I’m still thinking about Golden Wind eventho I should probably be doing schoolwork but whatever.. anyway today I’m writing about my favs and if they’re smart at school or not (including Giorno, Abbacchio, Bruno, Jotaro p3, and Kakyoin). There will be spoilers for pt 3, 4 and 5 in this post.

Giorno

Idk I feel like he doesnt really give a shit about school, like he goes to the lessons and stuff but he never puts his hand up and doesn’t do any extra work. Average grades I think; definitely takes biology as a subject, I also think he would take art as an elective and would be pretty good at it. Gets invited to parties but declines because he would rather stay home lmao.

Abbacchio

2 words: quiet kid. Has the most average lunch ever (ham and cheese sandwich) every day. Never gets anything from the canteen/tuckshop. I think he would be a gamer so I don’t think he would do any homework. Hes smart tho so maybe C’s and B’s for his grades. Also, no extra curricular activities for him lol.

Bruno

Definitely a popular sport kid. I think he would play soccer or maybe basketball (or netball lol). Despite being a popular kid, he’s also kinda the teachers pet. Like he puts his hand up in class and does the homework on time. B’s and A’s for him, would definitely do general maths and not specialist/methods. Maybe would do woodwork as an elective.

Jotaro

Did somebody say… skip!!! Fr only goes to school like 2 times a week, doesn’t do the homework, skips classes, smokes in the school toilets and beats ppl up at lunch because they looked at him funny. Absolute delinquent. Probably doesn’t even wear the school uniform sometimes. He’s really smart though so he would be getting A’s and B’s despite having such shit attendance. One of the days he went to school he did biology and when he listened in to the teacher he was like “damn this shit goes hard” and became a marine biologist (literally me).

Kakyoin

Straight A student u can’t tell me otherwise. He has no friends (☠️) so he studys and plays videogames in his spare time. Definitely is a nerd. Chose art and programming for his electives, does math methods and physics. I definitely see him being a game developer if he was in pt4, probably doing the art and design of games.

Which main characters interested me the most in JoJo, parts 1-4

Part 1

So to start off for pt. 1, I think Jonathan was kind of a generic protagonist. He learned some stuff, had some development, seemed like a genuinely decent human being who had most of the things he cared for taken from him (which sucks). But he isn’t particularly unique. So who would I say were interesting in this part?

Hands down — Speedwagon!!! By my own personal bias. Goodness, that guy is so random and comes out of nowhere to deliver random emotionally-charged narration. It’s like… what the heck?!?!! But it works!!

But if we are talking objectively, Zeppeli was an absolute hit. Jonathan was okay and all — not a bad person. Buuut Zeppeli absolutely stole the show in this part! Compared to his counterpart, at least!!

Part 2

This has been my favorite part, and I absolutely love the fanarts that come out of it + the energy + Joseph as the protagonist. But there is one note I wanted to make before starting this: I don’t have as much to say on Caesar Zeppeli, so I won’t add him here but it sucks he died because he & Joseph would’ve been an interesting duo?? And IDK, at first I didn’t like him but he really grew on me. It also sucked that the Zeppili’s line of descent doesn’t continue because they seemed so significant :/. That being said…

Joseph!!!! Oh my god, I love his goofy absurdism, the whole “Your next line will be…” schtick, and the fast-witted perceptiveness. I also liked the swap from Jonathan’s straight-laced approach to the quick-thinking trickster mind of his. He probably has the most infectious personality in the entire show. The smarts, the exuberance, the pulling off crazy things for the heck of pulling off crazing things — I missed that Joseph a lot in the next 2 parts!

Although the second character I find particularly interesting in this part is Lisa Lisa!! She’s just so badass, keeps her cool, and is always a step ahead from her pupils. It was a shame we couldn’t see her do anything cool because 1980s Japan was quite conservative and Araki wasn’t allowed to write a female character being able to fight & hold herself up in a battle .-.

Part 3

I should say that for part 3, I didn’t take as much interest in Jotaro (though I didn’t dislike him, per say). It seems they were going for a cool-type protagonist. One who is outwardly-inexpressive and could somehow outwit the bad guys at any turn & swoop in to save the day — not even breaking a sweat. It CAN and often DOES successfully look very cool, but comes at the expense of other characters. Like Joseph who isn’t able to show any of his cleverness from pt. 2 despite being so perceptive. Or Advol (who was underutilized for the most part) and Kakyoin (whose development felt utterly neglected). So the characters I favored from this part are 3 of our traveling companions rather than Jotaro or Joseph.

Polnareff — what with his flaws yet pretty stellar character development! A lot of care seemed to be put into writing him. Though he isn’t always the most likable person at times and makes a lot of mistakes, he has quite a bit of heart, does his best to improve, and makes it out the story a better person. He really held the show together. You feel it all — sometimes being frustrated wondering why he would do something so ridiculous, other times laughing at his goofy comedic relief moments, and then fully rooting him on. It’s such a wide range of emotions. (I hear pt. 5 does him pretty dirty tho, so it almost hurts to continue the series at this point??)

Muhammad Advol, as he had such a cool character design and seemed like a generally cool person! Like being quite sensible in a handful of scenarios compared to other characters!! It was a shame he basically ‘died’ 2 times T~T.

Kakyoin. I thought his stand was kinda neat too!! And again, he seemed like another relatively nice and sensible character!! A lot of the development he should’ve had was basically presented the episode he went off against Dio and died right after :/. It really makes me sad there because I think he was deprived of a few shining moments throughout our adventures, and his personal struggles maybe would’ve done better if they had been emphasized early on.

Part 4

I think in this part, I like the two deuteragonists within the main trio the most. I feel ehh on Josuke similarly to how I felt in pt. 3 with Jotaro, like that he’s okay but some parts don’t vibe well with me. Pt. 4 has Okuyasu who is my favorite of the “himbo duo” (as I love to call them!!) and Koichi.

Firstly, Okuyasu besides Speedwagon has got to be my favorite!! He’s not the brightest but he’s absolutely so goofy and wholesome! And honestly, who isn’t a sucker for a wholesome character who might not be the smartest but brings joyful moments :D. He also gives me friendly neighborhood uncle vibes for some reason LOL.

And then there is Koichi, a nice and normal kid who’s thrown into this mess but really grows from it! It’s so cool watching him develop, in a way somewhat comparable to Polnareff being the spotlight of pt. 3 (in that he has quite a lot of heart, a surprise degree of courage and willpower, and strength from a place you’d underestimate). Though IG he’s also somewhat like the “Speedwagon” of things (shows up randomly, starts passionately narrating everything on screen, very concerned about everyone/thing).
