Brad Callahan, Quarterback

So Brad, instead of Max, being the Nighthawks QB is one of the more interesting minor details in Yellow Jacket. Of course a lot of time has passed since the timelines diverged, so it's perfectly possible that Max's family moved, or that the try-outs played out differently. But also could there be the Implication(TM) that Max is, you know... dead?

I highly doubt that a version of Nerdy Prudes played out in this timeline, since it's hard to see Steph and Pete going along with anything Grace says now that they're free of the Witch Wood and her reign of summer camp terror. But we still have Grace herself, who in this timeline possesses both untainted prudishness and an alliance with Little Jerry, and is already a bit mad with power by the time their senior year starts. And it's hard to imagine a version of Max who doesn't hit on Grace any chance he gets. So what if, to punish him for his carnal desires, the Grace of Nightmare Time 2 lured Max out into the woods (just as, a couple of branches over, she had him lured to the Waylon House) and let the Axe Man do his work on her behalf? Leaving Brad Callahan to step forward and torment Hannah with his enlarged ego and Justin Bieber haircut.

I know there's a lot of what-ifs in this, but we can't deny that the Max of the Nightmare Time 2 timeline is conspicuous in his absence. It just makes sense to me, that the Grace of Abstinence Camp would also rain demonic justice down on Max and call it divine. And I love the idea that Max and Grace are another pattern that echoes out across the web of timelines, like some twisted inversion of Paulkins or Lautski. Paul and Emma will always find each other, as will Steph and Pete. Lex and Ethan will always love each other and it will always be doomed. And Grace Chasity will oh-so-righteously send Max Jagerman to his demise. Even if we don't see it happen.

It's just so fucked up and therefore so very Them.

Books like Queen B and The Nanny Affair/Surrender have different types of cringe. Queen B was 100% cringe, absolutely no denying that whatsoever, but it didn’t take itself seriously at all, which actually makes it kinda good. It was very obviously written to be satirical and the cringe, while highly present, isn’t as potent.

The Nanny Affair and Surrender are the polar opposite. They take themselves completely seriously and that combined with how cringey they are make them a major oof for lack of a better term.

To Be or Not to Be: a Valentine's Event

I know there are several Valentine's events already, however some people reached out that they enjoyed the "not to be" part of my Valentine's event. Plus, I already had the idea to use conversation hearts for this year's TBONTB event and didn't trust myself to remember it for next year lol

The Event runs from February 11-19; however I will reblog early entries as they're recieved. So feel free to think of this event as running from now to February 19th.

Guidelines:

Entries must use (or be based on) one of the above prompts.

Entries that simply mention conversation/candy hearts will also be included

You may use any prompt for either "to be" or "not to be" (for example: you can use "hell no" as a "to be" prompt even though it's listed as "not to be")

the "or" category I added this year is based more on traditional candy hearts and can be used for either "to be" or "not to be"

Choices Art x Midnights (Part 1/?)

Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters and the titles of their respective "albums." All art scenes and "album" titles (+ Hana's tracklist, which are some of TRR Book One's chapters) belong to Pixelberry. This edit is based on Taylor Swift's Midnights and therefore the original album cover concept belongs to her and her team.

Guess who's back with another TS album cover edit! After seeing Taylor Swift's Midnights album cover, I knew I wanted to try making a version of it with some of Choices' art scenes! It's also been awhile since I posted anything related to Choices, so here you go!

I also made another version where the background is dark (I got inspired by this tweet). You can find it under the cut!

Fun facts that would probably shock the Choices fandom right out of their skins:

Teens and young adults that "look older" than they actually are exist.

Full-grown adults that "look younger" than they actually are exist.

People in their thirties and above that do an undergrad education at college exist.
