Part 1 of my mending series! I embroidered the edge of the right pocket!

This alone took a while so I'm definitely taking my time with this project lol. But I'm making progress :)

I think I'll use browns or maybe blues for the left pocket for asymmetry and then next I'll tackle the waist band. Idk yet we'll see

Part 2 of my mending series! 🌞🌿

The left pocket!!

I changed my mind and I did the same colors for the this pocket as well. There was a hole in the denim under the hem of the pocket but not in the lining, so I inserted a piece of cotton fabric in between the layers and stitched it all the way through both layers with gray embroidery thread. It looks kinda like a rain cloud :) that was a happy accident

I also used that same gray thread and mended some small worn areas close to the seams, there's a lot so I'll need to do this way more all over the pants.

I found a worn spot in the same area underneath the right pocket, so I mended that as well with more gray thread. The very same spot. But I had to go underneath the whole pocket lining on the *inside* of the pants because there was no hole I could just insert fabric through

These are my dad's pants so the fact that I can't do flower embroidery or moss embroidery or bugs or funky colorful nonsense patterns (beyond the green embroidery I did for the pockets) is KILLING ME

But I'm really proud of my progress!! I'm dreading the knee holes though but I'll burn that bridge when I get to it. I think I'll do the back pockets next <3

[Image ID: the first two images show the embroidered hem of the left pocket of a light blue pair of jeans. The colors of the embroidery are the same as i used on the right pocket in part one in the same pattern: dark green and light green, alternating between the two colors with exactly one inch sections of each color. Right under the hem of the pocket closer to the left side seam of the pants, is a large hole about two inches wide and less than an inch long. The white pocket lining shows underneath and there are still white threads intact in the hole, though they're stitched down with gray embroidery thread stitches. I stitched beyond where the hole as well, on both sides and under it, to reinforce the entire area and give it extra strength. All the stitches are in a downward direction from the hem of the pocket so the mend looks like a rain cloud.

The next two images are the mends on the left side seam of the pants, where there were small worn spots really close to where the seam is. The worn spots are covered with the same gray thread I used for the previous mend, these mends are not consistent and only cover small areas. They're hard to see.

The last image shows the mend under the right pocket, its in the same spot as the left one right underneath the pocket hem, except theres no hole, just a subtle weak spot in the fabric that I reinforced with similar gray vertical stitches. End ID]
