Quote
Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;  Righteousness and peace kiss each other.  Faithfulness springs up from the ground,  And righteousness looks down from the sky.  Yes, the LORD will give what is good,  And our land will yield its increase.  Righteousness will go before him  And make his footsteps a way.
Psalm 85:10-13 ESV (2016)

Restoration of Favor
For the choir director. A psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 Lord, you showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. 2 You forgave your people’s guilt; you covered all their sin.Selah 3 You withdrew all your fury; you turned from your burning anger.
4 Return to us, God of our salvation, and abandon your displeasure with us. 5 Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger for all generations? 6 Will you not revive us again so that your people may rejoice in you? 7 Show us your faithful love, Lord, and give us your salvation.
8 I will listen to what God will say; surely the Lord will declare peace to his people, his faithful ones, and not let them go back to foolish ways. 9 His salvation is very near those who fear him, so that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Faithful love and truth will join together; righteousness and peace will embrace. 11 Truth will spring up from the earth, and righteousness will look down from heaven. 12 Also, the Lord will provide what is good, and our land will yield its crops. 13 Righteousness will go before him to prepare the way for his steps. — Psalm 85 | Christian Standard Bible (CSB) The Christian Standard Bible. PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 85
Wednesday, 11/15/23
SCRIPTURE:
You forgave Your people’s guilt; You covered all their sin. Selah  You withdrew all Your fury;  You turned from Your burning anger. ~ Psalm 85:2-3
OBSERVATION:
He forgave my guilt...
He covered all my sin...
Selah - Stop and listen!
He withdrew His fury...
He turned from His burning anger...
All because of what Jesus did...
APPLICATION:
Stop and listen...
Consider what this means...
To and for me...
To and for and about Jesus...
About God...
PRAYER:
Grace-full and forgiving Heavenly Father - I ask forgiveness for not stopping and listening when I know You are speaking and acting in and around me - and I give thanks for Your compassionate forgiveness, covering my sin with Jesus, withdrawing Your righteous and just anger... may I pause before thoughts and actions take form and consider what I am about to do or say or decide in light of Your will for me and how it might reflect on You... In Jesus's Name, Father, and for Your glory...
Forgiven and covered with you - by Him;

Lamentations 4.3 ~ Sea Monsters
Lamentations 4.3 ~ Sea Monsters
Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, Mercy and truth are met together. They give suck to their young ones, Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. The daughter of my people is become cruel, Like the ostriches in the wilderness. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

I know I'm yanking this out of context (bad me!), but I absolutely love this verse - the imagery is just so gorgeous!
Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other.
