I am just now realizing that the look of the Bizarro Ninja is meant to make them look like Garmadon back before he was banished
And that’s probably why Wu had such a reaction to seeing Bizarro Kai without his sunglasses and seeing his red eyes
You think when he saw them he got flashbacks to the fight between him and his brother?

I really do love the film making for The Sign, like it's not groundbreaking but it's solid, it's well-done and consistent. It's not as aesthetically daring as playboyy or as visually interesting and consistent as kinnporsche BUT it's not at all as blandly shot or flat like gmmtv shows, and save for a few quibbes here and there with the camera work it's very engaging to watch.
plus, gotta give huge kudos to their VFX team like they've clearly been given time to work on their scenes - lovely change after Disney films tbh - and so far the scenes are on par with c-dramas I've watched which is great. They're also really SMART about how and when to use CGI especially for their larger scenes (really smart to use dark water for the Naga b/c it helps soften the need for ultra realistic sharpness).

midnight heart-to-heart conversation 🍸 I love drawings in the style of "childlike spontaneity", probably as an example tess (quibbs) and Kyle Ferrin both use different techniques, but the result suggests about the same thoughts , so I wanted to draw with "pencils"

You know, Crystalized saying that Garmadon’s corruption was all because of the Overlord and how it was all so he could have a vessel really puts a new perspective on Season 2
Like when the Overlord says it was Garmadon’s destiny to come to the Dark Island, while it’s not wrong, it’s not that it was Garmadon’s destiny to come here and gain the power to conquer Ninjago, rather that it was Garmadon’s destiny to appear here and become the Overlord’s vessel, so that he may once again set foot in Ninjago and take the world as his own
