can someone make a QPR dating app please. please i'm begging you. it isn't enough to just have a "find a friend" app because every time i try one the person i'm talking to ends up either catching feelings or being REALLY weird about it when they find out i'm aro.
"but you'll die alone!" and you will not live to see it; you will die by my sword before death takes me.

I truly believe that Queer-Platonic Relationships should go without a set definition. QPR's exist on a spectrum and they look different for everyone. Some people want somethings but not others. Some QPR's closely resemble stereotypical "romantic" relationships while others don't and that should be okay. Pushing guidelines like "doesn't include sex", "more than friends", or "require a deep bond" etc. takes away from the purpose of QPR's in the first place, to exist outside the guidelines.
Obviously, QPR's can be sexless, QPP's may define their QPR as existing somewhere between romantic and platonic, and some people do prefer a deep bond before getting involved in a QPR, but to make that the standard defeats the point of having a term that means to have a relationship outside of the standard.
I think that might have made sense? I am not too sure I just saw posts talking about people pushing hard fast definitions as to what a QPR is and decided to spit out my opinions on it.

there is nothing wrong with having a long distance relationship, especially if you haven't met in person. what matters most in a relationship is that you improve each others lives and can grow and change together. you fulfill each other - and you can do that without being together in person. if toxic in person relationships can be normalized, there's no reason a healthy long distance/online relationships should be ridiculed or judged.
(this post includes friendships, sexual relationships, and queer platonic relationships!)

I swear to god, I need to give myself the right to complain, HEAVY EMPHASIS ON THIS TIKTOK THAT I GOT ON MY FYP A WEEK AGO, everytime my partner starts a new relationship, I LOSE MY FUCKING MARBLES
We just discovered that me, them and another friend all wanted to go to the first comic con happening in the country I live in, so we started planning a bit through text, I said it'd be easier to plan in call, they said no they're in call with they're gf and doing "important stuff" not sure as to what that refers to but I'm like, ok it's understandable that they don't want talk to me about certain things, I respect that.
I ask when we could call, I get ghosted...
My need for strict schedules and routines as an autistic person is not helping my frustration in this situation, I need to be planning weeks ahead otherwise I WILL forget...

How does one find a QPP? Asking for a sad aroace friend who just wants someone to go on adventures with, and talk to after a long day of work, and cuddle on the couch with, and tell stories to, and infodump with, but who very much does not want a romantic or sexual relationship. (The friend is me).

Just want to live in a silly little house and do simple easy work that lets me live comfortably and live with someone that I love and they also love me and we are soulmates but we are also both aroace so we just live in perfect queer platonic bliss and I kiss their forehead as we lay in bed watching tv shows

Before finding out about queer-platonic relationships I had this immense fear of being abandoned by all my friends once they all found partners (This was enforced by some of my friends at the time getting into relationships and going completely radio silent for months or just not having time for me anymore). I thought that being ace/aro meant I would never find someone I could love in my own way because they would want what I couldn't give or I wouldn't be able to fulfill my role in the relationship. Finding out that a relationship can be whatever my future partner and I agree on or are comfortable with is encouraging. I don't have to be what society decides is normal or conform to their standards. The label of QPR makes it all the more easy to find others who feel the same.

It baffles me that so many people don’t understand that what makes a QPR or platonic relationship is commitment.
Like that’s it. It is the fact that you are committing to prioritize someone in your daily life. That’s the most simple explanation. Yes it’s different than a committed romantic relationship, but both have the expectation that you are committed to your partner, and shape your life around that.
Am I completely off base here? It seems really simple to me. You communicate and commit to each other.
I’ve never seen anyone put it like this, and that confuses the hell out of me.

I love cuddles between friends who are also lovers and it's like. Oh we're not in a relationship *calls eachother pet names/girlfriends/boyfriends/partners. Oh yeah we cuddle and make out and shit but not in a relationship way just in an " I like you a lot and I feel comfortable with you and I enjoy being friends and being affectionate and I feel safe being affectionate with you because I know when to say if I'm uncomfortable or if I don't like something. " Yeah people ship us and we're okay with it. Yeah this is a Wendy's.
