Crisis about the mac tarot aside, I drew Macaque and Bai He in dealing with snow because it snowed recently where I am. And since I hate the cold, two of my favorite characters must also hate it :)

It's pretty quick but I like it. Drawing the bodies were a little difficult, Bai He especially. I think it turned out okay though.

I haven't!! so, yeah I can, thanks for asking :) I think this is something really interesting to talk about

so, this wouldn't happen for a few years after they meet, idk how many exactly. the whole au is about them being ghosts and meeting penny, and not remembering her as jane.. so it would be a little later when they finally figure this out. for the choir a lot of their memories of what happened in rtc is pretty much gone from their minds, like a dream that they can't remember.

so, it's really up to penny to remember what happened bcs it's pretty much just gone for the choir at this point. I don't really have like a super clear idea of what I would want to happen for penny to remember this (so please if anybody has ideas I would love to hear them all) but I assume she would be in like college or have some sort of job living on her own.

at this point the choir still hasn't figured out their unfinished business (to ocean's frustration lmao) so I'm assuming like something really emotional would happen to penny and then she would figure it out in a dream, whether that's via karnak, or just a random dream that literally just reminds her of all the memories she has during her time as jane doe. meaning, the loneliness she when she couldn't remember who she was, to how much she wanted to be friends with the choir & how much they were scared of her. and she wakes up crying, and the choir comforts her.

penny tells them about what happened & everything that happened in her dream. the choirs' faces slowly light up in realization— and suddenly they remember. everything. well, okay, not everything, some things are still a little blurry.. but jane? they remember her crystal clear. they all feel really stupid for not realizing, especially ricky & ocean. ricky knew jane, knew her for who she was. he felt her pain. while ocean, loved penny. eventually they realize their feelings for eachother, but it doesn't work out for.. obvious reasons.

i kinda think part of why people treat donnie as less caring than he is is like. sometimes not knowing when he's joking? like that time he threatens to be "semi-lethal" when splinter's in the truck with meat sweats. like i'm sure most of you knew he was joking but like. do some of you realise he like, would not have done that? like remember how he was sad? when splinter actually got hurt? same with leo in the movie? and all of them at every other time?

like he's self proclaimed funniest. and also a mad scientist aesthetic doesn't make a character a villain by itself it's what you actually do with that (yes he has done bad things within that area (haunted stare towards mind meld) but you have to admit he like. did fix those. and feel bad and hopefully learn his lesson but hey that's another analysis)

i have mixed feelings on villain donnie stuff, as an example, because like. ANY character put in a situation where they lose their way is really fun and if in character is really interesting as to what could cause that.

but when it's treated as like. inevitable. who he is, or phrasing his brothers are the only thing stopping him being evil. it's like hm. ugh. kind of hurts a bit actually but that's probably because i relate to him ghfdjk

like the seen in snow day with the tech bo chainsaw like. all he really DOES is cut a snowman there but he's just like. leaning into being "evil" with the chainsaw but like he's just being silly with it. acting like that's proof of anything is wild to me, without any other data points.

also kind of separate but i think there's a dissonance between what is like. seen as evil? between me and like most people lol. like the scene in the movie as well with like "finally, man and machine, entwixt in perfect bionic synergy" someone i watched it with was like "haha evil moment" or whatever where i was just like. yeah real that would be rad as hell. honestly gender also.

not saying he's never done anything wrong but i am saying he immediately tries to fix all of those things

anyway he does have a really interesting relationship with morals in my eyes but like, at his core he really cares about people, you know?

#I’m fine #idk it’s weird but I love the texture for some reason. It’s slimy with a lot of variations in consistency like wet seeds and pulp #I eat foods more for the texture than the taste but in the sense that I like more textures than the average person #I will eat anything once just to try it; and I will probably like it enough to eat it again (within reason… nothing unsafe) #I have to restrain myself in the presence of corn starch packing peanuts #because every fiber of my being is telling me to eat the whole bag like they’re cheese puffs (for the texture) #And packing peanuts aren’t cheap! #As a kid I’ve eaten brown paper napkins in the movie theater when my popcorn ran out because I wanted something to chew on #And I like to chew muffin wrappers like they’re gum to suck the flavor out of them #I also like dry oatmeal… powdery and hard with a bit of a “thud” when you bite into it #OH! I absolutely LOVE the mid-air transfer scene from this movie from like a technical/cinematography point of view. It’s an exactly two-minute long action sequence done in a single camera shot. The camera follows the characters, swings around the characters while they’re in freefall, it slides with the snack cart down the center aisle and onto the wing of the plane. It really makes the scene feel dynamic and moving, it’s a super fun scene to watch. 

And I think is really something that shows what can be done with computer animation - this is something that would be nearly impossible to film in live-action. You wouldn’t be able to use stunt doubles, since the characters remain easily seen and carry short conversation throughout. You would have to fake the falling, and freefall can be faked using strings and fans and camera tricks, but to have them freefall, land, run around on the plane, and start freefalling again would require smoothly and invisibly switching the actors in and out of wiring harnesses. It would also require none of the actors flubbing their lines or the whole take would be ruined and they’d have to start over again. And the most important part of all of this is the camera! Even if you could do all those things, moving around a film camera to record it with no cuts and no shakiness would be the hardest part of the whole ordeal.

It’s absolutely phenomenal, I wish more animated movies tried things like this.
