Is there any character from ML that you hate more than Adrien?

Let's see... While Adrien is a character I certainly dislike, and he'd be in my Top 10 Most Despised Miraculous Characters List, he still wouldn't make it into the Top 5.

I'll just rattle off some that deserve even more spite: Audrey and André Bourgeois for being abusive parents and abandoning their daughter, Tomoe Tsurugi for being abusive parent and willingly working with a terrorist, André the Ice-Cream Man for being a creep who believes he's entitled to a teenager's love life and attempts to hurt said teenager because his OTP isn't winning, Ms. Bustier for being just the worst teacher ever by awarding bullies while punishing victims, Lila for being... Lila (and by proxy the whole class because how stupid can you be?!), and Thomas Astruc for all the awful writing and all the nonsense he posts on Twitter (he is a self-insert in his own show, so he counts).

The top spots are taken by Colt Fathom, for being a monster, and Gabriel Agreste, also for being a monster, albeit one shown on screen. The fact that the finale has him not only winning despite all the horrible things he has done is despicable, even more when, according to Astruc, a man who is a terrorist and abusive father who tortured his own son several times is more redeemable than a teenage girl who has been abused and abandoned by her own parents, as well as manipulated by said terrorist.

I'm not joking when I say that I'll be throwing a party once Gabriel bites the dust. The only other character I ever despised this much, to the point of cheering when he died was Locke the Echidna from the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics (a whole another can of worms by itself).

Another idea for F:NM!

Looking up the Archie Sonic Dingo Regime’s origins and such, what are the odds that they’d make an appropriate fill in for Caesar’s Legion, with Helmut von Stryker as the Caesar to his son, Kage’s, Lanius?

I know Casinopolis has been adapted in the role of New Vegas, but as for the NCR and Enclave, I’m admittedly drawing a blank.

The Battle Birds were my intended proxies for Caesar's Legion, never actually considered the Dingo. Dingo probably would have worked well too, but... I guess I'm slightly iffy about them because of their usage in the Archie comics. The whole pseudo-Nazi thing, you know? NCR- I can't remember what my plans were for that, I need to rethink- I think it was GUN based? Enclave was vaguely based on the Nocturnus, but with more than just echidna.

You already know that I am head over heels for just about every echidna... They all take turns. Julie-Su, Kragok, Lien-Da, Lara-Su, I've written so much for! And Rutan by proxy; Lara-Le, Wyn, Mace... Luger, Merin-Da, Mari-Su, my BELOVED Simon and Floren-Ca... I'm also rather fond of Remington and Teri-Lu~ Hawking, Thunderhawk, Rembrandt, and Spectre are some of my favourite guardians. I could just write about them all forever.

But, ah, Archie is so much more than my bubble of beloved echidnas! Razor is one of my favourite boys; I also really adore Cassia. I'm quite fond of the Fearsome Foursome (snrk) at the best of times.

Rotor is forever. Rotor and Bunnie. They count more as SatAM for me, though. I have spent so much time writing about Scourge & Co; Alicia gets me.

Then right back to echidna-adjacent with my ever beloved Elias. Raised by the brotherhood when he was a toddler; fantastic stuff! There is so much you can do with that.

And, of course, the chameleons... Liza, Valdez, even Barney gets a heart.

YEAH NO PROBLEM it’ll get VERY VERY VERY VERY long cuz there’s. a lot but i’ll list em off under the cut

hibiki — fast but fragile, more likely to run and dodge than strike first. primary weapon is his arm cannon, so he prefers to keep his distance. he’s a small moving target, so he’s tough to hit, especially when he’s so far away

tex — strong but slow. he’s the main trio’s tank and his weapons are his fists. takes as many hits as he can while protecting others. most likely to throw cars or other heavy objects as a projectile

cain — balanced between hibiki and tex. ignores how many hits he takes, more focused on “hitting the other guy until someone stops moving”. brute force. primary weapon is his baseball bat, but isn’t opposed to using his skateboard as a weapon

blue — only fights as proxy [mech suit]. no strategy, very manic and hectic, most likely to just headbutt and use Themself as a weapon

zinnia — has a rapier concealed inside her cane, but isn’t opposed to just thwacking people with her cane as-is. mostly hangs back and strategizes how to take the other guy down Quickly before she starts getting too fatigued to stand up. tends to use her cane as like a pivot/anchor so she can jump and kick

irini — doesn’t fight humans, but her main weapon is a small-scale EMP/tazer. she never expects a fight, so she’s always caught off-guard if the other guy is able to last longer than her initial “take them out quickly” one hit kill

félix — drones. he stays behind in his apartment and sends circuit-bent drones to go fight in his stead

cognac and molly malice — they both use sniper rifles, but molly is more cocky and likely to get caught off guard whereas cognac tends to miss easy shots

vivi — handgun, simple and straightforward, only uses it if she has to. she’s more likely to hack into robots to make them kill themselves instead of actually fighting head-on, because when she DOES have to fight, she tends to lose her composure.

pandora — fucked up sadistic game show host who will strap you to the wheel of fortune wheel and set it on fire

viktor and valentyna — they’re classy and try not to fight if they can help it, are more likely to keep challenging you to more and more outlandish bets. valentyna doesn’t have any built-in combat capabilities, but her heels are sharp enough to gut a person. viktor meanwhile uses a machine gun

voltaire — electrocution and, similar to vivi, puppeteering other robots like marionettes to make them fight for him, though with voltaire it isn’t hacking, it’s just manipulating the voltage to force them to move how he wants

KK — has modified all their limbs into weapons; their legs can fold out into big scissor-like blades and their hands are like switchblade claws. also uses intimidation as a weapon so they don’t have to get their hands dirty, but when they Do have to fight, they’re ruthless, cunning, and most of all, faster than your reaction time. KK is the type who would split second unsheathe and resheathe a sword and then moments later you’ve been sashimi’d

072 — chains. intended to just be part of their on-stage costume, but now uses them like big whips. prefers just trying to subdue the opponent or get them away so they don’t have to fight in close contact

herbie — too fast for the naked eye. tries to tire you out first then catches you by surprise

doctor heckle and mr guy — heckle basically either rides on mr guy’s back or hangs back from a distance to boss him around like a pokemon. mr guy is another tank, but even slower than tex, though he makes up for it with bigass knuckles the echidna claws with which he can digging in the ground for tubers (joke). guy doesn’t like fighting, but can’t resist following orders. if guy is out of commission, heckle resorts to his other mechanical creations made of junk, and if Those are out of commission, he surrenders. heckle will Never actually fight one on one

hijinx — very playful, fights like he’s just roughhousing. jumps around a lot and uses his extendo arms, big sickles, and cartoon-shaped bombs (which originally were intended to just make a little burst of confetti or glitter, but now have been modified into deadly obnoxious explosives, though some are still duds). cries and says you’re being unfair if you beat him. WILL juggle the bombs. kinda works on bugs bunny logic, you just gotta outsmart him

444 — biiiiiiiig big big wings and blinding searchlight, will sooner try to flashbang you so it can run away than actually stick around for a fight, but if cornered, will kick like a secretary bird

rev — he’s too polite and friendly to get his hands dirty. he uses the husks of other androids like shields to protect him from would-be attackers, and rather than actually fighting, is more likely to get you to join the horde. if you’re human though, you’re harder to brainwash, so he just tries to maintain a nice image

mantid — despite his personality, he’s surprisingly ruthless in combat. likely to gut people. big praying mantis claws that also function as sniper lasers, as well as mandibles with which he can Bite

maggie — magnets. bad for robots. the most apologetic attacker of them all, especially because if he pulls an angry android towards him, it’s more than likely an accident and he was trying to push them away. another effect magnets have on androids is migraines and the feeling of nausea, so if maggie Has to fight, he prefers a weakened target

sawyer — more likely to just run at the first sign of a fight and tends to (think he can) take on smaller or more obviously weak opponents like hibiki. uses a stolen tazer/EMP device like irini and other repomen, and as backup, prehensile tail with a blade attachment.

salty — did you know road salt is like super corrosive? i learned that just now. additionally she has those fuckin uhhhh snow plow shovels i forget the right word but those can be used to both smack and throw (she’s a chuckster)

cryo — bigass ice pick really it’s more like a pickaxe. she can also induce freezing she basically has ice powers

whiskey — his arms are cocktail shakers so he can literally just use high-pressure booze as a projectile. super cocky showoff who always fights like it’s a performance, but is way too casual about it and easy to catch off guard

086 — motherfucker uses poker chips as projectiles he has like. i’m imagining the style of arm cannon quickman shoots his boomerangs out of but for poker chips and very sharp cards. since he tries to keep his cool, he only fights when he loses his temper, and then he basically goes berserk, brute force, viciously tries to mow down anyone in his path, the whole shebang. however, this does make him Super easy to provoke or catch off guard

nano — to her it’s a giant robot she’s piloting like evangelion, to anyone else it’s just normal sized martial artist robot. punches and kicks and cool poses y’know

I'm just trying to work this out, but basically this is what all the pre-Flynn writers got after that disastrous ruling (more or less)? Angelo DeCesare got the Arctic FF, Car-Heem, the Nerbs, Cyril Eagle, Larry Lynx, and the Gorilla Army. Dan Slott got Zonic (and possibly all of the Zone cops by proxy) and the anime knockoff zones. Frank Strom got Monkey Khan and all of the Dragon Kingdom stuff. Karl Bollers got the Sand-Blasters, Nate Morgan, Mina, (to be continued next post)

(Continued), a number of aliens like the Bem and Xorda, Finitevus, Uma Arachnis, a large number of Overlanders including Hugo Brass and Hope Kintobor, the Order of Ixis, and Zan. Tails, Eggman, and Cream (re: Little Planet if applicable)!

Tails - Favourite continuity? (Games, Comics or one of the Cartoons etc.)

Despite everything and all my issues with it? Pre-Reboot Archie.

SatAM was great but it was cancelled right around the time I learned it even existed, and it would be years before I could enjoy the show in its entirety. And then of course there was the fact I wouldn’t properly play the Genesis games until eventually getting Sonic Jam, so that meant for the most part? Archie Sonic was my go-to Sonic media, and it ultimately became the comic book I most invested in. I almost had every issue and special at one point, and being young, none of the problems with it really became clear to me- I just enjoyed it because it had Sonic in it, heh. 

That being said, as time went on, I began to enjoy it because of the fact it was SatAM based and yet also included stuff from the games, and I enjoyed a lot of the lore that was produced from it... it pretty much helped shape my idea of ‘Sonic’ entirely, and that includes all the stuff that went into Knuckles. Even to this day, in my heart of hearts, I can never really de-attach from this iteration of Sonic. 

Obviously, a lot of the polish has come off since the olden days. While as I got older and better informed about reading I started to realize a lot of the writing wasn’t as good as I remembered, the whole Lawsuit thing really opened the floodgates after @fini-mun directed me towards Penders’ forum... seeing his conduct there opened my eyes to the fact that not only was a lot of the stuff he made that I loved badly, badly written, but he himself was kind of an awful guy, and that awfulness underlay everything he wrote, ESPECIALLY with regards to Sally. 

Despite everything though... I still like it. I like it because I like how it interpreted things in the days before SEGA really began to solidify its idea of what Sonic was, and I like it because it incorporates so much from different parts of Sonic. And I like it despite how heavily flawed it was for much of its existence, and for the IDEA of the lore it presented even if the actual execution missed the mark more often than not. It was a pretty big fixture in my life for a very long time, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still attached to it. 

...it’d probably be ‘perfect’ to me if Julian had remained, but oh well. 

Eggman - Favourite badnik or henchmen?

That’s not entirely clear given that a ‘Badnik’ is something I see as specifically being those robots powered by animals used throughout the early games and later own, while a ‘henchman’ has different connotations entirely. But what the heck, I can answer both. 

My favorite BADNIK are the Eggrobos. 

What can I say, I find them neat. I like the idea that they are the upper crust of Eggman’s badniks, his elite forces, and because of that fact they are modeled in his own image. It just says so much about the guy right there, and I enjoy thinking of them as the ‘Officer Corps’ of the Badniks- robots who will act as Eggman’s proxies when he himself cannot be present. 

Now as for Henchman? Unsurprisingly, it’s Snively. 

I love this little bastard, and he really is one, yet at the same time he’s rather pitiable despite how despicable he is. Being Robotnik’s lackey and personal punching bag would make you feel bad for the guy enough, but the reveal that he is in fact Robotnik’s own nephew and once admired the guy adds a surprisingly potent layer of tragedy to Snively. Likewise, it puts a new spin on his own ambitions to overthrow his uncle and run the show himself- he’s not merely power hungry for his own sake, but actively trying to outdo a man who spent the last decade treating him like dirt and calling him an incompetent. He has something to prove, and I think that’s part of why he’s destined to ultimately fail... which adds to the tragedy, especially with the way Archie expanded upon him and his background, while presenting the idea that there is a SLIVER of decency within him in that despite everything, he still legitimately loves his half-sister Hope. 

It presents a surprisingly complicated picture of a guy whose entire role is being Robotnik/Eggman’s treacherous, power hungry little lackey, but damn if it isn’t compelling. 

Cream - Any Headcanons?

I got a tiny one about the Little Planet. I believe that the Little Planet isn’t a natural phenomenon, but is in fact an artificially created planet that was made by one of the ancient Great Civilizations (one of the ones that pre-date the Echidna, obviously). It was specifically created to house the Time Stones and to test out their time travel abilities, though why the Great Civilization would do it is still a mystery, as is HOW they created an entire world to begin with. 

Furthermore? The Lost Hex is in fact an incomplete ‘Little Planet’. 

Whoever created the Little Planet simply vanished before they could finish the Lost Hex, but either way, the Little Planet and the Lost Hex as ‘brothers’ in a sense... and why the ancients vanished so suddenly is even more mysterious than the both of them.

Some Sonic the Hedgehog (2020 Film) notes:

- Dr. Robotnik's theme in the movie is a slower, more sinister version of his theme from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog 90's cartoon.

- HyperPotions' music for Sonic Mania is used in the opening scene.

- Longclaw, new character. Mentor to Sonic and may be the missing link to many of the ancient owl carvings featured in classic Sonic's aqueduct stages(Labyrinth Zone/Hydrocity Zone).

- Robotnik operates under an organization that could very well be the precursor to Sonic Adventure 2's 'G.U.N' faction. Robotnik's robots also heavily resemble G.U.N tech.
