Beatrice Gwyn (1875-1938)

Lady's maid of Primrose Gray, she was six years her senior and since childhood the two of them were friends until, at fifteen, she asked to be in her service and was accepted when the Lady Gray was only nine.

The two of them were like sisters to her and was the only servant willing to follow her to Hogwarts despite being a muggle, refusing to leave her lady to fend for herself. There, she fended off the opportunists and curated her experience, being the older sister she always wished for. She retired in 1935 due to an illness and passed away in 1938 with Lady Gray by her side, holding her hand. She was 63 years old

Alfred Carrow (1898-1986)

A cunning grandson of a miner who aimed for more, he was sent to a boy's school where he learned to write, read, basic English history and politics.

After job-hunting for three years, he heard in a gentleman's club that Lord Vincent of Winbourne was looking for loyal men to support him against his powerful and influential mother and take his place as the heir back, and Alfred did not miss his chance.

At first he was indifferent of Vincent, but with time and being his butler, he grew fond of the boy (despite being only three years older than him) and ended up being his most loyal manservant, and dying at Winboune at the age of 88.

Ansel Heredia (1928-2001)

Son of a Spanish immigrant, Ansel was born in Winbourneshire and raised near the Somersets, and soon his wit, intellect, sense of duty and iron will attracted Lord Lawrence, who soon hired him after his 18th birthday and made sure he knew how to read, write, talk properly, manners, protocol and politics.

He made an excellent service and was soon rewarded by being married to the granddaughter of the beloved and late Emma Barry, Mary. They had a happy marriage and he served the viscount until his death. He died years later in 2001, aged 73

Scott Hudson (1948-????)

A highly smart, ambitious, cunning and extremely loyal and man, he always knew he'd either serve the nobility or marry into it, for they still ruled England. He was hired by the Viscountess Millicent so her son Charles would have help to be shaped into a smart man.

He served with admiration and loyalty to Charles and was like a brother to him, and even admired and appreciated by Viscountess Ismene. He is still alive and serving Charles even after retiring as a viscount.

Annita May (1970-????)

Secretary of Valentina, she's still her most loyal servant and handles the difficult affairs of Winbourne and makes sure everything's in order and hires the other staff and makes sure that 90% of the staff is loyal to the heiress and nothing goes out without a hitch.

She's still alive and serving the viscountess until she steps out

Helen Arnold was a descendant of the Langston family. She was Agnes Scott (nee Langston)'s grandchild. Agnes married Albert Devlin who was...

The nephew of Leon Devlin (father of Primrose and Marigold). Leon had a brother named Timothy, who had three children of his own including Albert. Albert Devlin had 6 children - one out of wedlock, and 5 with his wife Helen. His siblings also had many children.

What you can't see is how many descendants have flowed on from this branch of the tree - especially because there were so many sons, so the name Devlin kept on carrying.

David Devlin was the great-grandchild of Helen and Albert. He was Pearl Dreyfus's boyfriend and he left her when she fell pregnant with their son Buddy. David went on to marry after this and had 5 sons. Only one of them produced a descendant, and all of them died of accidental causes in their youth.

Buddy's only son, Sam, married another Devlin 🤦🏼‍♀️

Nevertheless, there are still so many Devlin's hanging out as a result of their prolofic breeding. I can't keep track of them anymore.

Also because she doesn't strike me as the type to give up her life and career to roam the woods of Massachusetts with him, or let him wax lyrical about faux Buddhism and Eckhart Tolle, and all that other nonsense. Say what you want about her, but she gives me strong hustler energy. She is almost always working. Now that SAG Aftra is on strike, she has booked herself a West End gig with Kristin Scott Thomas. I respect her work ethic and drive to make something of herself.

Well, and here's the thing - she's fundamentally a London girl. She's part of the second iteration of the Primrose Hill set. That's her world, and she's not leaving it. I still think she might have considered arranging something with someone stateside while she was here filming the Pam & Tommy series, but she's not the type to move here.

Octopath and loose ends

so as much as I want these travelers to just have a happy ending and live peacefully after everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING)

there are. several things. that I feel like in-universe they really need to address and it has been driving me nuts for weeks

oh yeah MASSIVE spoilers btw so proceed with caution it’s gonna be a long ride of a LOT of loose ends that I REALLY want to see get addressed by the characters in some form

OPHILIA’S TALE - Just. Ophilia- you know. the Flamebearer.- was drugged in Chapter 3 by her sister after the passing of Archbishop Josef. After the Bishop of Goldshore's daughter was fucking kidnapped by cultists. - And it turns out the fucking Bishop didn't fall ill he was fucking murdered and oh my god an investigation needs to be fucking launched - Speaking of investigation- Wispermill in its entirety was almost wiped out by a cult led by some merchant they had in the Lionel Consortium. Whatever the hell that is.

CYRUS’S TALE - Quarrycrest and the blood rituals in the sewers. Cyrus has also killed the culprit, by the way. In self-defense, so it's all good- but there were fucking blood rituals happening in the fucking sewers man what- - sO YOU WOULD THINK THAT CYRUS KILLING HIS EMPLOYER AND HIS ASSITANT WOULD LET HIM GET OFF SCOTT-FREE. TO BE FAIR, IT WAS ALL IN SELF-DEFENSE, BUT THERE IS NO WAY THEY AREN'T INVESTIGATING THIS. ESPECIALLY SINCE THERESE IS A NOBLEWOMAN RELATED TO THE ROYAL FAMILY. SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK. - And there's no way that Cyrus is going to keep his mouth shut over the tomes in the Ruins of Eld. Somehow I don't doubt that there's going to be messy politics surrounding those books given that apparently they don't have a fucking printing press yet.

TRESSA’S TALE - So Quarrycrest doesn't just have a fucking kidnapping problem, but it also has economic problems- which doesn't really sound good when most of the town's economy hinges on the provisions that the person who owned that territory gets sent packing by a tiny merchant. It's great that they don't have someone who deals in slavery anymore but there ain't no way people aren't freaking out over this sudden lack of management. - The Grandport Merchant's Fair was infiltrated by Obsidians. I don't have any real idea how much of a problem this really is, but dang a person could have died that day in the sewers so

OLBERIC’S TALE  - Erhardt. Just… Erhardt. The man. Is an actual war criminal. Who has committed the highest form of treason. The guy killed his king and was directly responsible in some way for the fall of an entire Kingdom. And you're gonna tell me??? He's not gonna get charged??? For any of this??? Erhardt I love you but wHAT THE FUCK MAN- - Riverford had public burnings at the stake and this has been going on for several years- long enough that the town got fed up with it and finally got enough ball to start a revolution. A whole-ass revolution that the Unbending Blade- who is alive and has been walking around and should be legally dead at this point and is also the wINNER OF A WELL-KNOWN TOURNAMENT IN VICTOR'S HOLLOW- has assisted in, alongside the Blazing Blade who may I remind people has committed fucking REGICIDE on WERNER'S ORDERS

PRIMROSE’S TALE - Primrose's entire kill quest is her taking down a whole-ass criminal organization that has been terrorizing the continent for presumably decades. This should be investigated for more reasons than just her charges of first-degree murder. - Stillsnow??? Should really be investigated??? Because what the fuck the Obsidian Manse is a whole fucking human trafficking site??? And the entire town is privy to this information?? IT'S SO CLOSE TO FLAMESGRACE HOW MUCH BALL DO THEY HAVE TO KEEP UP THIS CHARADE - Man if Noblecourt wasn't already such a political mess then it'd be an even worse mess by the time Primrose leaves it- the Obsidians may be shitty but it's implied that they were pretty much running Noblecourt. There's gotta be SOME form of anarchy going down in that city even if it's ultimately better off without the Obsidians running the show - AND SPEAKING OF RUNNING SHOWS THERE'S EVERHOLD AND IT'S NOT LIKE SIMEON'S BODY TURNED TO DUST AFTER THE ENTIRE THING LIKE MATTIAS'S HAD AKSJAKSLAS

ALFYN’S TALE - Surprisingly clean but Goldshore has got to be extra wary of passing apothecaries ever since Vanessa came and fucked them up with the Gaborra Evergreen - Alfyn himself is kind of sus because what even is slumberthorn that sounds like a hell of a sedative- aND WHY DOES HE JUST CASUALLY HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT

THERION’S TALE - sO NOT ONLY IS WELLSPRING HOME TO AND DEPENDENT ON A WAR CRIMINAL'S PROTECTION BUT THEY ALSO HAVE A BLACK MARKET. EITHER BALE AND ERHARDT ARE JUST CONSTANTLY DRUNK OR THEY LEGITIMATELY HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE THAT THIS MARKET EXISTS. OR MAYBE IT WAS CUZ OF THE LIZARDMEN BEING REALLY CONVENIENT DISTRACTIONS??? EITHER WAY THIS MARKET NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED JESUS CHRIST - So if Darius is a formal lord of Northreach. Shouldn't. People be investigating his death. Or at least his disappearance. Namely at the hands of the guy that has actively been a thorn in his side and has been featured in Wanted posters. Bro-

H'AANIT’S TALE - Surprisingly H'aanit's tale is the most legal. She's literally on a church-sanctioned hunt so pretty much everything she does in her tale is legal. I mean excluding the siccing of various monsters against her obstacles, her record is just clean as fuck and that amazes me.

POST-GAME - SO IS NO ONE GOING TO TALK ABOUT GALDERA AFTER THE FACT??? THIS SOUNDS??? LIKE A VERY IMPORTANT THING TO TALK ABOUT WITH EVERYONE IN THE CONTINENT? THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE GATE OF FINIS IS GOING TO BE KEPT A SECRET ESPECIALLY IF IT CONTAINS A THREAT LIKE GALDERA INSIDE OF IT, EVEN IF RIGHT NOW THERE'S NO FEASIBLE WAY FOR HIM TO BE RELEASED. THIS WAS WHY THE KINGDOM OF HORNBURG FELL FOR GOD'S SAKE. - AND KIT- WHERE THE HELL DOES KIT GO??? George Heriot was probably born in Edinburgh, where he followed his father into a career as a goldsmith. His premises consisted of a booth near St.Giles in Edinburgh. In 1588 he was made a member of the Incorporation of Goldsmiths and was elected their Deacon in 1593.

He became very wealthy through money lending, and his clients included King James VI. James appointed George goldsmith to his queen, Anne of Denmark, in 1597 and, in 1601, he was appointed jeweller and goldsmith to the king himself. When James succeeded to the English throne,

Heriot moved to London and set up at the Court of St James in London. He was widowed twice. He married Christian Marjoribanks in 1586. She died about 1603. His second wife, Alison, the 16 year old daughter of Archibald Primrose, writer in Edinburgh, whom he married in 1609, died during her first pregnancy in 1612.

He died on this day 1624 and was buried at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London. His legendary wealth inspired the character of ‘Jinglin’ Geordie’ in Sir Walter Scott’s novel 'Fortunes of Nigel’ and in turn the Jinglin’ Geordie bar on Fleshmarket Close just off Cockburn Street.

He left no surviving legitimate children, but bequeathed a substantial amount for the provision of a hospital school in his home city for 'puir faitherless bairns’. His hospital is now George Heriots School, Heriot-Watt University also perpetuates his name.

Killian WAS my Kay (and all my main characters since then lol). My Nathalia is Annalise Basso (who was also Primrose Pevensey in Guilty Banished) 

I’m still moderately obsessed with Killian Scott to the point that I frequently re-re-rewatch his shows. Kay was one of my favorite heroes in a long time. He’s insecure, noble, and entirely oblivious to his good looks. (PS. The romance in this book is a bit on the taboo side, due to age differences and adopted family stuff)

Ghost Adventures part 2

So I already did a post on the Ghost Adventures episode on Bobby Mackeys, and it turns out they went back in season 4 to shoot another episode. By now I feel the need to keep criticizing these shows, since I put in so many hours researching the nightclub and Pearl Bryan.

HOLY SHIT THIS BRO IS CLAIMING THE FIRST HUNT HE DID AT BOBBY MACKEYS WAS A BIG FACTOR IN HIS DIVORCE. HOLY SHIT.

So a detail I find funny is that in Bobby Mackeys song 'Johanna', he sets the scene as being in the 1930s, and Zak Bagans always says that the version of the nightclub she worked at was the Latin Quarter. Jokes on him, the Latin Quarter wasn't established until 1947. The building was known as The Primrose club in the 1930s.

"What we've discovered in our experiences is when you go into an abandoned building, thats been sitting there for 10, 20, 30 years, the spirits, the ghosts, they've taken ownership of that building."

"This building was abandoned until Bobby Mackey discovered it."

So the building had not sat abandoned for more than a few years between business ventures. Before Bobby Mackey's opened in 1978 it was known as the Hard Rock Cafe (likely not part of the famous chain of restaurants), and there were only a few weeks between the Cafe closing and Mackey's opening. Before it was the Cafe it was the Latin Quarter, and I found a newspaper suggesting that the Latin Quarter stayed in operation until at least 1970. I couldn't find an opening date for the Hard Rock, but articles suggested it was open for a number of years. The building has not sat abandoned for more than a decade for the past hundred years. I doubt it was abandoned for more than a year or two.

NO! NO NO NO NO NO! WRONG! Pearl Bryan was murdered at the intersection of the Alexandria Pike and Highland Ave, several miles away! It's confirmed it happened there because she was found in a large pool of blood that formed when her head was cut off when she was still living, several doctors confirmed it, and I would say modern doctors would agree. And also SCOTT JACKSON WAS NOT A FUCKING SATANIST. HE WAS AN ASSHOLE WHO MURDERED HIS PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE HE WANTED SEX BUT NOT A BABY FROM HER.

This is why you do your own research people. You can enjoy the TV show or movie all you want, but if you really want to know history you have to find real sources for the answers.

oh man I have a whole ass note that I typed up for a friend who visited so ill put that under a cut here cause its long JNFHJIK

and paris I didnt get to do much when I went but the eiffel tower obvi and the lourve if you have a lot of time cause its fucking huge jNBFHGHUJI and we went to Ferdi for dinner its where like bella gigi and the kardashians always go but its honestly so good imo jfnhbhujiek

here is my london tips note:

London

Camden Market: takes a bit to get there (on northern like most likely if you are in central) about an hour: would def be a tad activity, theres lots of shops and markets and food stands decent prices too 

Soho: tourist trap city but super fun and always crowded has all the chain stores and such and china town is there I tried a few different Chinese places all were super good 

Carnaby Street: In soho main attraction with all the shops and restaurants and bars

Shoreditch: cute area new and up and coming

Spitalfields market: in shoreditch, super cute market closes early though usually around 5pm, has cute vendor shops and lots of fun food vendors and has cute shops around it as well (humble crumble had amazing desserts and dumpling shack had the best dumplings I ever had)

Brick Lane: lots of Indian and other asian cuisine foods and great bakeries, on the weekend it turns into an outdoor market with lots of vintage shops and food vendors

Notting Hill/Portobello road: super cute also takes a bit to get here, def recommend going on the weekend especially for portobello market its only open Saturdays and Sundays: streets of vendors and markets and street food, the cute pastel colored houses are all over for good insta pics

Hyde park: huge and cute for picnics but you dont need to go here any park will do tbh

London Eye: super cool it was $33 when I went, waited in line for about 45 mins and then you’re on for 30 mins if you have time its cool but not a need

Westminster Abbey/Parliament square/Big Ben: same area you will probably wanna go here just for the walking tour its cool to see and take pictures but its basically like a time square lots of tourists just walking around taking pictures *strawberry tours: free walking tours of west end landmarks to see all of them ^^^ 

Also recommend the Jack the Ripper tour they do if you are into true crime/horror*

Trafalgar Square/Picadilly Circus: very close together you can walk from one to the other, also kind of like a time square full of tourists taking pictures 

Regent Street: right next to picadilly circus more up scale shopping and fancier stores has a super good Zara though

Ronnie Scotts: jazz club open till like 6am in soho

Hampstead Heath: so beautiful but VERY muddy wear rainboots or shoes you dont mind getting filthy if you’re gonna walk around

Covent Garden: cute market with mostly chain stores, theres a shake shack in there which I frequented often lol and has lots of cute areas surrounding it

Oxford Street: lots and lots of shopping huge primark there which I did most of my shopping

Baker Street/Bond Street: more shopping not a necessity to go to

Harrods: super cool to see but also a tourist trap but the food market is insane so if you’re gonna go anywhere in there I would just go to that 

Selfridges: a smaller harrods but also not as fancy and expensive 

Kensington: such a fun and cute area lots of cute cafes and cute shopping areas and has the classic looking houses like in the parent trap 

Chelsea: next to Kensington super cute and fancy nothing really to do though

Primrose Hill: suer fancy are has the huge park and hill where you can see the London skyline amazingly (hill is a bitch to walk up but view is worth it imo) the pics of harry in that weird body suit with organs were there lmfao and also Eleanor is always walking her dog there lmfao

Borough Market: on the Southside of the river (across from central London) but super cool food vendors open mainly during the week till 5pm

Oxford Circus: huge strip of stores, restaurants etc similar to id say 5th ave in nyc but way more cool

Liberty London: kind of like a fancy Macys but has way cuter stuff and stores

Farm girl: theres one in notting hill and one in soho I went to the notting hill one, amazing breakfast but you need to make a reservation in advanced if you wanna go

Victoria & Albert Museum: free and has the harry cardigan (also Harris reed exhibit but that was $25)

Salisbury’s: great for cheap food if you end up cooking and meal deals, also super cheap bakery items, I would get a croissant every morning for 95 cents

Boots: super cheap food like a 7/11 and meal deals

Pret A Manger: sign up for 1 free month trial to get up to 5 free barista made drinks a day

Boots: convince store and pharmacy all in one like a CVS 

Simmons: great chain bar with cheap drinks and fun vibes

Weatherspoons: basically an Applebee’s with cheap drinks and food

Gails Bakery: good bakery items and lunch food 

The Ivy: theres multiple locations but great for a splurge dinner one night, soho or covent garden ones look most fun, we did covent garden one

Sketch: the infamous pink room tea place but they just changed the pink room smh but it has other cool rooms if you want to splurge one day and do tea and brunch and of course the iconic instagramable bathroom is there too

Ole & Steen: chain, good cafe and coffee shop for a quick lunch

Kanada-Ya: good ramen place 

Eataly London: multiple restaurants and wine bars
