radfem question!!

i'm having a conversation with someone about female only spaces (this specifically pertains to bathrooms) and they said that the rule of having female-only bathrooms would "act more like an enforcement of femininity more than anything else."

I think their point is about butch lesbians and/or women who present "masculinely," and so because there is ofc no female identification at the door, and policy would likely just make it more acceptable for women and girls to report if there was a male in the bathroom (without having to determine if the male identifies as a woman), this could end up hurting "masculine"-presenting women (implying that they could be mistaken as male), and in turn just reinforce femininity. Thoughts? (mine are in tags)

Do you use sarcasm a lot? No don't be ridiculous I am the least sarcastic person I know I can't believe you'd ask that of me it's not like I'm being sarcastic now or anything

What's the first thing you notice about people? I dunno that they exist? Is this an asexual thing or do I just not notice one thing in particular?

What's your eye color? Dark brown.

Scary movies or happy endings? These are not the same thing. Scary movies can have happy endings. I dunno happy endings? They're more applicable to everything including scary movies. I win.

Any special talents? Teaching I guess. Willpower? Yeah I'll say willpower I have no idea how I didn't snap yesterday.

Where were you born? Earth.

What are your hobbies? Writing I guess. Media analysis. Both writing it and absorbing it on YouTube or something. Also consuming media so I can do that.

What sports have you played? I played soccer at the YMCA when I was like six. I danced for six years. I'm a champion at biking on Wii Sports Resort.

Favorite subject in school? English. Because reading and writing slap. Although I have mixed feelings about how it was taught. Which is why I want to teach it.

Dream job? 3-5 grade reading/writing teacher and a published author

The Killer

So I was hanging out with some friends last night, and for whatever reason, we got onto the subject of whether or not we sleep with the bedroom door closed. Apparently it's safer in case of fires? But it turns out that most of my friends keep their bedroom door closed because of concerns about The Killer, aka, a person breaking into their house at night with the express intention of murdering them.

For the purposes of this poll, "I share a house/apartment" is for situations where you have your own bedroom, but there are other people living with you; "I share a bedroom" is for situations where there is another person sleeping in the same room.

What I'm about to ask if not related to your fics, not really anyways but I noticed how you mentioned reading JTTW as a child or something like that and you possessed a lot of knowledge about JTTW so that's gotten me curious, are you Chinese? Sorry, if that's a odd thing to ask because usually Chinese people or people who are Buddhists hold a lot of knowledge about JTTW and a lot of LMK fans, especially those who are western are pretty ignorant about Chinese Mythology and the book, getting a lot of things wrong and purposely spreading misinformation. So it's a nice change to see someone in the fandom who actually knows about JTTW! Which is very rare, also this is supposed to be a compliment by the way so don't take it in the bad way. Apologies for my English, it's not my first language and I'm pretty overstimulated right now so it's hard to think.

apologies if i sound weird answering this i'm like half asleep and it's 6am here, i just haven’t been able to fall asleep so i'm goofing on my phone haha.

i know for a fact i definitely never read the whole thing through as a child!! and i'm pretty sure i skipped around a lot or maybe just read abridged versions(???) because my attention as a kid was even worse than it is now to be honest. i have clearer memories of adaptations and retellings of some of the chapters honestly. some of them, while rereading, felt like old bedtime stories so /shrugs. it wasn't until a few years back that i sat down to read it through and!!!! it was a ton of fun aaaaaah!!!! ...now i want to do another read through of it honestly.

i'm not chinese, don't identify as chinese at least. my gramps was but he died when i was teeny tiny so i don't have any clear memories. admittedly, my mom tells me all the time that i got my love of stories from him so that might be why some of the arcs in jttw felt like bedtime stories... i don't know honestly. admittedly, my gramps immigrated with his parents to a different country when he was young and my mom and dad came over here from that country when i was still young so having a distinct/specific cultural identity is weird to me. i basically just grew up here sooooo.

and don't worry, i get what you mean!! the fandom does tend to spread a lot of misinformation around :c to be honest i'm always so scared of being wrong about something i'm referencing that i just start researching it a ton or (in jttw's case) i literally just go and reread the chapter where the info's in just to make sure it's right. unless it's something I'm specifically changing like an au... i don't like leaving mistakes in a fic when a little research would have fixed them. sometimes i don't notice though :c

How am I a different person than I was three years ago? What is better? this somehow made it to the #1 spot. could just try to dodge the question. learned alot. explored alot. living through the pandemic and now endemic is a big one. became more forgiving of myself. this time specifically 3 years ago I was reeling from a bus accident with a pedestrian and finding out my other moshum had passed from covid via the news. I am kinder, sweeter, less of trying to bottle all of my feelings.

What are some things I respect most about myself? that I am determined, respectful, helpful, loving, and kind.

Right now, I am feeling: sleepy. my stomach hurts a little bit but i ate random sweet tarts vs breakfast. i am determined to enjoy my non office day and rest without worrying about everything or falling behind when others can pick up slack as well.

If I could wake up tomorrow with any one quality or ability, what would it be? power of invisibility would be cool.

What feels blocked or stagnant right now? Why? artistic creativity. it's been a long time since i've created wholeheartedly beyond rp for fun and I need to explore that again.
