I know some people might find it intrusive, but I really feel cared for and about when random people (who are not my mother) check in to see how I’m doing. I ran a complex psychopharm case by one of the consult staff and we spoke on the phone for about an hour, mostly about the case. But in the last few minutes, we talked about my orders and where I go next and I mentioned that there was some concern about impact on my health if I take my current orders. After a slight pause, she asked how my health was, and then immediately followed with the disclaimer. So we briefly talked about where I am and my meds and she mentioned that she would be happy to do a pharm consult for me in the (apparently likely) chance that I’m not able to keep seeing my current psychiatrist. This woman is a psychopharm genius. I would be so so so interested in hearing her thoughts.

She’s fine, she’s just psychotic. Sometimes people are just psychotic and you have to deal with it.

this in home child mental health services program wants the gender clinic to record lectures so they can use them to train new clinicians, and I said I would do one, even though I now have to somehow find time (and more difficult, space) to record an hour long zoom thing in. but we’ll get paid to do it which is always a bonus because usually I only get paid if it’s a school training. and then I got another email with a schedule for the fall of these mental health meetings/trainings and my name signed up to teach on the september slot even though I’ve literally never been to one before and did not volunteer myself. but I guess I am now doing those as well. and next week is the american psychological association conference and my presentation is not ready.
not sure when my job became like 1/3 training psychologists and making powerpoints but at least the other 2/3 is telling people how to force their landlords to follow the law and explaining probate court forms.

TW/CW Suicidal ideation
My psychiatrist: What things are you looking forward to that help combat your suicidal thoughts?
Me:
Psych: ... Anything else?
Me: Not really. I know some people think it's silly to care so much about them, but I figure if it keeps me around for one more day, that's what matters.
Psych: That's right. And I look forward to new shows, too. I'm glad you have that.

So I took some headshots for ERAS at the psychiatry national conference and boy, do I look like absolute crap. Prolonged sleep deprivation really destroyed my face aesthetics.
