—Open Starter @providencepeakstarters capping for my sanity :) Location: Pick a bar, any bar! (Or cafe or other public drinking establishment... Feel free to make this a sneaky renaissance fair starter if it's after the time it's started) Please assume connections — Foster can either be exactly the person they think he is or not. They can have just asked him something, or maybe he just thought they did! I typically hate starters that rely on the other character having acted first, but I can't think of anything better, so give me whatever you can come up with and make me regret ever being born! Foster just got back into town, and he's a bit paranoid his outdated reputation is not favorable...
Foster wasn't the same person he'd been 12 years ago when he'd last stood on Colorado soil. In a lot of ways he was glad for that fact, but that, angry, sad kid still lingered somewhere inside him. He'd never done well standing still, and the fact that he was doing it here of all places made him want to act out in a way he hadn't in years, like an infant throwing a temper tantrum because they had no other way of expressing themselves. His palms itched, and he wondered if stealing a pack of cigarettes would help the way it used to. He considered trying it, but the idea of being caught shoplifting as a thirty year old man was pathetic in a way he couldn't quite stomach.
So he found other ways of occupying himself — preferably the kinds that supplied alcohol to calm his constant nerves... And he tried his hardest not to draw attention to himself. "Sorry," he said with a sheepish smile. "I think you might have the wrong person."

open starter for anyone at the open range @providencepeakstarters
What had started out as a walk to the park with Brock had turned into a full day adventure. Leila's motivation for work had been completely sapped, something she had no idea how to deal with. Rather than confronting and dealing with her emotions, Leila instead had put every inch of her attention into her dog. After playing with some of the other dogs, Brock had settled in for a nap, Leila curled up with him under a tree. Head resting against Brock's stomach, Leila was flopped over, piloting her drone around the park to keep herself occupied. Jetting it around in circles, Leila attempted to swerve it underneath a tree branch, sending the drone spiraling out right into the path of an unfortunate bystander. "Oh! Sorry, it - the drone. Sorry," she called out, reluctantly getting up from her comfortable spot to retrieve her drone.

OPEN STARTER (@providencepeakstarters) at crane bros. distillery
"I'll be right with you,” Fletcher calls to few folks he catches by the bar while he is taking a quick count of the bottles behind the bar.
His employment at Crane Bros. Distillery had been very different from his past bartending experience in Philadelphia, but Fletch has found that he fit right into the role. The customers are great, and even if one of his bosses feels a bit off kilter, he really has no complaints. He gets to meet new people, and his bills are paid.
He finishes scratching numbers down on the server pad and then stands to greet the patron. “What brings you by today? We have a drink menu, or are you in for a tasting?”

who: open starter (@providencepeakstarters) where: Downtown Extravaganza
Capping at (5/5)
The smell of coffee didn't have the usual calming effect Kaya had hoped for as she stood by Lucky Joe's stall. Being outdoors for the first time in nearly a week felt as stressful as she had anticipated, never mind Ophelia's very enthusiastic encouragements and Roman's quiet looks of judgement. She knew she couldn't stay cooped inside forever, but the concept of wrapping herself and her baby girl in a blanket and cocoon away the days sounded so appealing in that moment she bodily shivered. After a long sigh, she took a sip of coffee and immediately frowned at the paper cup, making an effort to swallow it. She paid for this shit. Absolute robbery.
A long stare down with the offending beverage ensued, which required taking off the big round sunglasses she'd donned this morning in an attempt for anonymity. That was the official excuse she gave, but she's fairly certain her newly acquired roommate saw that for the bullshit it was and that she just wanted to avoid feeling seen at all. Nevermind what his judgy eyes said. It was sunny today, dammit, she was allowed to wear sunglasses without any ulterior motives.
Her inner monologue was blissfully cut short when she realised she was blocking the counter to order, at which point she quickly stepped away, and started eyeing for a trashcan. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." she quickly apologized. She planned to make a swift exit, keen to avoid unnecessary interaction, but when she saw them approaching the coffee jar about to make the same critical mistake she was, the words slipped out before she could stop them. "Order at your own risk. I suspect someone might have swapped the boiling water and their truck's oil when brewing this."

Ingrid paused in her tracks, her eyes narrowing as she spotted something lying on the pavement. It was a single glove, soaked from the snow, abandoned and lonely. With a sigh, she glanced around, but there was no one nearby to claim it. Still, she couldn't just leave it there, not in this freezing weather. "Hey, excuse me!" she called out to a passerby, holding up the soggy glove. "Is this yours by any chance? It's all wet, but it might be better than nothing in this cold," she added, gesturing to the glove in her hand. "I found it lying here on the ground, and I didn't see anyone drop it."

Location: A large house in Summit Lake
Since becoming a mother, Dalila hadn't had any time to go to things like parties so when she was invited a party for just delivering some desserts she'd made for this party at a fancy schmancy house up in Summit Lake, how could she say no? Donning a little black dress, she sorted out putting the desserts out and just like the drunken host had demanded, she went to go and get a drink and to 'enjoy herself and have a night off'. Now she was stood with a drink in her hand, scanning the room for literally anyone she knew to try and ease the small pit of anxiety building in her stomach. The second she decided to try a different room to find anyone she knew, she bumped in to someone with a narrow catch on her own drink to stop any spilling on the other. "Oh, that was a close one!" She jokingly laughed to avoid it being any kind of drama. "Are you okay? I didn't step on your foot or anything did I?"

where: choose your own adventure / anywhere where money is exchanged for something
for: @providencepeakstarters
Tumblr media
"Hey, kind of weird and very awkward question but could you get this for me? I'm good for it, I swear. I'll get it right back to ya," Reggie explains, hearing as he spoke how he sounded exactly like someone who was the exact opposite. In a rush and in a usual haze of thoughtlessness, he had assumed his wallet was in the jacket he was wearing only to discover that wasn't the case as he was one person away from the register.
He's aware that his request is cheeky, and he hopes elaborating might make it less so.
"I'd use ApplePay but I haven't seen my phone since Thursday."

open starter @providencepeakstarters at holy spirits
Asher was out of town, Sage was dead to her, and Yas had a full two days off work. It was the perfect storm of things to leave her itching to do something reckless. For Yasemin Dogan, even a night of "recklessness" was a relatively tame affair. She'd gotten dressed up to the nines looking as stunning as possible and showed up at Holy Spirits with every intention of getting herself into a whirlwind of drama. Instead, she'd had a few fruity drinks, danced with a few strangers that bought her more fruity drinks, and then plopped down at the bar once the world started to spin. Her forehead was firmly flopped down against the bar top, a groan leaving her lips. This was not at all the night of debauchery she'd anticipated, even if it was exactly what she probably should have expected from herself. Sensing someone coming up and sitting in the seat next to her, Yas let her head shift slightly to the side, one eye peeking out from the dark cavern she'd created with her arms. "Sorry. I'm okay. I can get out of your way. In a minute. When the world stops spinning," she chattered, the alcohol in her system making her words coming out quick and ever so slightly slurred.

open starter for @providencepeakstarters at any place you want!
"You know how, like, some life-changing decisions, you don't even realize how big they are in the moment?" Esther says thoughtfully. "I need all my shit to be like that, I don't wanna know when I'm changing the course of my life. Like, what's the biggest decision you've ever had to make?" she asks, eyebrows raised sincerely.

open starter ! location: outside the jagged yard, downtown !
It had only been a few days since her run in with her biological father— not that he'd had any idea— and Frankie hadn't felt right since. She wasn't sleeping well if she was sleeping much at all, she only remembered to eat because Nat wouldn't stop bothering her about it and she hadn't seen hide nor hair of... anyone, really, since Sunday. She wasn't even sure what had possessed her to go down to the Jagged Yard in the first place— maybe it had been a small hope that having people around might help her feel a little better. It hadn't, really, and she was standing outside now with a cigarette dangling from her lips and her thoughts about a million miles away. Frankie took a slow drag and frowned, pausing in her small, unhelpful ritual to blink owlishly when she realized someone else was there. "Shit, sorry— did you need something? Ignore me if you didn't, obviously, I'm a little..." She trailed off, her frown deepening. "Out of it," Frankie finished lamely.

→ deja brew. open (cap at 4) - @providencepeakstarters
Tumblr media
The pair next to him were being loud. Not to the point where it would be considered obnoxious, but just enough that Roman long gave up attempting to actually read his book, pretending to glance at the pages every now and again as he drank in their mindless chatter and gossip. Which actually, was quite interesting — in the same way soap operas were interesting once you got yourself sucked into it — eagerly awaiting the next part of the story when someone came over to him. "One moment," He requested to the stranger. "I need to know what happened Tuesday, or I'm afraid it'll keep me up all bloody night. Feel free to join and listen in, if you'd like."

Characters: Alicia Miller-Garcia & OPEN Location: Deja Brew Open Starter @providencepeakstarters
Days when their town was blessed with a beautiful winter sun coinciding with her days off were a rare occurrence indeed. It was a no-brainer that this specific day would be spent outside, enjoying whatever rays of sunshine she could with Cooper and Hazel. The little girl was busy playing in the small playground nearby with her grandmother, allowing Alicia to just enjoy a hot cup of coffee in peace and quiet. Cooper was just as glad to bask in the sun, lying down next to Alicia and digging his nose in the pup cup she had gotten him. Being the goofy dog he was, he lifted his head only to sniff at the person walking past, with cream all over his nose. "I'm so sorry if he's gotten any cream on you!" She exclaimed, realizing how close Cooper had gotten to the person.

open starter at the open range @providencepeakstarters
What had started out as a fun road trip with Phoebe had very quickly turned into quite the disaster of a trip. Leila hadn't expected to ever find herself unnerved by rabbits, but when a little bunny came hopping out from the woods while walking with Brock, Leila found herself completely unwilling to let herself get dragged into the rabbits again. Her eyes shifted around quickly trying to spot if there were any threats from the rabbit cult from the previous week. All she saw was a lone individual coming her way and Leila was backed up with Brock, both of their hackles raised. Rather than risking it, Leila quickly grabbed onto the nearest tree to get herself a bit up, Brock sitting at the bottom standing guard. "If you're with the rabbit people, I swear I didn't mean to make fun of it," she called out, taking the small precaution to get ahead of the potential drama.

Location: Farmers Market Cap: 5
Tumblr media
Wesley had been so crazy busy and dealing with some family drama. He was glad the holidays was over and he finally felt like that he finally breath and balance things. Eric was away on a trip and it was just him and Ollie which made the house empty. Wesley had also cut down his hours a bit to give his son more of his time and attention. They were at the farmers market and Ollie was having fun. The doctor managed to look away for a moment and looked back to see his son walking off. "Ollie," he called out as he dropped what he was holding as Ollie walked into someone. Wesley quickly rushed and sighed, picking up his son who had fallen. "I am so sorry," he spoke with a smile on his face.
"Ollie you know not to run off," he turned and spoke to his son who nodded and told the other sorry.

"god, i wish i was back being a little kid. you know, instead of allowance, my dad would get me two back-issues per week. i'd read through them in seconds." gone were the days were life was that simple, where some lacquered pages would cure all of the worlds ills. so long as he knew what was going on in spiderman's life, or wolverine's, or thor's, his own had seemed a little more palatable. there were no comic books about fathers with failing businesses. "today, i can probably stretch to one. my daughter's birthday was a few weeks ago so my wallet is real thin. what toddler wants a three-tiered garage set to play with?"

Where: Spruce Mountain Ski Lodge and Resort Who: @providencepeakstarters (Capping at 3!)
James wasn't exactly sure what had gotten into him, but for some reason, he wanted to go skiing and spend some time in snow-capped heights. Of course, he wasn't going to go there alone.
"Look, it's so pretty!" he exclaimed as Rey came bounding beside him, her paws submerged in snow though she was wearing her doggie shoes and a cute little jacket. "The last time I was here, I wasn't able to take you." The golden retriever barked in protest. "Okay, I didn't take you. But hey, you're here now."
The dynamic duo walked a little bit as they took in the majestic sight that the ski lodge had to offer. They stopped beside someone and James gave the person a smile. "It's gorgeous, isn't it?" he said. "So are you here for a snowy Christmas or just to freeze yourself off?
