I saw BABYMETAL live in concert in Milan last night!
It was SO awesome!!! It was definitely worth the 5 hour travel and organisation around it (& a great excuse to meet up with the bestie @transimailisa again <3) despite the cold and wet weather. Though we were a bit late to the queue (we arrived around 30min before doors opened?) we managed to get pretty good spots to stand, maybe around 10-15m away from the stage. When my view was not blocked by Every Tall Italian Man Ever, you could see the performers really clearly. I really had such a great time. I cannot overstate how good of a time I had.
I got into BM casually somewhere around 2020, obviously couldn't see them in concert because of the pandemic. So of course I immediately jumped from my seat when the EU tour was announced. I've been a jp idol fan for a while now and I've seen quite a few idol concerts, and I've also been to metal concerts now, so I wondered how their concert would be like (lmao) and if people would bring stuff like light blades etc. I saw one guy with a blade but apart from that it was just like any regular concert I've been to. The energy in the crowd was great, despite the language barrier so many people knew the songs and sang along, the call and response portions especially in Monochrome (beloved beloved beloved) were just... saur good. Mwah.
I think the most surprising thing to me (up til now pretty casual fan, have only seen a few live performances of some songs of theirs but never a full concert) was how... goofy they were? I always imagined them being this super serious trio with a hard exterior that never cracked, but my god those girls were having the time of their lives on that stage, it was really infectious. Especially Momo & Moa moved around the sides of the stage a lot, interacting with the audience, and they were laughing and headbanging along. Pris caught this (I was too busy going insane) but we think that somewhere in Megitsune Su fumbled a lyric or something, and the other two immediately bullied her for it and they were all laughing :D I guess that is a tradition that continues with other groups I follow lmao
In general it was such a great concert, great sound and a GREAT setlist with really high energy songs at the start (Gimme Chocolate, PA PA YA) and overall a fun mixture of old and new bangers. The only sad thing was that it was only just over an hour long, I would have loved 2 or 3 more songs and a proper Encore. Despite that, we all went home exhausted and happy from dancing and celebrating, and now that I'm back in my own cozy bed and thinking about the experience I can't wait to do it again!!

Montreux, Switzerland, August 2023
It was around 30 degrees when we arrived at the lake. I sat on the stones, dipped my feet in the cold water and watched the beautiful mountains and the light reflecting on the water. I felt at peace and just wished I could sit there for the rest of the day.

The funniest thing about the IOC owning the Mario and Sonic at the Olympics games is the fact that not only does the legal side of it seem incredibly complicated (Nintendo probably needs a license from Sega to use Sonic characters in game development, the IOC probably needs licenses from both Nintendo and Sega to own games featuring Nintendo and Sega characters, that doesn't even account for the non-character licensing issues on the IOC's side) but also the IOC would've had to approach Nintendo, said "we want a video game that features Mario and Sonic going to the Olympics", Nintendo had to say yes to it after getting the okay from Sega to use Sonic characters in the game, and now we have 7 games that amount to "goofy plumber and co and rival furries and their enemies go to the Olympics and compete for medals and apparently some of these things have a story mode." All for frankly unnecessary promotion for the Olympics because it's already the biggest sporting event on the planet.
The IOC literally essentially commissioned a video game featuring popular video game characters competing in the Olympics to promote the Olympics despite the potential legal nightmare it could be even though they didn't really need to (and Sega and Nintendo didn't need to either because Mario and Sonic are both incredibly popular video game franchises) and it's ridiculously funny to me.

i think solaris has nearly gotten herself 'fired' for a myriad of different reasons- with plenty of her personal offenses being what zor would consider severely insubordinate. but i think the stupidest thing she was almost nearly punished for was getting into a vicious debate with the doctor because they had the gall to assume dark chocolate was better than milk

Kosovo relations either that I think aren’t notable enough to put in his wiki or just what he thinks of certain countries/provinces/autonomies… kek :P.
Also, my first Tumblr post. Jajj 4_4!
VOJVODINA
“She’s okay. I think she’s pretty, but very slow at processing things. She’s basically Mrs.Hungary’s sister, so, she’s not as mean to me as Srbija is. I don’t really pay any attention to her.”
He wants to be better friends with her but they have very different likes. Sometimes when they hang out alone, Voj will ramble on about random stuff. Kosovo sort of just tunes her out. He’s come to the conclusion that nobody else really listens to her (except, maybe Macedonia. But, that must get tiring.)
SRPSKA
“Bastard child. He’s the only reason that Bosnia and Hercegovina don’t recognize me! Srbijas bootlicker. Srbija says I should be more like him (no way!)”
(Plus, he’s like, 10.)
LATVIA
“He’s really nice. I think he was nervous when he first met me, because he used to ramble a lot (which I found a bit annoying). But, now he seems calmer. We don’t hang out much but I like it when we do.”
LITHUANIA/ESTONIA
“I don’t mind them. They seem like nice guys. When Lithuania gets paranoid he reminds me of Albania.”
Kosovo feels a bit self conscious when seeing Lithuania and Estonia. He wonders if he should be doing as much work as them…
LIECHTENSTEIN
“She’s nice too. She’s in Western Europe so my favorite part about spending time at her house is joining her on a picnic… she has very nice scenery. We both like goats.”
SWITZERLAND
“He’s better friends with Albania than me, but I still like him. He doesn’t like me or Albania around his goats. I think he’s a terrible driver.”
SEALAND
“He annoys the hell out of me. Whenever we talk he says he understands how it feels to not be a recognized country. Who does he think he is?!”
GREEK
Kosovo is a bit conflicted on how to feel about Greek. He’s way too friendly with Serbia for his liking… plus, he doesn’t recognize Kosovo! But, his relationship with Albania seems to be clearing up… slowly. For the time being, he just avoids Greek.
MONTENEGRO
“I’m glad he’s nice to me. Back when we used to live in the same house, we wouldn’t really talk much. We still don’t talk a lot, which is why I’m surprised he can find the energy to support me; but, I’m not complaining!”
SLOVENIA
Kosovo appreciates that Slovenia is so kind to him. He gets a bit bugged when Slo acts cocky and says he can help mend the relationship between Kosovo and Serbia, but, he’s glad that he wants to try at least. It’s much more than other countries can say. His relationship with Slo is similar to the one he has with Croatia: they respect eachother but don’t talk much.
MACEDONIA
I don’t think I have any good ideas for their relationship… Macedonia isn’t on the greatest terms with Albania, but she probably used to babysit Kosovo. They both like ajvar and think that Serbia’s sucks. Kek.
Sorry if it’s not too exciting… Lel. Maybe if I make one for Albania then it’ll have more interesting stuff. Sorry, Kosovo lives a boring life outside of… you know. Kek.

So we're two-weeks no-Casualty now, how are people holding up? I'll be honest, I've only really been missing the spoilers up until now, it's a weird thing to miss but it gave me something to be excited about almost every day of the week. I am missing getting a new episode tonight, though. I've just finished my first actual week of university, I'm drained from having to talk to people, I'm ill (I guess it's technically freshers flu but that suggests a level of partying that isn't really achieveable when you're still living at home and also not that into that kind of stuff - uni for me so far has mostly involved reading about medieval whalebone boxes and catching trains), and the only thing that would make me feel better is the horrible nausea of watching my favourite idiot paramedics losing every battle in the relationship trenches.
Having no new episodes also means I don't have any pressure to post about Too Much, Too Young or Switzerland yet, so I still haven't made that post. I think it's just that I wasn't too happy with how TMTY went and then Switzerland was so brilliant that nothing I could say feels worth saying... I'll get to it eventually. I do feel like the episodes were kind of in the wrong order? I think it might be that Driving Force was only 10 episodes long, making Switzerland the special episode, but I feel like it would've felt like it made more sense if Switzerland came first?? Not just because of how I feel about the episodes, I think it would've made more sense pacing-wise for the Jan and Gethin storyline if Hard Pill was followed by Switzerland since it basically happens immediatley after what happened for them in Hard Pill anyway.
I am thinking I might start a proper rewatch now that I've got nothing to do every Saturday night (I am realising as I type this how miserably boring I must be making my life seem, I have fun I swear, fun for me is watching bad movies and overanalysing things). I wanted to rewatch the Welcome to the Warzone chapter up to Once Bitten so that I could have episode reviews for all of WTTW and DF but the secret reason I want to do that is to get an excuse to talk about With a Bullet, which is probably one of my favourite episodes since the start of this chapters thing. Honestly, I might just see if I can get my non-Casualty-fan friend who I have propagandised into also caring about Sah and Teddy to watch that episode with me tonight. So maybe expect me to start posting those episode reviews at some point, or possibly expect me to just start posting episode reviews of seemingly random episodes that I just consider to be my 'favourites' ('favourite' is an interesting term in the Casualty world because there are some episodes where I theoretically hate large parts of what happened but I enjoyed how one storyline was dealt with so much that I just ignore that stuff - like I think On The Edge and Falling are also some of my favourite episodes but I don't know/know I dislike what happens in them beyond the stuff with Sah and Teddy).
