•Powwow of the Nonhuman, a Great Celebration of Indigenous Otherkind!•

•Many greetings to those who have laid their eyes upon these writings! I am very, very happy to announce a new community project I have been working on for the past month. Powwow of the Nonhuman is a digital celebration of indigenous peoples who identify as animals or non-human species! Those of us who are therians and otherkind who are indigenous have sadly been fragmented and unrepresnted in our respective communities. This event seeks to change that! We wish to celebrate the indigenous cultures, traditions, and ceremonies that some therians and otherkind are a part of!

•In my viewpoint, therians and otherkind who are both nonhuman identifying and indigenous have a special connection to the nature, medicine, and energy of our Mother Earth, Father Sky, and Great Creator. We have a connection to both the world of humanity and the world of the animal people and the plant people. We are essntially the animal and plant people living the human experience. We should embrace and love both our nonhuman experiences and our human culture.

•The powwow will be hosted digitally on the event's official website via the integrated video system. The powwow will consist of a pre-scheduled, refined and edited motion picture featuring individual and unique presentations of indigenous culture and otherkind experiences by our event presenters. There will be intermittent periods during panels and presentations where indigenous vendors can present their wares during the powwow. We are working on implementing a chat system on site so individuals who attend the powwow premier can interact and talk during the course of the event.

•Powwows are not only for indigenous peoples who originate from the continental Americas, we welcome all indigenous peoples from all areas of the world. This includes indigenous peoples with roots originating in Australia, Africa, Asia, The Middle East, and all island nations. All people of color are welcome to present at the powwow, whether they know where exactly their indigenous roots stem from or not.

•We need a few things to make this event happen. We need individuals who are capable of editing videos and audio since the powwow itself will be hosted on video and prescheduled. Editing a motion picture of this size will take a lot of effort, so we will need individuals who are committed to working on a project such as this. We need staff members to help with event organizing and planning. I will be doing much of the work, though I will not be able to run an event like this alone, I need some support from the indigenous community. Additionally, we need at least eight presenters for the event, not including staff members. Please help us to reach this minimum goal by boosting this post and spreading the word about the powwow!

one of my favorite things is the live chat replay for the ultrakill act II full ost premiere.

things get interest around when The Abyss and The Serpent plays, the track for when you're fighting the leviathan:

at around 37:26, a user types ⚠ LEVIATHAN ACTIVITY ⚠ twice in quick succession. an innocuous enough message.

someone decides to copy-paste it a few seconds later.

hakita, lead dev and composer, posts a comment regarding that track, as he had been doing for every track thus far.

meanwhile the first signs of infection are present.

⚠ GOOBER ⚠ is a reference to a gif, which ⚠ LEVIATHAN ACTIVITY ⚠ presumably was inspired by.

the levels of ⚠ LEVIATHAN ACTIVITY ⚠ continued to increase.

believe it or not, it had yet to reach full strength. hakita continues to commentate but finds his insight into the production of the music juxtaposed against the spam:

at some select moments, you could find the entire chat window to be nothing but warnings of ⚠ leviathan activity ⚠.

hakita, as much as he is a queer shitposter with his finger on the pulse of the retro FPS community, has yet to acknowledge the ⚠ activity of the leviathan ⚠, instead ignoring it and providing more commentary. on the bright side, this meant the message wasn't being forbidden, although it would be excessive to employ such moderation measures against a pre-recorded premiere stream anyway. hakita is not anti-fun; if the ⚠ leviathan was active ⚠ and you wanted to post about it, you were allowed to.

the song ends. the leviathan is no longer active. the spam seems to die down as Chord of the Crooked Saints begins to play.

it seems to be dead. not only is the leviathan no longer active, the entire tone of the ost has shifted. The Abyss and The Serpent was the last track of the wrath layer, a water-themed layer nearly the polar opposite of the next layer, the heresy layer.

and yet from the ashes, a new type of ⚠ activity ⚠ rises. you see, Chord of the Crooked Saints is a drone. it has no melody or percussion, it is simply a continuous sound which is played as soon as you enter heresy, which has quite possibly the most metal and badass introduction to any layer. Chord of the Crooked Saints is infamous because it is part of what made the introduction to heresy so jarring and memorable.

of course, the law of the internet states that the better something is and the harder it goes, the more likely people are to be silly about it.

going forward, this would be the entire stream, for what little music there was left in the OST:

hakita could no longer withstand the levels of ⚠ activity ⚠.

a reference to a weird fucking creature thing named "armboy" that hakita hid as an easter egg out of bounds in heresy.

and this is how the stream would continue. various new types of ⚠ activity ⚠ would be detected and posted about en masse, ad nauseum. it was glorious.

Bodysnatchers

It was that time of the year again. For Jimmy, this was the month he looked forward to most because it was time for an annual convention for one of his most favourite video games. The event had been going on for a few years now and he hadn't missed a single one. The community built by the event-goers was unmatched in his eyes, everyone was so kind, caring and unbelievably hot. Yes, a large percentage of the community was made up of gay men, and though he wasn't there to get his ass fucked, he enjoyed talking everything about the game franchise from it's beginnings to the spin-off movies, it's comics and speculating about what direction the game's developers will take in the upcoming releases.

Jimmy himself was a peculiar case. On the outside he looked like a blonde twink that hit the weights a fair bit, the muscle was due to his job which required a fair bit of lifting, and so had built him up a bit in the past year. When not working, he played games, watched movies, life was actually pretty chill for him. He'd booked a few days off work for the event and had spent the previous night packing his suitcase ready for the weekend. He caught his train on time and arrived in the city where it was all going to take place. He arrived around midday and made his way to the Premier Inn, checked in, passing a few familiar faces on the way to his room and kicked off his shoes and coat, taking a moment to relax on the double bed in his hotel room. He opened Twitter on his phone and put out a Tweet saying he'd arrived and was excited to meet everyone at the pre-event that night. It was a new thing the event organisers had thought up, a chance for everyone to mingle and catch up before the main event the next day.

Jimmy changed out of his casual shorts and t-shirt he'd arrived in and pulled out his evening wear, a short-sleeved shirt and chinos. He wanted to look his best, back home he didn't put much effort into what he wore, but here was a whole different case. He slicked his hair back, put on a silver chain necklace and sprayed his rarely used Playboy cologne. Maybe it was a bit over the top for casual socialising and game chatting, but he always went all-out for these events.

He checked Twitter again, there were some likes from the event-goers he knew and some he didn't recognise. He expected he'd be getting to know the newcomers soon enough and that was fine. He was used to showing the people that didn't know where particular landmarks were the locations of, and people knew him to be a decent enough guy, though he had in the past had to turn down invitations by some people for 'cuddles'. He saw one friend saying a lot of the folks would be down at the Premier Inn bar for drinks and socialising before the pre-event, so Jimmy put on a name tag he'd kept from the previous year which had his Twitter name on it; ResidentJimmy, and headed downstairs to the bar.

He saw a few people he'd been talking to the week before and was welcomed with hugs. Jimmy went to the bar to get a drink, Disaronno and Cola, and sat down with them. They spent a while catching up on life, laughing about the games they'd been playing, they were joined by a few others and eventually Jimmy moved on to say hi to some of the other event goers. An hour or two into the socialising and several drinks in, Jimmy was beginning to get a little tipsy. A person he was talking to had just headed off to see a friend of theirs that had just arrived when he was approached by a couple of younger men.

'Hi, sorry to bother you, but it's ResidentJimmy, isn't it?' asked one of them nervously. Jimmy turned to look at them. The one that asked the question was a bit squat, bespeckled with brown hair and the other was thin with black greasy-looking hair. Judging by the one with glasses' accent, they were Irish. 'Yeah that's me, nice to meet you both!' smiled Jimmy, beckoning to two seats next to him, which they eagerly filled. 'I thought it was you, I do love your streams over on Twitch' said the one with glasses, the one with black hair smiled and nodded nervously. 'Thanks, so who are you two then?' asked Jimmy, taking a sip of his drink and looking between both of them. 'Oh, I'm Gavin, I was here last year but didn't get a chance to say hi before, and this is Tiernan, my boyfriend. It's his first time here' said Gavin, smiling. Tiernan nodded and smiled too. Jimmy smiled and raised his glass and the three clinked their glasses as a toast to their newfound friendship.

'So I'm guessing you two are from Ireland, right?' asked Jimmy. Tiernan nodded. 'Yeah, Belfast, have you ever been?' asked Gavin. Jimmy nodded. 'Oh I love Belfast, haven't been there in a few years though, you guys have mountains! Where I'm from we've got a lake and that's about it!' shrugged Jimmy. Gavin laughed and looked to Tiernan, who was nodding his head and smiling, unable to look away from Jimmy. 'Gosh your man's a bit quiet Gavin, you ok there bud?' asked Jimmy. 'Oh he's just shy, you know how it is when you meet someone famous' said Gavin. 'Oh please, I'm not famous' laughed Jimmy. Shaking his head. 'Well we do love the videos you make, we tune in every week!' said Gavin. Jimmy smiled. 'Thanks guys, I really appreciate it' said Jimmy, looking to them both. 'Hey, have you ever been to Dublin?' asked Tiernan. Jimmy turned his attention to Tiernan. 'No I haven't, I'd love to some day though' said Jimmy thoughtfully. 'Ah, it's a pretty big place, do you know why?' asked Tiernan. 'Because Andrew Scott's from there?' asked Jimmy. Tiernan shook his head. 'Nah, it's because it keeps doubling!' said Tiernan. Jimmy worked out the pun and started laughing. Gavin and Tiernan joined in the laughter too. 'Oh that's good, Dublin, doubling. That's actually hilarious mate!' laughed Jimmy, Tiernan nodded his head. 'Thanks Sir!' he said. Gavin looked between them smiling. 'Well you must've left a good impression on him Jim, this is the first he's spoken all day' said Gavin. 'Ah you'll be alright Tiernan, everyone's friendly here, keep on cracking jokes and everyone's gonna love you' said Jimmy. Jimmy settled his glass down. He sat back in his chair, looking around at the other event goers. 'Well fellas, I need to go for a piss real quick, I'll be right back' said Jimmy, getting out of his chair. 'Alright, see you real soon Jim' said Gavin, giving him a thumbs up. Jimmy made his way to the toilets and over to the furthest urinal from the door. He exhaled as he pissed and looked to the ceiling, thinking of who to check up on next. He'd heard some guys had come in from France for the event and might need welcoming.

He finished his business and zipped up his chinos, turning to the left he saw Gavin and Tiernan standing there, Jimmy practically jumped out of his skin. 'Oh shit!' he yelled. Gavin smirked. 'Oh sorry if we startled you Jim' said Gavin gently. 'I'll say! I didn't hear you two come in!' laughed Jimmy nervously. The two didn't smile. Jimmy looked at both of them. 'So what, do you two piss together too or something?' asked Jimmy. Gavin shook his head. 'We just had to be sure' said Gavin, looking Jimmy up and down. 'Sure of what exactly?' asked Jimmy, feeling uncomfortable. 'You're a cute guy with big feet, we reckoned you had a huge cock, but it looks like you're packing on both sides' said Gavin, looking Jimmy dead in the eyes. 'What the fuck?!' asked Jimmy in disgust, looking to Tiernan, who he now noticed had been staring intently at Jimmy the whole time, looking more clammy and sweatier than he did back at the bar. 'Look guys, I'm really not looking for a threesome if that's what you're after' said Jimmy, wondering if he should yell for help. Tiernan began to fidget a bit. 'A threesome? 🀄️reflecting on richonne

One thing about Rick and Michonne - they did not split up if they didn’t have to. I love noticing how often they paired up and stuck together, especially pre-canon. And I also found it interesting the averse reaction they had whenever they did have to part. This “Richonne = magnets” stuff is just scientific fact. 😋

(Side Note: before I even get into this post, I had to first quickly lose my mind over the latest glimpse into the spinoff. No spoilers for those avoiding any set pics…all I’ll say is ahhhhhh my heart is full and bursting at the same dang time and if you could have seen the scream I scrumpt when pics popped up on my tl last night. If just photos nearly knocked me out then I truly will be a mess in the best way when the show airs. We’re about to eat and I absolutely cannot wait 🤩🙌🏽

Now back to the regularly scheduled program, which is actually quite fitting since it’s all about how the king and queen are always together. Thanks in advance for reading, y’all 💛)

Once R&M decided they were done having any opposition after s3, they so clearly couldn’t hide how much they genuinely liked each other and enjoyed being around each other. And in the s4 premiere, Rick also could not hide that he was feeling a type of way when she kept going out to look for the Governor. An early indicator that Richonne ain’t meant to be split up.

Then when everyone in the prison is scattered after Too Far Gone, of course Michonne is the one to reunite with her Grimes boys because even the universe knows they aren’t meant to be split up.

In Season 5, Rick and Michonne are so often together. Like during the church dinner, the run with fellow couple Bob and Sasha, and when visiting Noah’s neighborhood. And they have to have a whole chat on who stays with the kids and who goes when Carol and Beth need rescuing from that hospital. Why? Cuz naturally they wouldn’t split up.

And especially in The Distance we see how true that is. Rick is on full edge while Michonne is away looking for those cars. Then, after he’s willing to let her take the lead and make a huge decision for the group to go to ASZ, Rick of course wants Michonne to be the one that rides with him, Glenn, and Aaron. When their ride with Aaron goes awry and Michonne wants to go into the woods, Rick is against it…but then what’s the next scene? The two of them going into the woods. And later in the ep it’s just Rick and Michonne in that car with their kids while everyone else is in the RV. Why? Richonne doesn’t split up.

In the s6 premiere, everybody is in different groups to take on the walker horde and whose paired together with Morgan? Of course Rick and Michonne are teaming up. They don’t split up.

Michonne exhibits a rare moment of pure panic when Rick walks out of the infirmary to take on all those walkers in No Way Out. She’s so torn with an injured Carl inside and dazed Rick outside. She knows Rick needs her help. And deep down she knows if they’re going to take on anything it should be together.

When they go kill those Saviors in their sleep in 6x12, everybody pairs up and, despite being two people who could totally lead their own group, Rick and Michonne are paired up together with Daryl. (In my mind, I’ve always chalked that up to the fact that if they’re going to do something that dangerous R&M are going to need to visibly know each other are okay at all times lol. And magnets don’t split up.)

It’s Rick’s turn to exhibit panic later in Season 6 when Michonne isn’t back yet after going out to find Daryl. In the scene where Abe offers him some comfort and later when he finds her locs on a walker, Rick seems so genuinely shaken. And a big reason why is cuz Richonne isn’t meant to be split up.

In Season 7 they become even more consciously aware that Richonne is not meant to be split up when Michonne basically says as much in the 7x08 cell scene.

After both feeling off due to their distance in 7A, in the msf Michonne beautifully expresses how she doesn’t want it to be her way but “ours” and that the two of them can only win if they’re in it together. And then it’s the “me and you” way for them from there on out. When they go to Hilltop, The Kingdom, mow down walkers in cars (of which Rick says a passionate no when Michonne mentions splitting up lol), and meeting the Garbage group (where the arm grab that altered my brain chemistry just further illustrates they don’t like to be split up). They are side by side through it all. You already know why.

Then, in one of TWD’s most gloriously blissful eps I got to thinking…how’d it work that only R&M went on that run for guns in 7x12? Like they needed a lot of guns and the streets were dangerous. They could’ve brought along a few more people, and yet Rick and Michonne told TF, “all y’all can stay home for this one, cuz we’re not trying to just look for guns while we’re out here.” #DirectQuote. Like I know they wanted this to be a two-person only run. Not just cuz they could handle it but cuz they wanted this honeymoon alone time together too. Here for it to infinity and beyond. And just further proof they don’t split up.

Later when TF prepares to approach Oceanside, the gang is again all in groups and have these big tasks to set up and our lovely leader Rick said my main task is making sure my wife gets up that tree safe. Period. They don’t split up.

Michonne has straight up sirens going off in her head while Rick is off at war in Season 8. Cuz they know they aren’t meant to be apart, especially when fighting the fight.

In Season 9 (one of their most joyous eras cuz they’re finally able to be more settled and together🤗) they want as much time as they can get with each other. Even when work has Rick leading at the bridge and Michonne leading at ASZ, Rick is eager for them both to take a day off and have a family fun day cuz nothing is more important. And cuz they don’t like to be split up for long.

These aren’t even all the moments I could pinpoint lol. But I think the case is proven.

So of course these two are going to find each other even after all this time. We’re getting a whole reunion spinoff because Rick and Michonne’s connection is in every way magnetic.

Years, distance, walkers, wars - ultimately nothing stands in the way of Richonne being together. Why? My babies don’t split up.🧲😌

The week before valentine's day you and Sebastian were heading to London for press and the premier of his new movie Sharper for Apple+. You had never been to London and this was going to be amazing because you were going with your very sexy fiancé Sebastian. The flight was going to be super long so you left New York around 11:30 pm for you to arrive a little after 9am London time. You and Sebastian both wore comfortable sweatpants and hoodies for the flight since you were hoping to get a few hours of sleep on the flight. “Seb do we have to go through the regular TSA or do we have to pre-check?” “I made sure we got pre-check. So just in case there would be too many people at the airport we could just go right through and you wouldn't have to feel uncomfortable being searched.” “Thank you so much baby, I love you.” “I love you too draga”

You were both able to get 4 hours of sleep on the flight and so you didn't feel too tired when you got to Heathrow Airport. You each had a carryon and 1 large piece of luggage for your stay in england. Stepping out of the VIP area of the airport you were greeted by a man in a black suit and a sign saying ‘Mr Stan & Fiance’ “Well I guess this is for us huh honey?” “I guess so, very cool.” “Hello, I’m Mr Stan and this is my fiance Miss Y/L/N.” “It's good to meet you sir, if you will follow me, we will get your luggage into the car and head to your hotel.” You followed the driver to the curbside pickup and handed him your things. You got into the backseat waiting for Sebastian to finish speaking to the driver while helping him. That man will try his best to stay humble in any aspect, that's one of the reasons you love him so much. While you sat there you thought of the sexy lingerie you packed especially for the premier he is going to flip.

You were brought out of your dirty thoughts when Sebastain opened the door to get in the back with you. He slid over so he could be closer to you and wrap his arm around you. “I cant believe I’m in london with the love of my life and celebrate his newest movie.” you look up at him as you say the last part. “I’m glad you were able to come with me draga. Premiers make me more nervous than awards shows, I’m glad to have you by my side.” Sebastian gives you a kiss on the forehead and you snuggle closer to him as you drive through the streets of London. You settle into the hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing on the couch in your room while Sebastain makes a few phone calls letting him know where his press interviews will be and with whom.

That evening you have room service brought to your room and have a nice romantic dinner. The next 2 days are spent following Sebastian to his interviews and in between interviews you chat with a few of his co-stars. In a flash Wednesday comes and it's the day of the premier. (eg: never let me go, only friends, dangerous romance, last twilight...)

I don't think I have a preference. I took this question back to my amazing BL elders circle, and we chatted about various states of provenance for canon material. What's particularly fascinating by way of trends now in Thailand is when a screenplay gets written first, and the Y novel gets written after, which I think has happened only extremely rarely in Japan and Korea. What's interesting about this phenomenon to me is the cultural "need" for a novel component to be associated with a show, as original Y novels were so very integral to the birth of the BL/Series Y genre in Thailand with the premiere and adaptation of Love Sick from an original novel. I happen to like the component that fans of a drama need a full-circle experience with a novel to accompany the process of being a fan of a drama series.

But all that being said, there are times when it's clear that a screenplay is based off a novel, times when it's clear that a script is original, and times when none of this is clear. When a drama is good, it's usually when the right balance of script, editing, and acting excellence has been hit, and I don't think that's necessarily always dependent on there needing to be a prior source material element. It should hopefully be as simple as that. I had my first full-circle experience with a drama and a novel when I watched, then read the source material for, I Feel You Linger In The Air, and the novel did indeed change how I felt about the drama (I want more sassy Jom, damn it!). But that process was a LOT of fun to go through, particularly because the novel's plot happened to be quite solid, and the show's director, Tee Bundit, futzed around with the plot in ways that indeed suited his vision for sad boyz, but also added drama and unexpected spotlights on other equity issues that I think made the drama a lovely piece of art on its own.

The Elders DID remind me that the second season of Minato's Laundromat was original, not based in manga canon, and that may have sunk the show -- without the direction of the manga, the screenwriters may not have known how to tie plot knots as well on their own. In the end, if a novel, a manga, a manhwa, or a drama series is great, I'm happy to celebrate that piece of art without putting pressure on it to influence other pieces of art. I just hope the time I spend watching dramas ends up being worth the payoff!

Silent Hill : Ascension

Well, the Premiere was last night (Halloween, 9PMET/6PM)...

It was definitely rough, which was extremely disappointing, but almost to be expected of a historic event like this. The skeletal structure of this horror ID (Interactive Drama) is strong, but all the guts and even the skin of it are weak.

1.) Please don't spend any money on this "game", it is so obviously a cash-grab. Purchasing cosmetics for your avatar, and then spending even more money for the chance of your avatar appearing in a future installment of the series. Plus, the pay-to-win model of having to spend cash for influence points so you can control the course of events.

2.) The stream itself wasn't the greatest quality, I guess there was a QTE (quick-time event) towards the end of the premiere in which one of the main characters was fleeing a monster, but I didn't even see it, too much stuttering and poor latency. None of the community understood how to perform the actions either which led to the failure of the QTE which is supposed to make it harder for the character to survive.

3.) Ugly game graphics for what is slated as a "show" from a streaming service. People waited 10 years, and it broke pre-registration records, just to be unable to study the monsters or imagery? I think not.

4.) The pacing is way too fast for the story to develop any of the atmospheric suspense or tension from the game series. Bounces between two character plots with no warning, and every minute or so. We have also been given no time to care about any of the characters, we're just thrown into a woman dying and a man's dying wife treating him like shit and supposed to decide these people's fates.

5.) Unmoderated live group chat for a semi-popular piece of pop-culture...nuff said.

Idk, I genuinely want to appreciate and enjoy this very cool contemporary idea. But, if the premiere is any indicator of how the remainder of this is going to go, it's gonna suck and it's gonna defile the legacy of Silent Hill forever. It's supposed to dictate canon, and it could just go so horribly off the rails. I don't think it was what anybody expected. I wanted to play a game with an entire community or fanbase of one of my favorite horror franchises. The only puzzle solving you can do is essentially pixel chasing for more influence points.

Anybody else watch this and have a similar negative experience, and a bad taste in their mouth afterwards?

Summary: London current days. You finally decide to start a basic acting class as hobby, you would never believe where this experience will lead you and especially the luck will bring you in the near future. Both in your career and love. But life isn’t all puppy dogs and rainbows…

~ Chapter one ~

You couldn’t believe this was happening. “Just luck” you thought staring blankly to nothing.

Last year you forced yourself to do something for you, something to enjoy and entertain yourself: signing up to acting classes. You always loved cinema, the core of it, how movies were made, scripts, pre and postproduction and you always had an interest in acting but you never believed you could be any good. This time, something changed: “It will be just as a hobby. I’ll meet new people, hopefully make some good friends and sharing the same interests!”. So you did. The course went by quickly, you moved from basic to intermediate, from character building to stage techniques.

You were loving it!

At the end of the year, your teacher organised and prepared all the students to stage a play:

“Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespear.”

You were Beatrice who falls in love with Benedict.

On the same day of the premiere, Marcus, your teacher spoke to all of you with good news:

“I took a step forward and I have invited few friends from the industry to come and see the play.

I know you were expecting something more intimate and low key, but one of them is a talent scout and one... a Hollywood actor.”

The tension in the room spiked up and you all started chatting and trembling with anxiety.

The play was a success and all of you seemed to have forgotten what Marcus said at the beginning.

The theatre was small and there were probably around 100 people among friends and family.

You were all happy and satisfied with how it went, especially Marcus.

All of you rushed to the backstage hugging, laughing, screaming, releasing all the tension tat was built up for months! Marcus entered the room and behind him two people following him. He joined the hug and congratulated each of you.

“I can’t express enough how happy I am with how this evening went! Everything was perfect: except for you David farting on stage during the scene!” everyone laughed. “Hey! That was intentional! It was to break the silence and save the moment!” David said ironically.

But it was true, you were not that happy because the silence during the scene was caused by you forgetting the line. You panicked, but David “gas release” gave you the time to look at Marcus to give you the line while the audience was laughing.

“Yeah… sorry guys!” you said crossing your arms and looking at your feet.

“Don’t be silly Y/N! It could have happened to anyone; the most important thing is that we found a way to improvise and save the moment as a team… even though it was David’s fart!” Martha said squeezing your shoulders. You laughed but It didn’t make you feel better though.

“It’s not like you fell, broke a rib and had to continue acting like nothing happened while in total and visible pain! Believe me, that is the worse, talking from experience.” It was the voice of one of the two people behind Marcus. None of you really paid attention when they entered the room behind him, you were all too excited, but in that exact moment you all looked at where the voice was coming from and there he was: Pedro Pascal.

Jaw dropped and eyes out of the orbit. You all knew him of course, but none of you could believe he was there, I mean, a shitty play from a minor theatre company. Marcus must have had very good friends in the past.

Pedro winked and smiled at you to make you feel better. You were out of words. “So don’t think about it, no one noticed it, you were great!” he added, and you blushed. “You were all great guys! Qudos to all of you!” he said looking at everyone to break your clear embarrassment to the compliment.

“Guys, this is Lynda Erkiletian, she is a talent scout looking for new faces for an upcoming project. And of course… I guess he doesn’t need an introduction: Mr Pedro Pascal, my dear friend from NYU.”

Everyone thanked and approached Lynda and Pedro sharing compliments and questions. The night ended going out to a pub till. You were all impressed by how Lynda and Pedro were so easy going and approachable. You went back home drunk, lying on your bed with a big smile and thinking what an incredible experience you just had.

The next morning you woke up in complete hangover and with a mix feeling of happiness and sadness for realising that the course ended, and that the experience was already just a memory. Back to reality, it was Sunday and from tomorrow you were starting over your boring office job.

You filled your mug with some hot strong coffee and you sat on the kitchen chair contemplating the absolute nothing. Zooming out, you were remembering every bit of last night with a smile and absent eyes.

The moment was interrupted by your phone buzzing. You look at the screen: It was Marcus.

You answered with a cracked voice: “Hello teacher!” “Hello my dear, how’s this morning going? From how much you drank last night and your voice I bet you are in pain!” laughing.

“Jesus Christ Marcus, keep it down, my head is exploding!” you said placing your hand on your forehead.

“Well… I guess that’s what they were looking for and they liked you for who you truly were last night!” he said, and you couldn’t think of anything to say, your mind was already spinning and your heart racing.

“Anyway, before you start throwing up, they want to meet you for dinner tonight and Lydia wants to talk about a small part in a movie with Pedro, if you are interested. I’ll be there with you, don’t worry. I’ll give you the lines if you freeze again!” he laughed.

You couldn’t believe that was happening. How could it be? You?! You never took this course seriously; it was just a hobby. Yes you liked it very much but you never thought it could become anything else than just a nice experience.

introducing my psycho-pass oc! brought to life by @catyypss 💜 i haven't fully fleshed out the details, but here's what we (i) know about her so far!

⤷ kogami's twin sister ⤷ honestly, i haven't given her a name yet. 😂 ⤷ originally an actress/singer (i actually wanted to explore what celebrities were like in a sybil world, but then season 3 came out and we did get to see that! how cool!) ⤷ BUT she became an inspector once her brother was demoted ⤷ (she really wanted to protect her brother! 😭 and she thought this was the best way to help him since he wouldn't have access to everything anymore.) ⤷ respects her brother a lot and looks up to him (they have a good relationship!) ⤷ also went to high school with kogami & ginoza ⤷ as kids, kogami tried to make her a bookworm but homegirl just... would not. (definitely teased her about it.) ⤷ people assume she's not that booksmart but she ranked above average at school & she has a sharp memory (it helped her a lot as a performer, but if she showed off a little while investigating -- can't blame a girl) ⤷ kogami & ginoza were both concerned when she said she'd become an inspector. kogami was much more quick to accept it (he trusts his sister a lot), whereas ginoza was much more upset ⤷ relatively good at maintaining her hue (learned a lot of stress management as a celebrity) ⤷ among the enforcers, she and yayoi chat a lot about music (though their tastes are very different), and maybe she and masaoka came up with ideas to tease gino ⤷ she's honestly not sure what to make of the sybil system, especially post-season 1; it's a system that judged both her brother and her friend (ginoza) so harshly. she knows they're both good people, so how fair can it all be? ⤷ personality-wise, i think she's level-headed and headstrong (would also be the type to stop bullying, with her words not her fists), she's charming and knows it, and growing up around kogami's teasing, she also loves to have fun and use her wit in her own way ⤷ post season 1 idea? she becomes a reporter or journalist (i just love the yayoi & oc team agenda!) to focus on elevating unheard voices, particularly of people sybil would try to otherwise ignore or disapprove of (very big immigrants rights activist in dejima once japan opened borders) i also think she would be so cool as a spy...

oc and ginoza ⤷ ginoza was interested in her when they were in school (come on, she's super pretty!), but i hc that he didn't feel confident asking her out (and has likely super tsundere about his feelings this whole time) ⤷ he DID support her during school plays/shows ⤷ i think oc was also intrigued by this serious guy from the get-go and soon developed her own crush, but because of her career, maybe she didn't have time for romance either ⤷ they were still good friends all throughout school and into adulthood (ginoza would attend oc's shows/premieres and bring flowers!) ⤷ UNTIL kogami's demotion ⤷ as much as he respects his best friend and as much as he cares about oc, he just doesn't think it's a good idea for her to enter the mwpsb for a reason like this (she doesn't realize what she's getting herself into) ⤷ let's say they're just disgruntled partners for a while (but gino's a softie; he's not going to stay mad forever!) ⤷ BECAUSE I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP!!1!!! ⤷ given ginoza's personality pre/during s1, i think she would have to be the one to pursue him a little ⤷ but once he's demoted, nothing else matters, the floodgates open, and he tells her his feelings ⤷ i think because the two of them already cared a lot about each other before the timing was right, it would be emotional when they first get together (oc wants ginoza to be happy and want more for himself, ginoza wants to cherish and be good to the person he's held at arms length for so long) -- not sure if they tried dating before and it failed, and then tried again after ginoza becomes an enforcer, or if they try for the first time only after he's an enforcer. either way, the road is very long and filled with pining.

i know i've typed a lot, but i feel like i've left a lot of holes in her story. i mean, she doesn't even have a name yet... how can i name her ship?!?!?

i really want to develop her former life as an actress/idol more! (particularly, a darker story, like a crime happening at her agency or something?) give her some work-related trauma.

i also want to explore her naïveté, with how she decided to become an inspector. obviously, she passed the requirements, but does she have the heart? can she pull the trigger? what's gonna be her "oh shit" moment? (she needs PLENTY!!)

other minor things: ⤷ it was meeting akane that made her realize the way she supported her brother wasn't what was healthiest for him and his mind. she respects her a lot! ⤷ she really loves cute people! so she really wants to be a big sis to characters like mika, kei, arata, etc. (naturally, she thought baby gino was ADORABLE)

some future ideas i want to focus on: ⤷ how does she separate herself from her brother? ⤷ would she and gino even work as a couple? (too late, they gotta since i already commissioned art of them. LOL)

Smith was working at the game for Sky Sports and before taking any questions, Emery looked him in the eye and said, “Thank you for everything” as the pair shook hands.

It was a moment that resonated with Villa supporters, who will see the top-four credentials of Emery’s team – built on the foundations laid by Smith – tested by Manchester City and Arsenal this week.

Eight players who were signed and nurtured by Villa under Smith – Emiliano Martínez, Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Douglas Luiz, Emi Buendia, Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey – have been crucial to Emery since he took over in October last year. Smith was also responsible for giving academy graduate Jacob Ramsey his first-team debut.

“It was a really nice touch from Unai and completely unexpected,” says Smith. “I’d come across him before, as I did my study visit for my Pro Licence at Valencia and we played Arsenal a couple of times, in pre-season and in the League Cup, when I was at Brentford.

“We had a good chat after the League Cup game and I actually asked if I could go and see what he was doing at Arsenal. He joked, ‘The way your team is playing, I think I should come in and see you’, so there has always been that mutual respect. I didn’t get the chance to go and see him again at Arsenal because not long after I got the Villa job.

Dean Smith interview: ‘I’m proud the spine of my team is firing Unai Emery’s Aston Villa’

It was ahead of Aston Villa’s 11th consecutive home victory in the Premier League, against West Ham United, that head coach Unai Emery echoed the thoughts of the majority of the club’s fans when he encountered former manager Dean Smith.

Smith was working at the game for Sky Sports and before taking any questions, Emery looked him in the eye and said, “Thank you for everything” as the pair shook hands.

“I look at the spine Unai usually goes for and I’m quite proud of the fact it’s Emi Martínez, Ezri Konsa, John McGinn, who Steve Bruce signed but played really well for me, Douglas Luiz and Ollie Watkins.”

Martínez, Cash, Mings, Douglas Luiz and Watkins made their senior debuts for their national teams after being signed by Smith, with Konsa winning his first England call-up last month. No wonder most of them, including Jack Grealish who is now at City but is suspended for Wednesday night’s game at Villa Park, still call Smith ‘Gaffer’.

“I keep in touch with a lot of them. Ezri, Jack, Dibu [Martínez] and it’s always pleasing to see them get in the national team squads,” says Smith. “I was really pleased to see Ezri get in the last England squad. I’ve been banging his drum for a long time, I think he’s a Rolls Royce of a player.

“A bit like Ollie, who I took from Exeter for £1.3 million, I signed Ezri for Brentford, from Charlton, and then for Villa. He made a big mistake against Newcastle in the first game of the season and I texted him after saying: ‘It’s always what you do next.. You don’t see too many mistakes from him, he just keeps improving.”

Smith admits that he cannot take all the credit for Douglas Luiz, who Villa signed for £15 million from City and is now valued closer to £100 million amid links to his former club and Arsenal, who failed with a bid for him last year. Douglas Luiz took time to settle and Smith believes the fact the Brazilian greeted him in English at that West Ham game in October demonstrates why he is now flourishing.

“With Dougie, I didn’t know an awful lot about him, but Suso [former Villa sporting director Jesus García Pitarch] sold him to me,” says Smith. “He was the best player in training all the time, but when he first came to Villa, the language was a barrier. He’s from a favela in Brazil, so his education was maybe a bit different from some of the lads.

“Once he started to integrate more and build relationships, then you could see the improvement. He surprised me at the West Ham game when he saw me and he spoke English to me because it would be very rare he would do that when I was in charge.

“Pep [Guardiola] really liked him, but I think City had a big problem because he wouldn’t play enough to get his work permit. I think City moved beyond him in that first season in the Premier League. They had a buy-back clause and it was good for Villa that they didn’t take it up, but you could see him going and playing there now.”

Emery is not just benefiting from Smith’s influence on the pitch but also off it after the 52-year-old transformed the culture and atmosphere inside Villa Park, which has recovered from a brief period of dissatisfaction under Steven Gerrard.

Villa were 15th in the Championship table when Smith was appointed just over five years ago and such was the disconnect between former managers, the team and the fans that a section of the club’s famous stadium had been shut for over two years before his arrival.

“The upper tier of the Trinity Road stand had been shut and there had been a lot of negativity, but it was opened again for my first game in charge and I really wanted to make Villa Park a place where players enjoyed playing and fans enjoyed going because I knew what an advantage it could be,” says Smith.

“We had to make that connection and get Villa Park bouncing again. We got that and Unai’s got that, too. I also tried to set standards and a culture for the players.

“I remember seeing Tammy Abraham for the first time and he came bouncing up to say that he was looking forward to working with me. I reminded him of a game he played on loan at Bristol City against Brentford. He said: ‘Yeah you battered us that day.’ And I said: ‘Yeah, I know but if you talk to me like you talked to your manager that day, then you won’t be playing.’

“It was just an early marker to set some boundaries. Jack [Grealish] thinks I did that to him as well because I subbed him off with about 10 minutes to go in my first game. We had a chat in my office and I asked him how many assists he’d got. One. How many goals? Zero. Then I asked him where he thought he could go and play and he said, ‘Premier League and England’ and I said, ‘Not with them numbers you’re not.’

“Jack was incredible for me and has gone on to achieve everything he said he wanted to and Tammy was brilliant in the season we got up as well.”

Villa have won 13 successive Premier League games at home under Emery, beating Luton Town and Fulham since the victory over West Ham, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Spaniard’s achievements are marked in the same way Smith’s were.

Under Smith, Villa set a record of 10 successive League victories on their way to promotion from the Championship, stayed in the Premier League at the first attempt, reached the Carabao Cup final, beat Manchester United at Old Trafford and famously thrashed Liverpool 7-2.

“It would be nice if Unai doesn’t take that 10-game record off me for a while,” said Smith. “Somebody sent me beer mats that say ‘Aston Villa, Dean Smith’ and they’ve got everything listed on there like the 10-game run, the 7-2, beating Birmingham City and some of the other things. I’ve got the full set!”
