This is a component of President Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending plan for climate change and social infrastructure.
Excerpt from this story from The Hill:
The House Ways and Means Committee’s portion of Democrats' $3.5 trillion spending package includes increased tax incentives for clean energy and the creation of new tax credits for electric-vehicle owners, according to text released by Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) late Friday night.
The committee’s portion would increase the production tax credit rate for wind and solar power to the full applicable rate through the end of 2031, which would then phase down to 80 percent in 2032 and 60 percent in 2033.
It would also increase the energy credit for solar energy facilities built in low-income communities, the rate of which would be based on a combination of health and economic benefits for those communities as well as job opportunities and engagement.
The bill would also provide a $2,500 tax credit for energy-efficient, single-family new homes, as well as credits for energy-efficient, multi-family homes. It would triple the credit for installation of nonbusiness energy efficiency improvements to 30 percent and substitute a $1,200 annual lifetime cap on such credits.
Separately, it would create a new tax credit for the production of renewable hydrogen, with the percentage based on the reduction to lifecyle greenhouse gas emissions. Although some renewable energy advocates have touted major potential in hydrogen, environmental groups like Earthjustice have warned it would present a “false solution” if it is derived from fossil fuels.

My home country is under attack.
Afghanistan is under attack and the Taliban has taken full control of Kabul, Afghanistan’s Capital.
Tumblr media
The United States has been at war with Afghanistan for twenty (20) years, subsequently killing hundreds of thousands of innocents, including children.
The US withdrew from war with no peace agreement to stop the fighting in Afghanistan, and now Afghanistan can and most likely will become a Taliban-run country. And no one is saving the innocents.
I don’t really think people understand what this devastation has to do with them, so please read this. (Credit: @.criticalanalysisuk on IG)
Tumblr media
Please #SaveAfghanistan. The world is staying silent to this genocide of innocents. Spread the word, reboot, and please donate.
Send letters to your local government officials, try to help my country before it becomes a thing of the past.
Afghanistan is a beautiful country, rich in natural minerals. It was so innocent, and does not deserve this.
Help us. Help the people in #Afghanistan be heard when they do not have a voice. #SaveAfghanistan

It’s official!
Tumblr media
Today, January 20, 2021, is Trump’s last day in office as President Biden was given power by a fair and free election.
Tumblr media
As of today, President Biden is now the leader of the United States of America.
Tumblr media
He’s got a lot of work ahead of him in healing our country, but he’s up to the task and gave a speech that gave me hope for the first time in over four years.
Tumblr media
Kamala Harris is our first female, first black, and first Asian-American Vice President. Jewish history is also being made with this new administration!
Tumblr media
We went from MAGA to Gaga, today, with our gay icon giving a rousing performance.

Jennifer Lopez nearly brought me to tears when she had the mic!
Tumblr media
Amanda Gorman, the youngest inaugural poet in our history, gave a poignant performance resonated with us all.

why do i get so angry when americans (generally white, generally men) say they’re apolitical? because politics is no longer about politics. (in some ways, it never was.) politics in this country is life and death. it’s about survival. $15 minimum wage? that’s about survival. lgbtq+ rights? survival. recognizing and supporting BIPOC communities? fucking. survival. and if you have the privilege and the audacity to tell me you’re apolitical, all i hear is that you don’t give two shits about anyone other than yourself.

[Image descriptions. Two gifs. The first is of Trump openly mocking a disabled reporter by mimicking muscle spasms. The second is of Biden’s victory speech, wherein he says: “We must make the promise of the country real for everybody — no matter their race, their ethnicity, their faith, their identity, or their disability.”]
I was originally going to put a cheeky comment like, “I’ll just casually leave this here”, but this warrants a further analysis and since I’m a wheelchair-user, a disability advocate, and doing a PhD in Disability Studies (and regardless, you don’t need actual credentials to post an analysis on tumblr), here you go:
There’s a reason that #SayTheWord is trending (alongside #CripTheVote). At least 1/4 of Americans are disabled, yet the topic of disability is rarely discussed by elected officials, who have the ability and the responsibility to amplify the voices and shape the tones of America. When you have a president openly mock a disabled reporter, and his defenders arguing that he was just and I quote, “imitating a standard retard”, what does that say about the way disabled people are perceived?
Joe Biden saying the word ‘disability’ in an inclusive manner is the first metaphorical step towards what could hopefully be a commitment to openly portraying disability rights as civil/human rights. Yes, you could argue that words are nothing compared to actions, and yes, we still need to be critical of 46, but the bar is a line painted on the floor, and if nothing else, it’s a relief that America’s president-elect is AWARE of the bar.
