Updates!
Couture went home on Monday.
He was the last of our available birds, so only our keepers remain.
By the fifth, at the latest, we will have the funds to get our vaccines, but we are going to hold off on looking for the hens for our five odd boys out because the actual relocation is happening faster than I expected!
I found a bed frame, and Dear Hubby had a box spring sent.
Internet will be run to the new property on the 19th, and we hope to have enough of our stuff moved over to start sleeping there by the end of the month.
We will be housing the flock in a quarantine set up while the buildings are moved over to the new property, and it will be much easier to house five pair and five bachelors than five pair, five bachelors, and any number of birds in quarantine.
And while pairs and bachelors are housed in their own enclosures, the bachelors won't really have the opportunity to make nuisances of themselves.
I will not be doing the usual lives on TikTok, as I simply will not have the time, but I will post shorts as I'm able.
Updates are posted to our Patreon every time a purchase is made for the birds at minimum, and those updates are visible to everyone.
Other updates will be posted as I have time and energy.
See you when I see you. ^v^

Fashion Friday:   Sixty Drawings of Haute Couture
The is the final post by Intermedia Arts MFA student Christine Westrich who spent the the entire Spring 2022 semester mining the primary resources of Special Collections and the American Geographical Society Library as inspirations for creating new fashion designs. It has been a rich and engaging experience. Here are Christine’s culminating observations:
Haute couture never fails to impress on Anna Wintour's red carpet of the Met Gala. Just a few days ago, the Spring 2022 theme of Gilded Glamour posed a great atelier challenge:  to dress in themed opulence or to curb the nines in restraint of today's pandemic/war/climate calamities?
A breeze through the runway photos show that Instagram won the day with celebrities donning nothing short of costume ecstasy with Billie Eilish's feathered décolleté by Gucci and Megan Thee Stallion's winged caplets by Moschino. Lizzo's wondrous caftan by Thom Browne brings thoughts to the late André Leon Talley, the lovely protege of Diana Vreeland and the man behind Vogue elegance.
These styles are orchestrated for their line, shape, and color. While ostentatious, they are cleverly choreographed for the camera. The monochromatic pinks of Valentino and unfussed Tom Ford silhouettes give homage to the sculpturist images of Robert Mapplethorpe who often chided his muse Patti Smith to deconstruct her flair so he could capture a timeless polaroid.
Whether the dress statement of Mayor Eric Adams to end gun violence in the wake of the NYC subway shootings, or Hillary Clinton's ode to Clara Barton and Harriet Tubman, clothing is a means to influence, to power, a means of manipulation as described by John Berger in 1972.
Over this Spring term, I completed sixty fashion drawings under my design moniker "chch", which arouse just such drama; the dominance and brawn of past civilizations inspired in illustrative gowns for our modern era. From Egyptian gods to Middle Age saints to pre-common-era princes, these designs challenged my thoughts on the exploitation of dress.
Daily, we face the decision of what to wear, considering how we may look walking to Colectivo, sitting on a work stool or looking back to an admirer. These choices reveal our inner playwright and expose us on life's stage of these non-quarantine days... coquettish, audacious, or perhaps hiding in plain sight.
And should such an extraordinary Met Gala invitation arrive on my doorstep, I would gladly construct one of my sixty costumes to wear and proudly compete in its outsider aesthetic against the pomp of a Milan fashion Maison. Of course, some days it feels best to give up on this visual communication problem of couture, of being under the lights—and in this case—I find my authentic self by joining society via the old-fashioned telephone.
A very special thanks to Senior Lecturer Kathleen Donnelly who provided me with expert costume construction know-how while emphasizing stage awareness and no-nonsense grit, both earned through years of theatre productions.
Thank you to the UWM Head of Special Collections Max Yela for his impeccable fashion taste and to Special Collections Department Manger Alice Ladrick for her kindred conversation on all things Milwaukee.

i think the reason the MET gala has been so boring these past 2 years isnt so much because of the quarantine and themeing, but because of the galas new “exposure”.
the MET has always been a big deal it isnt called “the superbowl of fashion” for no reason. but the past few years the met gala has seen a lot of exposure online. its not just followed by fashion informed people. its followed by us! the hoodie wearing plebians!! people who know NOTHING about fashion talk about the MET gala online. my fucking roommates talk about the MET and i couldnt get them to list 5 fashion designers if i put a gun to their head! the thing about this is that brands noticed that if they dress a celebrity for the MET, its better than any billboard on the planet. And the MET gala stopped being an event for celebrities and designers to show off and make the craziest thing they can, it became a sales pitch. Because nobody is in the market for an haute couture gown, but most girls like a pretty black dress. And well, HoYeon Jung from squid game just wore one thats in stores right now! better see if its left in stock

Easy DIY Clothing Hacks to Freshen Your Wardrobe
Tumblr media
This time spent at home has proven to be a total DIY renaissance. Never before have we witnessed such an influx of homemade breads, newly woven baskets, and self hair-trimming on our feeds. It seems that everyone is leaning into developing new skills and being super proud to let others know "hey this was actually not so hard after all." Call it bragging (I'm looking at you, banana bread) or call it community, either way, there is something in the air. Fashion simply refuses to be left out of this movement, and with good reason! There are so many ways to take an existing piece in your closet, exert just a little effort, and make a huge impact. It's like, next-level shopping your closet.
More info Werbegeschenken und Werbeartikel
Global style influencer Brittany Xavier has turned her DIY hacks into content, debuting this twin-set hack on her TikTok account early into quarantine. "It's been cool to experiment, to upstyle and re-shop my closet. I especially love this DIY idea because of its little waste of fabric," says Xavier.
Leslie Gomez, founder of Tryna B Studios, started altering vintage garments to give them more contemporary cuts in order to fit her petite frame. Her upcycled creations have gained popularity in the insta-sphere who can't get enough of her reworked versions of '90s sportswear staples such as Polo Sport and Tommy Hilfiger sweats and Coogi-esque sweaters she makes into sets. Gomez shares a much easier DIY to up your sock game during this time. After all, socks are the new shoes these days.
Meaghan Mena, the owner and patch designer of Patch Ya Later, has mastered the art of patches. Her vintage-inspired designs are the nostalgic touch for the summer we all could use right now. We love patches as an easy way to make something your own and her latest customizable designs will take your personalization up a notch. Once you've got your adornments together, pour yourself a glass of wine and have yourself a little patch party.
Sasha Iglehart, former fashion editor at Glamour, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar, started A Shirt Story by customizing gently worn mens shirting sourced from thrift stores. By replacing the hum-drum buttons with sparkly ones and chopping off the collars and hems, she's given new life to shirts that would have been otherwise overlooked, or even worse, discarded. Here, she shows us how you can do the same by breathing new life into an old army jacket with these simple swaps.
Laura Pifer started her blog Trash to Couture in an effort to show others that so many fashion items can easily be made at home, not mass-produced. From polished homemade espadrilles to impressive interchangeable bag straps, she proves that DIY projects can look just as good as manufactured pieces. In an easy 5-minute hack, she reworks a chunky chain necklace and a silk scarf into a throw-on-and-go summer top.

Flower Delivery in Manly Sydney
Flower delivery in Manly Sydney is easy and convenient. All you need to do is swipe your Opal card on trains, buses and public ferries.
Catching the ferry over to Manly is an adventure in itself, it feels like you’re visiting a little island away from Sydney. The walk to the main beach is stunning and the Corso overflows with boutiques and restaurants.
Manly to Spit Bridge Walk
The Manly to Spit Bridge Walk is a popular coastal hike that offers stunning harbour views and secluded beaches. It's best done in the cooler months and requires a good level of fitness. The hike is around 10km long and can be completed in about three hours, depending on the pace and number of breaks. You should bring a water bottle and comfortable trail shoes for the hike. You'll find a snack and drinks kiosk at Clontarf Reserve, about an hour into the hike from Spit Bridge.
Several swimming beaches are located along the walk, including Clontarf Beach, Forty Baskets Beach and Castle Rock. If you're feeling refreshed, you can take a dip at these beaches or swim at the lifeguard patrolled Manly Beach. During the hike, you'll also pass beautiful rocky headlands and walk through rainforest areas. Make sure to wear long loose layers and factor 30 sunscreen. The hike will also involve many stairs and steep hills.
Q Station
Q Station (formerly North Head Quarantine Station) is an extraordinary site of heritage and environmental significance, set within the stunning hectares of Sydney Harbour National Park. It offers stylish accommodation, unique group activities, restaurants and conference venues.
Spacious deluxe accommodation rooms look out over the Australian native bushland or spectacular Sydney Harbour. A heritage wharf, picturesque picnic areas and a private beach are all part of the experience. Its wild tranquil beauty has attracted a wide variety of wildlife, including endangered eastern long-nosed bandicoots and the native sunshine wattle.
It’s a perfect spot for nature lovers and explorers, with walking trails to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. You can also learn about Australia’s quarantine history through a series of interactive tours and activities.
The Corso
The Corso links Manly Cove to the beach. The short pedestrian walkway is lined with Victorian facades housing restaurants, bars, cafes, surf stores and three shopping arcades. It was designed by Henry Gilbert Smith, the earliest developer of Manly, to resemble Via del Corso in Rome.
A Cane Corso needs serious exercise and a confident, authoritative owner who serves as the alpha dog in their home. This intelligent working breed thrives when given a job to do and needs mental as well as physical stimulation or undesirable behavior can occur. Many compete in agility, obedience, dock diving and protection sport events.
From high end couture to funky boutique and market 'originals', find fashion, food and homewares along The Corso or discover hidden laneways during weekend outdoor markets. There's also a selection of pubs and cafes serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Children can splash in a series of water fountains set into the footpath that rise up a half metre and then die down at regular intervals.
Manly Beach
Fringed by Norfolk Island pine trees and a stunning harbour beach, Manly is a famous destination along Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It has a lazy, relaxed vibe and is home to some of Australia’s best surfers including Layne Beachley and Barton Lynch.
Enjoy a stroll down the lively Manly Corso and watch street performers. It’s lined with boutiques, cafes, ice creameries and restaurants. If you’re there on a weekend, be sure to check out the Manly Fresh Produce Markets.
The ocean beach at Manly is beautiful and calm, with a great rock pool for the kids. You can also walk to Shelly and North Steyne beaches from there or go up to the lookout at Queenscliff. It’s also worth checking out the secluded harbour beaches around the cliffs at North Head. They’re not as popular, but just as pretty! Located just 17 kilometres from the CBD, Manly is a popular tourist and surf beach destination. It was named after Governor Phillip’s encounter with the local'manly' aboriginal tribe in 1788.

Instagram post added by blanketsbybrian 'The ONLY mask that won't smear my lipstick/makeup.' -Reagan & Nicea 👭 So these georgious ladies stopped by to pick up a few more masks. They are so excited that they found a mask that has an extra big 'air pocket' in the front of the mask that won't rub off their lipstick (or chapstick). . ❤💛 $8 each, or 4 for $28.
