When Prince William was named the world’s sexiest bald man and Blake Shelton was named the Sexiest Man Alive, there were plenty of people saying that there were much more attractive men who deserved the awards. However, if a man said that a woman wasn’t attractive enough to be praised for her beauty, he would get shamed for having unrealistic beauty standards. I’ve even seen people say that men shouldn’t be allowed to have opinions on women’s bodies. Y’all only care about body shaming when it’s done to women and it shows.

Fun boring fact: the World’s Sexiest Bald Man thing was originally a paid article in the sun, paid for by a hairloss brand. The idea being that it would obviously cause outrage and discussion and for men to be like ‘if *prince william* is the world’s sexiest man, what does that mean for me?’, make them feel bad about themselves and then buy the hairloss product. For some reason The Independant picked it up as an actual news article. I’m not sure if you can share links in asks but @DanBarker on Twitter did the digging. Weird viral phenomenon built on the classic ‘make people feel ugly so they buy or product’ model.
