POLICE ASSAULT AND DETAIN PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTERS IN NEW YORK CITY
📹 Scenes from the assault and arrest of Pro-Palestine protestors rallying against the U.S.-funded attempted Zionist genocide of the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip on Monday.
Pro-Palestine protests have been spreading throughout the world in recent weeks, including massive protests across the Arab world including Yemen and Jordan, as well as protests in central and western Europe, and as far as Tokyo in Japan.

Why to people get so mad at protester. I will se videos of people protesting fur or oil and the comments will be filled with genuine death threats. Shouldn’t that hate go to those companies and not the protesters?
There is massive state and media apparatus in place specifically devoted to demonising anyone who challenges the status quo. Socialists, anarchists, civil rights activists, animal rights activists, climate change protestors - the full weight of propaganda is turned against any one of them who is gaining any kind of public attention. It is relentless, it exists across the political spectrum and you really don’t recognise yourself as being influenced by it until you learn how to deconstruct your own biases.

L'indole della moltitudine è volubile.
- Niccolò Machiavelli, Il Principe
The temper of the multitude is fickle.
A policeman and firefighters stand next to a burning pile of rubbish at Place de l'Opera in front of Opera Garnier during a demonstration a few days after the government pushed a pensions reform through parliament without a vote, using the article 49,3 of the constitution in Paris on 20 March 2023.⁣

Secret Amazon Reports Expose the Company’s Surveillance of Labor and Environmental Groups
“Updates on labor organizing activities at warehouses include the exact date, time, location, the source who reported the action, the number of participants at an event (and in some cases a turnout rate of those expected to participate in a labor action), and a description of what happened, such as a ‘strike’ or ‘the distribution of leaflets.’ Other documents reveal that Amazon intelligence analysts keep close tabs on how many warehouse workers attend union meetings; specific worker dissatisfactions with warehouse conditions, such as excessive workloads; and cases of warehouse-worker theft ...
“The new intelligence reports obtained by Motherboard reveal in detail how Amazon uses social media to track environmental activism and social movements in Europe—including Greenpeace and Fridays For Future, environmental activist Greta Thunberg's global climate strike movement—and perceives such groups as a threat to its operations. In 2019, Amazon monitored the Yellow Vests movement, also known as the gilet jaunes, a grassroots uprising for economic justice that spread across France—and solidarity movements in Vienna and protests against state repression in Iran ...
“‘It’s not enough for Amazon to abuse its dominant market power and face antitrust charges by the EU; now they are exporting 19th century American union-busting tactics to Europe,’ Christy Hoffman, general secretary of UNI Global Union, a global federation of trade unions that represents more than 20 million workers, told Motherboard. ‘This is a company that is ignoring the law, spying on workers, and using every page of the U.S. union-busting playbook to silence workers' voices’ ...
“‘Amazon's systemic use of military surveillance methods against unionists and activists is deeply alarming,’ said Aubry, who is also a senior member of France's France Insoumise, France's main radical left party. ‘Amazon and Jeff Bezos act as if they were above the law because they have accumulated unprecedented levels of wealth and power. This has to stop.’”

Views on the conflict aside, online pro-Palestinian folks are becoming increasingly unreasonable. I’ve seen the comment sections of multiple folks who’ve spoken up against Israeli policy towards Gaza flooded by “deafening silence” comments for…not being one dimensional and having other parts to their lives?
This is somewhat forgivable in the case of politicians, but it’s especially egregious with others. God forbid a teen romance author…discuss his books instead of dedicating all of his posts to a conflict a thousand miles away!
