The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever -- do not abandon the works of your hands.
—Psalm 138:8
Prayer: Dear Lord , no matter what’s going on in my life right now, You will preserve me, You will fulfill Your purpose for me, and You will never ever leave me or forsake me because I am the work of Your hands. Help me to live today in Your power, with Your perspective, and for Your purpose. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen

‭‭Isaiah 11:1-6 (NASB)‬‬. “Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make decisions by what His ears hear; But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. Also righteousness will be the belt around His hips, And faithfulness the belt around His waist. And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fattened steer will be together; And a little boy will lead them.”
2 Timothy 4:18 (AMPC). “[And indeed] the Lord will certainly deliver and draw me to Himself from every assault of evil. He will preserve and bring me safe unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen (so be it).”
“A Promised Hope” by In Touch Ministries:
“If you are in a season of waiting, don't become discouraged—the Lord always delivers.”
“Sometimes it can be hard to grasp how much time passed between events in the Bible. After the Old Testament’s completion, for instance, 400 years passed before God’s next direct revelation.
Let’s put that span in terms we can better comprehend. In 1620, the Pilgrims landed on the shores of what would become Massachusetts. That was 404 years ago. Think of all that has happened since then—everything from the American Revolution to man walking on the moon to the creation of artificial intelligence. God’s people waited that long without a word from the Lord! While many grew despondent, others clung to hope.
Anna, for example, was a widow and prophetess who served at the temple in Jerusalem, waiting for Israel’s redemption. She trusted that “A shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse ... and the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him” (Isa. 11:1-2). This promised Messiah would bring order, strength, counsel, and wisdom as He delighted in the Lord, and He would make everything right.
Then, at the appointed time, Anna witnessed the miracle of fulfilled prophecy as she gazed into the face of the tiny baby Jesus. In response, she praised and thanked God for being faithful to His promise (Luke 2:38). Like her, we can praise God, secure in the knowledge that God will do all He says He will do.”

Happy New Year everyone, I hope the new year is good to you!
That Thou wilt bless the crown of the coming year with Thy bounty, and quench the flames of discord, enmity and strife; that Thou wilt give us peace, perseverance, sincere love, and a virtuous disposition; we beg Thee, Lord, hear us and have mercy.
If 2023 has been a rough year for you, then I'm praying the new year is better for you.
If 2023 has been a good year for you, then I'm praying the same goodness carries on into the new year.
As much as 2023 has been a really difficult year for me, I'm very grateful for all of the people on here. The people that took their time to pray for me, to offer me support when I've been struggling with things. The people that have offered me friendship and care. Nothing I can do or say can ever really do justice to all of the support and care that people on here have shown me.
I hope that 2024 grants you the healing, love, and care that you need.
Under the read more is some other prayers for the start of a New Year
O Master, Lord our God, Fountain of life and immortality, the Creator of all things both visible and invisible, Who has appointed seasons and years by Thy power, and dost direct all things by Thy most-wise and all-gracious providence: We thank Thee for Thy compassions, which Thou hast poured out upon us during the passing time of our life, and we entreat Thee, O All-compassionate Lord! Bless the crown of the coming year with Thy goodness.  Preserve our civil authorities; multiply the days of their life in unalterable health, and grant them progress in every virtue.  Grant Thy good things from above unto Thy people: health and salvation, and good hastening in all things.  Deliver Thy Holy Church, this city, and every city and land from every evil circmstance, granting them peace and tranquility.  And count us worthy that we may always offer thanksgiving unto Thee, the Father Who is without beginning, together with Thine Only-begotten Son, and Thine All-holy and Lifegiving Spirit, God glorified in one essence, and that we may hymn Thy most-holy Name.  Glory to Thee, O God, our benefactor, unto the ages of ages.  Amen.
--------
O Lord our God, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Creator of time, existing before time and outside of time, the same yesterday, today and forever. You are the Pantocrator, the absolute Ruler who exercises sovereign authority over the entire universe and its laws. You are not limited by any natural events and occurrences, or by our action or inaction. The world is not driven by blind forces, but is governed wisely and lovingly by Your divine Providence.
You, O King and Master of the world, govern by Your almighty will the world You created as a captain governs his ship. We have nothing to be afraid of, as long as You are at the rudder. The very elements of nature obey You. Nothing happens by chance. What happens to us does not happen at random. Not a single hair from our heads falls to the ground without Your powerful will. We are in Your hands. What we are, whatever good we have in us, comes from You, the source of every goodness.
We ask You humbly, our Savior, as we enter this New Year of our salvation, to bless us all; to bless our endeavors, and everything we do. We ask You, O Lord, to bless the time You give us, that we may pass this new year of Your grace and the lifespan You have given us in repentance, forgiveness, patience, tolerance, peace, the fight against our passions, the practicing of the virtues, in doing Your will, not ours, and in accepting it cheerfully, without groaning or complaint.
Grant us, O Father Almighty, sincere faithfulness, wakeful preparedness and active witness, to be strong and grow in faith and love for You, and work diligently for the establishment of Your Kingdom, a Kingdom of peace and justice. Instill in us the longing for the establishment of Your heavenly Kingdom, a Kingdom of everlasting life, peace and joy.
We also beseech You, O Lord, to bless the entire world, and all Nations. Guide them to You, that they may come to know You, the only true God, and to do Your Holy Will. And protect, O Lord, Your Holy Church, everywhere, so that with one voice and one heart we may all praise and glorify Your most Holy and magnificent Name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Are you watching the Alex Rider show on Viaplay? It’s so good and season 3 will start soon. :)
No, I’m afraid the books and the Pettyfer film are the only AR media I’ve consumed—and, to be honest, all I care to consume. Not saying that the show can’t be or isn’t great, but I just have a very clear and dear vision of Alex (and Yassen) in my head, and like a cantankerous old fart who rails at the thought of change, I wish to preserve that image, unadulterated and idealized as hell, forever and ever amen.
Am I missing out? Probably. Is ignorance bliss? You betcha.

THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER
On July 18, 1830, at the age of twenty-four, in Motherhouse Chapel of The Daughters of Charity in Paris, France, St. Catherine Laboure received an outstanding grace.
She had been awakened that night by her Guardian Angel in the form of a beautiful child. The Angel said to Sister Catherine m, “Come to the Chapel; the Blessed Virgin is waiting for you.” In the Chapel Our Lady appeared to her and said, “My child, I am going to give you a mission.” This mission was to invite all people, young and old, to grow in holiness, and to place themselves at the service of others, especially the poor.
Four months later, in another vision, Sister Catherine learned that she was to introduce the medal of the Immaculate conception to the whole world. During this apparition, our Blesses Mother was standing on the world with serpent under her feet, symbolizing the crushing of Satan. Her arms were outstretched, and powerful rays of light shone forth. Mary explained that these rays symbolized the graces she obtains for all those who seek her intercession.
Appearing around this vision of the Blessed Virgin were the words : O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” These elements were to compose the front of the medal.
Then the vision revealed the reverse side of the medal. St. Catherine saw a cross with a bar at its feet that was intertwined with the letter “M.” Beneath the letter were the hearts of Jesus and Mary, both surmounted by flames of love. One heart bore. Crown of thorns (the Sacred Heart of Jesus). The other was pierced by a sword ( the Immaculate Heart of Mary). Encircling all of this were 12 stars, symbolic of the 12 apostles and representing the entire Church.
The Blessed Mother then said, “Have a medal struck after this model. All who wear this medal will receive great favors. Favors will abound if it is worn with devotion.” Extraordinary answers to prayer occurred immediately, and this medal came to be known throughout the world as the “Miraculous Medal.”
MIRACULOUS MEDAL PRAYER
O Virgin Mother of God,
Mary Immaculate,
we dedicate and
Consecrate ourselves
to you under the title
Of Our Lady of the
Miraculous Medal.
May this medal be
for each of us
a sure sign of our affection for us
and a constant reminder of our duties
toward you.
Ever while wearing it,
may we be blessed by your loving protection
and preserved in the grace of your Son.
O Most powerful Virgin, Mother of our Savior,
keep us close to you every moment of our lives.
Obtain for us, your children, the grace of
a happy death; so that, in Union with you,
we may enjoy the bliss of the heaven forever.
Amen.

Morning Prayer Almighty God, our heavenly Father, look upon us graciously as we wait at Your feet. Receive our thanks for the goodness of another night, and accept this consecration of our lives to You for another day. We are Your own children, and we will trust You for all that our lives need. We will strive to obey You. We shall need Your grace in order to do Your will — and we ask You to give us grace that we may be faithful and dutiful children. Enable us to do our simplest tasks for You as carefully as if they were the largest and most sacred ministries that mortal is ever set to do. May we find our Father's business . . . in our household work, in our school duties, in our play and recreation, in the affairs of our common occupations. May we learn to do all in the name of the Lord Jesus and for Him. All around us are those who need kindnesses which we can render. May You give us so much of the Spirit of Jesus, that we shall go about doing good all the day. Even while engaged at our ordinary work, may we be so filled with divine love, that we shall give help and cheer to all we meet by our cheerful manner, by our encouraging words, and by our thoughtful kindnesses. May our wayside ministry, as we move along at our work, be a ministry of continual blessing. Draw us now near to You, and give us the touch of Your hand before we go out. If we should never all come together again as a family, if death should call any of us home before the nightfall, let us not be separated in the heavenly home. Let us not fall by the way, into any sin. Mercifully preserve us from all evil. And may grace, mercy, and peace be with us all forever. Amen.

#DailyDevotion Jesus Is King Who Rules From Everlasting
Tumblr media
#DailyDevotion Jesus Is King Who Rules From Everlasting Psalm 93 The LORD is King! He is clothed with majesty. The Lord dresses in power, fastening His belt. The world also was made to stand firm and can't be moved. It is written in Deut. 32, “5And He was King in Jeshurun when their leaders were gathered and the tribes of Israel were united.” Jeshurun is a symbolic name for Israel which is upright which it never fulfilled. Moses recalls the covenant between the LORD and Israel at Mt. Sinai where the LORD became Israel's King. Now, the LORD is King. That is Jesus is the LORD who is King. That is what the Holy Spirit inspired Pontus Pilate to put above Jesus' head when He was crucified. Of course, Jesus didn't remain dead. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven at the right hand of God. In Hebrews 1:8 it is written of Jesus, “But to the Son He says: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and You rule Your kingdom with a scepter of righteousness.” In Acts 2 Peter says, “34David didn't go up to heaven, but he says: 'The Lord says to my Lord, “Sit at My right 35until I make Your enemies Your footstool.” 36“Then all the people of Israel should know it's true that God made Him Lord and Christ — this Jesus Whom you crucified.” So the Psalm here says, the LORD is King and He is clothed with majesty. Jesus is this LORD. He dresses in power fastening His belt. All power, honor, glory and might belong to our ascended LORD. It is Jesus who preserves the world by His power and might. 2Long ago Your throne was made to stand firm — You are from everlasting. Jesus' throne was made to stand firm before creation. His throne is from everlasting. He humbled Himself to come down from His throne to become man to save humanity from their sins and from death. Now He has brought His humanity with Him to the right hand of the Father and is seated again upon His throne forever. In baptism, our humanity is joined with His and we too, even now, are seated with Him in the heavenly places. (Eph. 2) From this throne Jesus rules with an iron rod and will judge the nations who oppose His reign. 3O LORD, the rivers make a noise; the rivers make their roaring noise; the rivers make a crashing noise 4but more than the noise of vast waters and mightier than the waves of the sea is the might of the LORD above! You should really watch a video on Youtube of a large shipping ship in a storm at sea. These ships are huge but on the ocean they are no more that a toy ship in your bathtub as they are thrown about. Yet this very same LORD walked upon the stormy sea. He commanded the wind and the waves to be still. As mighty as the seas are they are a mere toy to the majesty and power of our LORD Jesus Christ. The stormy seas are often used as a symbol for the politics of the world. Jesus' power and might guide the nations to their conclusion of providing for His Church, the gathering of His people from every language, nation, tribe and people and judging the nations who try to rebel against Him. They do not win. The might of Jesus is above all. 5The truths You wrote are absolutely trustworthy. In Your temple, O LORD, holiness is beautiful forever. The Word of the LORD which He gave to His prophets and apostles are absolutely trustworthy. All of His promises come to pass. We are the temple of the LORD in whom His holiness is beautiful forever. So He is constantly purifying us in this life to make us holy. Heavenly Father, Your power, honor, glory and might is demonstrated and seen in Your Son, Jesus Christ. May we put our trust in Him forever. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article

Preach the Word
Tumblr media
1 I command you therefore before God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his Kingdom: 2 proclaim the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to myths. 5 But you be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. 8 From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
9 Be diligent to come to me soon, 10 for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service. 12 But I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13 Bring the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus when you come, and the books, especially the parchments. 14 Alexander, the coppersmith, did much evil to me. The Lord will repay him according to his works, 15 of whom you also must beware; for he greatly opposed our words.
16 At my first defense, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them. 17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the non-Jewish people might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
19 Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus. 20 Erastus remained at Corinth, and I left Trophimus at Miletus, ill. 21 Be diligent to come before winter. Eubulus salutes you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers.
22 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you. — 2 Timothy 4 | New Heart English Bible (NHEB) The New Heart English Bible is in the public domain. Today the church honors Sts. Gurias, Samonas, and Habibus, Martyrs.
Orate pro nobis.
Gurias and Samonas suffered during the persecution against Christians under the emperors Diocletian (AD 284-305) and Maximian (AD 305-311). The two friends Gurias and Samonas, preachers of the Word of God, were arrested in the city of Edessa.
The saints refused to offer sacrifice to the gods, and boldly confessed their faith in Christ. For this they were subjected to cruel tortures: they were beaten, hung up by their hands, heavy weights were tied to their feet, and they were cast into a stifling prison.
The martyrs endured everything with firmness and Samonas uttered a prayer to the Lord, which one of the witnesses to their death wrote down: “O Lord my God, against Whose will not a single sparrow falls into the snare. It was You Who made room for David in his sorrow (Ps. 4:1), Who proved the Prophet Daniel stronger than lions (Dan. 6:16-24), and granted a child of Abraham to be victor over torture and flames (Dan. ch. 3, ch. 14). You know also, Lord, the infirmity of our nature, You see the struggle set before us. Our foe strives to snatch us, the work of Your right hand, away from You and to deprive us of the glory which is in You. With Your compassionate eye watching over us, preserve in us the inextinguishable light of Your Commandments. Guide our steps by Your light, and make us worthy of Your Kingdom, for You are blessed unto ages of ages.” By night, they took the martyrs out beyond the city and beheaded them on this day c. AD 306. Christians secretly buried their holy bodies with reverence.
After some years, the last pagan emperor, Licinius (AD 311-324), began a persecution against Christians. Habibus, a deacon of the Church of Edessa whom the emperor ordered to be arrested for his zealous spreading of the true Faith, presented himself before the executioners when he learned they were searching for him. The saint confessed his faith in Christ. During his multiple days of torture, Abibus was subjected to the scourging and having his body raked with iron rakes by five men. When threatened with more gruesome torture by the governor, the saint is quoted as saying: "As a tree that is watered bears fruit, so is my spirit strengthened by torment", frustrated by his powerless efforts, the Governor replied: "Does your faith teach you to hate your own body?", to which Abibus replied: "We do not hate this material body, but we rejoice in the spiritual reality; the suffering of this present time is not worth comparing with the glory that awaits those who embrace Christ." The governor mockingly replied: "Is this suffering you endure glorious?" Abibus responded: "It is not for you to ask questions, for your unbelief is not worthy to hear the answers to them, as the Scripture teaches us: do not cast that which is holy to dogs, nor pearls before swine."
Abibus was sentenced to be burned at the stake. When walking up to the stake, his mother was forced to walk beside him, dressed in all-white as if going to a feast day. He blessed the crowd before him, to which the crowd responded: "Pray for us in the presence of the Lord!" After this exchange, the martyr entered the fire on his own accords. When the fire went out, his mother and relatives found his body unharmed. They buried the martyr next to Saints Gurias and Samonas because they were martyred on the same day though several years apart, and they are commemorated together.
Almighty God, who gave to your servant Gurias, Samonas, and Habibus boldness to confess the Name of our Savior Jesus Christ before the rulers of this world, and courage to die for this faith: Grant that we may always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us, and to suffer gladly for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

FRESH MANNA
GOD’S PROMISES TO YOU
Psalm 37
God requires our participation in our successes, prosperity, and development, but all of these and our participation depend on Him.
God as our “Father” wants to prosper, bless, keep us healthy, and safe, provide for and do all and much more than our natural earthly fathers do, but we must believe and trust in him for that to happen.
Deuteronomy 28 tells us all about what God wants and doesn’t want for us, and the list is unexhaustive.
David was one man who knew how to not only praise God but also knew how to expect and receive from Him.
When he wrote Psalms 37, he was probably coming out of a stressful, difficult, and challenging period, but instead of focusing on the problems, he focused on his maker. Colossians 3:2 says to set our eyes on the things above which is where our salvation and help are.
There are 25 promises found in Psalms 37 only. These are promises to anyone who believes, and they should offer us confidence in reducing the effect of stress in life.
1. You will dwell in the land; verses 3 and 29.
2. You will be fed: verse 3.
3. He will give you your heart desires: verse 4.
4. He will bring things to pass in your life, verse 5.
5. He will bring righteousness to light, verse 6.
6. He will bring judgment on the wicked.
7. Evildoers will be cut off: verses 9,20,22,34, and 38.
8. He will give you the earth as an inheritance: verses 9,11,22,29, and 34.
9. He’ll give you an abundance of peace in the storm, verse 11.
10. He will uphold you; verses 17, and 24.
11. He promises eternal inheritance.
12. He promises that we will not be ashamed of evil things.
13. He will satisfy us in times of famine: verse 29.
14. You will not be cast down or fall.
15. He will never forsake you: verse 28.
16. He will preserve you forever.
17. He will cut off the seed of the wicked.
18. He will not allow your steps to slide, verse 31.
19. He will not give you over to the wicked: verse 33.
20. He will not condemn you.
21. You will have peace: verse 37.
22. He will give you salvation: verses 39-40.
23. You will have the strength for every battle.
24. He is your helper: verse 40.
25. You will be delivered from the wicked.
As believers, we must respond to the present evil days by trusting in the Lord, delighting in Him and submitting or surrendering to His sovereignty.
Verse 4 promises that He will give us the desires of our hearts, but we must first take delight in Him, which means aligning with His ways to enjoy his presence, grace, and favour.
We must learn to be still in God’s presence according to verse 7 and not be anxious about what the evil and wicked people are up to, as God promises, He will care for us, so, we won’t need to ever take matters into our hands. As reiterated in verses 18-20, God cares for us and will allow the wicked to perish because their weapons will turn against them declares verses 14-15. Trust in Go’s promises.
PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for promising me an inheritance in the land and Christ, may I never forget your promises of salvation and eternity in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Shalom

Prayer of Praise to God’s Glory
Heavenly God, you are the King eternal, immortal and invisible. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God; the same yesterday, today, and forever.
In times long past did you lay the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands: Yet they will perish, but you will endure; yes, all of them will grow old like a garment, as a coat you will change them, and they will be changed; but you are the same, and your years will have no end.
You alone are God, and do not change; and because of this, we may hope to be preserved. Are you not from eternity, O Lord our God, our Holy One? The everlasting God, even the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, who does not faint nor grow weary? There is no searching out your understanding, mighty Lord, but by our praise we may glorify your Holy Name, now and all our lives.
Amen.

In all that we do, let the Name of the Lord be praised, for He surrounds His chosen people with boundless love. Let our prayer rise up to Him: Lord, show us Your love. Remember Your Church, Lord, —keep Her from every evil and let Her grow to the fullness of Your love. Lord...
Let the nations recognize You as the one true God, —and Jesus, Your Son, as the Messiah whom You sent. Lord...
Grant prosperity to our neighbors, —give them life and happiness forever. Lord...
Console those who are burdened with oppressive work and daily hardships, —preserve the dignity of Your workers. Lord...
Open wide the door of Your compassion to those who have died today, —and in Your mercy receive them into Your kingdom. Lord...
Our Father....
Let Us Pray: O God, who led Saint Josephine Bakhita from abject slavery to the dignity of being Your daughter and a bride of Christ, grant, we pray, that by her example we may show constant love for the Lord Jesus crucified, remaining steadfast in charity and prompt to show compassion. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Psalm 121:7-8 KJV
God will keep us all from harm if we let him. He is our Shepherd we shall not want. (Psalm 23:1-3) He is the rock of my strength, and my refuge. (Psalms 62:7) He will do this for you forever. Let Him in.
Forgive me for ever doubting You, precious God! You are my refuge and salvation, please hear my prayer. Lead me as Your sheep, so that I can remove my burdens. Protect me from evil, and teach me to detect it on my own. I ask this of You in your eternal grace, O Lord. I shall leave everything else to You. Amen.

Now that we are about to lie down to sleep, grant us, 0 Master, the repose of our soul and body. Preserve us against the dark slumber of sin and against any impure satisfaction that roams around in the darkness of night. Quiet the assaults of our passions; arrest the darts that the Evil One insidiously throws at us; still the commotions of our flesh, and calm all earthly and worldy feelings within us. Grant us, 0 Lord, a watchful mind, innocent thoughts, a sober heart, a gentle sleep free from evil dreams; at the hour of prayer, arouse us, strong in the practice of Your commandments and ever-mindul of Your desires. Give us the grace to sing Your glory throughout the night; to praise, bless, and glorify Your all-honorable and magnificent Name, Father +, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever. Amen.
