My Too-Soon “I’m buying a house!” Post
Hey y’all I know I’ve been dropping news left and right these days but I just put in an offer for a 200+ year-old house in the Berkshires
Tumblr media
It is down the street from a “haunted” tavern that’s almost 300 years old, a 20-minute drive to Tanglewood, and has a river with the ruins of an old mill building. When you open the windows you can hear the roar of the water (imagine the sound of rain on the rooftop, except during the sunshine and at all times).
Tumblr media
Here’s some of the interior:

It has an ancient bread oven:

It’s close to the Appalachian Trail, tons of delicious food, a mountain to ski/snowboard on and lots of awesome lakes to swim in. There are snowmobile trails in the woods!
I’m doing this with my older sister and we’re going to probably rent it out while I’m in my PhD program but I AM SO EXCITED to hopefully have a place to go to of my very own!

addressing a common misunderstanding I've been seeing lately:
communists don't want to take your toothbrush. you use your toothbrush. you have it to use it. it is personal property.
what we would be upset about is if you bought five hundred toothbrushes so you could sell them for double the price. you aren't using five hundred toothbrushes. you're using them to make capital and exploit those who need toothbrushes to get it.
likewise, we don't mind if you have a nice computer. you use your computer for things. that's why you have it. personal property.
we do mind if you have fifteen computers in your basement all mining bitcoin. you only have those fifteen computers to get bitcoin (capital). you have no use for those fifteen computers in your daily life. that's where we have a problem.
you can pick up a rock in your yard, paint it, and sell it at a market stall. fine. cool! what gets problematic is if you go out to the rocky area behind your house and stake a claim to it so that nobody else can get or make painted rocks, making you the sole supplier of painted rocks (intellectual property law). then that's an issue.
we won't take your house. even if it's a nice house. we're more concerned with the five houses you own purely for tax benefits and occasionally rent out for exorbitant prices to people who need the basic human right of shelter.
if you own something for your own use, that's personal property. if you own something for the purpose of gaining more capital (getting richer), that's private property. that's what we want to minimize.
(small personal businesses and their place in such a system is a matter of some debate. personally, as long as you aren't capitalizing on a basic necessity, monopolizing/forbidding others to create similar goods, or making some kind of hierarchical mega-corporation around it, I don't see the issue with that.)

If the southern plantation class was willing to initiate a civil war to preserve its property right in slave labor, he [Marx] asked, what will the bourgeoisie be likely to do in the advent of a challenge to its property right in wage labor? He provided a clear answer: the “bourgeois republic was bound to turn immediately into bourgeois terrorism.” The past one hundred years, which has been replete with counterrevolutions initiated by forces desperate to preserve the established order, underlines Marx’s point. It’s seen from Thiers to Deniken, from the Freikorps to Pinochet, and from the Bay of Pigs to Bolsonaro. It is a reality that we ignore at our peril.

The business of obscuring language is a mask behind which stands the much greater business of plunder. The people's property and the people's sovereignty are to be stripped from them at one and the same time.

Science
So science is the structure of explainations that fit a cohesion, linked to other things we have decided to be cohesive. In order to test and use the properties of materials. All of which (the materials), Existing with phenomena that is changeable. Or controllable through structured thought surrounding each object. The phenomenon conjured a thought to structuralize properties and explanations about objects in question. That is. to seem. That we question the phenomena first, with theory standpoints, Of what is possible, probable, likely or known. Use the theory standpoints to create a view that validates assumptions we have about the phenomena. Then test the assumptions. Whatever views hold. Or produce effects under repeatable conditions can be made principle of the phenomenon. and we can judge which principles work under what conditions. By their repeatability. Under maximum known factorization of what is possible with the phenomena when we assessed possibilities, probabilities, ilkelihoods, and facts. If there is computational hardness to the object under one web of standpoints, Then that enviornment for these phenomenon is said to produce effects that are known (given, the web of standpoints supports the asssumptions of the experiment. And doesn’t change under other trials).
