The Princess of Wales visited The Baby Bank in Windsor where she heard about the incredible work the organization does to support parents who are struggling from Windsor and other surrounding areas.

Catherine joined in sorting donations and packing referrals as she heard first-hand how the organisation works with local partners, health visitors and midwives to maximise the charity's input in the local community.

The Baby Bank was founded in 2015 by two mothers from Windsor and strives to provide essential items to families facing financial hardship including new-born starter kits, school uniforms, nappies, buggies and beds with help from donations are provided by the general public, retailers and local suppliers.

December!! Christmas times!! The holidays!! Wahoo!!

There's of course always a lot of excitement in the air during December, even if its...largely manufactured by big companies. Yet ever since 2016, I've had far more of a personal attachment to the month - the end of SiIvaGunner Season 1, and the beginning of Season 2, was some of the most engrossed I've ever been engrossed with a piece of media - and it was all punctuated with the Patched Plains Fusion Collab.

It may be hard to truly convey to newer SiIva viewers just how suspenseful and strange the month of October was during 2016. For all intents and purposes, the channel appeared to have truly ENDED with Epic Flintstones, and everything that led up to its release just further cemented that. We'd gotten behind-the-scenes reveals of unresolved content, some of the channel's biggest projects and collaborations up to that point, a huge amount of new albums within such a short amount of time...there was very little to suggest that SiIva wouldn't actually be ending. Yet viewers paying attention would be able to connect the dots, these small little hints dropped during the finale, all connected to "Wood Man" - and mind you, this was before he was even established as a character on the channel!

Just a few days after the official ending, as SiIva had gone to sleep and the channel had been avoiding uploads for so long - uploads suddenly returned, as this "Wood Man" character became the new host at the start of November. This wasn't the first time a story event had been happening on SiIva, yet it was one that left us as viewers confused and in the dark of what was truly happening, due to the lack of a proper narrator. After just two weeks and an album release, halfway through the month, uploads suddenly ceased and the channel went dark. So...was the channel actually dead? Was this just a little bonus Halloween thing, to let the team play around with Wood Man as a character in an epilogue to the actual channel?

Turns out, it was all build-up to December - to the Christmas Comeback Crisis. The channel ending, the virus in his computer, the Voice Inside Your Head, Wood Man - it was all revealed to be part of this all new ongoing storyline, presented to us in full-on episodes during the month of December. Like a light switch turned on, the confusion and uncertainty of November turned into full-on celebration of SiIva's seemingly-now-confirmed return to regular uploading. This was the start of Season 2 - and it was, in my eyes, an absolutely perfect premiere.

I really want to go more in-depth on this someday, but I'll circle back to Patched Plains Fusion Collab to round the story out - because really, it was this rip that really cemented Season 2 as having officially begun, halfway through December 2016. It had been a month since Wood Man's sudden leave from the channel, and out of nowhere we're given an animated prologue to this all-new Christmas-themed storyline, directly based on Kirby: Planet Robobot from earlier that year. And after that sudden gut punch, we're treated to an absolute feast for the ears - a red-carpet introduction to the sort of quality we were about to experience. Kirby: Planet Robobot already had a heavy presence on SiIva due to The Reboot, and so starting this big new story event off with another rip from that same game felt like a sort of reassurance - this wasn't a bit, or a side story, or anything of the sort, but the full next step of the SiIvaGunner channel.

As a rip, it's frankly excellent - it has all the quality of the average Fusion Collab on the channel condensed down to just two minutes, covering everything from different genres of music, different games, different time signatures, and everything inbetween - a remix collaboration in the purest sense of the word, and an absolute treat to listen to. A big benefit to fusion collabs of this nature is that you're able to very clearly identify who is responsible for what parts of the rip - Princess Sylvyspirit's involvement is immediately noticeable as soon as the Touhou segment begins, Chaze's affection for MOTHER 3 is expressed through his part in the collaboration, and so on!

Despite the song only having a brief segment on Christmas near the beginning, the spirit is absolutely there throughout all of Patched Plains Fusion Collab - its a celebration of what was to come, a joyous theme that let all of its collaborators truly show their stuff at the start of this new age for the channel. And its a rip that I often come back to just for that sheer nostalgia alone.

A HC list but it’s just Johnny

- He is pretty stoic, brutally honest, hardworking, focused on his craft, pretty much what everyone else thinks probably

- Chronic night-owl. He doesn’t seem to sleep a lot and is almost always working late. He takes nightly strolls through the forest sometimes

- However when he does sleep he gets sleep paralysis almost every night but it’s happened so much he doesn’t care anymore

- He knows some woodcarving and does it whenever he’s bored or has time. Most of them he throws away what he makes but he keeps a few for himself or friends

- Former boy scout and still remembers almost all of his skills. He keeps his boy scout sash in a glass display case along with some awards he’s earned as a lumberjack

- Like almost everyone who’s lived in Maple Mountains he’s heard all of the urban legends surrounding the place from friends and scout leaders and other scouts yet he’s never believed in almost any of them

- He knows that there are dangerous things in Maple Mountains though, especially at night so he always carries around things like a compass, a strong flashlight, a first aid kit, a pocket knife, water, and a fire starter kit (keep in mind this is only for when he’s walking through the forest some time at night, he doesn’t do this everywhere)

- If Johnny made a New Year’s resolution to not call people idiots over the smallest things he would’ve already failed

- Used to study engineering which is how he was able to qualify as the key grip for Mocharia

- Isn’t much of a book person, unless they’re instructional books otherwise he has no interest in them

- Isn’t much of a tv person either, but when he does watch tv he watches the news and nature documentaries mainly

- Knows how to whistle songs and will only do if he’s alone

- Woodland animals really like him for reason. Like sometimes he whistles and they’ll be a small crowd of squirrels, raccoons, bunnies, deer, birds, and other types of animals. He’s like a Disney Princess

- No one remembers the last time he’s raised his voice, not even him. His loudest is just a normal talking volume

- Though he doesn’t talk a lot and seems pretty “eh” about everything he’s good friends with some of the folks in Maple Mountains. He accompanies Hank occasionally when he’s lonely on night shifts, and he’s good friends with Ember and is like a mentor figure to Yippie

- The only person he really had a “complicated” relationship with (besides his parents) is Wendy, because they hated each as kids, had a rivalry as teens and college students, and now they’re best friends

hello and thank you! I certainly have well-defined tastes at the very least. I have fun and that's what matters

as far as recommendations go...oh lord anon, I read...a lot, and watch somewhat less but have still watched a lot of things, and mostly the things I do fandom for are a smaller subset of the things I like. so I almost don't know where to start with this? I guess right off the bat I'm presently rewatching The X-Files which I'm very much enjoying, and if you haven't Kinnporsched yet you might give it a try. outside of that...I wrote a recs list a long time ago that was basically "my personal 'essential fantasy/scifi' list" and favorite books/favorite books of the decade posts. if you haven't read The Silmarillion I'll throw The Silmarillion on here too even though it has next to nothing in common with the other things on the list you gave. I recently finished reading the Green Bone Saga by Jane Fonda and definitely recommend that. if you hang around this blog on a regular basis I've started doing monthly reading recaps going over everything I read in the prior month and a snapshot of my thoughts on it, so there might be some recs in there for you, too.

if you enjoyed MXTX's works I will recommend trying out some other danmei, of which there are...very many. I'm a big fan of 2HA or Husky and his White Cat Shizun, which is...being published officially, though slowly, and unfortunately never had a complete alternate (human) translation online. I'm really enjoying QJJ which is basically a historical epic of war and political intrigue in the classical style that happens to have gay main characters.

I'm reading LHJC and have been enjoying it but the translation has gone quiet for a while and is incomplete. :(

this is all fiction and also reading material...I read a lot of nonfiction as well. I do watch things once in a while but really I'm very bad at it. several things on my list that I'm sure I'll enjoy when I eventually get to them but just. haven't yet. of course right now I am forgetting everything I have ever watched in my entire life. Princess Mononoke and The Last Unicorn are foundational movies that shaped my personality. Le Chevalier d'Eon is the weirdest anime nobody else I know has ever seen. I've really enjoyed what I've seen of Kingdom and My Country: The New Age but haven't yet finished either.

Dane was a bully, there wasn't a way to dance around that simple universal fact. There was always an untapped amount of rage bubbling under the surface with the wizard. He liked to provoke and bait- he seemed to thrive on the reactions he got when he did from some of the other students. Honestly, it was something of a wonder he was placed in Cross, let alone had managed to stay a student as long as he'd been. Dane shoved a passing student into a nearby stone wall as he turned the corner down the hallway with a little chuckle on his face.

He takes two steps at a time as he moves up towards a portrait on the third and out into the dormitories made of tree houses, his feet echoing on the wooden floor as he heads towards that more common roomish tree house. His eyes fell upon Kit with a little smirk dancing along his lips. Kit was one of those people that Dane had no idea how people didn't see and lose their breath about- the way the other eyebrows furrowed together at a particularly hard part of a book or the way he idly played some hair as he talked about the latest plant in the greenhouse. There were some very, very attractive people at this school but Kit could make the moment between heartbeats feel like an eternity.

Dane was just going to round the seat Kit was sitting on and drop his hips back against the nearest table. "Hey, Princess. Have you discovered a new favorite sort of tea yet?" The pet name rolled off his lips dripping in affectionate and a hint of sexual innuendo, as he smirked down over at the long-haired beauty in front of him.

it had been a tale as old as time - the poor former princess nothing but a damsel in distress, being dumped time and time again by men that claimed that she was 'too much' for them when in reality, they simply were too much of a wimp to live up to her standards, or at least that's what she deluded herself into believing. it was her monthly mission of vandalizing the houses of her ex boyfriends, reminding them on what a great thing they missed out on by leaving her. as her limo pulled up, her driver hastily made his way out of the driver's seat and opened the door for her, clumsily stumbling out on her six inch heels as she tried to balance the array of posters and her little art kit that looked like a tool box in her hand. dropping it all on the front lawn, she scrunched her nose as she looked at the house, letting out an angry huff as she immediately went to work - taping up the posters against his windows that said 'andrea sucks' and 'andrea has a little dick.' then, grabbing rolls of toilet paper she threw them up in the air over and over again so they got caught in the trees like a string of lights. and finally, she ended it by grabbing a red marker, writing 'fuck you, loser' all over his car in red marker. "clyde! give me the bottle of champagne, now!" she yelled at her driver, who scurried into the limo, grabing the bottle of dom for her. snatching it from the man, she skipped back over to his car, hopping onto the hod as she popped open the cork, spraying the excess right towards his front door as she saw him walking out of the house.

he stepped forward, drawing her attention with a little wave of his hand. “pardon me, please forgive me for the intrusion, but ... might you be anna, of arendelle?” he smiled, eyes twinkling with recognition. he figured that she wasn’t meant to be outed as royalty here too. “i’m not sure if you’ll remember, we’ve met once before ... but also further back in time. you were smaller, practically an ankle-biter,” he teased. “my name is kit, from ulstead.”

It had been a stupid accident - a drunk customer had knocked off a bottle of wine from the table he was seated at, and it had broken into several tiny pieces upon impact on the floor. It had been around closing hours, just a moment after Ladybug stopped to say hello - and he didn’t even pause to consider not helping, immediately kneeling on the floor to try and pick up the bigger chunks of glass before it cut any of the girls.

As expected, he ended up hurting himself in the process.

Melissa had taken over with a broom to sweep the remains of the wine bottle away, and one of the girls brought a vacuum cleaner shortly afterwards to ensure they would leave no trace of anything on the floor that could end up wounding anyone later. As the women from the club started to change and go home, the brunette took the opposite route - she had Ladybug sit in one of the chairs in her small office, bringing a first aid kit over next.

The woman did not even ask if she was allowed to patch him up - she just did it, almost like a second nature. In all honesty, Melissa was used to doing it by then; the blond man tended to be some sort of protector to her and take the bulk of the bad things that sometimes happened around the brunette. Ladybug had already saved her from a motorbike accident, pushed her off the way of a flower vase that fell from a window, avoided a couple of incidents with rusty nails and other sharp materials whenever they took shortcuts through derelict buildings and passageways - he was like a guardian angel of sorts.

Too bad he ended up hurting himself in the process - reason why Melissa had started carrying around band-aids and other emergency supplies just in case something happened. But on that night, the odds had actually been quite good: the club was well-equipped to deal minor injuries from the work place, and the cut on his left hand was really no big deal - it was mostly to prevent any infections and ensuring he would recover in no time.

“You are better than I am,” he commented with a grin as he watched Melissa wrap the gauze around his fingers, the ex-hostess being as delicate as she could but not forgetting to add some pressure; she chuckled at his observation, and paused to make a ridiculously cute knot when she was done, very cartoon-like. As a finishing touch, the brunette placed a soft kiss over her work, and then raised her head to look at her impromptu patient.

“I better be - I have two good hands, you’d have only one if you’re cleaning this up yourself. It helps when you don’t squirm like a kid, Chris,” she retorted, using the name given to him for that week with a grin of her own. The first time she had helped Ladybug with anything, the woman had actually sat on his lap and ordered him to entertain himself with anything in his line of sight - she needed him quiet and motionless and he was not helping.

As Melissa correctly predicted, an unobstructed view of her neckline did wonders.

He offered a toothy smile to the former hostess, the sort that could change the mood of an entire room; it made her breathing catch in the throat for a second, but the club owner nevertheless got up, putting the supplies of the first aid kit back into their box - her gestures made Ladybug frown, and he sounded like he was on the verge of pouting as he spoke up next, “Wait - I don’t get a reward for being a good patient?” 

“Hmmm. I think we have some leftover candy from Halloween, I could get a lollipop for you? It would be a fitting one,” Melissa offered with a smirk herself, busy with returning the small kit to the drawer where she kept it in her office. Ladybug laughed at her commentary - a genuine and amused sound that was so pure that it had his companion snickering in return. The idea of a grown-ass man like him sucking on a lollipop was just too good.

She had half a mind of doing it - actually going to the bar and hunting for the candy, but instead... Melissa returned to his chair and gently pushed him down; the American had been about to stand up to leave since he had assumed them to be done, but his friend clearly had different plans. His impossible blue eyes searched her face - and soon enough the look of confusion gave way to something more eager.

He knew her enough - once one learned to interpret the different types of smile that the ex-hostess had, it was not impossible to predict her moves. That one, right then, meant she had very specific ideas about what she wanted of him - or better yet, to do with him. The fact that she kneeled on the ground next and found a comfortable spot between his legs made everything pretty obvious, as well as the way her hands started to work on his jeans.

“You know what - the lollipop gave me an idea. You have been a good patient, that’s true; you also were very courageous picking up the broken bottle to spare my girls. You deserve a double reward,” Melissa sentenced, linking liquid honey irises with summer sky ones, “Konishi is still out there, though,” she winked next, absolutely uncaring for that fact despite her words, “Try not to be too loud for his sake, hm?”
