightstand because it kept waking me up and freaking me out when it moved. It's now across the room and was rustling loudly this morning for some reason.
Prayer plants are freaky.

Why are prayer plants (Maranta Leuconeura) so fascinating??! All of them are so gorgeous, intriguing and alive! 💚
They love:
-Medium indirect light
-Let the soil dry well between watering sessions
-I also add 1-2 tablespoons of coffee grounds

Hi, I just recently discovered marantaceae are super cool!
Do you by any chance know why some of them so clearly look like they have leaves (pattern) on their leaves?
(my 5 min Google search failed me)
Thanks :)
Hi! :) YES, they are some of the coolest plants there are imo! (if only thrips wouldn't love them so much...)
Sadly, I've not been able to find out the reason for the leaf patterns, either. If anyone knows please let us know!

Plant of the Day
Tuesday 30 January 2024
The foliage of Calathea species (zebra plant, rattlesnake plant, peacock plant, cathedral plant, prayer plan) is sensitive to cold and grows best in a warm, moist atmosphere. Throughout the course of the day, these plants move their leaves around known as nyctinasty.

Our 台灣獨立 sign is up & this room is looking awesome! 💚 My husband moved some things around and clean the desk & shelves a bit. Love how it looks!
I still haven't ID the hanging plant on left side. Some people have said it is a Hoya, but in real life it definitely doesn't feel like a Hoya.
What's your favorite thing of this picture?
