We got there in time to help put horses out. I was told not to put Emmett out yet because he was being a dick and kicking the door, so I ended up putting out some of the other favorite horses.

Poor Red limped super pitifully and Teacherlady was like "yeah she has a small abscess and she's being extremely dramatic about it," and I was like "oh so the abscess is killing her but when she tore all the muscles in her legs that was fine apparently?"

Horses can be just like people at times, seriously.

I brought Buff and Shark out and Buff nearly killed me by trying to trample me to get away from the parked tractor. I don't know why TODAY it was terrifying, but it was.

Shark was absolutely oblivious to all of it. Look at how oblivious he is. I love that poor stupid horse that Princess is/has absolutely ruined with her overtraining.

I got Quattro. He was very stubborn at first, but. Loosened up quite a bit as we went, and we actually ended up doing a fair bit of canter work today. He also was able to really do some great brainwork, touch the cones while I was riding him, and then alternate between cones. I was super proud of him.

We also have a new horse named Sammy. Sammy is a weird case: he came here all the way from Arkansas, because some older relative of Teacherlady asked for her to train him as a favor. Originally she asked for, oh, just a month of training. Now it has extended to over winter and "maybe you can find someone to sell him to."

Sammy is a weird mix. He's like a quarab, almost? A quarterhorse/arab. He was very chill until they tried to take him outside, and he nearly murdered Teacherlady on the way to his pen for today.

Also the jennies? Apparently their owner is out of state and the person who takes care of his horses uh. Hates them. Apparently one of them in particular is a "troublemaker." Their names are Claire and... Juniper? Jill? I am so bad with names. So they're only here for their weekend.

People are also weird. Everything is weird.

Some pics from our last western dressage show! We got good scores that I was happy with. A 62% in intro test 1 and a 64% in intro test 3. The weather wasn’t the best and the arena was a swamp so I was happy taking home a 2nd and 4th place ribbon.
