man I know that Stede looked good in the second season with the open shirt and the leather pants but man. i need you guys to understand that whenever I picture Stede he's got lace or silk somewhere on him. spiritually he will always be my little guy with bows on his shoes.

I love the idea of Jack pickpocketing Belle for fun/to tease her and/or him and Fagin teaching her how to do it as well.

Bonus points if like she surprises them and is actually pretty decent at it. Like since Jack is so skilled at surgery because of his quick fingers from pickpocketing then the reverse is true too, Belle’s quick fingers from surgery make her a natural at thieving.

sorry i'm thinking abt megumi's incessant desire to be the first to die vs. the narrative keeping him alive despite and how the most tragic ending for him is not actually dying, but being left behind. for megumi, the worst fate is living a long life

#megumi growing up assuming he will be the first to die out of those he loves #bc gojo is the Strongest and tsumiki is a non-sorcerer so they should both be Safe while megumi is just. megumi #vs megumi at 15 having lost tsumiki gojo nobara nanami etc etc and knowing it's only a matter of time before he loses yuuji too #megumi not knowing how to be the survivor because he never thought he'd live long enough to have to say goodbye #also sometimes i think abt that post that was like... remember in thg how katniss' motivation for Everything is saving prim?#and then prim still died at the end because the world they lived in could not allow someone so good to live? it could not allow #katniss the One thing she wanted most #yeah so like. everything megumi is doing and has done has been for tsumiki. it's all been for her #but the world they live in is cruel and tsumiki is too good of a person #and when has megumi ever been granted anything he's wanted? why should the world allow him his one biggest desire of tsumiki's safety?#and what is megumi supposed to do when he outlives the one person who has been by his side - the one person he wanted most to save #how is he supposed to live a long life when everyone he cares about is gone? how is he supposed to care about new people?#what's that one quote that's like. a son or a husband can be replaced but who can grow me a new brother #no one can replace tsumiki. megumi cannot find a new sister #yes losing gojo and yuuji would be devastating. but at the end of the day megumi has known yuuji for only a few months #and gojo was already a replacement for his father #tsumiki has been with him longest and she's always been megumi's main motivation #she's the reason he didn't go to the zenin clan. she's the reason he was trained by gojo. she's the reason they're all in the culling games #trying to fix it from the inside and running on a time limit #and what happens if he CAN'T save her. what happens if. like katniss and prim. despite EVERYTHING. tsumiki still has to die #THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF TSUMIKI #BECAUSE MEGUMI WANTS TO SAVE HER #DO YOU UNDERSTAND!!!!! One way in which, I think, BG3 succeeds in emulating tabletop DND experience - though, admittedly, It may be more of an achievement of its writing rather than game design - is sending player characters down unexpected development paths.

My favorite ttrpg experience have always been the moments when you realize that through the interaction between other players' actions, your own choices and the ongoing story, your character has now developed traits that you did not originally intend for them to have.

Those really are fascinating moments, ones that have always been difficult to explain to people who never experienced them - even though the mechanic between them is very simple and non-mystical. Something happened that you did not expect, and you react in the ways you may not have expected either! It's trivial, but the result is quite magical - when you see a character escape beyond your full control, becoming something onto themselves and making you not the sole master of their story.

Anyway, shoutout to my first BG3 playthrough, where my hoity-toity noble paladin - who had a whole dramatic arc from the stock of "difficult relationship with a position of leadership that awaits him in a distant homeland" set up for him - awkwardly confessed to Karlach, got politely rejected, went off to sulk, had Lae'zel come onto him, apathetically agreed and then proceeded to have his brains fucked out so hard that it completely changed the direction of his story and had him fighting on the frontlines of a space revolution not even a full month after.

#my durge playthrough also had quite a lot of such unexpected character development #but it was not as funny as #'prim and proper paladin boy gets his world so rocked by a mildly kinky encounter that he abandons all preconceived notions of his identity #so I am sticking with that one for the post #bg3 #baldur's gate 3 #lae'zel

Everyone I know told me I should use Olberic for warmaster or runelord but unfortunately you can pry my terrifying apothecary from my cold dead hands. He's learning to spread life AND death! He's regaining 12sp per sword swing! He's using them to make the most ominous resurrection proclamations you've ever heard! It's basically perfect enrichment for him. Tressa 6/8 travelers remain!
