im back in hospital so you best believe i have not very much aesthetic content to post, but this is just your daily reminder to take care of yourselves (and i mean, really. not in the commercialisation of self-care way). no degree is worth your safety. studying with mental illness is hard, but i believe in u. when the internet said yes dark academia aesthetic they did not mean to include us

i think talking about “cope” within a tjlc context is hilarious at this point. i’m not on copium baby i’m on something worse! we moved beyond notions of cope approximately 4 years ago. blog theory and EMP have burned out like great stars and all that’s left is the hardest stringiest life forms. what anyone still riding this train has going on is much more complicated and personal than cope. i invented cope. after what i’ve seen there’s nothing cope could do for me. i stare into the eye of the storm with breathtaking awareness. i welcome entropy. “what else could they possibly mean by this?” is our equivalent of “what is the sound of one hand clapping?” almost a meditation on the nature of our state. there is no answer to this question, in fact the very lack of an answer is the point. cope is for those who still can shield their eyes, but we have been burdened with sight! i took an edible approximately three hours ago

why some people dont study ✍(◔◡◔)
“Well, actually.. I don’t study.” You’ve heard this multiple times. From the class toppers, the people that seemingly don’t do anything, the people that shrug their shoulders and walk off with full marks. You gape in astonishment, and perhaps, in envy. All your hard work and hours slaving away.. All for a grade you aren’t happy with. How do they do it?
I’ve personally been in both situations, where I didn’t study and got good grades, and where I sacrificed so much for a bad grade. Here’s some reasons why people “don't study” and get good grades:
They have mastered the topic: This is usually the most common reason. Imagine you are taking a test, and the test is about addition and subtraction. Did you need to study for this exam? Probably not, since you have already mastered the topic. It’s easy to ace it (hopefully..). It’s the same for that person. They have already mastered the topic, from prior education or activities, so there is no reason to study for a test. The exam would be easy, and they have already moved on to harder topics. No need to try.
They are thoroughly engaged with the class: I have never needed to study for psychology exams (although I still practiced for them!). Why? Because I loved that subject! The teacher, the class, the topics, everything was so engaging to me. I was the one person with my hand raised, because I really loved discussing and engaging in that class. Listening in class was most of my studying. I did really well on the final exams, even without much studying (I still studied guys!) because I was having fun. Imagine someone gave you a test on your favorite book, TV show, or sports team, versus a boring subject test. You’d obviously do better on the test about the things you love! It will not take much effort when you love learning it.
They have memorized the types of questions during exams: Sometimes professors or teachers will not change the questions that come up on the exam, or the formatting for them. I ran into a similar situation when I was taking a calculus test. I had seen one exact same question on the practice exam, so I didn’t even have to check the answer or solve anything. I already knew the questions and the answers. The content of the exam is usually the same, especially during multiple choice or vocabulary quizzes. This may be the reason you looked over, but professors and teachers are lazier than you think.
They are lying: This is a harsh one, but it’s true. Sometimes people love to get praised for not studying and still doing well on a test, when they did the same thing you did. It’s even more obvious for bigger exams, like SATs and other cumulative final exams. There is quite a bit of content to remember, master, and practice. Even if you didn’t study, it’s probably not true. You may have mastered the material beforehand, or have some good practice tips and strategies.
And remember, don’t beat yourself up for a bad grade. And don’t compare yourself to someone who didn’t study. Look back and review; maybe it's time to implement some of those skills or new studying methods. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll have to take an exam you don’t need to study for!

hii long time no see. a lot has happened. most of it not good. HOWEVER I'm choosing to focus on yesterday and today. yesterday I had a good day. sang publicly in front of my new friends and was appreciated (I'm v conscious of myself) and today although I drowned in self hatred because I woke up extremely late in the morning,
in the evening, I attended 1 seminar for a uni for master's and 1 meeting - for the ngo I volunteer at. both were important and I did them both despite wanting to bail. they were productive and I'm glad I attended even if the outcome in both wasn't as positive as I'd hoped. what is important is that I showed up. and in my book, a win is a win.

kept my position in the diamond league on duolingo
kept up with my guitar lessons
kept up with my language journal
finallyyyyy went back to my flat!
im now back at my flat and enjoying being with my friends for the last few months of our tenancy! im still looking for masters courses but unfortunately the only new one ive found that i like is in the u.s and im not going all that way for a masters course, but its a shame bc it had so many facets of anthropology including archaeology as well and that sounds so so cool!!! its hard to find anthropology based courses that dont require an anthropology degree bc uh all i have to offer is a psychology one but hopefully i can find something interesting soon so i can begin applying to the ones i like!!

NYC, NY • Jan. 04, 2023
It’s a daily game of should I pursue this or that, should I go here or there, and truthfully I thought I would have more clarity than I started the year with. I read recently a quote that said “…get comfortable with the unknown”, and you’d think after so many births….I’d do very well with surrender but 🤷🏻‍♀️
send me all the good vibes. I have to start reading my book for book club, get to the library to return my “delinquent” books (yikes), I finished the last to-do list so I need to make the new one and I recently found out I’ll be stuck in a hotel while my apartment has renovations. I’m trying to be a good sport about it and see it as a staycation but we will see how I do on the day of!

Afternoon Study Shesh - 9/29/2022
Tumblr media
Today I decided to come to school today to get some study in before my class start in the morning. I wasn’t as productive as I wanted to be but I did email my bio professor about my midterm practical exam coming up, so yeah.. have to be prepare for that 😬
So after class I headed to Starbucks, like I always do to get some works done. My Starbucks order is never the same is always something different, like today I decided to get a cup of water instead of iced tea or coffee. I am trying to cut down my coffee intake that’s why. But if we talking about Starbucks food I usually get tomato & mozzarella on focaccia or bacon, egg, and gouda sandwich. Yeah they both good.
I am trying to get as much done as I can today or tomorrow bc on Sunday I am heading to Austin for Harry Styles’s concert!!! I have been counting down days for this moment. 3 more days left, guys!!!!!!! OMFG 😱
The playlist I’ve been blasting my ears to while studying is my EDM playlist which I should update it soon, but if you’re into EDM like me. My playlist is above from all the texts if you want to listen to it.
Two things I’m trying to get done today:
At least get half of my midterm practical review done
Going over my Psyc 3304 quizlet
Let see if I will get any of these done. I will update y’all soon
