3. Arya’s Ned Stark Cosplay. I love everything about the dress, texture, cut, color, it’s perfect, i love her fancy, baller ass furs that match it, but above all i love the shoulders on the leather doublet, the silhouette brings the whole look together, I want it on my body now.

2. Rhaenyra’s post-birth dress. I think the arryn inspired colors look amazing together, the fabric on the sleeves, the pattern on the top, the whole cut is just really amazing. i want it so bad, it’s so pretty (it also doesn’t clash with her hair, which is amazing considering some of the other choices they’ve made with targ hair lol)

1. Sansa’s purple flower dressing gown. It is my dream to own a replica of this dress. the colors, the sleeves, the front part, the pattern, i want to marry this dress. i want to be buried in this dress. i want to be rich so i can buy the replica on etsy for this dress but i cannot justify dropping like $600 on a single item of clothing even though i would wear it all day every day.

The cave has no shower or bath. They dunk their heads in standing water pools like MAYBE once a month. None of their clothing has ever seen a laundromat but it has seen a lot of blood and sweat and motorbike oil. I mean it's canon they literally smell like corpses so strongly that flies are attracted to it.

They're all barefoot when they sleep right??? To hang by the pipes from their stupid little bat feet??? I would simply abduct all of their footwear and blast it with UV light and lysol spray until those FUCKING SHOES were no longer actual chemical warfare hazards.

chit-chattin about voiced protagonist and pre-war stuff

i'm not big on the whole voiced fallout protagonist thing, don't get me wrong, it was an attempt to ape mass effect and that format had its problems anyway, but i think the actors are charismatic enough that i don't hate it on principle. the biggest problem arises in the 'four buttons for all options' speech system. to account for your psuedo-shep, npc and companion dialogue has to be scaled way, way back and be more expository and functional. there are a reason companions are far and away the most popular aspect of the game, and i'm saying that as somebody big in on a particular one because they conjured an interesting guy by what may be total accident. they get to be characters and have a distinct voice. everybody else either has to tell you, upfront, what their deal is or hide it behind a speech check so obvious that you can infer it yourself. the game isn't devoid of them, cricket for example, but there aren't too many

but i think the biggest missed opportunity, more than the valentine kellogg brain thing, is that the game picks up a person mired in a regressive, stagnant system, somebody who would know it intimately (lawyer) or enforce it through violence (soldier), dumps them in a future where these fixed points of their reality no longer exist, everybody dead, and forgets that this may in fact be an interesting vein to dig out. you're a soldier and the war you fought in killed BILLIONS of people and warped the face of the earth forever and, unlike the ghouls, it's totally fresh for you! and it sort of doesn't come up? you get a couple of offhand reactions but that's about it. your character isn't a fish out of water, they're somebody who got off at the wrong bus stop and has to stop a passing stranger for directions. oh wow, only center for learning left in the city is a ten foot cube in the baseball stadium teaching basic literacy, huh? I saw MIT at its peak two days ago! bye! you could blindfold anybody, tape them to a chair, spin them at centrifuge speed and make them throw darts with their mouth and i bet you nine out of ten times they'd hit something fascinating with that basic premise. let's try it with this guy. let's see here. 'find missing baby'. oh god oh shit it's john bethesda oh f

Spray paint has very quickly become my favorite medium I've ever worked with, which is unfortunate because the fumes make me so sick that I have to keep peeling off the respirator to vomit in the bushes as I work. That's part of the fun though. I like a tool that tries to kill you as you wield it <3

So you don't know that Cicero made several speeches saying that as a young man Mark Anthony would wear his hair long, dress up in feminine clothing and whore himself out like a prostitute (Fun fact, Nero grew his hair out long to resemble him, because he was his grandfather). Even as he grew up he wore extremely short tunics to show off his perfectly shaved, muscular legs, which Cicero probably envied, because Cicero had varicose veins and would undergo cosmetic surgeries to have them removed. Those insults are probably why Mark Anthony had Cicero killed.

...The thing about Mark Anthony being a drunk are 100% true tho, he literally came into the Senate drunk multiple times, once even with puke all over his white toga.

been thinking about what The Glass Menagerie would be like if it was set in 2023.

Laura's life would probably be the most dramatically improved. She could deal with her social anxiety by just. Making friends online. She could have a discord boyfriend. She could find a job or get a degree online. She would have a tumblr blog called "blueroses" with the title "My Glass Menagerie" that was just pictures of her glass figures and occasionally an audio post with a song from one of her dad's records (or cassettes, or CDs, or whatever).

Amanda...honestly there's like a 50/50 chance she wound wind up in a pyramid scheme, considering the whole "selling magazine subscriptions" thing. But I feel like she'd still worry about her kids finding their place in the world. She'd worry about Laura not spending enough time outside, maybe she'd have some reservations about finding Laura a husband IRL. Maybe she'd get onto Tom for being on that damn phone so much.

For Tom, in this au i'm imagining him still working his minimum-wage job, but rather than writing poems on shoeboxes he's got a blog or something to post them on. Maybe even a niche following. Honestly not much of his life would change, because the whole "working a dead-end job, living with my family, desperate to go out on my own" thing is uh. Pretty timeless. Even when he leaves at the end (we're assuming the events of the play still happen as they originally did, even if the circumstances are different) it's not quite as sad, because Amanda and Laura have a better chance at supporting themselves than women would have back then.

Jim's a weird one because I feel like his life would also stay the same, except since we're setting this in 2023 he DEFINITELY has a self-help/positivity/motivational instagram. Wannabe influencer vibes. Despite the fact that he is working at the same place Tom is, but higher up the chain (like a manager or something). Dude totally has a podcast.

Nothing needs to change with Mr. Wingfield. People still work for telephone companies and run out on their families.

The fact that social media would exist in this AU does allow for some interesting commentary. Maybe Tom has a twitter where he posts his poems? Maybe Laura got cyberbullied in high school? How would the added visibility and connection to the world affect the Wingfields, whose suffering is largely due to how isolated they are in the original play? How would the lessened limitations on women in the workplace today compared to the 20s-30s affect the plot?

(Projecting my own interests here but I also think she would relate to Bocchi the Rock. Puking on the floor on your first day of typing class 🤝 performing your first concert in a cardboard box and regularly climbing into trash cans.)

Ugh I hate being on my period. The lethargy and cramps and the nausea are all just so awful and I hate it so much. This current period isn’t even ~that bad~ but it still sucks. My one in January tho was so bad I thought I was actually going to pass out and I like couldn’t stop shaking.

Luckily i have a gyno appointment for next week, and while I partly want birth control for boy purposes I also hope I can find something that makes my periods suck a little bit less. I briefly tried the pill once several years ago but I felt at the time that it did weird things to my mood and I was terrible at taking it the same time every day. But im def anxious about the commitment involved with some of the more low maintenance like the implant or an iud. And of course im nervous about all the side effects. I obvi want just the positive side effects and none of the negative ones but all the info online is just like “it effects everyone differently! 🤷‍♀️ So just try it and see what it does to your body!”

Which like sounds hellish. But I guess what else is there but to try things and deal
