actually you know what, no. The problem with aroace Yelena Belova is not that people are shipping her with people, although that does suck. The problem is that had she was like a test subject essentially. She was the first live action big screen character we ever had. Had everyone rallied around her and celebrated her as the queer icon she was, they might have decided to keep her single. But people didn’t, they shipped her left and right, and now she’s allegedly being paired with Bucky. People are going to look to her to see if an aroace character is something people want on the bigscreen and now the answer will be no. Well done kids.

I’m rewatching endgame and I just noticed how the shirt that Carol is wearing the The Marvels trailer is similar to the shirt nat is wearing during the teleconference scene in Endgame. This is probably nothing but my first through is that this is the Lesbian shirt of the MCU. I’m also probably just grasping at straws but I need my Lesbian MCU heroes.

¿Quién iba a pensar que Loki Laufeyson, sería el principal referente queer de Marvel? El bichito de lo Queer friendly hizo su trabajo y se escabulló dentro de la estructura narrativa de Loki TV Series, como nunca antes en la historia de Marvel Studios.

Podríamos decir que si bien Stony es el mayor referente gay en la historia del fandom de MS, nunca se sintió real, nunca se sintió como una posibilidad que Tony y Steve, (o Steve y Bucky) acabaran siendo pareja. Ellos era la verdadera definición de "close friends" pero no tan close.

Siento que el momento exacto en que los ship dejaron de ser meras conspiraciones ficticias improbables, comenzó de cierta manera con Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Y siento que es poderoso, porque antes de FATWS pocas personas hubieran shippeado de forma constante y con argumentos sólidos una pareja conformada por Sam y Bucky. El chiste del asiento en Civil War, no era suficiente para cimentar la acostumbrada histeria colectiva.

Entonces, tenemos esta serie tan hetero, que es imposible no pensar "de hetero no tiene nada". Nos gustan los hombres sensibles y traumados, hombres que exploran su salud mental y su vida, y conversan de sus problemas. Lamentablemente, este tipo de hombres es catalogado de "marica" por la sociedad machista que tenemos, y cimentó la idea de que sólo las personas masculinizadas pueden ser sensibles siendo queers. Nuestra forma de consumir y crear se ve un poco sesgada por estos preceptos, queramos o no. Están en el inconsciente colectivo.

Tenemos la tensión, la amistad, la cercanía y un desarrollo raro de los acontecimientos (aún así está en mi top cinco de series favoritas de marvel+disney), pero funcional al show. . . quizá demasiado. ¿Existe la posibilidad que ante la carencia de parejitas queer estables de personajes ya conocidos, Marvel haya decidido implícitamente meter mano y empujar a Sam y Bucky a una relación de close friends, verdaderamente close? El antecedente histórico de las parejas queer en medio de la guerra, sobran, no sería extraño que tengan una de esas similitudes de sentirse solos y poder compartir su tept, es un buen lugar para comenzar a crear una relación de amistad o algo más.

La duda nos carcomerá de por vida. Es una serie con intenciones políticas, ¿Qué mejor lugar para poner cositas para los fans? Los fanfics si bien no dan dinero en mano, contribuyen al fanatismo que tenemos por Marvel y sus proyectos, y es uno de sus principales pilares ahora mismo que muchos miles se están yendo del fandom, y otros millones de queer permanecemos. No es una mala estrategia, y no es como si Disney o tuviera experiencia en el queerbaiting.

Luego de este ligero análisis, uno puede pensar y recordar, que en el fandom, Loki siempre ha sido exponente queer. Pero no es sino hasta Loki Series 1, que se nos confirma que Loki es gender fluid y pansexual (probablemente, o quizá sólo bisexual). Con Brunhilda ya habían tanteado el terreno bi, y queerbatiado un poco con Carol y María.

No sabemos nada más de esto, hasta Eternals, con Phastos y su esposo. Bastante mejor llevado que cualquier otra relación en el pasado. No es algo para denotar, simplemente está allí, como cualquier pareja normal.
