I couldn’t be more in love with this weight loss app.
Lose It! is, like... addicting. Please check it out. It tracks everything and makes the stats sooo easy to look at! I’m sticking to my diet because I want to see what my stats look like at the end of the week/month.
Plus, if I log for at least one week, I’ll get a more-accurate projectection of when I’ll hit my goal weight! That’s helpful for me, since I tend to lost weight too slow OR too fast.
When an app is able to suggest the number of calories/protein/sugars/fiber/etc you should plan for each meal, based on what you’ve already eaten in that day, then yeah... you’ve got yourself a personal nutritionalist.
Can I get paid for promotions like this? I mean, we’ll see how well I stick to it, but so far, I’m just in love! 😍

"It was the best kind of November day. Cold and crisp, but not quite freezing, not icy. Just cold enough that she could justifiably wear all her favorite clothes—cardigans and tights and leg warmers." -Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl •———————————————————————• Yesterday it was 90, today it's in the 60s and this weekend is supposed to be colder. So I'm channeling my inner Cath (anxiety and all apparently) and I'm snuggled up in comfy leggings, an oversized sweatshirt, cozy socks and a weighted blanket. Updating my resume and trying to stave off an anxiety attack. I actually fixed my hair today though so #quarantinegoals. •———————————————————————• #flatlay #fangirl #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookworm #beautifulbooks #booksofinstagram #yalit #bookish #booknerd #bookphotography #booknerdigans #bibliophile #bookaddict #totalbooknerd #ofcosymoments #ilovebook #bookstagramit #booknookstagram #photooftheday #instaread #bookaesthetic https://www.instagram.com/p/B-xgIUCAaj4/?igshid=becvu4xcbx9s

Hello! For the past year or so, I’ve had a list of goals for myself, and one of those goals is to get better at art. I already consider myself an artist, as a writer and a musician, but I want to build my skills in visual art such as drawing and painting. In all truthfulness, I don’t think I’m a horrible artist, but I could improve. A lot. So for motivation (both for myself and others), I decided that it couldn’t hurt to make my journey public! I know that there are a lot of talented artists on Tumblr - which is a bit intimidating, not going to lie - but I’m hoping that this blog will be a place for me to share my victories (and my failures) and maybe even inspire others sometime in the future. I know that Tumblr is always really supportive so I’m hoping that you all enjoy this insanity. These are a few of the drawings that I’ve done recently to set a foundation for whatever improvement happens in the future.
Tumblr media
If you have any suggestions on what I should draw or how I could improve please tell me! I’ll probably need inspiration so if you have any tips, ideas, comments, questions, anything, tell me! (please) I’m sharing my art with Tumblr for a reason.
- I don’t have any digital drawing tools so all of my drawings will be done on paper :l
- I expect to draw something at least once a week, but I’m not a very motivated person and I’m bad at getting inspired so updates will come whenever I draw something new. Due to the current quarantine situation updates will probably be more plentiful than when society starts up again.
Lastly - please don’t judge me or say hurtful things. If you want to comment constructive criticism I would love it, if you want to say nice things to support me I would be so thankful, but if you don’t like what I’m doing or think my progress is slow or something please just keep it to yourself. I respect everybody’s opinion, but I’m taking a chance, trying something new, and putting myself out there, and I would appreciate it if everybody was supportive and helpful. I’m able to pursue an ambition of mine and I think that’s a beautiful thing, so please don’t put me down.

We all love reading, but I also really enjoy playing sims! Sims is a great way to live out the lives of all my favorite characters! I feel like there are not enough bookish sims out there, so here I am! The first ever bookish sim I am going to attempt is Tessa Gray from Clockwork Princess! I’ve actually never read this series, so I based this off a lot of fan art, so I hope I did Tessa justice! Let me know who else I should make! If you would like to download Tessa from the sims gallery my username is jessdrucker. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! I’m down 5 POUNDS since I got my Apple Watch and started using Lose It! 😍
Okay, okay, okay... I’m BEYOND myself right now. I’ve been working so hard to lose the 15 pounds I gained when I moved back home last September (pre-Covid). I’m FINALLY there!!
I started tracking on August 28th and now it’s September 20th. I’ve steadily lost about 1.5 lbs/week, which is just the pace I was hoping for.
What now? I KEEP GOING, OF COURSE!

I haven't used my visual practitioner's brain in weeks. I am also out of huge paper 😭! I really appreciate the conversation with Angelique @visualpractitioner about hopes and dreams and putting it all in order. I borrowed the ribbon from @lizardbrainllc (again ;) )and continue to think long and hard over my path and goals. It's hard and scary. I'm grateful for all the guidance i have received from all the nooks and crannies. . . . #selfanalysis #graphicfacilitation #GraphicRecording #visualscribe #mappingitout #mapitout #visualmap #neulandmarkers #art #handdrawn #handdrawninfographic #selfplanner #self #future #thenandnow #quarantinegoals #artist #artistatwork #markers #selfcare #settinggoals #goals https://www.instagram.com/p/CAQk-tbjE4o/?igshid=kyce4kxqh5dc

What to Do When Social Distancing When Not Riding a Bike
All of us at BikeFlights.com know what it’s like to fill your life with riding. Between group rides, events, training, races and more, there’s often little time for anything else. Unfortunately most of those activities have come to a screeching halt, leaving plenty of time for “anything else.” Our Support Team member Ivy has some tips, in her own words, on how to fill that time.
Tumblr media
Time social distancing began with considering what more I could be doing to keep myself busy and productive. Cooking lots and trying new recipes, focusing on training and building fitness, starting a new TV series or reading more; they were all very sufficient time fillers. They did keep me busy, but none of it made me feel like I was truly producing anything. So I realigned my focus on creating things during my downtime. It seemed daunting at first to decide to make a packable musette, a bra that finally fits right, a pair of linen overalls or a macrame plant hanger, so I have a few tips on how to start a big project that feels out of reach.
1) You don't have to complete your project in one day. I'm still working at convincing myself of this. I would stare at my materials and think of how “big” it would all be, how much time it would take, and how it wouldn't make sense to start it if I only had 10 to 15 minutes of free time. I was surprised to see the shift in my overall mood though when I was able to find small moments of accomplishment in taking a break from work to tie just a few knots on a new macrame plant hanger, or just cut the fabric for new bra, even if I don't start sewing until a few hours later. There can be a great deal of fulfillment in taking your time in a new project.
Tumblr media
2) The internet is here to help! As a visual learner, I have started really leaning into online resources for how-to videos, and it helps give me more confidence in where to begin and what to be wary of. Don't get distracted down a rabbit hole of the NPR Tiny Desk series on YouTube though (YouTube knows how to reel me in). There are way too many sewing and crafting resources available online to feel like you're on your own. Trying something out of your comfort zone is unnerving without having someone there to hand-hold you, especially when it feels high-stakes like cutting fabric from a pattern for the first time. From fundamentals to mastery of sewing/painting/crafting techniques, there are resources for all of it.
3) It's okay to make mistakes. I struggle to be kind to myself when I make a mistake, but the more mistakes I make, the more fluid I seem to be on the next attempt. There is a lot of initial frustration that is replaced with immediate fulfillment when you have to re-do something, because creating something that works and looks the way you imagined is so much more gratifying than rushing through a project that isn't exactly the result you had in mind. My seam-ripper has gotten more use this month than in its entire lifespan (not to mention the potentially irreparable damage I have done to my blood pressure for getting deeply frustrated when nothing I make looks like it does on Etsy). I am trying to keep in mind that every seam I mess up or every sloppy macrame knot that I have to un-do is just expanding upon my knowledge base.
Take your time, you have plenty of it!
