Technology can be a double-edged sword. For those seeking abortion information or care, it can be a way to connect to vital resources like abortion funds, abortion providers or supportive friends. On the other hand, things like our phones and laptops can store a ton of information about us and what we’ve been doing with them.
As more and more states criminalize abortion, the amount of surveillance, and the negative consequences of that surveillance, are going to increase. That’s just a sad fact. With that in mind, we’ve put together some basics on how to protect your privacy during each step of the process of seeking abortion help. We made this with reproductive care in mind, but many of the steps here also apply to situations like abusive relationships and the increased criminalization of trans people, families and healthcare.

some more tried and tested firefox addons that i swear on
worldwide radio - listen to live radio stations around the world. perfect for better workflow, learning languages, and discovering new music. my all-time favourite <3
youtube audio - saves bandwidth and battery life by scrapping the video part of music videos, easy to turn off and on
facebook container - deactivates facebook trackers which are goddamn everywhere these days
and some new additions i'm trying out on top of these:
dark reader - activates dark themes while surfing, very eye-soothing
adblocker for youtube - good for everyone's health probably
sponsorblock - blocks sponsored content in youtube videos, community-based
netflix category browser - makes looking for specific categories and sub-categories a little easier as far as i can tell so far
the big advantage of firefox add-ons is that they're easy to turn off, whitelist, pause, and deinstall. also i generally recommend using duckduckgo at least from time to time to give google less data to work with!

Homelander's penthouse: the obsessive analysis nobody asked for, part 2
Continued from part 1. I would have preferred to have all of this in one post, but tumblr limited me to 30 images, so that was that.
In the last post, we got through the first 20 individually labelled items in Homelander's place and placed some of them into a bigger picture. I have a couple more items I want to cover before offering a map of the place:
21. The table where Homelander has the lovely seafood lunch with Deep (#justicefortimothy) - his ugly couch was moved out or aside temporarily to make it fit
Tumblr media
22. The Sisyphos ATLAS statue 🎉🎉🎉 (thank you @deliciouskeys!), my beloved! The fact that Homelander has this in his place fills me with joy, and I don't even know why, but it 100% fits with how he sees himself I guess, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulder.
Tumblr media
23. The flower bouquets - maybe his birthday flowers? Or maybe just decoration he had people put up for the meal with Deep to make things a little more fucked up, who knows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
24. The torso on the wall, aka "OMG this thing!!!"
Tumblr media
25. The eagle thingy (thingies, there's more than one)
Tumblr media
26. Ugly brown chair (miniature version of his ugly brown couch)
Tumblr media
27. The world globe, see here for example:
Tumblr media
There's a bunch more stuff (additional statues in the entrance area; paintings, etc.) that I'm not going to label because 1. I'm lazy and 2. @deliciouskeys already made a pretty exhaustive list of the paintings.
Let's look at some of this stuff in context again. Here's the view with the couch:
Tumblr media
And here's the main space of his penthouse with the couch removed for the seafood lunch:
Tumblr media
Before I move on to the last part and make an actual sketch of the layout of his place (please forgive me in advance for my amateurism lol), I want to submit one more piece of evidence that Homelander indeed has an open plane, zero privacy bed "room":
Tumblr media
Okay, now we get to the fun part where I reconstruct the whole layout -- but not to scale because I am incompetent when it comes to these things and will not be able to fix that on this fine Saturday afternoon:
Tumblr media
15 and 19 are a different color because they are temporary (while Stormfront was there). 21 and 23 are also a different color because they were moved in for the lunch with Deep. Everything else is more or less permanent even if it gets moved around occasionally.
And that's it. That's the post.

one of my favorite things in fantasy and sci fi is when the setting of the work is in some ways absolutely better than our current setup which makes you go "god i wish i lived in this world" but as the story progresses you realize that the setting is also shittier than our current world in another, highly specific way that then makes you have to go "well maybe i can deal with this if it means not having to work to survive" or something similar

As a parent whose child is my whole world, I do NOT support so-called "parents' rights." I support CHILDREN'S rights. Children deserve physical, emotional and psychological safety, they deserve respect, they deserve privacy and they deserve autonomy. If you can't parent without giving your child these things, you need to learn how.

i’ve been having sm irrelvant opinions lately sorry but i don’t think of myself as physically disabled or chronically ill even tho i haev chronic bronchitis, but when my sibling’s friend said it’s easier for ppl w physical disabilities 2 have their needs accommodated by schools (compared to like, ppl w ‘high functioning’ anxiety such as herself) it’s like...okay basically every school ik has dropped the mask mandate even tho if i even get a ‘mild’ case of covid i would 90% have to go to the hospital. like...i get winded after one flight of stairs but there r literally buildings on campus with like eight floors without a single elevator. i couldn’t schedule an appt to get an inhaler refill prescription for nearly a whole semester even tho i rly need one. & by comparison it took me no more than two months 2 get extended time for tests like...do u rly think institutions care abt physically disabled ppl’s lives...or do u just not see how inaccessible the world is for physically idsabled ppl bcz the world is, in some ways, more accessible for u + u are not forcibly isolated by like, literally the infrastructure...

I haven't started extensive research on Google bc I know if I do I'll get stuck for a while but after seeing the protesters get fired and the CEO's little message I'm just so done with everything they're involved with. I have years of writing and files in my drives so I downloaded all of it and deleted it permanently. Figured out how to make firefox automatically open alternate web searches, so I can use Presearch for everything which seems decent so far. Google also allows you to download the personal data they have saved and request to delete so I did and hopefully it's 'actually' deleted. They have 22 GB worth of stuff on me somehow so I'm gonna go through it to see why

Save Acocks Green Library
Libraries are great for many reasons, and the importance of Acocks Green Library extends far beyond just being a repository of books. The Library was built in 1932, so it’s nearly 100 years old. Acocks Green Library was built in modernised Georgian style, in sandstone bricks and Grinshill stone. The City’s Coat of Arms is over the main door. The internal joinery is of oak, including substantial…

This is probably the most comprehensive and accessible guide that I have found regarding cybersecurity. Even if you are not a victim of DV or stalking (more links below covering this), these are still really great reads to educate yourself on what information you are sharing online. Just as you deserve privacy in your day-to-day life, you also deserve privacy in digital spaces.
Additionally, here are some other great resources about cybersecurity and (more specifically) keeping yourself safe against cyberstalking. (Please only view these links if you are on a safe computer.)
