but back in july my upstairs neighbor's mom caught herself on fire and was evicted from her nursing home after attempting to light a bong while wearing an oxygen mask and i guess based on a small sample size and what i am hearing from above while i am sitting here on my deck that two months is about how long it takes before you can laugh about something like that
@willpowers submitted: Hello it is I again! Luigi (my beetle) is a bit bigger now and I got a pose of him stretching upwards! I also got an african boxer mantis because they are adorable! Wanted to share the cuties! The mantis is named Juliet by the way! (Neither are sexed atm but I’m just going by their vibes)
Luigi is literally the most incredible man I've ever seen in my life. Love him. And also Juliet. I agree their vibes fit their names regardless of sex!
About a month ago, I had a big praying mantis hyperfixation (and still kinda do, to be honest). I wanted to make some mantis content, but I didn’t feel like drawing one, and it would take to long to 3D model a realistic one. So I thought, “Screw it, praying Minetis.” I figured trying to model something original in Minecraft style as authentically as possible could be fun, and it was! :D
I love mantises and their funny little intimidation dances <3
Total work time was 16 hours and 46 minutes. Modeled, rigged, animated, and rendered in Blender, textured in Clip Studio Paint. Grass block texture created by Mojang.
A big beautiful baby to admire! (co staring my cat) Found them while I was walking my dog late at night and briefly brought them inside to get a better picture.
Not an expert on mantis classification but it's most likely a California Mantis (Stagmomantis California).
Fun fact about the red eyes! A number of mantis species have light colored eyes during the day and then pigment gathers in the eyes during the night to help them see in the dark. (Orchid Mantises' eyes turn deep purple and the eyes of the Dead Leaf mantis will turn nearly completely black!)
