Infinity Train Book Two took a full rewatch to grow on me but it grew on me a LOT
let's just say that the mental process it took for me to love Lake and want to protect them at all costs is the same process it took for me to be able to think back to myself as a teenager, aka an edgy little jerk who either wants to die or burn down the whole world, and say "well, that was a kid, don't judge your kid self as you would an adult" instead of wanting to strangle my 14 y.o self
anyway here's a slightly older Lake wearing punk outfits including my own leather jacket
the Aperture joke is from this post btw

Reminder for punks or anyone wanting to be punk:
Punk isn't all about enamel pins, leather, and spikes
There's a lot of softer areas of punk that don't have to do with the way you dress
Supporting public libraries, independent gardening, shopping small, donating to charities, making your own stuff, (stealing from big businesses), and basically any form of environmentalism are all very punk things
I myself don't dress punk, but I listen to the music and have the same ideologies. I am just as punk as the people kicking cops and shaving their heads.
Punk fashion is grungy, punk ideology is kind. Remember this.

What does make a human punk?
Listening to punk music? Well there are "punks" wno are nazi and listen to it, and people who are not punks and listen it
And if I listen not ONLY punk music? Am I "not punk enoth"?
Maybe, punk is about ideology? Na-ah, punks say that it is not, and you MUST listen the music. Also, punks are very different. Like, crust punk and hope punk, come on. Different main ideas
Maybe being punk is abowt style?
Bich, if anyone say it out loud, "true-punks" will eat them alife
For me, you are punk if you are punk. It's vibes. It's ideology - partly. Style - partly. Music - partly. It's about feeling "the taste" of being punk. About your feelings. Like gender: you are not boy because you have dick and not girl because of vagina. You're what you want to be because you FEEL IT with your soul.

PUNKS PLS HELP
Hi! Im kind of a puppy punk (i hope people actually use that term lmao), and im having trouble finding punk music. I've already got a pretty good amount of riot girl (the genre, not the band) on my playlist but i want to diversify it! Im just really frustrated, because every time i try to find more punk bands they're either pop punk, not punk AT ALL, or just not really my style. If the punk community on tumblr could give me some band/song recommendations I'd really appreciate it! I won't be too picky, but if you want specifics, im looking especially for anti-cop, anti-capitalist, anti-nazi, pro-queer, pro-jew, pro-cripple bands/songs. I'll link the playlist under the cut too :)
Playlist! PLS HELP AJSJDN

was very interested by your punk DIY posts, and was wondering perhaps if you have any tutorials/general advice on how to make embroidered patches? i'd love to get into that, honestly
(and also i am so sorry about your cat; i know losing a beloved pet is really hard)
Ok so I'm using old jeans for a lot of things but I tend to save the black ones for patches
Cut out a piece of jeans a bit bigger than the area where you want to add the patch. The side you want to embroider is up to you but I like to embroider the inside of the jeans rather than the outside
Fold the edges back and sew them with normal thread you'd use on buttons. This prevents the edges of the patch from fraying too quickly
Draw the thing you want to embroider on it
For letters and details I also use buttons thread. I have zero knowledge of actual embroidery techniques and I mostly do straight lines
For anything with volume and color I use embroidery thread. It doesn't have to be the expensive stuff. Use a needle with a larger eye for this cause the thread is larger
(I didn't use the light brown thread in the end)
Once again I'm doing straight lines, except now they're next to each other, to create a shape with volume. Stay inside the lines of your drawing and don't go over them
When you're covering the larger areas (like the back of the cat here) it tends to look better if you vary the length of the lines and criss-cross them. It doesn't have to look perfect, perfection's for machines not for human beings
The back is gonna look chaotic as hell but it doesn't matter!
I like to outline things by re-tracing the drawing with button thread to add some details (like the whiskers here)
So yeah here's a small patch with my kitty
Only thing left to do is to sew it on the vest with button thread
He feels right at home here
I hope this helped!

Reminder that you cannot have punk music and punk fashion without punk ideology behind it.
If you're bigoted and punk, you're not punk.
If you're transphobic or LGBT exclusive at all, you're not punk.
Punk is a demographic that only exists because some leftist losers decided making music about killing bigots and or capitalism would be awesome, don't forget their roots.
