my Master’s research is exploring trans, physically disabled people’s experiences of joy through approximately 90-minute online focus group interviews in groups of about 4-6 people. (if you’d like to participate and prefer an individual interview for accessibility reasons, that can be arranged!)

participants must be 18 or older and self-identify as transgender and physically disabled. (you do not have to identify as queer, crip, and/or queercrip to participate.)

all prospective participants will receive a detailed information sheet and have the opportunity to ask further questions prior to receiving the informed consent paperwork. for more information or to express your interest in participating, please DM me on this blog or email the account listed above/below!

Cripplequeer Pride Flag

Cripplequeer: a term for and by physically disabled people who either feel their disability is inherenty queer or them being disabled affects their queerness.

Queer: a politicized umbrella term for people LGBTIQQAA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Agender+) spectrum people.

Crip: Short for cripple and reclaimed by physically disabled folx. A politicized umbrella term for people with physical disabilities/disorders. Much like you can “come out” as queer, you can also “come out” as crip. Even if you have an obvious/visible disability, you may not identify as crip, just like gay or lesbian people may not identify as queer.

QueerCrip: A politicized umbrella term that encompasses queer, gender nonconforming identities, apparent and non apparent disabilities/disorders—physical, psychological, intellectual, developmental, emotional, etc.

Took a little 360 photoshoot of my chair while camping recently :)

I still have to adjust pieces of it but I’m slowly getting to a stable form of the chair! Next up is adjusting the camber bar (meaning brakes will have to be adjusted too), shortening the footplate height, and fixing the angle of my freewheel (not pictured) so I can use it for rougher terrain.

Attitudes to Non-Human Characters in Fiction

I'd be grateful to anyone with a bit of time to help this study!

Eligible Participants: Everyone over 18 is eligible for this study, so long as you take the survey that fits your demographic.

The first survey is aimed at neurodivergent or gender non-conforming participants.

The second survey is aimed at neurotypical and gender-conforming participants - in other words, everyone else who does not fall into the first survey demographic.

You must be 18 or over to take part in either of these surveys.

These surveys are part of a study on tropes concerning gender and neurodivergence in media. You will be asked about your headcanons regarding non-human characters who are coded as (i.e. not canonically, but implied to be) neurodivergent and/or gender non-conforming, as well as characters who are confirmed as such in canon. I am studying personal attitudes and opinions, so there are no wrong answers. For transparency's sake, I am clinically diagnosed as neurodivergent and am non-binary myself. Reblogs appreciated. I actually said that, no sarcasm—with nine broken bones, a traumatic brain injury, small subdural hematoma (brain bleed), blood literally pouring from my ear, and two seizures the day it happened—not three weeks out from the accident.
