LOST my GODDAMN drawing tablet stylus. IFDeath will probably progress slower than I was hoping over the break but it's fine I'm not even close to the digital illustration phase anyways. So that's pretty frustrating. Uh. Other updates in the comics making pursuit. I have ideas for two. One called Todd's Not Dead which features a main character named Agnes who I just cannot design it seems. And the other's called The Kingfisher Prayerbook with a main character I have very much designed. They're both kind of spinoffs from IFDeath. Or TKFP is. TND is a spin-in I guess? Agnes ends up moving to LA and becomes roommates with James like five years after the events of the comic I'm currently working on. I don't know when I'm going to work on either of them but I do very much want them to happen.

Hi. Just wanted to say that I’ve recently read your digimon fic Intangible and it’s amazing. The way you wrote it was just so painful I love it lol. I wonder how Takeru will be. He’s such a sweetheart, he doesn’t deserve to lose Patamon twice now. But, it is what it is and we’re all here for the angst. It really is nicely written and tugs at the heartstrings. I wonder if you’ll continue it?

Update 9/17

I tested positive for Covid a couple days ago and am feeling existentially exhausted. Honestly, I’ve been sleeping most of the day and trying to focus on staying hydrated. I’m fully vaxxed and boostered, on the plus side, so I’m hoping it runs its course quickly. My dad died due to covid at the end of 2020 so I can definitely say that my anxiety is being unmanageable rn too, lol.

That being said, expect me to maybe be a little scarce on the discord for the next little bit here, at least until I can manage to stay awake for a couple hours at once.

Development on Akello is still moving forward, Patrons have gotten a look at the roughs for his body and outfits.

I’m going to be opening up kinktober requests for the month of october- send and ask with charas and i’ll write a short little fill for them. I had intended on making my own prompts list for people to pick from but that’s kind of up in the air for now. I’ll keep you updated.

Small update this week, sorry guys! Hoping to be back at it all the way soon!

Progress Report 1

I was initially planning on doing something related to chatGPT, but during lab I heard Rich say that it should be something I am passionate about and that made me rethink my topic. Once Rich mentioned the former student that did a project on the history of Java my idea came to my mind. I want to do my project on the history of the modern smartphone (and possibly how the technology in the smartphone affects other industries).

So far we should have an idea of what we want our topic to be. I have a topic.

So far there have not really been any issues.

My progress this week is that we started the quarter, and that I have a topic.

Next week I expect to start doing research on my topic, and potentially narrow or expand my scope.

Weekly Update: Sunday of 3/12/2023

Woof, it feels like it's been forever since I posted an update... Then again, it has been a while for a reason. In other words, I'm gonna try and make these things a weekly basis than a daily one. After all, it doesn't give me much to "update" on, if I'm desperately trying to think of things I could possibly share for the day. Ideally, I'd prefer posting these on Saturdays instead, but as long as it's on the weekend, I guess. After all, waiting any longer than that to update may give the image of a "dead" account, despite the posts of creations.

Anyhow, speaking of "creations," let's get right down into the progress with creative works. I've officially decided on comics, including a re-work of Getting Your Goat. No, it won't be a word-for-word translation from literature into comic book form, it'll be different (and likely better). For starters, I find myself snickering at more slapstick being introduced in the first chapter's script, and it personally feels a bit more "faster paced" as needed.

Plus, I feel like people might find a bit of a charm to my art style that makes it a bit more enjoyable than just looking at words: I feel like my simplistic and cartoonish style may be reminiscent of when we were all young teens/kids starting out with art, and the (admittedly) unprofessional and lackluster appearance of my drawing style may reflect the quality most would produce around those younger ages. Essentially, perhaps a charm through a feeling of nostalgia, if it's not the bright colors, and combination of American and Japanese cartoon/animation character designs (despite lack of actual movement). At the very least, there's the appeal that you can definitely tell I'm not producing AI art, given the flawed quality proves it's of human production.

In regards to other creations, I'm nearing the end of Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes, believe it or not. I mean, dang, that comic ended up going longer than intended, but things work best when they're not too short and not too long. Plus, if I'm planning on making an actual comic series based on C2ndy2C1d's Ed Edd n Eddy "Assassin AU" idea, then it may be best to really practice with one of the major and complex relationships in the series: Claire, and Sarah and Jimmy. Yes, she's appearing in the series. Yes, she's appearing as a wolf-hybrid, but believe me that you'll be getting a sensible reason to it all and she'll remain a sidekick that only gets attention when warranted. I know who you're all really there for.

In other news, I've been enjoying Digimon World: Next Order quite a lot! Another game I wanna get into is Pizza Tower, but I already got a new game in form of the prior mentioned one, so let's wait on that. Anyway, stay safe and in good health, tschüß!

just finished chap 6 and it’s flawed and i know how to fix it but it’s a first draft so i’ll leave it alone otherwise we’ll be here all day.

also i combined the former parts I & II back into just a single part. i don’t know what’s better at this point, but just for drafting purposes, old parts I + II are one story (the study, intro to the world) so i’ll keep them together as monstrum humanum. everything will probably become completely different come the next drafts anyway because if this doesn’t turn out to have severe structural issues, i’ll eat my shoe.

Teenage Andrew and Julia!! They’re so cute. I assumed we’d see them in their teen years, plus I was wondering how Julia and Andrew started dating in the first place.

This could mean something or nothing at all, but Julia’s wearing a choker… guess who else wears one? 👀

Uh oh. Well, we already knew Ashley didn’t like her… at all 💀.

Something to keep in mind: When Ashley was little she hung around Nina and Julia (bottom left picture), but my guess is the only reason they hung out with her is because they wanted to get closer to Andrew. In a previous progress report there’s a screenshot of Andrew asking them if they could invite Ashley to sit with them at lunch sometime.

When you look at the bottom left picture, they’re happy and smiling while Ashley doesn’t look too thrilled. There’s flowers around them, but when it comes to Ashley one bounces off of her head. They hung around her, but clearly left her out. Thinking about the flashback scene of Ashley’s birthday, she brings up how her friends are always busy when she asks them for anything, even when she hasn’t said a date. So yeah, Ashley wasn’t treated very good by them.

Looking at the top left picture of Ashley and Julia labeled as “friends”, we can see there that Ashley doesn’t like her lmao. In the episode 3 preview video, it was pretty obvious Julia was crushing on Andrew, hard. So, even after Nina died, Julia probably still attempted to be “friends” with Ashley to get to Andrew. I could be wrong, but Ashley probably saw through her bullshit and knew what was up. Ooo I just know she was NOT happy. Especially because she already went through something like this with Nina crushing on Andrew.

Yeah, I’m not surprised that she tweaked out when Julia and Andrew started dating.

Oh man. I think it’s safe to assume that the rumors in question are about them having an incesteous relationship. After Julia asks this, Andrew thinks to himself “(why in the ever loving fuck would she ask me this?)”. I asked myself the same thing lmao.

He says he heard about it, then Julia gets all flustered and nervous. I don’t think she asked it out of malicious intent. She also reassures him by saying that she thinks everyone knows that the rumors aren’t true, and that she wanted to let him know that in case he needed to hear it. (Technically they aren’t rumors, but that’s not the point 😂).

Now, let’s get into the most sinister part of the preview 🫣.

Holy shit 🧍🏻��♀️. It’s time for the people who say Ashley is solely the problem to face the truth 🫣. I mean the look he’s giving her…. omg. He asked Julia out because he knew she liked him and could use that to his benefit. It’s a way to stop the rumors, so why not? Poor Julia :/.

I mean the flashback of them in his dream from ch. 2 was enough to prove to me that he never really cared about her, but now it’s right in front of our faces.

Andrew you manipulative mf 💀. I’ve always held the opinion that he’s just as bad, if not worse than Ashley is. We’re absolutely going to see this proven in ch. 3. His mask is going to fully come off.

Triaina: Academy Update (12/29/2023)

Hello everyone. It's been a long time coming hasn't it. But I am very happy to announce the new update for Triaina: Academy, which incorporates a whopping 81k words, even larger than I originally anticipated, to provide ya'll with a series of unique developments for each RO during the Day of Independence Festival.

It was far longer than I had originally anticipated, and took far more time in the development stages than I wanted it to due to my own scheduling complications and lack of effective time, but you are all nontheless justified in your concerns over the lack of progress.

I anticipate upcoming updates to be on a far reduced scale, both to decrease my workload and provide a bit more consistency in my presence.

For those that have been anticipating this update, thank you for your patience. I hope you thoroughly enjoy all of the new content that's been added, and be sure to let me know what you enjoyed most!

hi! i'm gonna do my best! 🌄🌸 i've been a bit slow in starting things cos i've been in a lot of pain, with my spine being messed up again and my migraines. my goal is to have one fic written for takari week (it'll prbly be a surprise fic) and/or one set of headcanons.

i'm glad you're enjoying the hcs! :) i have more coming, i love writing them! i've just been bedridden but i'm toying with the dosage of my pain meds to make it more manageable. but i'm writing a little at a time :) thanks for sending this in!!

progress report 8/13

i am mentally recovering some spoons from that last crunchy push but I’m feeling a lot better now that I’ve caught up on some sleep and had some free time to just kinda chill.  (and play some yakuza kiwami)

I had some desperately neglected “housekeeping” that needed to be seen to and now that Amir’s done looming over me I was finally able to take care of it- mostly my desktop looked like a warhead went off so I cleaned and organized all my files, wips, and docs, plus cleaned up three google drive accounts, and began the long and arduous process of migrating my tcm and oc art archive to onedrive from google keep.

I like to make new wallpapers every quarter for my three displays, its goofy but i like when everything matches so I was able to do that for funsies this week too.

the website!! I haven’t published the changes yet but updating the TCM website has been on my to do list for ages.  I updated the masthead to show a looping mp4 of the logo.

which by the way, I had zirodesign deal with the animations on all three logo variants and they did an awesome job for a great price and saved me a lot of time.  If you need anims done for youtube intros or stuff like that I definitely recommend.

I also updated Amir’s old face to his sexy new one on some outdated graphics and I’m beginning my phase out of the eclairages font.

I also linked the TCM Character Guide because I feel like its a great little tool to check out the roster, especially for new people just jumping on board.

I also updated the itch.io page with new graphics to indicate Amir’s release status to patrons and uploaded his profile card to hopefully entice some people to check him out.

Sometime this week i need to clone and rename the git repository for amir’s chapter so that i can begin scraping content off the base structure to use as Akello’s framework

Though I do have some structural changes I want to make with akello- namely layered displayables/sprites instead of making a million separate images oops.

Another note from Renpy is that while the Renpy 8.0 update no longer supports web builds, I found a reddit thread that walks you through the process manually and noticed there’s a way to turn of progressive loading in browser which is what causes those heavily pixelated images when you first load the game sometime.  When I start implementing patron feedback (probably this week) i’m going to play around with it.

BUT the other good news is that Amir was built in Renpy 7.5 and i’m seeing a LOT more browser play stability and WAY less memory exception errors so fingers crossed but I think browser player may finally have a semi-stable release.

ALL that said, Amir is out to Galleria and Uptown patrons, he’ll be releasing on Monday to Lower East peeps and then Monday the 22nd to the Pitrats crew.

I am still shaking down patrons for feedback so be aware that I do desperately want to hear what you thought about his chapter, it will help me refine not only amir but the rest of the characters and the game as a whole.

Also i’m trying to think of some fun ideas for TCM’s one year anniversary, coming up at the end of next month.  Give me ideas if you’ve got them, but at the very minimum I’ll post a bunch of OC ask memes or shipping memes and just marathon answer some character questions!

I’d like to do mini donation drives once a quarter so be on the lookout for an announcement about my next one coming up soonish.  Not sure what cause I’ll be working for but I’ll keep yall in the loop.

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 29/March/2024

Very much a same-thing kind-of week! Writing and getting prepped towards the demo.

I mentioned before about having a different system in place for Book Four when it comes to editing and testing. The plan is to write one chapter, completely do all my own editing and testing on it, then move onto writing the next chapter. Whilst I then write the next chapter, the previous one can go to the editor before then going to the readers and testers.

Hopefully completely finishing up one chapter at a time will make things much easier than overwhelming my poor editor and readers with lots of chapters in one go, especially with there being so many more branches and variations that all weave in and out and together at this point in the series! It wasn’t as necessary for Book One and Two, but I definitely came to realise that things needed a more thorough go over by Book Three when it was all more intricate to work all the scenes and branches around each other!

But you know I LOVE my variations and branching, so I don’t want to compromise on writing those, it just meant a different process was needed.

It does mean I have to take more time between chapters, but in the end it should save time towards the end parts of the book when I usually save up a lot of my testing for then.

It’s all kind of an experiment, but I really think it will take the pressure off for a lot of the process!

Saying that, I already kind of got off plan because I started writing on Chapter Two because I hadn’t decided where Chapter One was ending, lol! :D

But I’m back to Chapter One and working my way through that, as well as dipping back into the character creator when needed as I go through it.

It’s a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK, so we'll be back to it on Tuesday instead of Monday! (I do realise today is a bank holiday as well, but I really wanted to get just a bit more done on the editing!).
