I wanna ask though, how do pokemon professor blogs get asks? Like how do they grow?
OOC: I was lucky to already have a few followers left from before the blog revamp, so probably that helped a bit to gain some asks and start growing. I also follow similar blogs and I try to interact with them if I see it fitting. I turned this blog into a professor blog only recently (before it was a random trainer oc), so probably this question should be directed to someone that is keeping a blog since longer than me? I was following @prof-peach's blog for a while and that blog is so cool that made me want to make a Pokémon-themed blog, but there are lots of other cool pokeblogs out there like: @ranger-rai, @professor-fanalia, @galar-ranger-magnus, @professor-vanad, and many others!
Anyway, probably the best way to make a pokeblog grow is interacting with other blogs, replying to asks if you receive any and try to be interesting in some way :)

Hey everyone!  We got some new Pokemon up for adoption!
Today we’re starting with a heroine!  This female Absol saved a group of kids from a house about to be crushed by a landslide, using her horn to keep an opening open while they escaped.  Though it broke her horn, she is BRAVE and willing to take on any danger you and your team can find.
This Brozong came to us with a large crack in his arm, but with Professor Vanad’s advice, we were able to get it fixed and now he’s using it like it never even happened.  And yes, he may look alittle different from normal Brozong, he a JOLLY Pokemon who will be great for home and travel.
And last, but certainly not least, we have a Fletchling that gotten to wear little snowshoes.  He would have had an updated picture, but after the photographer took this, he pecked her mercilessly.  She won’t go near him now.  BUT!  Besides the point, his feet are okay now!  He got a little infection under his feet scales and that’s what caused the knuckling, but now he’s good to go!  Refusing to return to the wild, this SASSY Fletchling will be a good addition to your team when you want to make the other guy flinch.

bro,,, dude,,,, how do i stop my porygon from messing with my computer. this little goblin keeps worming their way in and removes all my spotify playlists. please this is urgent
When they take up residence in a computer, Porygon are wont to do a little maintenance. Though I think most would be considerate enough to avoid deleting anything on a computer that isn’t theirs, it’s not exactly something that’s programmed in. They might be mistaking your playlists for clutter or malware. Maybe they just aren’t familiar with the app and see the space it’s taking up as a drain on your computer’s performance. In that case, I wouldn’t take it too personally. Talking to Porygon is your best bet to finding out what going on.
That being said, if this is a repeat problem, it is unusual that they wouldn’t just tell you outright. If they are perceiving your playlists as an issue that keeps coming back, most Porygon would at the very least alert you to it. This makes me think that it could be completely accidental on their part – as in they don’t even realise they’re doing it. This is, again, very likely if Porygon isn’t too familiar with Spotify.
There is one thing that strikes me from the phrasing of your question though. If Porygon is “worming their way in” that says to me that you are actively trying to keep them out of your computer. If that is the case and there are no other computers or similar devices in your home, I would not rule out the possibility that Porygon is upset with you. And rightfully so.
This is just in Porygon's nature. Lots of us, human and pokémon alike, need a personal space for comfort and calm and most Porygon use cyberspace for that exact purpose. It is extremely rare for a Porygon to not make frequent trips into cyberspace (my own Porygon is one of those rare cases and even she expresses a desire to.) Moving into cyberspace is simply what Porygon do. It is what they were designed for. While not physically harmful on it’s own, denying them this can will make it more difficult for them to run self-diagnostic scans. It can also be very damaging for their mental health and wellbeing, which could be why Porygon’s actions are reading as passive-aggressive and uncommunicative to you.
In this case, you need to open up communication and work out a compromise with Porygon. Sharing a computer isn’t hard. You can set clear boundaries, lock folders and implement passwords if you need to - though I’ve never known a Porygon to be so intrusive as to need those measures.
If you, for whatever reason, cannot share your computer (I know some people have very strict privacy requirements for their jobs for which a Porygon presence would be illegal or dangerous) you have to provide another device for them. Another computer, smartphone, tablet or laptop would be ideal. This is non-negotiable. Porygon need that cyberspace access. If funds are tight for you, taking them to an internet café for a few hours a day is also an option (just make sure you tell the clerk what you’re doing.) If neither of those are an option, you may need to reconsider whether or not Porygon is the right Pokémon for you.
Also, in the case of the latter issue, accept that you might have a lot of work to do to repair your relationship with Porygon. Open communication, apologies and compassion are going to be very important for both of you going forward. It’s not impossible to salvage, but it may take time.
Best of luck to both of you! And thank you for the question!

Hi there, Bill. Pokemon professor, here. I've been reading up lately on type classification and how different pokemon types have emerged over time. I've always thought that a type classification built around artificial pokemon is in the cards somewhere, so I'd like to know - Is there a pokemon type you think might emerge in the future? If so, why?
You know, an “artificial” type sounds likely, now that you mention it. There are certainly plenty of them around, and they do display certain properties that are unique to them specifically.
Personally, though, I’ve been saying for years that a sound type might be a logical next step. It’s an unusual potential element, but sound-based moves resonate with a certain elemental vibration that just barely matches up with the types they’re currently assigned. Take Hyper Voice and Uproar, for example. In the right hands, they can shatter rock as if it’s nothing, which is not a property you’d expect from normal-type moves. Then there are the plethora of non-damaging sound-based moves, which seem to resonate with more pokémon than you’d expect for a single-type move, never mind the way these moves interact with other moves and special abilities. The way they ignore Substitute despite the properties of that technique, the way there’s an entire ability to resist the energies of these moves despite the destructive nature of the offensive ones ... it’s all rather fascinating, if you think about it.
Of course, we could also see the emergence of a type we’d never even dreamed of before, from a pokémon yet to be discovered. I’ve heard rumors of a nuclear type rising out of the ruins of a destroyed power plant in a faraway region, for example, but of course, this is mostly hearsay—Cold War urban legend, really.

@professor-vanad I don’t know if you can help but about 30 years my mother purchased a first gen Porygon named Snoopy , unfortunately after about five years Snoopy stopped functioning and was presumed by Pokémon center technicians at the time to have died from my understanding a lot of first gen Porygon’s had issues. Now my mother kept snoopy‘s body in a nice box in her closet as it wasn’t going to rot similar to how some people keep the Pokémon‘s ashes. Currently I’ve been housesitting as she’s out of the region. Yesterday I heard a banging coming from the closet. To my shock Snoopy had to woken up. Of course I informed my mother immediately and brought Snoopy to my local Pokémon center as something is clearly wrong he’s visually “glitching” constantly ,their audio very distorted and they don’t appear to be able to digitize .The first thing the Pokémon center tried doing was updating him but they couldn’t even trigger their body into entering the computer. They think their missing over a 100 updates. Is there anything you can do to help?

Hello Professor, welcome to the community. I have recently discovered that my laboratory bins are being raided by Trubbish at night. I'm happy to let them take what they like, less waste is best after all, but I am concerned about the possibility of them getting into the medical waste bins. Do you have any advice? Is there anything I have to be more careful in my disposal of?
Hello, Professor, and thank you!
Well, the easiest solution is maintaining the medical waste bins inside and the rest of the trash outside only, now if the Trubbish are getting inside your lab, you should spray some Repel on the medical waste, not one that is too strong, though.
Or you could take the biohazard waste with you when you leave for the night, ask your local Nurse Joy if you can leave it in the Pokémon Center
Hope I was of help!!

Hello professor! Your research into Golett sounds very interesting. Are you able to share anything yet?
Professor schmofessor I don't even have a PhD. The project where we attempt to replicate Golett intelligence is in its very basic stages; we're focusing on really basic capabilities such as movement control and cognitive abilities. They're particularly fascinating because we just don't know how they work, even though they're man-made so long ago. There's a school of thought that says we should just replicate them by reverse-engineering them part by part, but I personally think that doesn't much tell us anything about how Golett works. Our best guess is that their original creators didn't understand how they worked either, so there's evidence that simply reverse-engineering is not enough to fully understand. I mostly work with the simulation and modeling side of things; our team also includes archaeologists and cognitive scientists.
Tangent 1: Golett don't occur here - there's some evidence of them or perhaps similar Pokémon in burial mounds but those habitats have been too damaged by water for the Pokémon to have survived. It's an interregional project - the three Golett we have at the lab are from a partner university in Galar. I really want one, but I never got the chance to catch one when I last was abroad.
Tangent 2: The closest we have come to building something similar in modern times would be Porygon2, but its behaviour is too shrouded in uninterpetable neural networks (plus a hefty amount of Silph patents and copyright) to qualify as fully understood. The only artificial Pokémon I feel we truly understand is Porygon 1, but it's really 90s tech so I occasionally joke it's basically a glorified furby.

I'm not sure how it fits in with ranger protocol, but if you were interested in having a Corviknight around, try the Taxi Service. Sometimes, they have Rookidee or Corvisquire who have failed the navigation tests one too many times and can't legally be put to work. Some of them may have specialized needs. Others just don't take well to the long shifts of intense flying. Either might fare better in a localised work environment.
Hey now, that’s a great idea! Thanks professor! I’ll head on over to the Motostoke Taxi ranks and have a talk with one of the drivers there. It’s fun, talking to them reminds me a lot of talking to the dock workers my dad used to hang out with back in Pueltown. Fingers crossed they can help. There’s plenty of space nearby for a permanent roost, and being able to monitor situations from the air would be a huge step forward for the station. Some eyes in the sky can make all the difference in an emergency. And hey, if they’re up for it it would make patrols a lot faster flying about the place! Traversing the Wild Area on a bike might be a great workout but boy, my knees are still sore just from riding out here.

Remember when I said there shouldn’t be any more weird rare pokemon sent to the Sanctuary?

Look who arrived while we were in Sinnoh (╥_╥)
Please tell me this isn't another mythical pokemon... and that this isn’t a small version of their species....

Little Update
Hi all!  We’re back again!
Got an update on the Treeko Sisters, first off.  They are doing fine and surprisingly enough, they want to be Support Pokemon to other Pokemon and people that need them.
They are getting specialized training and they seem to enjoy it, both working as hard as they can to learn everything.  Once we get the Support ‘Mon system up here, they’ll be the first on the list.
Now, to our resident Brozong we got a looooong while ago.  Thanks to Professor Vanad’s advice, they made a full recovery and are awaiting for our vet to give them a clean bill of health.
And for now, we have an Espurr that is still abit skittish and will reflexively throw things at the source of their fright.  They’re almost ready for adoption, but until I feel absolutely certain they’re ready, they will stay.  Now, to the meat of the update.
We have a few ‘mon ready for adoption, we’re just getting them ready for their pictures, or in the Fletchling’s case, find a picture we already have on hand that won’t get us pecked to death.  So be on the lookout for that, okay?
And remember, Train Responsibly!

Hello Professor! I'm Sky, a pokemon breeder in the Hoenn region. Thanks for running such a helpful blog!
I'm wondering what are common illnesses/injuries for Castform and their signs? We get occasional Castform at the Sanctuary and I want to provide them any care they might need.
Hey there Professor! Glad you’re enjoying my blog. And thank you for asking about Castform! They are such a fascinating case in artificial Pokémon studies, so I love talking about them.
Castform have a lot in common with aerosols - solid/liquid particles suspended in air - like mist or clouds. They are mostly water and, like water, they change according to the environment they are in, specifically the temperature, which causes them to change forms. Each form has different typing and a handful of its own needs. That said, they’re pretty low maintenance overall so regardless of form, you shouldn’t have too much trouble keeping them happy and healthy.
Castform lose water as they go about their day-to-day and resulting dehydration can cause them all sorts of problems. The Rainy Form in particular, can become ill if the water in their bodies is left to stagnate. In our terms, this will look like fatigue, sluggishness and/or some mild dizziness. Giving them a regular supply of fresh water will solve this easily. Flowing water is ideal but as long as it’s regularly replaced there should be no problems. If you have one of those fountains they make for cat Pokémon, those work really well here. The Rainy Form struggles with this the most so do let them out into the rain if you can (or failing that, letting them sit in a running shower for a few minutes will help)
The other major consideration would be regular outdoor time - a high-up spot where they can observe and enjoy the weather is all they need, really. They can get a little glum if stuck indoors too long.
The major thing you should look out for with a Castform is “fronting” or “drylining”. Fronting is what we call it when, due to weather conditions, a Castform ends up stuck between two forms. This has been known to happen, funnily enough, during weather fronts, where two types of weather meet each other. It has also happened in very humid conditions where Castform can wind up in both Sunny and Rainy form at the same time. This is rarely if ever dangerous, but it can be uncomfortable for the Castform and cause them a bit of panic.
The best thing to do here is to let them find a patch of more stable weather. They can do this well on their own but should be supervised in case they need to go far afield. Once they settle into a single Form they may want to stay out and follow that particular patch for a bit while the rest of the weather smooths out.
On a similar note, the existence of fronting has led some scientists to speculate as to whether or not Castform could have a “Storm Form”. As weather fronts are usually the points where lightning storms start to brew. There’s no evidence out there yet, but it’s certainly interesting to think about.
In any case, I hope you feel better equipped to look after Castform now. They are very gentle and sweet Pokémon so I’m sure you’ll have a great time with any that come your way.
Thanks for the ask.

Lanyard Klefki Variant
@professor-vanad
Tumblr media
I actually managed to run into the owner of the Klefki “Lanyard” when I went out with some friends to a Hoennese Cafe And was allowed to take a picture
The trainer works as a game artist so the Klefki (named Lockstin) just holds onto all kind of USBs that hold project artworks.
If you haven’t noticed it’s actually arms are far shorter than the common form and the owner said it’s arms were just like that when it found it so it was incapable of holding keys. However, the little thing adapted and is entirely capable of manipulating two pieces of ribbons as an extension of its body.
I’ve never owned an artificial/inorganic Pokémon so I’m not quite sure what caused its arms to be short. The owner doesn’t seem to know either, stating he just found it like that
Little notes
Lockstin looked like any common Klefki but over the years, they changed their form to look like a Keyblade since the owner really loved Kingdom Hearts
It enjoys playing jump rope with its own ribbons even though it floats. It’s not really jump roping is it then
Lockstin dislikes having the same coloured ribbon for three days in a row
They’re slightly smaller than the common Klefki
Lockstin has been with the owner for around 6 years now
They were found in an alleyway next to the owner’s apartment building, hovering really close to the ground and holding onto those plastic rings used for bottles. The trainer assumes it was abandoned or ran away seeing as Lockstin attempted to in his works “shank” him
According to the owner, Lockstin enjoys computer parts. The broken irreplaceable ones of course. He gave me a whole list of Lockstin’s favourite parts but the napkin I wrote everything on got washed

To all those who receive this I have a bit of a problem and I’m looking for alternate view points that might help. A few days ago my new world Katubo I caught off the coat of the Hoenn region 12 years ago latched itself onto the tail of local Slowpoke on my properties large pond. Together they evolved into A variation of Slowbro i’ve never encountered before. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be an issue But they seem to hate each other.
Kabuto and I are rather close , slowpoke and I were strangers . On more than one occasion the slowpoke components of slowbro has actively been aggressive towards me (which is fine were strangers it takes time to develop friendships) what concerns me is that occasionally the The slowpoke component has at least attempted to be aggressive to kabuto and vice versa. At the end of the day it seems like fundamentally they want different things . Slowpoke is wild ,kabuto isn’t
Slowpoke doesn’t like spending time with me, kabuto dose
Slowpoke enjoy sunbathing , Kabuto prefers to swim and etc.
originally I considered having them removed from each other surgically by my local professor Prof.Apricot but she admits she doesn’t really have any experience dealing with kabuto and other fossil Pokémon and doesn’t know what would happen if she remove them. Prof. Apricot was also confused by Slowbros behavior generally this species of Pokémon is walks on two legs ,is quite docile and friendly while this variation is clearly aggressive and only walks on all fours. She’s currently trying to find resources that might help but If any professor has information on this variation of Slowbro i’d be thankful for the help

Hello from a fellow Galarian! How are finding Johto so far? Did you do much travelling before now?
Hello there Professor Vanad! It’s good to hear from another Galatian. I’ve been enjoying Johto a lot! Things are so different here, with actual forests and cave systems untouched by humans. It’s a lot different from the Wild Area back home. The gym challenge isn’t too different, just no power spots like our gyms. As for travel, I only ever traveled around Galar for my championship journey. Going to Professor Peach’s island was my first time out of Galar. But leaving home got me interested in seeing wgat the rest of the world was like. So here I am! Smack in the middle of Johto making a lot more friends!

Rummorid ja tõde COVID-19
Autor Dylanali
2019-aasta teisel poolel toimus ootamatu pandeemia, mille põhjustas koroonviirus, mis ründas Maad, nakatades WHO andmete kohaselt 230-miljonit inimest, võttes neli.7 miljonit inimelu.
Kuni viimase ajani juhtis musta võrgu tehing meie tähelepanu sellele, et häkker nimega "AngelTRUMMP" müüs Spywire'i "Pegasuse APP" andmebaasi, mida juhtis Iisraeli teabeagentuur kahe bitboini hinnaga.
Protsess, millega lepingu osapooled on minevikus võidelnud.
uuringud, millest suur osa toimus kõrge isolatsiooni laborites.
