been meaning to ask how would you do a fully quadrupedal human or humanoid

Basically i think a quadrupedal humanoid should just be a baboon person, if you want to go the primate route. i've left tails off these altered humans, and left their faces short, but baboons really have amazing anatomy for walking on all fours but still having dexterous hands. the most important thing to remember is that most quadrupeds have front and back limbs that are more equal in length. the shape of the spine is a little more dependent on how fast you want them to run, so check out the spines of lots of other mammals for reference, like horses, cheetahs, raccoons, etc.

Skeleton question! To what extent could quadrupedal dinosaurs pronate their forelimbs? None? A little? More than you’d think? Do we know?

I got to wondering after seeing a bunch of parasaurolophus art with their forelimbs fully pronated and thought, “that can’t be right, can it?” I tried looking up skeleton photos and got none the wiser, what’s the deal?

they couldn't! All of those drawings are very wrong! their palms should be facing each other!

Inu must be the happiest robot in the world, judging by the way it gambols and frolicks about. This quadrupedal robot has an elastic-actuated spine, allowing it to bend its back as it runs, like a real animal. The spine is a fibreglass leaf spring actuated by a belt that runs over and under it, passing around a fixed sprocket at the front. Two brushless motors in the rear pull on the ends of the belt, pitching the spine up or down. Vertebrae connecting the belt to the leaf spring limit the amount it can bend. Its flexible spine helps Inu run faster.
