Tom x Star makes me so uncomfortable.Tom was a huge asshole to Star when they first dated,it's implied multiple times and we're given so much evidence for it,and Star's rejected him a bunch of times since then but they got shoved back together for angst for yet another cishet ship(Star///co)and then they just...break up AGAIN.Because Star cheated on Tom with their best friend. Their romance is so bad for both of them-When they dated for the first time,Tom treated Star like shit and when they dated for the second time,Star treated Tom like shit.They have no healthiness or romantic chemistry to their dynamic,which is quiet a turn from their respective friendships with Marco and Janna.Marco's influence on Tom played a huge part in his redemption arc and he's very kind and playful to her and vice versa and Star and Janna are always themselves around eachother because they know the other loves them for who they are.Also,i'm going to be completely honest,Tom///star shippers don't help my opinion on it with how they bash Marco to uplift Star even though she's just as flawed as her in canon and ignore Star's wlw subtext with Janna in favor of their toxic cishet ship.As a bisexual black woman,it's real interesting to me that the fandom would rather see Svtfoe's Bad But Sad BoyTM who's best friends with an indigineous mexican trans girl with a white girl that he has a mutually harmful relathionship that canonically involves cheating and said white girl with a boy that she hated instead of her own best friend who's a filipino girl.Seems very standard to me

Ponymonium and Friendenemies don't really have much to offer lore wise, but there's two small moments there that reminds me of Skywynne, specifically her spells.

In Ponymonium, King Ponyhead seem to have made food rain down from their cloud ceiling and Skywynne made a spell like it(unlike their spell however, Skywynne seem to only be able to make one food item rain down)

In Friendenemies, Tom resurrected Marco's idol Mackie Hand as a reanimated corpse and again Skywynne has a spell like it(Tom's ritual has less steps than Skywynne's but seem extremely exhausting to do but it may be because he is still a child)

Coincidentally, and this is why I want to bring them up, these are the same kingdoms allied with the Butterfly's for generations, since her son, the assigned envoy, successfully got their help for the monsters invading the Butterfly kingdom.

Could Jushtin perhaps gifted the Ponyheads and the Lucitor's her mother's spells as abilities in exchange for alliance? After all, you have to wonder what could the Butterfly's have offered for the Ponyheads and Lucitors to accept being allied with a warmongering genocidal queen, and have that alliance last for generations.

But those spells don't seem out of place on their respective kingdoms, having a spell to make food rain down from the sky seem natural for people living in the sky, and having a spell to resurrect the dead makes sense for demons to have.

Then again Skywynne never said she was inspired by them, I got the impression from her that she created them on her own, and if spells like those already exist she would have likely heard of them, but you know she is also secretive according to her aureole sign (but she is fine with writing down her stalkerish behavior), so I'm not sure what could be the case.

There's a part where Eclipsa admits that she had the mewmen army attack the monster army cause Globgor had told her their plans. I mean, I don't think she wanted many mewman casualties and it must have been hard trying to be neutral/not cause much damage to both sides. Globgor was the one who kept encouraging her to abandon the throne, but tbh, I'm not sure why they couldn't just have her give it up to a cousin from Jushtin's side since I'm sure he must have had children with the Spiderbite duchess he married. There's just too many plot holes in my opinion. And you two were so right about how she didn't do much for the monsters in her chapter except date some, she only did a lot in the show most likely because she was seen as a hero in the show to monsters. I'm kind of sad since there was just so much potential and what not with what we got from the book of spells. I remember talking to a friend and he said he felt like with Rhina's chapter it looked like it had the potential to be a spin off series with all that was introduced like that friend she grew up with, the MHC guy she cursed, and dating that Lucitor cousin.

Technically it's not impossible that Jushtin never had children, but I feel like that should have been brought up if it was the case. But, I think part of the issue is that I genuinely think a lot of stuff that came out later in the lifespan of the series wasn't necessarily planned out ahead of time, so you get things like plot holes and what could potentially be seen as contradictions.

The spellbook is an example of something that’s interesting, but when you try to consider everything in it canon, either you assume some stuff was retconned, or you get the issue you brought up; where you have these interesting concepts that we barely learn anything about because the characters who they focus on are only really characters in the book.

And I definitely agree there was a lot of potential that could be explored with a lot of the Queens. I mentioned before that I see Rhina as a very tragic character, but I feel like basically any of the Queens that we only get to know through the Book could potentially make for a good, like, mini-series or something.
