There’s an alternate reality where Jackie survives to be rescued, and Van rolls up 25 years later with booze to share with everyone, “except you. You know what you did.”

Oh, I love Georgie so much, he's such a sweetheart. He's always had good vibes to me. He's very quiet and introverted, and he's struggled behind Igor because he wants the starting position, and who can blame him? He hasn't been happy in New York, and I really hope he can find a place in Colorado.

Queer reads: Avon Gale & Piper Vaughn

Day 30! And this one is on time! Okay, to round out my sport romance section, I give you Avon Gale & Piper Vaughn. (side note: I only had room for 3 posts for sport romances, and let me tell you, there are hundreds. Thousands, probably. Some better than others, but I’ve really only scraped the surface of the gay sport romance genre)

So, this is the Hat Trick series, which is a sport thing (yes, I figured out what a hat trick is, it’s a hockey thing). 

Avon Gale has lots of books, some co-written, some not, as does Piper Vaughn, but having read some of each, I think I like their cowriting together the best. (Avon Gale has a couple books cowritten with Roan Parrish, who I also like, but surprisingly I was not moved by the one I read. It lacked something for me.) 

Anyway, Off The Ice is book 1, and I think my favorite of the three, because it features a sunshine/asshole dynamic, and I love that shit. These books are more about the characters than they are about the sports, and I enjoyed the relationships between the characters, and in particular, I enjoyed the dialogue in these books. A+ banter. 

I said I liked these two writing together better than their other stuff, but I also really enjoyed her Scoring Chances series, which is five books about a minor-er league than the NHL and the hockey players there.
