Honestly I think it depends on the author. Like I'd never ask say, Naoki Urasawa about anything sexual related to Johan, or Horikoshi about if Spinner has two cocks.

this black lotus / pillbox cartel war has been absolutely spicy.

you have black lotus telling pbc that theyre going to move the cocaine lab out of mirror park because they have a hard stance on the stuff and they would let pbc know that where they get it moved to. they just want it out of their area.

fast forward to pbc going to war with bl because they feel like they cant bring money in and do what the group does best. then nothing happens for days until theres 4 black roses left at bl's compound. larry, bl's leader, ends up selling them and advertising them on twitter for the fuck of it because he's a troll.

bl then start picking off random pbc members caught slacking and removing body parts off the members. (larry took an eye from someone and cut someone's pinky off fucking yakuza style just to name a few. they've shot pretty much all of the ones they kidnap too)

then, bl wake up to find a severed head of a random mirror park resident at the doors to the club house meaning that pbc jumped the compound wall to put it there. they eventually take the head and deliver it to the pbc house with a letter saying that emile, pbc leader, needs to show his face. same night, bl get the jump on a group of pbc members, and emile gives himself up to protect the one that larry had, and he eventually shot after emile was gone.

the group eventually take emile to a random bumfuck camping spot up north. they talk a bunch, emile telling larry they are done going after mirror park residents and they would just go after bl, and it eventually led to pbc finding him, but watching what bl was doing to him from the hills around the camping area. jax, SIC of bl, carves a lotus in emile's chest and larry executes emile afterwards. it leads into a full on shoot out that bl easily won with just larry going down.

larry then tells the group to go after pbc harder now, but pbc hasn't been seen since the emile incident. the allfather is out for blood now.

the same time the emile stuff was happening, the cocaine lab was found by the detectives via a tip from someone, bl assuming it's someone close to pbc, or pbc themselves, and theyre making it look like bl are snitches.

during the war they got told shoguns might be doing something to help pbc too and if it happens, bl might be getting ktb involved too.
