Come new to this day.
Remove the rigid overcoat of experience,
the notion of knowing,
the beliefs that cloud your vision.
Leave behind the stories of your life.
Spit out the sour taste of unmet expectation.
Let the stale scent of what-ifs waft back into the swamp
of your useless fears.
Arrive curious, without the armor of certainty,
the plans and planned results of the life you’ve imagined.
Live the life that chooses you,
new every breath, every blink of your astonished eyes.
~ Prescription for the Disillusioned by Rebecca del Rio

Sam! Azelastine has gone OTC! (This is actually a bit distressing for me personally because I've been taking it daily for 7 years and the current OTC price is quadruple my insurance Rx copay and last time this happened with one of my meds, either the pharmacy or the insurance wouldn't honor the Rx price for some reason. BUT it's good news for availability and way cheaper —more than 50% decrease— for people without insurance!) There's currently only one brand (Astepro) so hopefully the price will come down when generics are available. And now you don't have to go to a doctor next time you want it 😄
I saw and I got VERY excited when I found out! Although it is missing a component that made it non-OTC in the first place, so possibly you want to talk to your doc and see about staying on the prescription stuff. Next time I'm sick I'm going to beeline for the OTC version and see if it helps!

I’m still alive to my own surprise. And still an addict with no surprise at all. I’ve just made an incredible deal with my French guy and by getting home, I’ve found my 5g from my German guy.
A couple weeks ago I went to the doctor and guess what he told me? (Nah he didn’t say “girl you better try to have fun don’t matter what you do!” Ps Sinéad O'Connor we still miss you babe). He said I must quit this stuff and get clean. Duh!!! 🙄 He refilled my prescription so now I’m drowning in pills, but how can I get clean? I mean you have to want it first, right? And I’m not in that state of mind, not at the moment…I’m sorry…

Look, heres just... a question. My sister is insisting that her readers and my distance vision glasses aren't the same thing, basically because she doesn't have a prescription for them. I've pointed out that both are corrective vision devices... Like, literally the same device outside of her being able to buy hers at a drugstore and me having to have an appointment and a prescription to spend $$$ on my glasses.
My example is that Tylenol and Oxy are both painkillers even though only one is prescription. Just because one level of relief is less severe/less commonly needed/(something the health industry can make more money off of) doesn't mean they don't do essentially the same thing. She's arguing that if she (really) needed glasses, why didn't they give her a prescription.
Anyway, what do y'all think? Kinda seriously interested here.
