One week later, the Quicks say goodbye to Copperdale and hello to Windenburg!
Winter closes in, making moving between neighbourhoods tricky. However, in order to afford this much bigger home, the family had to sell most of their non-important belongings. They have their sentimental items and essentials, but that’s it. There’s plenty of room to grow into this home as Reed and her girlfriends save their simoleons.
Ivy has been at work all day, so hasn’t been able to help with the move. Reed’s mums, Esme and Zeta, muck in to get their minimal furniture across the neighbourhoods to the quiet outskirts of Windenburg.
Many emotions surge through the family when they arrive. Excitement for their new home. Nostalgia for the memories already made here. Generation one of the Quick family called this their first family home generations ago. Reed feels so lucky that her family have acquired the property generations later, ready to add their own stories to the old home.

I have so much respect and admiration for legacy players, I truly do. Because took my ass 6 entire human years to get to gen 3 lmfao!
Anyway!!! I present to you all, the non-theatrical version of events:
Tumblr media
after a quick embrace in the kitchen (autonomously and with Lullaby at their feet), Jayce initiated the "try for baby interaction" except it was "try for new pirate" because it was talk like a pirate day and I really need to delete that damn holiday because I can't understand it sometimes.... I digress.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
much less intense than the theatrical version and at least they made the bed after!
Tumblr media
that's all folks! don't forget to stay tuned though. You don't want to miss Mercy's reaction, Darren and the twins' reaction and Indya's new title (spoiler: you won't be calling Mrs. Indya Drake no damn granny, I know that much).

Rec: Hogwarts Houses Divided (Gen-Teddy Lupin) 197K by @inverarity-the-writer
This is an old fic from 2007, that @inverarity-the-writer, has just recently posted to AO3. It's been backdated to 2007, which I think limited its readership so far. Many HP Gen readers know the author from the Alexandra Quick Series (1.15M) a story about an American OC in the Wizarding World that started in 2007 and updates every 3-4 years. The latest update Part 6 just came a few days ago. The series has a niche but very loyal following. But I want to talk about this Teddy Lupin fic! Summary: The war is over, and all is well, they say, but the wounds remain unhealed. Bitterness divides the Houses of Hogwarts. Can the first children born since the war's end begin a new era, or will the enmities of their parents be their permanent legacy? Comments: This fic has all of the charm of a fic written right after the release of HPDH. Not all of the additional canon info was known but a little was. It's unlike most nextgen fics I've read, it takes place when Teddy Lupin begins Hogwarts. He becomes fast friends with three other characters that are in the same Hogwarts Express Compartment as he is. Dewey Diggory (Cedric's brother born after his death), Kai Chang (Cho Chang's half brother), and my fav, Violet Parkinson (daughter of Pansy and Draco, though they never married and Pansy is still off the rails. FYI She was pregnant during the last Battle.)
All is not well at Hogwarts. Bitterness over the war and which sides the kids' parents were still spills over to the kids. It's ugly and worse than it's ever been. The Headmistress and Staff try to get a handle on it, but Teddy views it as not being fair at all. He's got strong characteristics of both his parents and a heavy influence from his godfather Harry. The plot, which is strong, begins with a mystery of wands being stolen from students. The direction it goes is surprising and the D.A. is reformed. You'll cheer for Teddy and his friends, and your heart will break for a few others. The Marauder's Map makes a strong appearance, and the moments where Harry, the Weasleys, Cho, Pansy and Draco pop-in are terrific.
So, if you're up for some strong nostalgia, and a first year adventure story, this will entertain you from start to finish.
Just a side note: This maybe the first fic I've read where Professor Binns plays an important role.

hey, how did you make different sections for your blog? Can't figure it out, I'd like to divide up my posts so my main page isn't messy. Thanks!
Hi Nonny! I am not entirely sure what you mean by this so I will give a bunch of general tips below. If this doesn't cover it or you want something expanded on, feel free to let me know!
Tips to keeping your blog neat & tidy!
Let me start off by saying it is your blog. Make it as messy as you want. However there are a few things you can do to make posts easier to see and read for yourself and your followers.
Tagging
Tag your posts. All of them. Have a different tag per save, story, gameplay, have one for asks, have one for reblogs. Have multiple tags! Tags galore!!! All of this will let you filter your posts to just the ones you want to see. If you tag every post with just "ts4" then you will not be able to find anything.
Example: Two of my saves have the individual tags "NSB" (for Not So Berry) and "Princess Legacy" but then I break them down even further by doing "NSB Gen 1" & "NSB Gen 2" so viewers can choose to view the project as a whole or just to search through one Gen.
Banners
This is ABSOLUTELY OPTIONAL but it makes your posts stand out from each other if you give each story/gameplay/save their own banner. It doesn't have to be extravagant. It can just be a color. Or even a pattern.
Example:
NSB
Tumblr media
Princess Legacy:
Tumblr media
You can absolutely steal the dimensions of these banners (aka save them right from this post) to create your own.
Use Your Queue
One of the easiest ways to organize your blog is to organize your queue! If you have a lot of stories or posts, try to limit when/what days you are posting them so it looks more consistent on your blog.
Example: In a perfect world where I have consistent content this is also referenced in my timezone which is PST: NSB posts go up at 6 AM every WEEKDAY - I manually schedule these Gameplay posts (whatever gameplay I am currently into as this changes) 3 times a day on the hour every weekday 11 AM-1PM - this is my normal queue set up Reblogs of others post - Weekends, 3 times a day as my normal queue is set up for
When I was doing really well with content, I would queue up 15 posts of gameplay (3 posts a day for 5 days) then go into the sims tag and throw 6 reblogged posts into my queue. Then start over again so I could queue up months in advance.
Using this method for myself makes my blog feels more structured to me. It's just for my own peace of mind and keeps me more organized.
Blog Themes
One of the best creative flex this site offers you imo. You can customize your blog theme to make it fit what you want.
There are a TON of blog themes over theme-hunter. This must be done from desktop and is only for desktop. It cannot be changed via mobile. If you check out theme-hunter, go to the top right "MORE" button. If you are looking for a main page theme, search through the "All-In-One" tag. If you are looking for a story page like i have to showcase all your stories together, I usually look through the "Family/Favorites/Characters" tag.
Now this does require a very BASE knowledge of coding, which I cannot get into in this post. It's a bit of work. Start with a simple theme until you get it down.
PRO TIP: Make a private side blog for just yourself where you can test out the themes. That way if you break the code it doesn't break your main blog. Once the code is ready on your private blog, then you can just copy/paste it onto your main!
HERE is a quick guide on how to add a tumblr theme. If you have never done it before, it's a bit of a learning curve, but honestly it's sooo satisfying once it's done.
Example: The codes for the current pages I am using can be found below: Main Theme: [X] Story Page [X]
Customizing Your Blog
Putting this all together!
Your new story pages and blog pages can include links to the specific tags you are using on your posts! It's how others can find you content so it's organized!
So let's look at this tab on my blog:
Tumblr media
This is part of my blog theme. I change it out to update whatever my blog is currently showcasing! It's part of the custom page and me going into the code to manually change it.
If you were to click any of the "Start" tabs (for the ones that have them) they would take you to the URL for the tag itself:
samssims.tumblr.com/tagged/nsb+gen+1/chrono [tumblr url] / [the word TAGGED to show you are searching the tag] / [the tag itself with + signs for spaces] / [the word CHRONO just means it will start at the beginning of the tag, useful for stories]
NOTE: These URLs only work on desktop/mobile browser. They do not work on the tumblr app.
Conclusion
And that's just a little bit about organizing your blog. But honestly it's your space. Just like your room IRL, you keep it the way you like it! This system works for me! If it helps you find your flow then I am happy to help!

⋆⭒⋆☽❍☾⋆⭒⋆Lana Legacy Challenge⋆⭒⋆☽❍☾⋆⭒⋆
TW: dark themes (drugs, alcoholism, cults, gangs).
@maxismatchccworld
This challenge is (loosely) inspired by some of my favorite Lana songs. It also draws inspiration from other challenges, such as Not So Berry, Rags to Riches, Asylum, Crybaby Whims, etc.
Required Mods: Basemental Drugs, Basemental Gangs or Extreme Violence, Zerbu’s Venue Changes.
Suggested Mods: Deaderpool’s MC Command Center, Wonderful Whims (attraction system), Simsmodelsimmer’s Realistic Reactions Cheating Overhaul, Hybrid Through Gameplay (for occult hybrids), UI Cheats (very helpful to deal with bugs), LittleMsSam’s More Wood Works (for gen 8).
Required packs: Get Famous, City Living, Get Together, Discover University, Get to Work, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, Island Living, Strangerville, Realm of Magic, Vampires, Dream Home Decorator, Werewolves, Paranormal Stuff.
Suggested packs: High School Years (Gen 2 and 3 traits), Eco Lifestyle (Gen 2 and 8), Spa Day (Gen 1 trait) Tiny Living (Gen 6), Nifty Knitting (more crafts for Gen 8).
General rules:
Turn neighborhood stories off.
Aging must be set to normal or slow.
Hard mode: start each generation with 0 simoleons and build each home and required lot by yourself.
Each generation must max out the designated skills and reach the top level of their career.
If an heir dies, you may revive them or continue the challenge with a next of kin.
You’re free to control the sims in your household who aren’t your heir or related to your heir. They can also be completely autonomous.
For gen 3, you're allowed to live on-campus in university and then move to San Myshuno.
Gen 1: Money, Power, Glory
Career: Actor
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Skill: Acting
Traits: Materialistic, Self-Assured, High Maintenance (or Self-Absorbed).
Home: Empty lot in Del Sol Valley
Lot challenge/trait: Penny Pixies
You’re the only child of a homeless, deadbeat parent who spends every simoleon that falls into their hands on dope and booze. This has instilled in you the determination to not only get off the streets, but also become rich and famous when you’re older. Slowly but surely, you make enough money to build a small home that one day will transform into a luxurious mansion, or at least one can dream. You grow up to be quite the looker and charmer, not to mention talented, so your goal of making it big on the silver screen is finally within reach. You catch the eye of a famous big shot you end up having more than a fling with, resulting in an pregnancy. But as infatuated as you are with your baby daddy/momma, your eyes are always on the prize first and foremost. You’ve heard the name of the latest lottery winner and can’t get it out of your mind.
Rules:
- Start out with 0 simoleons as a child, living with an unemployed, single, drug addicted or alcoholic parent. - Survive off of fishing, hunting for collectibles, or doing any activity you can do as a child and teenager to make money.  - As an adult, join the acting career. - Buy the Beguiling reward trait. - Work towards affording a mansion and gradually upgrade plumbing, appliances, electronics, and comfort items. - Seduce a famous sim and have a child with them.  - Marry a lottery winner for their money.
Gen 2: Video Games
Career: Videogame Streamer (or eSport Gamer)
Aspiration: World Famous Celebrity
Skill: Beer Brewing (Juice Fizzing) or Mixology
Traits: Geek, Socially awkward (or Clumsy), Overachiever (or Ambitious).
Home: Influencer house in San Myshuno
Lot challenge/trait: Celebrity Home
Despite having been born with a silver spoon in your mouth and not needing to work a day in your life to survive, you don’t just want to lay around in your pajamas all day playing video games… not unless that could be an actual career, and luckily for you, it can be. Other nepobabies don’t have your drive, your quick fingers, your passion for gaming and social media. You want to prove the world that you’re more than your last name and vast inheritance, so you move into a so-called content house in San Myshuno and throw yourself completely into your career as a professional gamer and influencer. Unfortunately, your new lifestyle has proven to be more psychologically taxing than it has any right to be. The influencers you’re currently living and collaborating with do nothing but cause drama, and you’ve found yourself in deep waters when C-Fuel, the Cowplant based energy drink company that has been sponsoring you, comes under fire for poisoning consumers, roping you into a huge scandal and subsequent cancelation. As a result, your beer brewing hobby turns into a coping mechanism and you become addicted to alcohol to deal with the stress. When an unplanned pregnancy turns your life upside down, you finally decide it’s time to go to rehab.
Rules:
- Move into a mansion or penthouse in San Myshuno and live along 6 famous sims, all in the Internet Personality, Style Influencer, and eSport Gamer careers.    - Become addicted to alcohol. - Have a child with one of your housemates. - Go to rehab and create an A.A. group.
Gen 3: Body Electric
Career: Scientist
Aspiration: Party Planner
Skill: DJ Mixing
Traits: Dance Machine, Genius, Party Animal (or Clubber)
Home: Unfurnished apartment in San Myshuno
Lot challenge/trait: Party Place
Even as a teen, all you wanted to do was sneak out and party. You know your parents are disappointed in your party animal ways, considering they did everything in their power to give you a normal upbringing despite their unconventional lifestyle as influencers. They don’t want you to waste your potential, you’re a gifted kid after all, who effortlessly got straight As throughout school. So, they decide on your behalf that you put your hefty scholarship to good use and study to become a scientist. Little did they know college was the sure way to make you unleash the party beast within in its final form. You party harder than ever, doing drugs, hooking up, dancing the night away in the pale moonlight. You’re living like Jim Morrison, right until a happy accident comes your way: you and your dealer are expecting a child. After graduating, you decide it’s time to settle down and become an adult… well, sort of. You may have a stable job and your own apartment now, not to mention a kid, but maybe that doesn’t mean the party needs to stop. Will you eventually change your ways and go to rehab? That depends on how bad your addiction gets.
Rules:
- Go to university and major in Physics.  - Become a drug addict.  - Have a child with a drug dealer.  - After graduating, join the Scientist career, move into an empty apartment in San Myshuno and furnish it using the SimRay to transform random items into furniture and decor. You’re allowed to buy the essentials.  - Turn the lot in Sixam into a rave location.
Gen 4: Sad Girl
Career: Paranormal Investigator
Aspiration: Soulmate
Skill: Medium
Traits: Gloomy, Child Of The Ocean, Child Of The Islands
Home: Admiral Wreckage in Sulani (the ship must remain on the lot).
Lot challenge/trait: Off-the-grid
Growing up in a noisy, smoke filled environment around your parents’ sketchy friends in crowded San Myshuno made you crave quietness and a connection with nature. You’re a sensitive person, naturally spiritual and intuitive, which might be the reason why you live with a dark cloud over your head. Many things make you sad: fishing (it’s not ok to eat fish! They do have feelings!), not honoring the islands of Sulani, your new home, and being your significant other’s lover on the side. It almost seems like you were born to be the other woman or man, until an unusual new opportunity for love presents itself when you, as a professional paranormal investigator with the gift of communicating with the dead, meet and fall in love with one of the Sulani island elementals. Your feelings are requited, and you two get married and start a new life… literally, since your ghost spouse has decided to come back from the dead just for you. They've got the fire, and they walk with it. Maybe this is the soulmate relationship you've always longed for.
Rules:
- Have a failed relationship with a married sim.- Eat the mermadic kelp and become a mermaid. - Seduce one of the island elementals and complete the Soulmate aspiration with them.  - Build or download a beach wedding venue.  - Marry your island elemental and have a child with them. - Complete on of the two Sulani collections: Seashells or Buried Treasures.
Gen 5: Freak
Career: None
Aspiration: Leader Of The Pack
Skill: Charisma
Traits: Evil, Insider, Erratic.
Home: Cult compound in Strangerville
Lot challenge/trait: Cursed
You always knew you were special. You can summon volcanic bombs and increase the quality of plants with your mind. You’re pretty sure you were born to rule the world, or at least that’s what the voices in your head have been telling you. You’ve also heard stories of a place called Strangerville, where a bizarre fruit that weakens the minds of those who eat it grows. You need to get your hands on one of those plants, so you move to the mysterious town in the middle of nowhere and start your own congregation. Finding a small group of obedient followers was pretty easy, especially after tricking them into eating your special fruit. Soon enough, the entirety of Strangerville will be yours. Your only concern is that, after you die, no one will carry on with your legacy, so you and your favorite disciple decide to have an heir. Will your child eat the bizarre fruit and make you proud? Or will they leave the empire they were supposed to rule in the dust?
Rules:
- Form a cult using the create a club feature and add 6 members. One of the activities must be stealing.   - None of the members of the domestic unit are allowed to have jobs. You must steal for a living.  - Build or download a cult compound in Strangerville and move in with your cult.  - Feed each cult follower the bizarre fruit. - Infect every sim living in Strangerville. - Have a child with one of your cult members. This will be the eighth member of your club.  - Each weekend, take your cult on a field trip or mini vacation and start a club gathering.   - Become a sworn enemy of your child.
Gen 6: Groupie Love
Career: Musician
Aspiration: Musical Genius
Skill: Music instrument of your choice.
Traits: Childish, Music Lover, Noncommittal
Home: Tiny Home in Windenburg’s Ancient Ruins
Lot challenge/trait: Small home (max. 100 tiles)
Growing up in a compound full of possessed people with an evil cult leader as a parent is an experience that would scar any young mind, and yours was no exception. You are certain that your parent plans to feed you the bizarre fruit, so as soon as you become a teen, you pack your few possessions and flee to Windenburg, where you find a hidden place to live by the ruins. You need money to survive, and you need to build a proper home, so you start playing music in bars and other public spaces hoping to get donations, and writing your own songs. Music has always been your passion and you’re naturally gifted at it; it’s only a matter of time before other people notice your talent and you start gaining fame and fans. Drunk on the love and attention you’re receiving, you get a little too close and personal with your newfound groupies. You never meant to have seven kids with them, but hey, it’s not your fault you’re so darn fertile, apparently. You might be a little emotionally stunted due to your upbringing, and perhaps committing to just one partner is not the life for you, but one thing is for sure: you will raise your seven children with all the love in the world in your tiny home by the ruins.
Rules:
- As a runaway teen, quit the cult club and move to the Windenburg’s Ancient Ruins lot using the Venue Changes mod.   - Change your money to 0 simoleons. - Make money by playing music in public venues, writing and publishing songs, and joining the Musician career as an adult. - Build or download a small home. - Become a proper celebrity.  - Form a fan club using the create a club feature.  - Have 7 children, all with different members of your fan club.  - Raise the children by yourself in your domestic unit.
Gen 7: Blue Jeans
Career: Criminal
Aspiration: Public Enemy
Skill: Mischief
Traits: Hot-Headed, Ambitious, Kleptomaniac.
Home: Abandoned factory in Moonwood Mill
Lot challenge/trait: Filthy
Some say you were born bad, and you’re inclined to agree. You didn’t exactly choose the ganster life, but it certainly did choose you. You’re tough, and you have big dreams, bigger than your parent’s tiny house, so you start living in the streets by yourself as a young adult. There’s an abandoned factory in Moonwood Mill that becomes your gang’s operation center. Despite it never being one of your priorities, love comes knocking at your door in the form of a rich, posh sim whose parents are in the political career. Due to your bad reputation, you’re not allowed to be seen with them in public, until the two of you finally elope together and you realize that maybe you’re not the only reason why your partner’s parents were ashamed of them: they’re a werewolf! They’re an outcast, much like yourself. You two have a baby, and that’s when your partner starts insisting that you quit your gang and the criminal career for your child’s sake. You know they’re right, it’s bad for a young mind to see the things you’ve seen. Sadly, this is the only life you know, and if it’s not good enough for your family, then you’re just not good enough for them. It’s time to leave and start your life over…
Rules:
- Build or download an abandoned factory, or repurpose Moonwood Mill's library. - Max out a drug dealing skill. - Form a gang. - Furnish and decorate your home with stolen items. You’re only allowed to buy items that can’t be stolen (plumbing items, beds, rugs, etc.). - Date a werewolf and elope with them.  - Have a baby. - Move away from your partner and child and either start a new life or return to them once you’ve reached level 10 of the criminal career and are allowed to quit.
Gen 8: Chemtrails Over The Country Club
Career: None
Aspiration: Emissary Of The Collective or Wildfang Renegade
Skill: Fabrication or Handiness
Traits: Cat Lover, Dog Lover, Loner
Home: Tree house in Moonwood Mill
Lot challenge/traits: Cat hangout, Dog Hangout.
Being abandoned by your gangster parent as a child really killed your faith in humanity, hence your love for animals that also extends to the beast within yourself. You build a little tree house with your own hands in that particular spot in town that mysteriously attracts all kinds of stray dogs and cats that you love to feed and play with, and some of them become your beloved fur babies. As a werewolf (or someone who aspires to be one), your dream has always been to honor your lycanthropic ancestry by joining one of the local packs and becoming the alpha. Despite the tension between the Moonwood Collective and the Wildfangs, you find your fated mate in the rival alpha. The two of you elope in secret and have a baby. Maybe this will mark a new era of peace and communion between the packs, but that depends on how willing your packmates are to cooperate.
Rules:
- Live with as few sims as you can, the rest of your domestic unit members must be pets. - Craft most of the items in your home using mainly the fabricator and the woodwork table. - Sell crafts and collectibles for a living. - Become an Apex werewolf.  - Become the alpha of one of the packs and marry the alpha of the opposite pack (remember that the first werewolf you successfully flirt with will become your fated mate). - Have a child. - Complete the Moonwood Relics collection.
Gen 9: Wildflower Wildfire
Career: None (selling flower arrangements)
Aspiration: Purveyor of Potions
Skill: Flower Arranging
Traits: Romantic, Jealous, Family-Oriented
Home: Abandoned house in Glimmerbrook
Lot challenge/trait: Haunted House Residential
If your werewolf community knew about you plan to betray them by becoming a part of the traitor class of spellcasters, they’d probably kick you out, but they’ll never get the chance to do that if you leave first. There’s a boarding school for teenage wizards in Glimmerbrook you’re interested in joining, so one night you sneak out and pay a visit to the principal, who is kind enough to transform you into a spellcaster and welcome you into the school. Your parents aren’t exactly thrilled with your decision, but they want you to be happy, so they support your choice.
Much to your dismay, your new housemates are not what you expected. They know about your lycanthropic origins and bully you relentlessly for them. One day, you’ve had enough and set part of the school on fire using magic right before moving out into a haunted abandoned house you'd discovered some time ago while exploring Glimmerbrook. There is an old flower arranging table in the garden and you decide to put your fascination with botany to the test by learning to make flower bouquets and selling them for a living.
One day, a particularly attractive sim catches your eye, and since your alchemy skills are on point, you don’t think twice before luring them in using potions. You never considered that their personality traits completely clash with yours. Do opposites attract, or is love not the kind of magic that should be messed with? Regardless, there’s already a baby on the way, and you’ve been alone for so long, running on stardust and sheer willpower. You’re better with your new darling. It’s strange, but it’s true.
Rules:
- If your heir is a werewolf, find the cure for lycanthropy. - Build or download a residential boarding school equipped with items from the Realm of Magic pack, especially cauldrons.  - Create a domestic unit consisting of 6 spellcaster teens with the Mean trait, a Virtuoso spellcaster with the Natural Mentor perk as the school principal, and your teenage heir.  - Become a spellcaster. - When the heir becomes a young adult, use the Inferniate spell to set the school on fire and move out of the domestic unit.  - Build or download an abandoned haunted house with a flower arranging table and move your heir there. - Become a Virtuoso and learn all the mischief spells. - Own a flower shop or street stall and sell flower arrangements for a living.  - Use the Potion of the Transcendent Charmer and the Potion of Alluring Aura to attract an Unflirty, Noncommittal, Hates Children partner.  - Have a child with that partner.
Gen 10: Young And Beautiful
Career: Interior Decorator
Aspiration: Vampire Family
Skill: Painting
Traits: Snob, Creative, Art Lover
Home: Vlad’s Castle in Forgotten Hollow
Lot challenge/trait: Spooky
As a result of growing up in a haunted house full of pools of ghost goo and weird markings on the floors, you have a passion for decoration and home renovation. From a young age, you started watching the home decorator channel and learning how to paint so you could beautify your surroundings with art. The way your parent’s flower arrangements decay over time makes you sad. Why can’t beauty last forever? Why are most living things destined to die? You’ve met plenty of ghosts in your time, and they aren’t exactly aspirational. However, there is a type of occult you could praise and enthuse about all day long: vampires! They’re cool, they’re powerful, and most importantly, they’re immortal. So, when the opportunity to drink the ancient blood of a vampire arises, you take it without hesitation.
As overjoyed as you are with your transformation, you’re keenly aware that eternity will eventually get lonely. You want a family that will never leave your side in the mortal coil of existence. You love your job as a home decorator, you’re superb at it, and your clientele idolizes you, so why not preserve a few of your admirers for posterity by feeding them the sweet elixir cursing through your veins?
Now that you’re forever young and beautiful (you’ve made sure to treat yourself to a tweak or two under the knife), have seen the world, have done it all, and had your cake, your life couldn’t be more perfect. Yet, you still feel lonely. You start seeing someone you’re convinced is your soulmate in every aspect except two: their taste in décor is awful, and what’s worse, they don’t fancy immortality. In fact, they’re afraid of most vampires. Even though it breaks your heart, you have no choice but to respect their wishes and love them util they’re dead and got nothing but their aching soul.
Rules:
- If your heir is a spellcaster, ask for the Rite of Dissolution. - Become a vampire and unlock the vampire creation perk. - Marry a mortal with opposite tastes in decor. You’re not allowed to turn them into a vampire.  - Complete the Vampire Family aspiration by turning your clients.  - Get plastic surgery by altering your sim’s features in CAS using the cas.fulleditmode cheat every time they get a promotion. Their dark form must remain unaltered. - Move into Vlad’s castle and redecorate it in a completely different style. - When your beloved dies, re-marry their ghost.

Hi! I stumbled upon reblog of your post of Children of the Forest story, and then I binge read your Fallen Angel and all posts of Children of the Forest! I want to say that your story is very interesting! And very well done, with all the flashbacks and plot twists! Scenes and screenshots are so beautiful! Story is so interesting it's hard to stop reading! 💜 🥰 I also wanted to ask if it's vital to know previous 5 gens or is it ok to start from Fallen Angel and gen 6? Thank you!
Thank you so so much for taking the time to let me know you enjoy my work 🥰 It's greatly appreciated! ✨✨
I wouldn't say it's vital, I will say it's very helpful to know about the previous generations since I will be mentioning and featuring various Briar family members time to time in this story but I'm also keeping in mind for viewers who are just joining in. There will be plenty of context and a few flashbacks to fill in gaps as needed, because as a viewer myself, I know how intimidating it can be to stumble on a great legacy story and they're already on Gen 5 or Gen 10 and I'm freaking out because it's sooo much to catch up on!
If you are interesting in knowing more about the Briar legacy, I have been sharing posts on Tiktok up to the birth of Gen 6, they're quick 1-2 min long videos so shouldn't be tooo long of a view should you like to get updated :) For Children of the Forest, I would start with Gen 5 which follows Orion and her twin sister, Selene in Sulani. We see how Adie's parents meet, I introduce Pirates aka Occult Hunters and when Adie was kidnapped by mermaids as a baby which is one a few events that contributes to the coddling we see between the Briar family members and Adie. There is a ton of important lore there but I will reference it in the story as well 😊

SUL SUL!
My name is El, I'm a 21-year-old queer guy from the Eastern side of the US. I've been playing TS4 for around six years but I played TS2 and TS3 before that. I had a simblr before that I can no longer remember the login to, so I'm starting fresh. I have an ongoing legacy with the "Goober Family” and I’ll be posting gameplay and story from that. Thanks to anyone who actually read this!
HOW I PLAY MY LEGACY FAMILY:
I play on normal lifespan (I get bored very easily, low attention span)
I don't play by typical legacy challenge rules, the challenge for me was getting past gen 3 (because again, low attention span)
I pick aspirations and tend to randomize traits but I will re-roll for a trait or even pick myself if I don't like the first roll
There is no gender, species, or bloodline rule when I pick the heir, it's just whoever I like most/think will have the best storyline
I will play with occults and have some in the legacy family tree but it's not my preference. Vampires will likely not be added since I don't like that they're immortal (unless there's a future vampire love interest that gets cured?)
I use cheats all the time honestly, I've edited quite a few triplet pregnancies down to just twins.
QUICK NAV:

Gen 6 / Sylvie (Recent / Chrono)

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 40: Reception Gains and Losses
Immediately following the ceremony everyone began the reception at Luigi’s portable bar, set up on the edge of the dueling grounds.
Friends and family queued up as Luigi began mixing each sim’s requested beverage. Tonight would put his mixology skills to the test like never before.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
While Luigi mixed up their drinks Denton led Bridget over to the sage of mischief, who had been waiting for them just on the other side of the portal. Like Luigi and Hunter, she had a magical bloodline but had not been born with powers. Her mage husband had suggested that practicing magic together would be a fun couple’s activity for them, and Bridget thought a little mischief magic might be a good outlet for her darker impulses.
One quick spell later Denton’s blushing bridge was officially a spellcaster.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
The newlyweds went to test Bridget’s new talents, joining the other mages taking advantage of the venue’s location. While everyone else sparred, Great Grandpa Chance pulled his ex-husband away from the fun to impart some very important news.
He wanted his old friend and lover to be the first outside his current immediate family to know he had given up the immortality gifted to him so long ago.
Bianca was an elder herself now, and he was going to pass on to the ever after with her. He didn’t want to start over, alone, again, and after helping Jack through his own transition, he had come to appreciate the value of a life with limits. It was time for him to leave the mortal realm behind.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
Candor was speechless. Chance had been the love of his immortal life, a constant presence through the centuries as their relationship waxed and waned. The idea of his touchstone departing from this world forever shook him to his core, as if the rug had been pulled out from under his very soul.
Finally, he silently opened his arms, welcoming Chance in for a hug, before wishing him the very best and heading to one of the benches at the corner of the grounds to sit and process the hurricane of feelings swirling through him.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
I don’t know of any way with actual gameplay that a sim can forfeit their immortality, so I simply removed the trait from chance using UI cheats.
I’d toyed with having him ask Jasper to take it from him Gen 6 after I realized he’d been sad in my family photos for generations but decided to go the direction that ended up with him marrying Bianca instead.
However, this time it truly felt right for him to give up his immortality based on the explanation I outlined here. I love chance, but he’ll be in my forever save and I think its good to show another side of immortality and choices surrounding it.
I do wish there was some actual gameplay for what I did though!

(Quick summary: i think drucks writers are just as culpable as the network for the crap that the show became.)
I know the writers of druck would like us all to believe that creative differences between them and the network/bosses were to blame for the demise of druck's quality during the 2nd gen - but i just don't buy it. S5 was arguably druck's best season and it introduced us to a gang of new and exciting characters. They successfully overcame the biggest hurdle in spectacular fashion- replacing a much beloved cast of characters with completely new faces - and laid the foundation for a riverting 2nd generation. Subsequent seasons should have been easy wins.
So when S6 went live it was instantly apparent (to me that some of the magic in their storytelling had been lost and) that they'd reduced fatou, a popular and lovable character, to a spectator in her own season. They had erased a lot of her quirks and instead flatened her character into the usual muted and depressed prototype. The highest priotity was clearly given to quickly developing Kieu My's arc, while simultaneously fumbling Ava's character by poorly shoehorning sideplot about race - a serious topic that clearly deserved to unfold naturally with a gradual resolve. In truth they were better off giving the season to Ava and the next one to Kieu My. Fatou had so little development in her own season that all the important parts of her journey could have adequately and organically been covered as side plots across Ava and Kieu My's seasons - it would not have disrupted the flow of their seasons like their involvement did in fatou's season.
I make all of these remarks knowing that the writers of season 6 did a far superior job than the writers of s7 and s8 and they at least wanted to tell a good story, despite the execution sometimes betraying their intentions. The true sabbatage of drucks legacy happened with s7 and s8.
Theres really not much to be said about s7 and s8 that hasn't already been said. They are heavily criticised and mocked for good reason. They're absolute disaster projects and stains on druck's previously good reputation . s8, imo, claims the title of being the worst of the two.
As mentioned before. I know druck's writers stress that they wanted to cover different themes but they were not given the green light for those ideas. It can't be understated how much of a failed it was that they were incapable of goinf back to the drawing board and revising their og ideas so they could still deliver strong characters with good stories. It is non-sensical that the writers were handed a dynamic, diverse and interesting group of characters, yet they only managed to chip away at all the potential at increasing speeds with the turn of each new season following s5. How? The network was definitely at fault for blocking the writers from telling the new and meaningful stories that they had planned, but the writers also demonstrated that they had little skill in being adaptable and writing engaging and interesting characters/stories when met with a challenge.
interesting analysis. I don´t really know what to add to that because I already wrote so many rants 😅 about s7 and s8. But still wanna share your message, because why not?

Questions for your berry heirs
Mentha: Did you plan on having an alien baby? Did you ever want to use Harley instead of Ruby as your rose gen?
Ruby: Did Ruby always love her son or was it a slow build to their mother son relationship
Aiden:Was Aiden always gay in your mind or did you get the vibe later on
Ashely:Grey Gen made me fall in love with doing the parenting skill when previously I hated that skill. Did Ashley make you love it or was it a skill you didn't or still don't like
Roxa:Was Roxa always the plan or did Amethyst have a chance. Do you regret not picking Amethyst
Amber:How close were you from deciding rather or not to give Amber a redemption arc? How shocked was Amber to discover she was having twins. How did her wife react(sorry can't remember her name)
Valentine:Was Valentine always the heir or did Dahlia have a chance. What made you go down the route of opposite twins but still protective
1. Mentha's alien pregnancy was completely by chance like I didn't want to have anything supernatural on this legacy but Mentha started it early. Ruby was always my picked heir I even asked people which look suited her better before she was even born in game.
2. I think Ruby looked at Aiden like a little brother at first and didn't have that motherly instincts towards him. Add her whole life crashing around his existence to that and she had no connection to him at first. The rest is history so it was gradual.
3. I didn't label Aiden as anything at the start but when he was a teenager I got that vibe from him and decided he was bisexual. Also I instantly shipped him with Maxwell at first sight so there's that too 🤗
4. I always liked parenting and I was even lowkey excited for it so Ashley made it even better. I never bothered with housework and stuff though so she actually made me love those. Like preparing lunch for the kids, setting the table, movie nights, doing the laundry instead of deleting etc. were stuff I used to dread but now I like them thanks to her. My one regret might be making her raise the twins only. She did the rest on her own while I focused on Roxa. I'll go back to that big family thing in blue gen.
5. Actually I had my heart on Amethyst when they were toddlers just like I wanted Ash instead of Ashley. I even had her name set in my mind while I did a quick search for Roxa. But Roxa naturally made me like him more later on but I really tried with Amethyst until she was a teenager. I do wonder how it would turn out with her but Roxa/Ruby are my favorite heirs so no regrets.
6. I wanted to absolutely crazy with Amber with no redemption arc and probably kill her off, leaving her twins to be poor BUT I couldn't handle upsetting Roxa any longer. His soul wouldn't be rest if I made Amber go through all that just to die so it was mostly for Roxa. I also came to like Amber for what she was. The pregnancy thing with Eve was planned so they were thrilled but the twins were a bit of a shock. Amber thought about raising two kids and how much it would cost them but Eve was a great parent she was very happy to be blessed with two babies.
7. Valentine was always meant to be the heir. I even picked their name accordingly and I always wanted the opposite twins route. The protectivenes came later on because I liked Dahlia more than I thought I would. She might be my favorite sibling right there with Amethyst idk maybe even more 🤔
Thank you for the questions! 🥰

Reed can’t let this opportunity pass by!
She hastily calls her girlfriend, Ivy’s, number, hoping that she’s back from work. She’s relieved when her girlfriend’s voice answers after a few rings.
Ivy: “Hey, Starshine. I’ve missed you! How was Glitch -“
Reed: “Ives, I’m sorry to interrupt but is Kana with you?”
Reed hears some shuffling before she hears Kana, their girlfriend, joining Ivy on the call. She bites her lip nervously as Kana asks her if she’s okay, perhaps having heard the urgency in her voice.
Reed: “Alright…I know this sounds crazy, but I need you to see something.”
She waits with bated breath as she sends the real estate listing of her old family’s house in Windenburg. There’s a long pause before Kana finally speaks.
Kana: “Have you called the agent to put in an offer?”
Ivy: “Wolfie, this is a big decision - we can’t be that impulsive.”
Kana: “Why not? Reed’s family started in that home. We should continue their legacy there. Look at what the Quicks have done for the world.”
Reed stays quiet, just pacing back and forth as she listens to her girlfriends discuss the house purchase. She appreciates Kana’s compliments, but this is a big buy for the family. They need to check their finances and work out if they can really afford the home.
It  was a whim that brought her here, but a hope that the family might purchase this house…

been playing the sims 4 history legacy challenge and i JUST got out of the fucking stone ages (which already is a hard start, you have almost NOTHING you can actually buy, you have to wait for the SECOND generation of children to move on to early civilization) and i've been playing it a bit more hardcore than even the original challenge gives you like i didn't buy the easel or any tables or countertops or anything, it was literally they got some shrubs to piss in and a shitty cheap wooden tub to bathe in and i put a lot of trees and flowers and decorative foliage to disguise them, they had a big tent and they lived in sulani so they were near enough to the waterfall to occasionally shower there, they had a grill and insect farms and i maxed out their gardening and fishing skills REAL QUICK and one sim actually got so good at making off the grid recipes using only what they had that they can now "write a book about it" (sorry babe yr gonna be an elder in 6 days and i don't think we'll hit computer technology before you die) and frankly i am BLESSED to have candle light and sinks and i was able to build a house, i made it real hovel in the ground style just a bathroom in a separate room and then one big room with three beds for the parents and child and then the cribs for the twins that my first gen child had (TWINS WHY) and some counters now for the grill, still no stove, no fridge, but they can store some of their food on the selling table so it lasts a BIT longer, and it's STILL so hard cos all i can really buy is the chess table and a bookshelf and like a guitar for entertainment. It's a fun challenge and I'm intentionally trying to make it harder but OH MY GOD.
and just to go along with it tonight i will be watching little house on the prairie tv show because i was obsessed with laura ingalls wilder's books as a kid and listened to the wilder podcast today that kind of did a deep dive into them and their legacy and it's been very interest, a wild ride if i may, and i figured playing sims history legacy challenge would go well with prairie times, and i think about wanting to step out into prairie grass and feel the sun and listen to the wolves howl at night, i think about the stories that i was fed that weren't all necessarily true, things like mary slapping a bear, pa going out for three days in a blizzard, laura having to teach students older than her to help her parents make money, the locust swarm, just all the things that were part of that series
and the podcast even calls out cottagecore and how hard that life really was and how we buy into the soft cute culture of it, and yes i honestly do want to live somewhere quiet and small and close to nature, i would love to grow my own food, learn to sew, talk to the birds and bugs and look at the stars and think, i would love to live a life further from consumerism and i would love to find some medium between laura ingalls prairie time and now modern capitalistic times, absolutely, and i recognize my luxury of my current life and how blessed i am to even want that compared to some, and of course you still have to be critical that she was writing about a family forging its way in a land where the inhabitants were slaughtered for their way to be forged, and what viewpoint we are fed is it really ethical, but honestly, i just want to live a life critically but softly, care about this world and the people around me, make the world better and not destroy it and get to something better and more connected and less capitalistic
i say, even as I play my silly game on my silly computer that i bought with silly specifications and paid extra silly money for (but i mean my keyboard lights up multicolors customized, i bet laura would have loved it) and anyways i don't really know where i was going with this but i hope you all have a good night, i'm going to play my history challenge early civilization mode while watching little house on the prairie and thinking of a kinder day tomorrow for everyone out there, because i think a lot of people need it.
