im rewatching season 2 while I clean and my mom came in when dustin was talking to ted wheeler to find mike. as she’s going in about how a kid in the ‘80s apparently wouldn’t say “son of a bitch” to an adult, steve shows up with his roses and bmw and tight jeans and my mom was like “oh wow, who is that?”.

i said “steve” all dreamily (cause duh hes dreamy) and she went in on this story about her ex-boyfriend from ‘84 named steve who ran track and was on the gymnastics team and every girl had a crush on him. my mom was on the track team, too and they dated for 2 years until they broke up because he’s gay. apparently, he was a great dancer, an even better kisser, and had the best ass she had ever seen.

tldr; my mom dated alternate universe steve harrington and im just now finding out about it

Yeah they would! Singing would probably be the highlight of it though bc of their connection through sweet voice BUT there’d definitely be some sort of elaborate dance with shapeshifting- likely into their “true forms” but mostly with whatever they feel suits best for the occasion.

the finale of it would be partners connecting via mind link, causing a sort of mini-personal hub where those courted can feel their partner’s emotions and such. :)

I mentioned that being close to one being make it easier to read them empathically so to be courted would cause a full on link.

And unfortunately Benrey can’t do that last bit bc he’s a runt :( of course if Ben was to do so with another one of his species, they could allow him to feel what they feel* but they wouldn’t be able to get a read on him.

*also it is a matter of each party allowing eachother to share their mind so a person couldn’t project themselves onto another if they didn’t want to. That falls more to SV with its ability to not only show emotion but to project different feelings onto other beings

Something that is moving me about this IWTV adaptation is that... if you only watched the movie or read only the first book it may elude you since Louis' pov is so full of grief and bitterness, but the thing is, Louis loves Lestat. He desires him, is head over heels in love, as a matter of fact.

Often I see Louis being portrayed as long-suffering, resigned in his relationship with Lestat and while yes, they are toxic (lmao), they often fight and hurt each other and are quite terrible to each other, but their relationship is not only defined by misery.

Louis likes to be with Lestat, he enjoys his company, lights up when they are together and by memory I can remember at least two characters (Khayman and Amel) commenting how deeply Louis loves Lestat and how very obvious it is. And the fact the show is actually showing this to us from the beginning, that love was actually always there despite everything actually means so much to me

hello sweet friend! this isn't an annoying ask at all! i'm so happy you reached out and i'm more than happy to share some resources + tips that helped me start on my own gif making journey!

lots of info + babbling below the cut!

first, THIS is the initial tutorial i used to get started. you will need Photoshop (or an equivalent, though i will admit i'm not familiar with the other applications) and a computer - and that's pretty much it! i know it can seem overwhelming at first because it's so much information but i promise this tutorial has absolutely everything you'll need and is laid out in a really straightforward way!

second, if you're planning on using the video import method as opposed to screencapping, like i do, you'll need video files. i don't know how to use websites like MEGA or any other file downloader so i got all my videos from THIS youtube channel (which i feel most everyone in the gallavich fandom is already familiar with, lmao) - but the quality is still really really good! 1080p should be all you need. you can either download an application to your computer that converts the files via URL or you can use a website (THIS one is really good) OR you can do what i do sometimes when i realize i'm missing a scene (because some videos that are age restricted [see: dock scene] often won't be convertible via applications and websites) which is screen record on your computer or phone and then plop the file wherever you need it - whatever works best for you!

third, when it comes to adjustments, coloring, editing, etc. it's going to take a lot of trial and error but you WILL get there! my favorite adjustments are: curves, levels, hue/saturation, color balance, selective color, vibrance, and sometimes black & white. my favorite filters are the smart sharpen feature and noise.

for SMART SHARPEN my settings are:

amount: 500%, radius: 0.4px, reduce noise: 10%, remove: gaussian blur

THEN a second adjustment using:

amount: 10%, radius: 10px, reduce noise: 10%, remove: gaussian blur

then for NOISE i usually add 4% noise, uniform, monochromatic! admittedly i just recently started using this filter but i think i've found my sweet spot! feel free to play around with this one. for example, black & white with high level noise gives old movie vibes - experiment, experiment, experiment!

The setting design for Baldur’s Gate 3 seems to be inspired by the Mediterranean based on the nature of the ‘surface’ as well as the architecture of the city. Obviously that take is super generalising considering all the different countries that make up the Mediterranean, but still.

Also the game seems to be set during the summer based on the dates that can be found under the dialogue tab (at least from what I can remember).

So I wonder how warm it must have been for everyone being on the road under the hot sun, ugh and how stuffy the tents must have felt in the morning when the sun came out.

There's many reasons for the mess that is Lestat and Louis' relationship, the most glaring of them being their abismal lack of communication with each other of course, and the show also adds the fact that Lestat doesn't seem able to understand that being a vampire does not free Louis from racism. Him being lived his entire life as a white man and inability to understand how being a black man in a racist society affects Louis is something that puts a big strain in their relationship.

But I think something else the show adds to their dynamic is that Lestat is much older than Louis here, when in the books he was only a little older - meaning that this Lestat has over a hundred years, probably spent a lot of these years in relative solitute, and he is much more... dlvorced from his humanity, per say.

I don't think he understands why holding into his humanity means so much to Louis because it has been long since he was turned so everything Louis cares so deeply about - his human family, his job, his role in society likely looks like a blip in time for him - meaningless, things that are always changing. Not really important. A hobby as he says, because their immortality and the potencial of a thousand hundred nights together with Louis is what means the world to him.

Meanwhile, Louis hasn't fully grasped what means for him being a vampire, being immortal, and he still clings so hard to his human life that he is hurt when Lestat just shrugs his problems off, because these thing are very important to him, so I don't think at this point these two are capable o being in the same page.
