Qyle, Aliandra’s younger brother, is one of those candidates, because we don’t know if Aliandra ever had children

Qyle would have been a bit older by the submission of sunspear which is why I went with Marwain Kenzari

Marence Nymeros Martell - Rayane Allali

Elio and Linda give Maron and Myriah’s father the name “Marence” in the game Blood of Dragons.

It’s only semi canonical though and it should be noted that we don’t know how he’s related to Aliandra.

If Marence is Aliandra (or Qyle)’s son, he likely would have been a bit young when Daeron’s war starts so I went with a younger face for him

Maron Nymeros Martell - Tahar Rahim

Maelor Nymeros Martell - Fu'ad Aït Aattou

I specifically looked for a mixed model for this one, and Fu’ad is French and Moroccan.

Now, obviously Maelor is a Valyrian name, but it’s close to a Dornish one as well - Mallor.

I thought, given how much Maron is said to love Daenerys as well as the story Doran tells of Daenerys teaching her son how to rule, that Daenerys had a heavy hand in raising him and perhaps in naming him as well, something virtually no other lady has control over in the series

Hence, Maelor - it sounds like Baelor, it’s a less common Valyrian name, but it sounds Dornish enough as well. Kind of a meeting of both cultures, just like their son would be.

Loreza Nymeros Martell - Leila Bekhti.

This meta here lays out why Loreza is likely her name but to sum up:

Oberyn is clearly trying to reunite his family through the names of his children with Ellaria. Elia, Obella for himself, Doreah for Doran, and Loreza probably for his mother.

Let me tell you why I don't like Marcus.

I usually always support those amazing, sweet, good hearted second love interests who gets thrown out and broken hearted when the hero/heroine picks the other guy (who sometimes is toxic and not as good as the second guy). For example I was mad at Eric Effiong when he discarded Rahim for Adam in s2 of Sex Education (nvm I fell for adam in s3).

But Marcus reminds me of all the entitled 'Nice guys' I have met in my life. They have no other quality except being 'nice' and by nice I mean not doing anything hurtful as in the bare minimum. Marcus basically did the bare minimum by being nice to Simon and courting him. But that made him feel entitled that he needs to picked over the guy Simon time and time again said he is still hung up on. Marcus thought that since Wilhelm is a prince, he'll never choose Simon. Wilhelm is way out of Simon's league. So even if Simon is heartbroken, he'll eventually come around when he'll realize he doesn’t stand a chance. That's why Marcus promised they'll take it as slow as Simon wants because he thought with time Simon will forget Wilhelm and since Wilhelm will not give Simon the time of the day, it won't be difficult. He didn’t try to listen to Simon. Instead manipulated him saying that Simon isn't like his dad, meaning someone who is toxic and sabotages his relationships.

In fact I don't think Simon even cheated on Marcus. Didn't they say they are taking it slow? They just started going out. They never made it official, Simon didn’t want to, Marcus said it was okay. And after sleeping with Wilhelm the first thing he did is go to Marcus to break it up. So if you weren’t even dating, not sleeping with each other, just hanging out while making it clear you are not ready for anything serious, is it even cheating if you get back together with your ex and tell the other guy almost immediately that it's over? I don't think so.

ok, so the other day my partner and i were talking about characters' names, the context being "oh, some characters don't match the names they were given" and it got me thinking... what would i name the love island characters if i had that power... or what they would name themselves... it gets a little mixed, don't worry about it.

i'm doing this or all seasons, especially the ones i didn't play because... it's fun and i already don't know/care about their grace.

alright, let's begin!

gary - SOLID KYLE, and i say this as a gary stan. he looks like someone who would chug on mountain dew and post those cowboy tik toks showing off his truck. i'm sorry but if you're american you know it's true and it's undeniable. idk what the british equivalent of that is... perhaps gary LOL

ibrahim - chadwick something the third. i remember seeing someone making fun of chadwick boseman (rest in peace) because his name is so white, and by rahim's behavior and way of talking it's giving carlton from 'fresh prince of bel-air. he's a fucking chadwick and you cannot convince me otherwise.

lucas - his father would want to name him fucking archibald because they're filthy rich, but his mom knows better, so she chose lucas. i think it's perfect for him and i wouldn't change it.

henrik - a solid andreas. look at him, he's an andreas! very sweet but still nordic enough to make you wonder.

bobby - probably the day of the week he was born, because if his parents are dumb enough to name him bobby, what would stop them from naming him friday? or maybe the season he was born, spring...

jakub - his name can stay the same because he looks like a jakub, HOWEVER, he would demand everyone to call him by his nickname: white shark

rocco - fernando. and not in the way you say it in english or spanish, but in portuguese. "faer-nã-doo", he would insist because... he's a douche.

graham - a hebrew name that means lovely, so like... jeremiah, or jebediah. probably jebediah. he does not give graham, he gives "catholic mother that is a little too lost in bible lore".

arjun - because he's conceited, (i like him but that smirk is so over-the-top) rahul. every fucking raul or rahul i've ever met was a conceited jerk so... call this based off life experiences.

elijah - it's giving william, maybe willard, even wilford. definitely a nickname that leads you to believe it's william but it's every other name under the sun except for the most common.

kassam is actually perfect, the right amount of exotic vanilla that he disperses.

carl - a nerdy name that wasn't necessarily born in the 40's, so leonard. it's a solid mix between young and old for me, and that's just who carl is. leonard is leo when he's younger, then stays solid for a 30-something-yo, then it's even more solid when you get old. granted, so is carl but i hate that fucking name.

noah - ambrose. um... SHOULD I JUST MOVE ON? it's perfect for him!

felix - (my partner said "lobster" without a second thought and i thought i would share with the class) but to me he looks like a solid martin, although he tries to make a nickname like max catch on, it's not successful.

the s2 girls:

lottie - she probably has a conservative name, like anne marie but lies about it saying she was named after a witch, like piper or sybil. final name would be piper (charmed fans will get it).

hope - viola. i love it, it's simple, small and it can mean so many things depending on what language you speak. in english is a type of violin, but in portuguese it's a type of guitar, and i love that for her. she's a very musical person so that's my name for her.

marisol - she's a solid valentina, the type of name that says a lot about personality. marisol, to me, is such a whimsical name. it doesn't say "intelligent, brave, bold", it says "i sell flowers by the road and wear a dress made out of hemp. also i call my vagina sacred temple." and that's not what homegirl is giving, so definitely valentina.

chelsea - i just hate the name chelsea, despite thinking she looks like one, so i'm naming her summer, because bright, hot, a little out there. everyone named summer (except the girl in The O.C) is a whimsical person, and that's how i feel she is.

hannah - she's a fucking daisy.

shannon - she's giving "my parents gave me the whitest name they could think of but i use a cool nickname" so i'm naming her madison but she calls herself "mad". her parents though? "maddie!"

blake - she's a fully-blown yasmin. it's the type of name that makes you second guess everything you thought about the person because you're not sure where that name is from, or what it means, and that's how i feel about her.

priya - i actually love that name for her, and i don't have as much contact with female indian names to have that... knowledge you know? i like it, keep it.

elisa - beatrice, but she uses "bea" and the bea-hive, because branding. WHY CALLING HER A NAME THAT CANNOT BE USED AS A BRAND, S2 WRITERS???? what was your thought process???

jo - every single girl i've met that is like jo was named angela. girls that will be like "i'll tell you one thing: i don't play games and i don't engage in drama" and baby, that's all they're doing, they're playing games and portraying an angel. fucking angela.

r!hannah - her name is still daisy but she corrects people, wanting to be addressed as "daze", because she's a bad girl now and fucking unbearable.

His Royal Highness, President, the Earthshot Prize, this afternoon received Prince Rahim Aga Khan (Chairman, Aga Khan Development Network’s Environment and Climate Committee) at Windsor Castle.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, was represented by Mrs Rebecca Priestley (Extra Equerry to His Royal Highness) at the Memorial for Mr Alan Rind (Trustee, the Rind Foundation) which was held at Bushey Old Cemetery, Little Bushey Lane, Bushey, Hertfordshire, this morning.

This is a story that begins before a Golden Age - in the time when The White Witch still ruled in Narnia and Archenland stood free but nervous on the other side of the border. It was then, in amongst the human exiles of Narnia that there was discontent. It was there, perhaps that the evil began.

It flowers, bleakly when a Golden Age begins and a winter is defeated - there are exiles looking for profit and an ambitious Tisroc who married the last beloved scion of the old line of Tisrocs who had ruled with justice, wisdom and peace for many thousands of years. They decided upon slavery - that they would find great profit in supplying many from the North and from Calormen itself. And the Tisroc put aside his wife for treason and disinherited the son she had given him, but he could not execute her for she was still so well beloved and nor could he kill his son.

Prince Rahim is the name of this son. Hadassah is the name of his mother, the beloved

Prince Rahim Narrating: I just saw the tabloids. Apparently someone saw Princess Anuhea and I on the balcony at KalawaiaPalace. Taryn texts me mad but I don't understand why. I have asked her to be my girlfriend twice. Even watched her go on dates with other guys. Listen to her cry over other guys. One moment she wants me and next minute she doesn't. I gave up on the idea of us. Took a year for me to heal. She barely noticed I stepped back from her. But the moment she sees me with another girl. She blowing up my phone mad. Henry Martyn: Helping Muslims Find Jesus

Day by day, young Islamic scholar Muhammad Rahim visited Henry Martyn to hear how he answered the questions and arguments of Persia's greatest theologians.

His attitude, like those of his colleagues, was to heap scorn on this teacher of a “despised sect.” But the patience, wisdom, and love of the young Englishman, little by little, softened his heart.

Martyn was a gifted scholar in his own right. Within five years he had already translated the New Testament into Persian, Hindi and Arabic. He had recently come to Persia in 1810 both to check his translation with local Muslim experts and to give a witness to his Lord.

During their question-answer times, Martyn’s opponents were hostile and even violent in their rhetoric. One of the royal princes put his hand to the hilt of his sword and growled that taking off his head was the only proper reply to such heresy.

Yet Martyn’s responses surprised Rahim and the others. He remained serene and unmoved among his attackers. “If Christ has work for me to do, I cannot die,” he said simply. Martyn never shirked encounters where he might be called upon to confess his faith.

The Englishman’s demeanor and wise answers caused quite a stir in Shiraz. As a result, the leading Muslim authorities decided to silence him once and for all by writing a peerless defense of Islam. Mirza Ibrahim, the “preceptor of all the mullahs,” who edited the presentation, chose to employ courteous subtlety, rather than opposing him with acrimony.

Martyn confronted the champion of Persian theology like a brave knight of Christ. He winsomely replied in a tract in which he showed an astonishing mastery of the entire controversy. The brilliant and compelling interchange was later preserved in English and published by the Cambridge Professor of Arabic, after Martyn’s death.

Rahim, after weighing the countless interchanges between Martyn and the Persian theologians, came to the personal conviction that the Christian faith was the correct one. Because of shame and fear, he stayed away from the sessions for months. But upon hearing Martyn was about to leave, Rahim came at last to make his confession of faith in Jesus as the Son of God.

With profound joy, Martyn placed a copy of the newly completed Persian New Testament into Rahim’s hands. From that day, that book became the the Persian scholar’s lifelong companion.

Years later, Muhammad Rahim shared his conversion with a Christian traveler, and showed him the book that was his greatest treasure. On one of the blank pages was written, “There is joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth – Henry Martyn." Martyn’s Suggestions for fruitful Muslim Evangelism:

Henry Martyn has been considered the first evangelical missionary among the Muslims. His life deeply impacted his contemporaries, both Christians and Muslims. Two years before he died, he wrote the following seven principles for work among Muslims:

Share your testimony as to how you experienced forgiveness of sins and peace with God through Jesus Christ.

Appreciate the best in your Muslim friends and attribute these qualities to God working in their lives. The same goes for those elements of the Muslim culture that are genuinely approved by God.

Keep your message centered in Christ while you speak about the grace of God and how this is transmitted through Christ and applied by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

Invite your Muslim friends to study the Bible so that they can discover the truth for themselves.

Pray for your Muslim friends and help them during this critical time of investigation and decision making.

Create a favorable environment in society through good works that minister to human need.

Trust that Holy Spirit will work in your Muslim friends while they seek their place as Christian in their Muslim context.

The crowned prince of Thulmisa (Neksdor); Dakarai "The Merciful"/Al-Rahim comes off as a rather...cold individual. Harsh and direct with his words, his people skills are as lacking as his free time; he finds no time with frivolous matters such as "breaks" or, Gods forbid, visiting the neighboring kingdom. To him, maintaining the country's stability and its survival is of top priority- and his ONLY priority.

That is not to say that the concept of 'love' is unfamiliar to him; he loves his people, he loves his kingdom, and, most of all, he loves his mother - the late queen of Thulmisa -. He wasn't given that title of "The Merciful" out of thin-air, after all. He's just...sort of...pretty much a stuck-up dick tbh.

It was a mystery how Echidna gave birth to him; she was not married, nor was she spotted to have had relationships beyond platonic affection- yet, lo and behold, she comes out of her palace with a small baby in her hands. Theories ran rampant throughout the streets of Thulmisa ever since the day of the little prince's "birth", but nothing was ever confirmed.

Dakarai was a shy child back in his youth; he was almost never seen without hiding behind his mom, especially when around new people. Those who have gained his trust back in the day, however, claimed he was a bright kid with extensive knowledge of the human body- a trait that would carry on to his adult years as his profession leaned more into that of medical territories.

A fire burned inside him; a fire that, day by day, grew dimmer. From his encounter with the nobles of Greenhorne and him meeting with their soon-to-be Besmirched son, to that fateful day in the neighboring realm. Incident after incident etched themselves unto Dakarai's mind even when he was chosen to take up his mother's mantle so suddenly at the age of 7.

The weight of an entire kingdom was heavy on his shoulders; even at a young age, he wasn't even able to cry over what had befallen the late queen. All Dakarai was able to do was focus; do his best to look past his own noblemen's attempts at manipulating the youth for their own gain.

His own reign throughout the years was...bumpy, completely unlike that of Echidna's, so it wasn't uncommon for comparisons between the monarchs to be made. Thus, a mission was set in stone in his mind; not only was he supposed to keep his people alive, but he must also preserve her legacy. Even when the world turned dark and people fell into corruption, he didn't let go of his promise to his kingdom, and to her...
