Princess Bajrakitiyabha was born in 1978 to Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn (now King of Thailand) and his first wife Soamsawali who he divorced in 1991. She is the only one of the King’s seven children to have royal lineage through both parents and her mother is the only one of the King’s three ex wives to still be considered part of the royal family

Excited to unwrap one of our blanket-clad babies later, as we celebrate World Elephant Day.
Heading up the 'blanket brigade,' this little orphan's rescue has afforded him a second chance at life.
Now he needs our support on his long journey back to the wild. Stay Tuned.
🤍🐘🤍
History of World Elephant Day
On 12 August 2012, Patricia Sims, a Canadian, and the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation of Thailand, an initiative of HM Queen Sirikit of Thailand, co-founded World Elephant Day.
Patricia Sims has continued to oversee World Elephant Day ever since.
It has partnered with 100 elephant conservation organisations globally since its beginning and has reached countless people all over the world.
The fact that World Elephant Day has garnered millions of participants worldwide demonstrates how much people care about elephants and want to do anything they can to save them.
World Elephant Day is a day where organizations and individuals can rally together to give a voice to the issues threatening elephants.
This powerful, collective global movement offers a way to establish and endorse conservation solutions to make the world a safer place for elephants and their habitats so future generations can appreciate them.
Let’s combine all our efforts on August 12 for World Elephant Day to help preserve and safeguard elephants from the multiple threats they face.

Coronation Jewels
Even though there were no tiaras for the coronation of King Charles III, there were still plenty of stunning jewels on display. Here are my favorite jewelry looks.
Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom
Tumblr media
Queen Camilla wore an altered version of Queen Mary's Crown with Queen Victoria's Coronation Necklace. I can't quite tell which earrings she's wearing but they are not Queen Victoria's Coronation Earrings. Overall she didn't wear as much jewelry as I was hoping for but she looked wonderful so it was probably the right choice.
Queen Suthida of Thailand
Tumblr media
Queen Suthida wore Queen Sirikit's Sapphire Suite that contains beautiful and absolutely massive sapphires. She also wore the Nine Gems Belt which is meant to bring good luck to the wearer.
Queen 'Masenate of Lesotho
Tumblr media
I wish we had a better look at Queen 'Masenate's necklace with mysterious blue gemstones. It's stunning and seems familiar but I can't place it.
Queen Sibonelo LaMbikiza of Eswatini
Tumblr media
I also want a better look at Queen Sibonelo's big diamond necklace. It looks like there are a row of rubies along the outer edge. Update: I found a better picture!
Queen Azizah of Malaysia
Tumblr media
Queen Azizah looked lovely with her diamond fringe necklace and multiple brooches.
Queen Máxima of the Netherlands
Tumblr media
Queen Máxima took the no tiaras dress code personally and wore the biggest diamonds she could. Her earrings are made from the large diamonds of the Stuart Tiara and she wore another big diamond on her belt from a stomacher that belonged to Queen Emma.
Princess Eugenie of York
Tumblr media
Princess Eugenie debuted the Albemarle High Jewellery Diamond Collar Necklace and Earrings by Garrard. I would not be surprised if they were a loan because together they cost $162,000.
Queen Letizia of Spain
Tumblr media
Queen Letizia also wore big diamonds with the Queen Ena's Diamond Earrings from the Joyas de Pasar.
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark
Tumblr media
Crown Princess Mary debuted slightly simplified forms of the turquoise jewels given to her by Queen Margrethe last year for her 50th birthday. The jewels are Danish royal heirlooms and even if they weren't already adaptable I'm sure they can still be worn in their previous forms and knowing Mary maybe even a few more.
What were your favorite jewels worn at the coronation?

When visiting the many islands that comprise the Fire Nation, it was not uncommon for their royal majesties Fire Lord Zuko and Master Katara to don the traditional dress of the host island.
Zutara Week Day 1: Tradition
I’ve been working on this one for... a month? On and off. Earlier this year I pinned some beautiful Thai brocade to a Pinterest board, and then kept thinking about how I could incorporate something like it into a Zutara piece. Although Japan and China are usually listed as primary inspirations (with a nod to some Southeast Asian elements), given that the Fire Nation is on the equator and is a volcanic archipelago, I’ve always head-canoned that areas of it swing much closer to the cultures of tropical Southeast Asia. So creating a piece inspired by Thai national dress gave me a chance to indulge that headcanon (and an excuse to stare at many photos of gorgeous Thai clothing).
While I did end up doing a lot of research, I must stress that these are a fantasy inspired by Thai national dress. These are not meant to be accurate representations of Thai national costume, because I know they aren’t, and because I took liberties in my design choices. For example, Katara and Zuko are wearing outfits of different levels of formality, because I couldn’t resist putting Zuko in something that would show off his lightning scar. There are also many overlapping elements between Thai and Cambodian national costume, and the images I used as inspiration may not always have been correctly attributed. If you’re interested, the website for the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles explores the history of Thai formal wear and has a lot of lovely photos.
It’s hard to see in the finished image because it’s shrunk down, but I designed the pattern for Katara’s skirt from scratch based on similar styles I found, but incorporated a flame in the middle of the design for a Fire Nation touch. The small gold embroidery on Zuko’s pants uses the inner most flame of this design. Zuko wears his Fire Lord crown, and Katara wears her dual moon-flame crown. Katara’s tiara-esque headpiece was inspired by images of Thai theatrical performers. Zuko’s shoes are inspired by similar long toe Thai shoes I found, although not from any one specific source.
Please forgive the background, backgrounds are hard.

“I love that Queen Sikrit took the initiative to organise designers and researchers and historians to create the 8 types of formal Thai wear. She had amazing foresight and her choices are still modern and fashionable. Queen suthida was wearing one of the 8 formal wear (the Boromphiman) at the coronation this year. Very lovely!!!!” - Submitted by Anonymous

Apo came to the IGNITE THAILAND'S TOURISM brainstorming meeting of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
PM Srettha Thavisin posted a photo on his X account today, showing him standing with an actor; Nattawin Wattanakitiphat, aka “Apo”.
“I am standing shoulder to shoulder with Apo Nattawin, who has a heart-melting smile. Apo is taking part in the Thai Ministry of Commerce’s mission to promote the new dimension economy for films and “Boy Love” (BL) series.”
Srettha wrote that Thailand is open-minded and the House will push gender equality issues through legislation, especially the same-sex marriage act, to make way for everyone to enjoy their rights equally.
