You’re going on a nature walk. The birds are singing their cryptic songs, the trees sway in alluring ways, and oh look at you! Walking so blissfully along this humble gravel path, why you’ve been doing this whole life, haven’t you? This is your craft, your art form. Your in your element. you’re basically a professional. But the difference between you and a professional is that professionals tend to enjoy their crafts and art forms. You on the other hand are not enjoying this experience, are you? Don’t answer that, it was rhetorical. The answer is obviously no, you’re not. I mean, just look at you. You’re thinking about how hot it is out here, you would much prefer to be in your cool air conditioned home sipping on a cold alcoholic beverage without a care in the world, forgetting all of your problems. You hate how with every step you take, a little bit of gravel gets into your shoe, and you can’t just take your shoe off and to remove the gravel because then you’d be doing it every two minutes because gravel is objectively inconvenient and annoying. Every time you hear a bird chirping in the distance you can’t help but think that it will fly over you and defecate all over your brand new shirt. So I guess one could say that you are filled with stress, annoyance, and paranoia at the moment. But all of this calls into question, why did you even get on the path in the first place?

Alright so I'm reading though the DSSPPM and run across this page:

Okay one: Cutter in the preface that he did for this that the tips have been updated in the fourth edition to be revelvent and practical. Windoes ME was released in 2000 and was replaced in 2001 by Windows XP. By 2012 when this Edition was 'written' Windows Vista and 7 had already came out. And Windows 8 was about to for reference.

Now like I know that like software for industrial stuff hardly ever gets updated but like, a this implies that there is at least one computer on some of these space stations that run on Windows ME. Because why else would you send a boot device that has Windows ME on it if it was such a problem that people were accidentally replacing there AIs with Windows ME.

Like does this imply that a) Windows ME wasn't as horrible in there universe as it was in ours? Or b) that Cutter is bieng Cutter and sending them with archaic operating systems for fun?

Cause like I can tell you why that it keeps on happening, there are a lot of people do not think before sticking a flash drive into a computer, especially one that they would assume was safe. Like one that made it onto your space station.

So why were they being sent with Windows ME? Someone please explaine that to me. Plsase.
